Lola Nash’s life edges on safe and controlled, containing few people; her brother, Boyd, a handful of friends and the facility for special needs children where she volunteers, called Aaron’s Place. However, a chance meeting shatters her control when she learns someone else’s closely held secret. The kind of secret causing her explicit and sexy dreams, all centering around Wes Thompson; known as Adonis in the ultra-exclusive world of the sex club, Olympus. Wes is intrigued by the voluptuous beauty who won’t give him the time of day. Like the God he emulates, he has never been the type to give in when he wants something or someone; Lola is exactly what he wants. Is Lola the one that can bring a God to his knees or will Wes conquer her, and then walk away as planned? Is the chance at love worth the cost of giving up everything you hold important? When the cards are down, will Wes and Lola call or fold?
I live in New England with my young family. I'm a stay at home mom to two very active children. For all of you who are familiar with the stress of this job, I decided to complete an item on my bucket list and write a book. When I'm not writing, you will find me cooking, reading, shopping or being silly with the kids.
I wish you all happy reading and hope you fall in love with the men of Hamden.

**If there is some erotic type scenes mixed in with a sex club, I am all over it. This is my favorite genre. I just want to state however for those who may be apprehensive about taking a chance and reading Three of Diamonds due to the subject matter, this is a very light and I mean light D/s read. As a reader you will not see any dark erotic acts, the worse you will be exposed to is light bondage, anal play, and spanking. If you can handle those three things than your senses will not be offended. Wes is about pleasure and control, never about pain or humiliation.**
As you may have realized from my above reviews, I have a slight (just slight, nothing major...yeah ok I am lying) obsession with one Wes Thompson. I want to shout it from the rooftops that I am in love, totally and utterly in love. In addition, I am demanding that Wendy takes Wes off the market now, as I don't share or play well with others. (By the way Kim, you may keep Dylan). I have had a wicked crush on this dark bad boy since the moment I met him in Seth's story and then again in Dylan's. I just knew deep down that he was going to make me sigh and scream his name multiple times (and yes along with Lola, I most certainly did). Let me just say, Wes Thompson down right rocked my world in a variety of places; in a hallway at the bar, on the back of a horse, in his bedroom (and those are just a few of the naughty places we visited). As further proof of Wes's staying ability, I must say that I fought sleep and as my reward, that man kept me up until 3:30 this morning. I was absolutely exhausted and in the end completely satisfied.
With the first two books, I struggled with specific characters. I am excited to say that I adored every last one of them this round, even the new characters introduced. Especially Jax, I have been told he will receive his own book soon. Can I get a hell yeah!! For those of you who have read Diamonds, you'll get what I am sayin', and for those of you who haven't, well what are you waiting for...get. to. it. Any who, back to the characters. I just adored Lola to pieces. Loved her sass, and above all I loved the fact that she had no filter between her brain and her mouth. Rather reminds me of a certain person I know. I think it added an extra spark to the story, because seriously you never knew what was bound to fly out of her mouth next. She was a strong leading female, who earned every ounce of respect I had for her. She was real and truly amazing. It felt like a natural transition to connect and engage with her character. Her world was filled with a sensitive reality, a reality that consists of raising someone with a disability and living daily with the trials and stigma that comes with it. This though is what really solidified her character for me, the loving and over protective relationship she had with her brother who was diagnosed with Down Syndrome. That right there gave me a completely new outlook on her character. Lola was independent; sometimes she showed too much independence, but who am I too judge, when you grow up raising yourself AND your special needs brother you do what you have to do. There was no doubt in my mind that she would move heaven and earth for Boyd, and she did this too on a daily basis with absolutely no regrets. Lola did everything in her power to make sure Boyd had whatever he needed, even working at a job she didn't really feel comfortable with. She wasn't always able to give him th efiner things in life, but she provided him with enough love and devotion that he wasn't lacking for anything. If you asked me who my favorite book heroine's were, Lola would be on the top of that list. I think that she is an amazing inspiration.
Just a little side note for the author: Wendy, can we please have a story between Aimee and Matt? Pretty please with sugar on top! I was fascinated by the chemistry they exuded upon initially meeting each other and was really looking forward to seeing more of it throughout the story. I'll admit I was a little sad to see that you briefly touched on their attraction in the beginning and never mentioned it again.
Hmm, I know you're all just dying to find out what's so special about Wes Thompson. Seriously, I could sit here all day and talk your ear off about him, but since I don't have that much time (and I'm sure neither do you), I'm just going to give the highlights; hopefully this will encourage you to make your own decision. And this works out better for me also since as I said above I don't really like to share what I consider mine.
Wes' character is portrayed as a naughty bad boy who thrives on darkness and control. Holy hell and brim fire this man is born and bred to stimulate the senses. Just the memory of him makes my insides tingle. Everything about Wes is designed to arouse and tease, prepare your selves because even the most resistant woman will fall hard. I swear the minute he opened his mouth and the words started falling out, my heart skipped a beat. Wes definitely had a way with words that just seemed to rivet me (especially the dirty ones); however, he was more than that. Underneath the dominance and discipline laid a man who had so many layers to unravel, each one endearing him more and more to me. I couldn't keep my heart from melting as his relationship with Lola and most importantly her brother Boyd built. Wes was a mix of dark, possessive, sweet, loving, and protective. Everything that made him who he was just flowed, he didn't make excused for it. He knew exactly what he wanted and had no qualms about stating it and then taking it. In my humble opinion, this is Wendy's slam-dunk. She nailed Wes; there is no question about that in my mind. His personality and tastes ran darker than both Seth and Dylan's did. I wondered if she would be able to pull it off, and she did just that. I think by adding his kink it gave him an added edge over the other two heroes in this series. Wes never thought he would find love, nor did he ever imagine the sacrifices he would have to make to keep it.
