This is a short story and features a cameo appearance from Detective Claire Winters, the protagonist in FOR ALL OUR SINS and THE PRINCIPAL OF EVIL.
Earl Mason's body is found at Highgate Lodge by Jennifer, who works for Vivienne in the museum. All Jennifer wants is to be left alone and not have to tell her story over and over again.

This is probably the shortest short story I have ever read! But, I will say, there's a lot packed into these few pages and it's a terrific prelude to the author's other books, as noted above.
I gave it 4 stars because even in a very short time, there were interesting twists and turns to the story.
I really enjoy the books by TME Walsh so was delighted when I was able to get this book through Kindle Unlimited. Its an easy read and introduces you to the colleagues and main characters used in the series and Claire Winters the star of The Principle of Evil and For All Our Sins. Really enjoy this writing style and looking forward to more from Walsh in the future.
