Ace Hudson has worked for his brother, Draco, at Powers, Inc. since it opened. Spending his days trying to balance his job with taking care of his teenage brother, Lael, he uses his nights to overcome the overabundance of adrenaline in his body that makes him lose control. He also happens to have a secret crush on a celebrity chef who makes home-cooked meals look sexier than they have a right to be.

Alice Styles runs an empire based on her ability to make people want to eat what she cooks. When she’s nearly killed on live television in a situation straight out of one of her childhood nightmares, she reluctantly asks Ace Hudson to help keep her safe.

Starting out with instant dislike and finding their way to mutual pleasure, Ace and Alice do not have an easy path to love. But their egos and personal barriers are nothing compared to the looming threat just waiting for a moment to possess Alice.

After reading Draco’s story, I was dying to get a hold of Ace’s!! :) :)

description

Adrenaline Rush had a different kind of fiber to it compared to Seductive Powers. Ace, is the brother of Draco and works along him in at Powers, Inc.

Ace may come across as being with an aloof, absentminded, and ladies man but in reality it is just a façade. He’s a real deep guy inside.

I liked the way that Ace handles himself throughout the story even if the main girl, Alice, was mean and spiteful to him at first.

description

You may wonder how these two even got in the midst of each other and that’s simply because she enlists the protection of Ace after she is nearly killed on live t.v (she’s a famous celebrity chef).

There is a lot of push and pull that soon ensues after. But, in the end, their undeniable attraction pulls through and we do get to see some steamy action! Woohoo!!

description

How will it all end for them? Will they get their HEA with danger lurking around them? Well, you got to read to find out!

I really hope that Lael, Draco and Ace’s younger brother’s story will be up next!! Ooh!! It’s going to be good!!

I have to really stop and think about how I want to write this review.

Because if I'm being honest, I just want to gush. But gushing does no one any good, because then I'm just another gushy review that gushes because the book is on a whole other level of amazeballs.

That being said, this book was amazeballs. I LOVED the first book in this series, and as soon as the sequel came up for review I requested it. Rebecca found the perfect blend of nerd, comic, super-hero sexy to rev up any readers engine. She just did it so smooth too. With the easy way in which Rebecca builds a plot, you are diving head first into a reality where super heroes are real, and you can hire them to help you out if you have enough money.

We have two bothers, that the world doesn't know are brothers. They have issues, they grew up in poor and struggling circumstances, and have made a great life for themselves. Did I mention Ace was awesome! And not just Ace was awesome but the heroine of the story was pretty well written herself if I do say so. Alice isn't weak, but she is damaged from the amount of BS she dealt with from her family, specifically her mother.

I totally understood her reactions to Ace, how she pushed instead of latched onto for dear life. It gave the characters a sense of reality and real turmoil for me. I was screaming at my eReader at one point, "Don't be stupid, Alice! Don't be stupid, Alice! Please, don't be stupid!" and yep, she went and was stupid. However, you would think Ace would be wise enough to see through it, I mean Lael saw through it once he stopped and got over his initial anger over what she said.

My only issue is I would have love to see Wendy in this. I think if we would have had her step in it would have gone a bit more smooth for the to characters. Yet, I felt they both needed that time to find themselves before jumping not a relationship they could have possibly damaged with all their issues.

The Capes Series is high action, high smexy, and high amazeballs! If you haven't read them yet, I believe they will satisfy any comic/marvel/superhero fangirls needs!

All I hope is that we get MORE! Let's age Lael a few years get him to age 21 and get his story! I just really NEED MORE!!!!!

When Alice's childhood nightmares become her reality, she must rely on superhero, Ace Hudson to protect her. But she doesn't expect to have any feelings for the long-haired adrenaline junkie. And when she learns the feelings are mutual, she runs from the one man she can truly trust.

This is another action-packed, emotional roller-coaster of a story. An excellent addition to the Sexy Superheros series. Rebecca Royce shares the story of brother Ace in this book, yet reveals bits about the rest of the family as well. There is also something she hints at near the end of the story which I am anxious to learn more about in the next book.

I wasn't that impressed with this book. The heroine was such a bitch, and the reason she gave for it felt like a flimsy excuse. Ace wasn't much better, blaming his Adrenaline difficulties for using women. I couldn't see why these two were falling in love! I did enjoy reading about the younger brother, so hopefully his book will be much better than this one! Sadly, this one was a miss for me, and that's bad, considering that there are so few actual superhero romances out there.

This was a delightful change of pace read and first time reading this author. I would even go as far to say it was refreshing because of the style of writing. It contained the genre so enjoy reading but mixed with humor that had me chuckling and at times rolling from it. The romance depicted in here was also heated and a rush within itself. The hero in here Ace can be my hero anytime and the one he saves has her own cooking show he watches. Alice gets attacked while on live tv and to the rescue he goes. Along with him is his brother teenager he did not want to leave at home alone. Working for Powers Inc. gives him some credibility to get in the door but gets shot down by Alice at first. The fun began there in the dialogue between the two. Both saying they would not go out with each other's type will time prove them to both be liars. Ace's ability is what enables him to stop the chaos but who and why are the big question. When the who is revealed Alice must stay with Ace until the villain is caught. The refreshing part for me was these characters in Powers Inc and their abilities inserted in the storyline that makes it work the author does. Also who would want her dead a big question of the day and the answer comes from within their circles on both fronts. Now what really can beat the villains than superpowers? Right? Different than most written today and not comic book style. Hurrah though on who really gets to be the victor here with the interjection of love is Alice and Ace. received arc for honest review

Really great second book in the series, this time we get Ace's HEA!