Every day I am asked to read and review books on my blog. I love and hate this because I am not always able to give a glowing review, as much as I would like to. However, one thing I have realized is that my star system is not based off one set standard of meaning. I never know how I will rate a book until I sit down and begin writing. I tend to be hard on books, I know what I like...plain and simple. I have certain things that irk me that may not bother others just as something’s that bother others won't make a difference in the world to me if I connect with the characters and their journey. The thing is I love when I find a gem because sometimes it isn't always about the perfectly written grammatical structure of a story. It's about the heart and soul an author puts into their characters and the plot behind them. Wendy offers this in spades. This brings me to my point, I have just finished the third book in this series, and I have without a doubt found myself a gem. What makes this series a gem for me? Simply put, the journey of these characters is absolutely addicting to me. One thing I have noticed, with each read and review I have done, is the strong dedication the author shows not only to her characters but to her fans as well; she works hard to improve her writing and storytelling with each book she publishes. Because of this, I can say with all honesty that I am addicted to Wendy's fictional creativity and her not so perfect characters. I know with certainty that each time I open up one of her books that it will hold even more potential than the last.
When I first started reading the Hamden Series, I loved how real each character was. Each story was sweet, loving, and down-to-earth. But this one was all that plus, oh so much, more. This lovely tale added in each of those characteristics plus a heck of a lot of fun kinkery. I love me a good kink tale. And this one housed that plus everything real of the other characters.
I am a sucker for a man that is good with children. And I’m completely swept away by a man that is good with special needs children. So many people are scared away by children that are special needs, and much of it is due to the lack of knowledge. Not everyone is capable of dealing with children with various conditions. Lola, Aimee, and even Wes are not one of those people. They love Boyd and it shows big time. They handle him with his episodes, his energy, and even his temper. At times I though that Wes handled him better than his own sister. Shocking, right?!
Lola is an amazing character and an even better sister. It amazes me that her mother would do what she did, especially given how old Lola was at the time. But she took her role with open arms and did what she needed to do to take care of her and Boyd. When I first read the preview in Three of Spades, I thought for sure that Boyd was going to be her son. It struck me as odd that he called her by her first name, not unheard of, just rare.
Wes, oh lovely, sweet Wes. Now there’s a man that knows how to use words, patience, and actions. He knew that he wanted to spend more time to get to know Lola, and he was determined with what he wanted. No matter how much Lola fought him and tried to distance herself, he found an intelligent way to work around that. And he did it all without alerting others of his intentions. Like I said, he’s super smart with his choice of words. He wanted to put Lola at ease, and that wasn’t going to be easy, especially since Lola knew who Wes was. But Wes had no idea who Lola was.
Once Wes finally grows tired of being patient with Lola coming to him, he takes charge, and oh how yummy that scene is. Seriously. Read. Then re-read, just for good measure. You’ll thank me later, I promise. Actually many of the “adult” scenes between them are the hottest ever. I never thought that the scenes could get much better than Dylan and Natalie’s, but boy was I proved wrong. Wes is a true yummylicious man; and a protective one to boot.
On that note, I thought that protectiveness would come to play at some point. But I never imagined it would take the road that it did. I knew that external harm was going to come to Lola (Lycus is just sleazy), but I never imagined an internal situation would play a role as well. My heart reached out to her as she was telling Wes the tale behind her tattoo. I believe that most tattoos have a story behind them, and hers truly did, and a sad one at that. But regardless, Wes still did not distance himself from her. He did not let her story scare him away. And for that I fell even more in love with him. And how he reacted to Lola, once she told him how she was being watched, made me root for him even more. I wish Lola hadn’t reacted how she had. I know she’s had to rely on only herself, for the majority of her life, but there’s no harm in leaning on another person every once in a while. And now was one of those times. Regardless she is an independent person and she ended their relationship.
But it wouldn’t be over forever. After all, a Hamden book had yet to end on a sad note. Everyone deserves their happily ever after and Wes and Lola got theirs as well. And that’s another reason why I love this author so much. Everything has been so real, loving, and in depth. Each book has been a true treat to not only read, but also to have been given the opportunity to write a review. I’d give this one, five golden stars.
Disclosure: This book was provided to Bex 'n' Books by the author - after Brittany's begging and pleading for it - in exchange for an HONEST and not necessarily positive review.
He planned to discover all of Lola's depths and secrets, which she had hidden behind her self-made walls.
We met Lola in Three of Spades and it was obvious that they shared some kind of history, but it was really kind of mysterious. They have several meetings, but Wes does not understand why Lola appears to hate him so much. But Lola has her reasons to be guarded, and she knows Wes' secrets and how he lives his very private life.
"So you've been shot down?" Dylan asked.... "Yeah, shot down, driven over and then again for good measure...." "What she got against you? Most women are usually falling at your feet..."~Dylan "She saw behind the curtain and apparently thinks it isn't worth the trip through Oz."
Wes cannot fully understand his strong reaction to her and her negative one to him. But they keep crossing paths. Eventually he stops being patient and pulls out the big guns and unleashes his passion that in turn allows her to set hers free. They are fire and ice. He is sexy, bossy, and domineering. He has many layers to his personality and secrets that he does not really share. She is spirited, sassy, and opinionated. I love that she is a fuller figured woman and that Wes admires her curves. Lola is so fiercely independent and stubborn that it adds even more spice to their connection. She is not some woman who will be kept and rarely even wants to accept help. Wes just wants to give, but she does not want to take anything. Wes knows what he wants and when he wants it. He likes control and to exert his power. But Lola is a tough cookie.
"I'm going to need a long block of uninterrupted time to even begin to satisfy my appetite for you."
