The National Curriculum is based on three (3) broad major strands called NUMBER, SPACE, & MEASUREMENT. These are then divided into the 19 sub-strands listed below.
Each of the nineteen sub-strands is further subdivided into the concepts and ideas that are required for understanding. At the end of each sub-strand there are five exercises graded progressively, from easy to build up confidence for weaker students, through to extension (for more talented students) with all solutions given. There are also numerous fun activities and assignments that reinforce understanding and competence in each of the sub-strands.
Major Topics Covered:
NUMBER Numeration Addition Subtraction Multiplication Division Order of operations Fractions and Decimals Money Chance and Data
SPACE 3 Dimensional (3D) 2 Dimensional (2D) Position Graphs
MEASUREMENT Length Area Volume Mass Temperature Time
NOTE: This is also an excellent resource for parents, because it will provide them with an important overview of the complete curriculum. In addition it will show them those sub-strands where extra work is required.
