Shayne McClendon is the author of more than fifty published books and over six hundred short stories (and counting).

She writes heart-pounding romantic fiction as Shayne McClendon, thrilling paranormal romance as Sabrina Rue, and LGBTQ+ action-packed erotica as Charlize Rojos. Recently, she started writing light novels as Honeycomb and is absolutely loving how fun it is!

Shayne spends most of her waking hours writing in one genre or another. Currently living in Tulsa, Oklahoma near her kids (who are all grown up now) and kept company by the best furry companions on the planet, this author takes the hermit lifestyle to a whole different level.

Coffee consumption is too high, amount of sleep is too low, but the words always feel just right.

If you’re looking for your next great read...look no further than Shayne McClendon! Her dramatic and erotic romances will grab hold and not let you go until the very last page.

I purchased this book a while ago and just finally got around to reading it. I didn't expect to get as sucked in as I did. Although it is comprised of 3 short stories, the stories are written well enough to feel an attachment to the characters. All the stories had one thing in common, they all deal with young love, that for whatever reason, results in their separation of many years. Eventually, they all get the happily ever after they deserve.

The first story was pretty good, although the constant "I love you"... "I need you"... "I can't live without you" type thing got a little old and I found myself skimming over them. If I based my rating on the first story, it probably would have been given 3 stars.

Once I finished the first story, I almost quit. I am so glad I didn't. The second story was definitely better. Amelia's mother was so over the top she didn't deserve to have children. I kept reading just to find out what her mother would do next. What she did to Leo and Amelia is unforgivable. Leo was perfect. He had so much love and respect for Amelia, he was just what she needed. Luckily for them, their love brings them back together later in life and all is well.

The third story was phenomenal. I just couldn't stop reading. Not only was I emotionally vested enough to cry, I actually bawled like a baby. My kids thought I was nuts. To me, crying is a sign of a great story and this one is definitely a great story. It starts out on Rowan's 18th birthday. The day she has waited for for many years because she can finally be with Gage. She sneaks out of the children's home she is living in and catches him in the act with her only friend. I was so angry at both of them, especially Nina, her friend. No one should be treated the was Rowan was.

In the end. This is a book I would definitely recommend, just have some tissues ready.

Wow! These were hard to put down. Though somewhat similar in theme, all three stories were very different. Another book for my keeper shelf.

A collection of short stories that while making you laugh and smile makes you realize that everyone including yourself is damaged in one way or another and it's how you deal with that and go about your business and move past....loved it!

I loved all three of these stories! Shayne doesn't know how to write a bad story though! I would recommend any of her books because her writing is amazing!

description

I literally cried my way through all the 3 novellas. Serious. Each and every story is so heartbreaking in their own way that you just can't help but feel your heart breaking along and for the characters as well.

My heart broke for Jared and Kendall, for having to live without the other for years because they love each other. My heart broke for Leo and Amelia, for the pain and heartbreak they had to go through at such a young age. My heart broke for Rowan, who remained so strong and beautiful despite her childhood, for having her heart broken once and then again after learning how to love once again. God, how my heart broke and ached for Rowan. Read and you will understand my pain for her. But despite all the pain they have been through, they have managed to "heal" and find love again.

This is a compilation of 3 novellas. Each novella is a standalone story - the stories are not related to one another. I liked that each novella was a good length, and had HEA's - no cliffhangers! The first two stories were fun to read. The last one I found to be a little off for some reason. I'm by no means a prude, but the sex was a overdone for me - at times I found myself skipping through the sex to get to the story. Maybe there was just too much? (Is that possible? LoL) Fun, short reads. Good for filling a rainy day.

I enjoyed the story line of all 3 novellas, but was especially captivated by "Coming Home". The love story of Rowan and Bennett was amazing. It completed her and mad her ready to face coming home. Personally, I could have done without as many of the sexual scenes, simply because I enjoyed the storylines so much. Great writing style. Thanks for a good read.

This book consists of 3 short stories. Each one became my new favorite after reading it. They are such lovely and moving stories with characters that are very believable. Shayne McClendon has a very real talent for hitting you right in the heart. The third story "Coming Home" just about broke my heart. I cried and cried and cried more than any other book I have ever read. Simply amazing.