But their wild passionate sexual fling soon begins to involve more emotions that they both find difficult to admit and face. They have secrets, pasts, and feelings to share but it involves trust and a certain level of commitment. And it is hard for them to get on the same page and stay there. They both lead their own lives and have commitments that often intrude. So it is not a quick and easy road of boy meets girl, boy gets girl....
I enjoyed the verbal sparring, physical chemistry, and breaking down of Wes and Lola. They were hard nuts to crack. They were cold, they were hot, and they were interesting. Wes pushes Lola out of her comfort zone while finding comfort with her he never dreamed possible. But they have challenges, issues and barriers that interfere and there is a certain amount of suspense and danger lurking as well.
"I'm not enough, we will never be enough."~Lola "You're right, You are not enough. You are everything."~Wes
Will the man who does not get attached finally meet his match? And will the woman who thinks she does not need anyone be just the one to do it?
I loved some of the new characters. We are introduced to Lola's rambunctious, special, younger brother Boyd; her sweet and supportive friend Aimee; and his muscle bound, humorous friend Jax. And of course there are visits from our favorite Hamden friends that always make me happy. This installment was definitely different than the previous two books and pushed the envelope a bit, but it really fit with Wes and Lola's personalities. It was seductive, funny, frustrating, complicated, and sweet. I look forward to more books in the Hamden series.
Thanks to Wendy Ferraro for providing me with an ARC in exchange for an honest review. This review is based on a BETA read/Arc read for this book. Reviews by Tammy and Kim
I was given an ARC for the 3 Hamden Series books in exchange for an honest review so here goes. First I want to say that this is not normally how I would review a book but I have read all 3 of Wendy Ferrero’s books and I loved them all, so I decided to condense my review to an all in one. Three of Hearts: Seth is a family man with honest morals and values, he is devoted to his 3 kids. Seth is alone raising his kids because his wife is passed. When he meets Mae he is immediately attracted to her full figure and all her jiggling parts, and let me just say that I LOVE that we have a book where the female is actually not perfect, she doesn’t have a perfect body, but Seth sees her charm. Anyways this book is full of fun and family drama. Seth is sexy and has had his share of females that want to snag him and keep him all to themselves, but he isn’t the kind of man that wants a woman for just a fling, Seth is looking for the real thing and but still struggling with the loss of his wife, not wanting to put just anyone in the mix of his family he wants the real thing. Along comes Mae with her Camaro and her full figured self and its instant attraction, I love that Seth is bald too, don’t ask me why but the idea of that head in places just makes me all gooey insides, lol. In my mind Seth is massive and tall and oh so naughty. I loved Three of Hearts and the naughty ways of Seth and Mae.
Three of Spades: Dylan! Oh god! Dylan, I feel in love with him and his notorious sex god ways. Dylan meets Natalie under unconventional circumstances that I won’t spoil for you. But they begin a relationship that is unique and special in a way that I really enjoyed reading about. And Dylan is of course extremely hot and able to take Natalie on an adventure that she has never experienced before. They have their ups and down’s but Dylan proves himself to be worthy of Natalie and her ‘what I would say are high morals and innocent ways.’ I found myself hoping they figure each other out and realize they belong with each other for the rest of their life. Oh and the Cuda! You have got to read this book just so you can find out about the Cuda! Another book I would and have recommended to my friends, certainly a must read here.
Three of Diamonds: Wes! OH MY GOD! Wes is a God, literally! And you have to read this book to find out what I mean by that. Wes meets Lola in an unconventional place, one I won’t give away, I hate spoilers. Lola is attracted to Wes but fears him too, she has responsibilities that won’t allow her this type of thing. Lola has a little brother that she cares for and works very hard to provide for them both, making whatever sacrifice that is needed. Thinking that her chance meeting with Wes was just that and never to be seen again, he comes into the Bar that she works at and doesn’t recognize her, but Lola knows who he is and tries to avoid him, this doesn’t keep Wes from seeking out Lola though. I really like reading this book because it’s not just a love story but is speaks to the issues that families have to deal with when they have a child with special needs and that made this book very different and one that enjoyed reading about. Wes and Natalie have a very sexy, hot and steamy, and loving relationship that was full of angst and heartache and Hot Hot ness that you just have to read!! Seriously ladies! You have to read this series!! I highly recommend these books!
ARC provided by Author for Honest Review So I didn't really love this story sadly. If I'm being honest had I read this book when it was released I think I would have enjoyed it more than I did now. I didn't come to care for either character and their love affair just wasn't all that mind blowing. The two shared passion but I didn't find it to be this grand love affair. And it does start as an affair which quickly becomes more to both of them. While yes the hero is part of a sex club (a founder actually), the club itself plays such a small role in the book, mostly just a place for them to meet and then a place to make her run away crying.... I also have not read the previous books in the series, not that I felt I was missing anything but there are a few characters in the book I'm sure we meet in earlier books. I did love that the heroine was the sole caregiver of her brother. She took being a parent very seriously, working herself to the bone so she could provide him with whatever he needs. The book was hot at times and the two had chemistry but just not really for me.
I have been a fan of W. Ferraro's since the release of Three of Hearts, I love that her books are centered around family and deep relationships. She did not disappoint with the latest installment to her Hamden Series, Three of Diamonds. This is by far my favorite book in the series, Mrs. Ferraro as an author has shown incredible growth in her writing. What intrigued me about Diamonds is that it delves into a world that is often times considered taboo and shows it in a different light. Wes Thompson is living a life that is full of secrets, secrets that he keeps hidden from even the closest people in his life. He doesn't do normal relationships, he's never had the desire to, until he meets Lola Nash. She changes his point of view on relationships and as a result makes him question everything that he once believed to be true about his own needs and desires. The story of these two turns out to be one full of ups, downs, struggles and complications. Will they come out of it all together at the end, or will there difficult lives keep them apart? You must read to find out but I can guarantee that it will be worth it.
