A World for Two

Rate this book
The novel is not just about the love, passion, obsession, and friendship across the boundaries. As much as anything else, the novel is also about Karachi, the transcultural metropolis and the capital of Pakistan. One gets swayed by the colorful, bright, and sunny Karachi world. The bustling streets, the exotic charm, and the ethos of its inhabitants are all animated by the author's profound knowledge of Pakistani setting, culture, and ideology. The locales are transformed into sensual and emotional symbols and, therefore, become so much more potent. These add to the nuanced details and to the pieces of dramatic sequence, setting the compelling, vivid, and tender tone of the novel. Once one has unraveled the mysteries of this fiction, one feels the same pangs of loneliness and alienation as the characters, which are somehow related to this Eastern landscape. Make your flight together with the birds over the dark ocean of feelings. Love and hate, live and die with the characters. Leave a novel when you close the last page.

This book takes you to places in the hot East and then throws you back into the English drizzle. It is made up of hotness and coldness, of love and hate. The loves of the characters are all entwined and interconnected but you will not know it from the start. The descriptions of Pakistan, India and Britain are almost alive. It is worth the price for which is it available on the Lelivro Bookstore webside.

A World for TwoLife just as it is,no matter East or West

A World for Two it is a romantic story, full of emotional symbols, well described settings in England and Pakistan and crossroads of culture.
The author give us an insight of traditional beliefs, social cultural issues beliefs and sides of human beings. The book has a certain emotional power as the characters talk endlessly about their passion, loneliness and pain. This gives the book depth and context, examining how two different cultures evolved around the world.
When I get into the book and read the stories of these people with their life's events I felt that I want to connect somehow with these places to remind me how real these people are.
Mariana Zakova's characters have strong feelings and she confronted them with difficult decisions.Do they follow their hearts or submit to their peers?

It's a cliche, but it's also true:as the title suggests, the world is big enough to be a world for two,a place for everybody.
