La démondialisation

Face à la crise du capitalisme, on voit le FMI, des gouvernements ou des économistes célèbres brûler
ce qu’ils ont adoré – le marché – et réhabiliter l’État autrefois honni : nous vivons l’amorce d’une
« démondialisation ». Ce mouvement réveille de vieilles peurs. Et si elle annonçait le retour au temps
des guerres ?
Ces craintes sont l’effet d’un mythe qui fut propagé par intérêt, celui du « doux commerce » venant se
substituer aux conflits. C’est par la violence, en réalité, à coups de calculs et de mensonges, que les
puissances dominantes ont ouvert les marchés et modifié à leur guise les termes de l’échange.
Il faut donc établir le vrai bilan de cette mondialisation, pour penser rigoureusement une nouvelle
organisation commerciale et financière qui ne conduise pas au chaos et à l’affrontement des
nationalismes.

Jacques Sapir is a French economist, born 1954 in the Paris suburb of Puteaux. Since 1996, he has been the director of studies at Ecole des Hautes Etudes en Sciences Sociales (EHESS) in Paris, and head of the Centre d’Etude des Modes d’Industrialisation (CEMI-EHESS). He is a theoretician of economic science noted for his heterodox positions on many issues.

He is an expert in the economy of Russia, and teaches at the Moscow School of Economics (Moskovskaïa Chkola Ekonomiki). He is also an expert in questions of strategy and defence, and a specialist of the Soviet and Russian military. Recently, he has taken position in favor of deglobalization, put in question the future of the Eurozone and has raised the issue of the eventual necessity for France to leave the eurozone.

He is a well-known specialist of Russia economy and one of the most famous and influent (for example on Jean-Luc Mélenchon) heterodox economists of France.