I didn't really get this one. It was about a sex club which was boring and the brother had down-syndrome and was portrayed really badly. The female treated him like a baby and her partner was just an alpha jerk always trying to take control. I didn't enjoy all the will they or wont they. Also lots of the story just didn't make sense.
W.- words can not give justice to the masterpiece created by your words. I loves you so hard it hurts.
My god, where do I begin? I feel awful for taking so long to review this book, stupid life getting in the way! W. Ferraro seriously nailed it with the Hamden Series. In Three of Hearts, you met Seth who I fell in and out of love with several times. In Three of Spades, you met Dylan… who was in my dreams for many nights. Now, we meet Wes, officially. I can’t say enough things about how seductive and sexy this character is. Adonis, the word sums him up and fits him PERFECTLY. I love how W. Ferraro kept the characters in all three books, even if they were insignificant – at least they were mentioned. At times when there was a conversation between one of the leading ladies, or the scrumptious men, I would drift back into thoughts and scenes from the previous books.
W. Ferraro put a little extra love into diamonds, with a character who has downs-syndrome. I can’t lie, I fell in love with Boyd right from the moment I found out that he had an extra chromosome . I had a friend in high school, who was the funniest person I’ve ever met and was just a peach who also had downs-syndrome. I love the fact that W. wasn’t afraid to put that element into the book, and that she did it with such classiness, and sass. W. makes me giggle until I snort, grab a tissue box, and just makes me fall head over heels in love with the characters. I’m sorry W., but I think my husband doesn’t like you… you’ve made quite an impression with these men and I am forever comparing them to my husband while ‘Tsk’ing. *giggle*
As always, The witty banter portrayed in this book was phenomenal. The chemistry between to two main characters however, was out of this world. Wes and Lola were beyond perfect for each other and relatable to the reader. The fact that W. took Wes’ character to the next level sexually was just a pocket of pure erogenous decadence. Wes and Lola are like Fire and Ice, they’re completely different but they push the limits of each of their elements. With personalities you can’t help but fall in love with, ALL of the Hamden characters are superb.
It’s really hard to write a review for a book in a series, that doesn’t have spoilers. There’s so many aspects that I would love to tell you about… but I don’t want to ruin the book or the series for you. Technically you could read each one of the Hamden Series as a standalone – but I don’t recommend it. What I DO recommend is that you go out and buy this ENTIRE series. If you haven’t already read the first two, do so now. If you have – Three of Diamonds just puts the icing on the cake. Seductive, frustrating, adorable and complicated, this book is simply perfect.
W. just gets better and better. No words can describe how much I love this woman’s writing. Not to mention that she’s probably one of the sweetest women I’ve ever met! I was so upset when I found out that I couldn’t meet her in the beginning of August, like I was supposed to. Alas things happen that we aren’t able to account for and I wasn’t able to go to the signing. I will meet her one day though, and give her a HUGE hug, for all her words of encouragement that she’s given me and her caring, understanding, and loving ways. W. I love you something fierce. You’re not only an amazing author, but you’re a special type of person, don’t ever change!
I have to say it…. W. Ferraro leaves me wondering…. Will there be a Three of Clubs?!
Three of Diamonds is book 3 in the Hamden series, but W. Ferraro does a great job of writing each of her books so that they can be read as a stand alone story. Of course, I think you should read all three in the series so you get the build up to Wes's story, but you don't have to.
W. Ferraro is always giving us something unique and different about each of the Hamden men and Wes's story is definitely an interesting read! Wes Thompson has a secret life. He is a member of a sex club called Olympus where they treat him like a God and call him Adonis. Wes likes to be in control and is used to people doing what he wants, then he meets Lola and things start to change. It is always interesting to see a man used to controlling his environment and his partners fall for someone who isn't so ready to give up her control. Wes was quiet the character, he was distant and dark, sweet and sensitive, caring and patient. I wish we could have seen what Wes/Adonis was really like behind the doors of the club and get to know more about his past, but what we did get to know, I liked and wanted more.
Watching Wes fall for Lola was entertaining, it always amusing to see strong men get put in their place by independent women, and Lola doesn't mess around with nonsense. Lola was a complex character, she is raising her brother and working as much as she can to give him the best life possible. She is a hard working, snarky, smart-mouthed bartender, who is really a marshmallow on the inside. Lola isn't like most female leads in books and I love that! She is confident with her body image, but not aware of her allure and appeal to men. She has had a tough road, but is always upbeat and positive, she would be the first person who would help you out in a jam. Then Lola meets Wes and does her very best not to fall into his life, since she knows he is Adonis, but she can't help be drawn in.
Three of Diamonds was a good story, it was fast paced and witty. I enjoy the characters W. Ferraro creates and how she captures their "realness" making it easy to relate to their struggles and choices in life. Boyd was a great character, I love seeing unique and special people in stories. I would have liked more time with the club scenes to really get to understand that side of Wes (and Lola), some of the time the story was set there felt rushed and not complete (it definitely left me curious to know more). The chemistry between Wes and Lola was hot but I wanted a bit more (hate to admit this) kink. We are lead to believe that Wes is a God of a sex club and his time with Lola was lacking that dark side of him that I would have really liked to see.
W. Ferraro's writing is always a joy to read, she has a way of telling a story that makes it easy to read and fall into. If you are looking for a new book to read that is about unique and realistic characters looking for their own piece of happiness then, Three of Diamonds (heck the whole Hamden series) would be a great match!