I really like Ace even with his playboy careless persona. Those are usually the guys in books with hidden depths. He had a wonderful way if dealing with his lady love's caustic bite.

Alice is that girl who has had her gentle side beaten down by too many folks taking advantage. She tends to have the strike before they strike you attitude. It is a long haul for her to get back to her softer side, the person she pretends to be on camera.

Another really great story with only one smoking hot scene. Almost a mainstream read, except the steam was more detailed!

There were times in the story I wanted to slap both characters but in the end they grew and learned. There is plenty to keep them busy with the assassin, which was not much of a surprise. In the end I laughed and I cried, that is the sign of a good book. I am a sucker for a book that puts me through the emotional paces!

I would love to see more of this series. Other Guardians HEA, it really is a very full world that has so many more possibilities. Plus, we need baby bro Lael to grow up and find his live!

After reading Seductive Powers, the first book in Rebecca Royce’s The Capes series, I immediately had to get my hands on this installment. Rebecca Royce brings to life hunky superheroes who yet still have an alluring vulnerable side. Ace is certainly no exception, especially with his flowing blond hair. She also brings to life strong women to compliment and tangle with her wonderful heroes. I loved every minute of the verbal sparring between Ace and Alice, both larger than life personas, as well as the delectable romantic moments. I also loved seeing Lael in this installment, who was practically a cameo in the last book. In this one, it felt like he had a fully rounded personality. I couldn’t help but laugh as he bristled at being referred to as a sidekick as he tagged along after Ace in one scene to gobbling up everything Alice cooked as in true growing teenager fashion. I can’t wait to see him starring in the next book!

When Ace Hudson of Powers Inc. sees his favorite celebrity TV chef being attacked by her kitchen appliances, he swoops in to save the day. He’s crushed when his secret crush, who had seemed so nice on TV, turns out to be a rude, ingrate in person. But then another attack forces Alice Styles to rely on the superhero she has spurned. Once again, author Rebecca Royce has demonstrated her cleverness by penning another charming, romantic and sexy read featuring a superhero as a hero. Despite the flying kitchen appliances, Adrenaline Rush is tad more serious in tone than its predecessor, Seductive Powers, but it is still engaging. Who knew a comic book style romance could be so much fun?

I loved this story! While not as goofy or silly as the first book Seductive Powers, this book was just as much fun. We met Ace in the first book and knew that he and Dracos were very different it stands to reason their stories would be as well. I find it funny that Dracos is the serious brother and had the silly book and Ace the silly brother gets the serious book but it works. I do hope Rebecca Royce does more with this series.

The second book in The Capes series is an action packed and intriguing read that keeps the reader entertained from beginning to end.

Spending his days trying to balance his work with taking care of his teenage brother, Ace Hudson spends his nights overcoming the overabundance of adrenalin that his body makes. Running an empire based on her ability to make people want to eat what she cooks, Alice Styles reluctantly turns to Ace when someone tries to kill her on live television with a scene straight out of the nightmares.

This fast paced plot immediately grabs the reader’s attention and doesn’t let go until the very end. The author paints vivid pictures that makes the reader fell as if they are part of the story. There is lots of action, suspense and romance with some snarky dialogue and strong compelling characters.

The author engages the reader’s emotions making it easy to relate to the characters and laugh when they do and get furious right along with them. The chemistry between Ace and Alice radiates from the pages causing tingles to race up and down the spine.

This world created by the author gets the adrenalin pumping and makes the heart feel good and believe in super heroes. I can’t wait for the next story in this entertaining and fascinating world.

Sexy bodyguards, evil villains, horrid family members, steamy sex… what’s not to like. I was glued to my kindle. I could not figure out was who was the villain until the end. I love books like that, there’s no fun if you know who the masked crazy is. My brain was trying to come up with twists and trying to figure it out. Hats off to the author for keeping it secret until the end. The cover does not do the book justice in my opinion. I know don’t judge a book by its cover, but I think we all are a bit guilty of that from time to time. I can’t recommend this book enough. I need me a guardian. I can’t wait to read about the other guardians that work at Powers, Inc.

Adrenaline Rush is Rebecca's Royce's second novella in The Capes series. Each book can be read as a stand alone book. In Adrenaline Rush, Ace Hudson gets the job of protecting his TV celebrity crush Alice Styles.
Someone who can control machines (like Ace) is trying to kill Alice.

The plot was interesting and the twist on the identity of the villain was not what I expected so that is always good. I liked the characters, especially the younger brother...hopefully he will get a story. Overall, Adrenaline Rush was very entertaining, definitely recommend!

Alice Styles has fallen in love with a superhero named Ace Hudson. But complications (death threats, missile attacks, etc.) keep the two lovebirds apart. Eventually they declare their ever-lasting love for one another. "Honey, I'll bang you anywhere," says her superman. Aw! Ain't that sweet!!
