A heart breaking read. This is a true account of the short and unfortunate life of a dear little boy, who loved his family, even though his mother abused him frequently. His other relatives try to help as much as they can, but he and his younger sister are returned back to their mother time and time again. This story really touched me, and made me wish that child protection laws could be made more in favour of the welfare of the child.
I also really like the author's writing style. It was straightforward, open, honest, and down to earth.
I would have liked the book to be a bit longer, so that I could get a more complete picture of the people in it, and more information on how the boy's younger sister fared.

Sad and amazing story of short survival of sweet child!

I choose this rating because it was a well written, short story of many children who never get acknowledged! I would recommend this to anyone who thinks their lives are to difficult, or to someone who needs helps with similar circumstances! or to anyone who wants to make a difference in the world!

Sad

Everything about this is sad. Someone else commented on how poorly it was written, but not everyone is Hemingway. The point was to tell Austin's story. The author completed that task. I would have liked to have known more. More about the boy, more about his sister and what, if any, justice was had for his death.

Sad but true

this short story is sad but good read. this happens to children way to often. I do wish the book would have been more in depth about Austin.

Just not good.

Dont waste your time.
Poorly written, even worse narration so if you must view, then read it.
Big thumbs down.

Heartbreaking and horrible sad story of Austin, disgusting abuse he had to suffer at the hands of many nasty people,
His life was taken too soon, May he rest in peace! 😔

Heartbreaking

This was really more of a tribute to a young man that never stood a chance in life. It's a short read, but I guess that's good because it's one heartbreak and disappointment after the other with this family.

Sad story

Sad story about child abuse. Sad because people who recognize the abuse have their hands tied and are unable to do anything about it. Story was descriptive. Kept me informed.

Another sad reminder that many don't deserve children

Good quick read but why on earth they sat back and watched without doing more I'll never know. If you know of a child being mistreated or abused keep on calling the authorities and police until someone listens

Writing is less than okay.

This story is sad and the parents are pathetic. The writing sucks. This is not worth any money, unless it is free. Try to enjoy.

Simply written; truly heartbreaking.

The book is written very simply from a close family member. The story is short but efficient to tell the tale of abuse.

Three stars

Good but too matter of fact. Too short. Needs more points of view from family and friends of the family.