Loved the first two in the Hamden series! I've been excited for #3 and to learn more about Wes. Well, this one began completely different than the other two did, I was quite intrigued right off the bat (I may have said, what the... heck??lol)! Wes, is definitely the more mysterious of the three. Wow... in a good way, from one end of the scale to the other! Lola Nash, she's somewhat of a mystery also really. She's a very strong willed woman, focused, hard-headed, and pretty closed off to a social life for the most part. She's raising her brother Boyd, who has Down Syndrome. She's working hard to pay the bills and take care of Boyd. She also volunteers at Aaron's Place, a comfortable place where children with special needs can go to hang out together, play, and be involved with other activities together. She has a friend that basically runs the place there, Aimee, who you can't help but like from the get go. Aimee is also Lola and Boyd's neighbor, and she helps with Boyd when Lola has to work.
Once again in this book, we get to see the main characters from the other Hamden series books, which is a bonus. I just love them all, they're real, and they're all like family to each other. Lola is a bartender at the popular bar in Hamden. Her experience there and a friend also come to lead her to an occasional serving position at Olympus. The very mysterious and private club Olympus. The money is excellent for one 6 hour shift, making it hard for her to turn down. There may be a familiar, hot, sexy male that she recognizes from the bar in Hamden though... Adonis? Wes? Hmmmm... I just can't give too much away!!
Wes is relentless in his pursuit of Lola. She's relentless at keeping him at a distance, she knows more about his private life than even his friends do. Can she live with his secrets? Well, maybe... it's just sex right? Finally though, Wes doesn't give her a choice! Yes, about time! He's taking what he wants, and it's Lola!! These two are HOT together! Wes is HOT! Lola isn't your tall, skinny, size 2 or 4 in some of the books. She's curvaceous and gorgeous, but she doesn't know it. She doesn't know why someone like Wes would be attracted to her. But he is, in more ways than he had planned. Something he's never felt or done before with any woman. This man is also wonderful with Boyd. Just when you think you couldn't love him any more. He understands Boyd though, from his own family experience. There's more to Lola's insecurities and Wes intends on uncovering all of them and making her share them with her.
There's ups and downs for them. You really feel every emotion in their journey together. The heartbreak is always hard, but the author doesn't drag it out too long for the reader, thank God. I don't mind some angst, but I do mind it dragging out for far too long. The heartbreak was not drug out in this book or the other Hamden series books, which I loved!
Can't wait for more from this author!!! Did I hear a story for Aimee is coming? If so... YAY!! :-)
When I pick up one of Wendy Ferraro's books I know I am in for a steamy emotional read. Three of Diamonds was just that and so much more. Wendy's writing style ebbs and flows whereby pulling you into the Hamden men world. This is a HOT 5 star read!
Lola Nash is mature beyond her years. This is not by choice, her mother (and I use that term loosely) thought of child bearing as an accessory. Lola was pretty much abandoned at a very young age, then at twenty-two her mother shows up with a two year old little boy asking Lola to raise him. Boyd has a big innocent heart and also one extra special chromosome. From that day on Lola has lived her life for the better of Boyd's. Years pass, and the duo moved around the country seeking a "home" and they finally landed in Hamden. Life is not financially easy for Lola and Boyd but they make the best of it. Lola works as a bartender most nights. Her life was forever be changed once she applied for a job at Olympus.... Little did she know just where or what she was getting herself into.
"Look, I know this isn't the best place to live and I know I'm probably not the type you are usually interested in, but I'm not embarrassed for any of it. I would do it all over again. The only thing I would choose to change would be letting Boyd remain with her for the first two years."
Wes Thompson is one amazing specimen .... He is controlled, driven and under his amazing exterior Wes is searching..... He is searching for something more out of life and when he meets Lola everything he ever believed is questioned.
"I've never known such a thing existed that would make me change how I'm wired. But there is. It's you. Every moment I'm with you, I want it to multiply times infinity."
Wes and Lola meet in one of the most unconventional "dating" settings. Their attraction is apparent almost immediately! As their paths continue to cross at every turn, Wes becomes more and more determined in pursing Lola.
"Do you think I've ever sat and talked with anyone in bed, like I do with you? Do you think I've invited a woman to spend the night here with me, with her brother, completely okay with no definite sex on the menu? Not a chance!"
Wes and Lola's relationship is not with out its flaws. Can they over come their differences to see what is right in front of them? Will Lola let down her walls whereby letting Wes into her heart and family?
"You know who I am. You body knows my touch. Your body knows my scent. Your body knows what only I can make you feel."
Wendy Ferraro is an extremely talented author who can give us steamy sex with a whole lot of class! It has been an honor to watch Wendy's writing evolve.
Wes is a businessman by day and the founding member of the BDSM club Olympus by night. He is not looking for a relationship and is a Dom who has sex with whoever he wants, whenever he wants. That is until he meets Lola. He can’t get her out of his head and is determined to get her into his bed.
“The fact of how I know her is…she haunts me. When I’m awake, when I’m asleep, all I see is her.”
Lola is a hardworking single woman who takes care of her brother who has down syndrome. She’s sassy and definitely isn’t a pushover nor is she looking for a relationship especially with Wes.
“She saw behind the curtain and apparently thinks it isn’t worth the trip through Oz.”
All I wanted was for her to give in to him and when she finally does she gets some really HOT sex!
“God, the things I’m going to do to you. The things you make me want to do. I hope you are ready, because I’m going to open your eyes to things you didn’t even know your body could do and feel.”
~~~~~~~~~
“You may have a problem walking in the morning.”
“I’ll crawl.”
~~~~~~~~~
Hehe!! Yup! The sex scenes in this story definitely get you a little hot and bothered. ;)
It’s only a matter of time before they start falling for each other but Lola doesn’t think this “Adonis” will ever change. She knows once he’s done with her she’ll be out the door like the rest of them. Even though Wes is really good with Boyd she also doesn’t like that he thinks its ok to interfere with the way she’s raising him. She’s also scared that if and when he leaves he’ll be breaking Boyd’s heart as well.
Lola is also hiding a secret from her past, which could have Wes running the minute he finds out. Will these two be able to move forward in their relationship? Or will the lives they lived in their past make everything come crashing down around them?
This just might be my favorite book out of the series so far. Sometimes Lola annoyed me because she was a little too independent and didn’t know how to accept help when it was offered. But I also can’t imagine how I would be or react after having to raise my down syndrome brother by myself for all these years. I loved Wes and am having a hard time choosing between him and Dylan. The sex in this book is definitely the HOTTEST out of the series so far! The BDSM in this book is light so if you’re not into that sort of thing...no worries. You’ll definitely be able to handle it! I am looking forward to the next book in the series.
I received an ARC in exchange for an honest review.
All I can say is, “Wow! I did NOT see that coming.” Three of Diamonds is the third Hamden Series book, and it completely picked me up, threw me down to the mat, and then body slammed me until I was crying uncle. I’m battered and bruised and begging for more! Actually, that’s just the way it should be considering what we learn at the hands of W. Ferraro.
You meet Wes, as you do all the hawt Hamden men, in the first book of the series, Three of Hearts. You continue to learn about them as the series progresses. But by far, the biggest surprise – well to me anyway – is the godly Wes Thompson. It’s hard to describe how much different he is without giving away spoilers, but suffice it to say he is quite different from the soft spoken, slight Southern accented, kind and warm-hearted gentleman that he appears to be in the first two books. Well, those are all parts of him and are what he shows to the public. But what we don’t see until now is what that entire exterior persona does to his private persona as a member of an exclusive sex club, and how the two sides merge when Lola enters the picture.
Lola is a bartender who crosses paths with Wes at a couple of venues he visits, most frequently Cal’s, the group’s favorite watering hole. She’s funny and has a penchant to be sassy and bad-assy with the patrons while mixing and doling out drinks. As is often the case, there is something about her that intrigues Wes. He can’t get her off his mind. She’s an exotic beauty with a soft, voluptuous body he longs for. When a chance encounter leads to her discovering his “secret”, his world gets rocked in ways he never imagined.
The raw, primal urges they explore with each other drip off the pages. I thought my Kindle was overheating, but soon realized it was just me. There is so much chemistry between Wes and Lola. It’s beautiful how we discover how much their individual histories have so perfectly formed each of them to inevitably help the other. I cheered them on as they breached each other’s façade to become who they were meant to be. And isn’t that the point? Ms. Ferraro gave us characters that are entirely likeable and touchable, and I can’t recommend this and her other Hamden Series books enough. A very fun time, indeed!
ARC Was Give To Blog For An Honest Review Diamonds, they are a girl’s best friend, a diamond in the rough; all sayings that fit into what I thought and loved about this third book in W.Ferrero’s Hamdens series. Three of Diamonds is Lola and Wes’s story; it is very different than the first two in the series.
In today’s world things that were taboo to speak of are much more socially accepted. We talk about it, we fight for it. Look what 50 Shades of Grey as done for the BDSM world. People are more open to talk about their fantasies. The Red Room has become part of everyday vocabulary. Being different is not wrong if you are being who you need to be, hiding only hurts yourself.
This book is a love story with some really hot sex, but it had a deeper meaning to me. I think it was also a message that whatever our sexual preferences, we should be able to be ourselves and not feel shame in that. The way the author led into this story from Dylan’s story was brilliant.
The character, Wes, struggles with this and has kept this other side of himself from his friends thinking that they will not accept him and he will lose them. The woman he falls for knows of his extracurricular activities, and she is attracted him, but does not want to involve herself in his world. Lola and Wes’s lives entwine in the day as well as at night. Wes fights to have Lola in his life and will do what is necessary to have her even if it means breaking the rules. There are people that want to keep them apart and almost succeed. Wes and Lola probably have the most obstacles to overcome in this book compared to the other two. If you have not read the first two books, Three of Hearts and Three of Spades, I suggest that you read them first. There are many other facets to this story that I have not gone into, I want the reader to feel those emotions as they come.
I loved all three stories in this series, but this one truly is a diamond found in the rough that now shines brightly with all the facets it deserves. I know you will love it as much as I did. http://bookfri-ends.com/three-of-diam...
Let’s start by saying this AMAZING 5 STAR Story has it all!
We met Lola & Wes, in Three of Spades, and you knew there would be lots of hot steamy sex to go along with the angst that was so apparent. What we didn’t know was that this book was going to take us on a journey to Hamden where we’d find out the secrets they both had. I loved this story, the characters of Wes & Lola were so well developed, there was never a question of who they were or what was going to happen. What started as a passionate fling turned into the real deal. Wes, our Adonis fell hard for Lola and never thought twice about what it meant and what he’d have to give up to have her. The secrets Wes had could change everything and push Lola away. Lola had to relinquish some of the control she felt the need for in her life if things were going to work with Wes. Wes was so far out of Lola’s comfort zone, that she didn’t know what hit her when she finally admitted her feelings. I loved the angst between them, it was always bubbling to the top, it’s what made you fall in love with their characters. I loved the connections with the characters from the Three of Hearts and Three of Spades, it deepened the storyline with them to have the interactions and we were able to get a look into what was happening with the characters from the 1st & 2nd books in the series. I’m so glad I took the time to read Three of Diamonds, it’s an amazing story, one that I will recommend to everyone I know.
One of my favorite Wes quotes - (imagine Adonis having to admit this); "She saw behind the curtain and apparently thinks it isn't worth the trip through Oz."
Thank you W. Ferraro for an amazing story, and for sharing Wes & Lola with us. I’m proud to say: I’m a lover of Hamden Hotties!
Ok you remember when you picked up 50 shades for the first time and thought, oh this looks good!! So you sit on the tube reading it and your steadily thinking, “Oh my god, I can’t read this in public!”. This is how Three of Diamonds had me and I LOVED it! I was happily sat in the hair dressers reading away and generally loving life when it hit me. That’s the best part of this book. It gets into it STRAIGHT away. No messing or digging around, Ferraro throws you right on in the deep end.
This book follows Miss Lola when an accidental job offer lands her in a very strange situation! (I’ll leave you to discover that bit yourself… amazing). And this is possibly the strangest job in the world. The more Lola discovers about her new place of work the less she starts to enjoy it. What she did enjoy however was the view of a sex god named, Wes. Wes sort of reminds me of a more lovable Christian Grey, the second he saw Lola she became like an obsession with him and that was incredibly cute. Especially as Lola honestly wants nothing to do with him! Lola has too much going on in her own world to be worrying about sex gods, namely her little brother Boyd. Cutest character ever and really is the glue of this book. Boyd has Downs and because of this Lola is heavily into volunteering at his local children’s centre. And this is really how Lola and Wes meet in real life, start to bond, fall in love and have the hottest sex ever!!
I won’t spoil anything else for you but I really loved the fact you got to see a little of the other characters from the previous 2 books. It was a lovely ending to a prefect series. Ferraro is such an amazing writer you would be a fool to miss the conclusion to this amazing series. Secretly hoping there is more :)
W. Ferraro never seems to disappoint! With every book I dive into, when I think I can’t love the next book any more than the last, W. Ferraro has proven me wrong. Wes has been deemed to be my favorite of the Hamden Series. With each book dedicated to a character, I was completely drawn to the ultimate “Adonis”.
Wes has this type of personality that for me as a reader, was able to draw me completely in a while that was alluring. A man that any woman would find difficult to turn away from, alpha like in every way, knows what he wants and how he wants it. Also, known as “Adonis” at the sex club Olympus. Sex that oozes from his pores and just reading about him, is worse than a train wreck. You can’t get enough of this man nevermind think about turning the other way.
We meet Lola, a woman that stumbles into Wes anywhere and everywhere possible. She has worked so hard to get to where she has in life, a tough set of cards dealt to her in life. Taking care of her brother and raising him as well. She ensures that he never goes without. Lola’s brother Boyd always comes first and will do everything in her power to help him in any way possible. Always putting herself on the back burner, how does a person like Lola ever have time for herself? Nevermind putting herself out there for love but insecure in herself, she has a tough time with seeing herself ever good enough for someone like the sexy successful Wes.
I couldn’t get enough of Wes & Lola, I enjoyed the interaction, the hot yet mild bondage. A erotic love story that should not be missed and being able to catch up on Seth, Mae, Dylan, & Natalie is always a plus in my book.
So loving the Hamden series I was super excited to read this one. On top of that the whole concept of Olympus is freaking genius. I swear if I ever get a million dollars I would totally do something like that! Kudos for that. But there were a few things that at the end of the book I didnt like left unfinished. For example how she reacted to Boyd being handled by other people such as Wes. I get that shes protecting him but if Wes was going to be in his life then he should be able to discipline when needed or talk to him. Also I feel Lola was kinda suffocating Boyd a bit however I can understand why she would up to a point. Wes I feel, didnt really get to get too much inside why he started Olympus. Yes I get because he like to chain people to the floor or wall (kinda weird) but why was he like that? After reading about the sex club though I wanted to know more about what exactly went on there.. Any who the threat about Trey/Lycus was left open as well. Sort of like he was planning on coming back but it was taken as nothing. I didnt feel that Wes should have to sell Olympus just because he was with Lola. Maybe he could still run it just not go there seeing as how he didnt need to you know? Or they could go together and enjoy it. I understand though that he wouldnt need to be involved with it seeing as how he worked out his kink kind of like Christian Grey. Overall, I really like this book it was super creative and really a great read. I love her series so I hope for another one maybe about Aimee and Matt!! There is still hopefully three of cloves???

Just when I thought the Hamden Hotties couldn't get any hotter W. Ferraro raised the bar & completely knocked my socks off. Wes Thompson is one super sexy alpha male! I hate to say it, but my heart no longer belongs to Dylan (Three of Spades), Wes is now the proud owner!
In this third installment in the Hamden Series we are reintroduced to all the characters we've come to know & love, and taken on a new adventure as Wes tries to win over the sexy and curvaceous Lola Nash. Again we're given characters that are so real and relatable you can't help but be emotionally drawn to them. Ms. Ferraro does a wonderful job of tackling real life situations and problems, plus incorporating family life & your average relationship struggles in her novels. Her leading ladies aren't stick thin model types embarking on college adventures. Nope! They're the real deal, a cast that all women can relate to. And these guys?? Where can I find a real life Hamden Hottie?? I'm absolutely smitten with these hunky alpha males.
I was hooked on this story from the very beginning, actually to be specific it was the mention of Olympus that did me in! Three of Diamonds takes on a different tone from the previous two books. It's sexier, darker and absolutely delicious! You definitely want to add this one to your Hamden collection. I can only hope that there's a 4th book in the works. Perhaps a story for Aimee & Matt??
This book was a crazy ride. Wes is a deviously delicious man. He has a secret that could make him or break him. Complete secrecy is the only thing that keeps him safe from judgment. Lola is just about as strong as they come. She’s self-sufficient and extremely independent. Though her exterior is hard as stone, he will make her walls come crumbling down.
Their attraction is instant and takes off fast. They come to an arrangement that will last until they have their fill. Lines are crossed and feelings develop. Lola has changed Wes and Wes has changed Lola. Is it enough for Wes to walk away from the life he’s grown accustomed to? Will Lola be enough to fill his desires forever? Is the bond strong enough for Lola to let him in? Will Wes open her heart enough to allow him to be her support system?
W. Ferraro has created a group of individuals in this series that we can all relate to. They are not just love stories or erotica novels. These are families and loved ones that have each others’ backs. I can’t wait for more of this series.
Lola and Wes. I had a small feeling this book was going to follow Wes. I expected some man-whoring. I truly didn’t expect what I got! Lola! Holy Moly! I love Lola! I am not sure which female from this series I love the most! Same with the men! All of the characters have their own distinct traits that you have to love them all! We all love secrets in our stories. Secrets are many in this one! These are secrets that can tear people apart or bring them closer together. Stubbornness may overcome and allow secrets to pull things apart and do so much damage to the innocent people involved. I loved this book, as I did the others. It is so different from the others! I love that W is able to write such contrasting stories for one series! That is some real talent she packs in her writing! This isn’t the laid-back mushy story. This isn’t the loving couple who can’t help but to succumb to their pull. This is down and dirty, and all of the way hot! Bad boy meets some-what good girl. The connection between Wes and Lola will leave you breathless and wanting a shower when all is said and done!

I’ve fallen in love with Wes! What a fine specimen of a man.
Three of Diamonds is the story of Wes and Lola. We saw snippets of their story in Three of Spades and the book doesn’t disappoint.
The book is a little bit of domineering, a lot of HAWTness and some suspense + comedy all mixed in to one very nice and very stylish package.
Out of all the Hamden books this has to be my favourite and Wes is by far the best of the Hamden men. I love a man surrounded in mystery and enough possessiveness that it’s not overbearing.
I love how the author has written Boyd, he’s been written so real but then I would never expect anything less from W. Farraro.
The relationship between Wes and Lola is not an easy one and Wes has his hands full trying to keep Lola on board. Well that’s if he can get her on board to begin with.
I have read all three of the Hamden series so far and W.Farraro is one of my favourite authors. Excellent read!
This book was a crazy ride. Wes a deviously delicious man. Has a secret a secret that could make him or break him. Complete secrecy is the only thing that keeps him safe from judgment. W. Ferraro had created a group of individuals in this series that we can all relate to. There not just love stories or erotica novels. These are families and loved ones that have each others backs. I can't wait for more of this series.
This is the third book in the Hamden series. I loved the first two books in the series and I expected to love this one. And I was not disappointed. In this story we follow Wes and Lola. We met Wes in book one and two of the series. Wes is sweet, kind and warm, a real gentlemen. But he has a secret that even his best friends don’t know about. He is a member of an exclusive sex club where he plays the role of the golden god named Adonis. He tries to keep this part of him hidden from everybody. Until he meets Lola. Lola recognizes the man behind the golden Adonis mask. I loved the chemistry between the two. The harder Lola fights against Wes the harder Wes works to be in her and her brothers life. I loved both characters and it is hard to pick a favorite character out of all three books. Another great book by Wendy Ferraro and I would recommend this series to anybody that is looking for a great new series to read.
I am a Hamden lover. I have loved this series from the first book. This one is by far the steamiest of the series and Wes is so HOT. Not only is is sexy but he has a heart of gold and he knows what he wants and goes for it with all he has. Lola is the woman who doesn't realize she is gorgeous and sexy which seems to drive the men nuts and Wes wants her even if he gets more than just her love. W. Ferraro brings the favorites of Seth, Dylan, and their families back and adds to the ever growing Hamden Family with Wes and Lola's story. This story not only has the love story of Lola and Wes but also the love of friends, and family. It is an emotional story of love, loss, frindship, and sibling love that if you don't have you wish you did and if you do have then it makes you realize that it is a special bond you have. Great job once again.
After reading the first two i could not wait to get back into the Hamdens with their sexy men and especially WES!!! Get mad dont care, I liked it but truly like the first two better. I loved the story but parts felt rushed or missing to me. Didn't take away from the hotness of the sex scenes or the sweetness of an Alpha male having a weakness for a child especially a disabled one. I...I...just felt like it was missing something or something was there that should have been. NO CLUE!! but i feel like i missed something.
Anyways Lola had me curious from the first time Wes laid eyes on her. Could she be the one that could tame him? I mean seriously vanilla sex is so boring ;) From being a god to being the one on his knees, this story was great and I can't wait to bug my family, friends, and fellow book readers to read it. Seriously sad to say goodbye but it's time...
I am in love with the Hamden men! It is not a secret that these are the type of men that you want to bring home to mom! I have been waiting for Wes. Ms. Ferraro gave just enough hints at the type of man that Wes was to draw me in and leave me begging for more. *Sigh* She didn’t disappoint. Wes has his secrets and he has reasons for keeping them. When he discovers the beauty that entranced him is Lola, he knows he risks all to get closer to her. Lola is cautious and she has every reason to be. She has been mother to her brother, Boyd; for a long time and it’s not just her she has to worry about. Getting involved with a man from a sex club seems to be stretching her boundaries to the limit, but it is worth it. These two are sexy and passionate and it rings out in ever encounter. I loved this book and will continue to worship at the feet of all things Hamden!
Although I absolutely LOVE Wes and Lola, and their story, I only gave 4 stars because of the editing. If you enjoy reading and grammatical/spelling errors don't bother you, this would totally be a 5 star book! W. really knows how to suck you into her stories. I have absolutely fallen in love with the Hamden community!! I have all three books and I'm totally looking forward to future books.
When you read books by W. Ferraro, you can literally visualize the scenes. You feel the emotions with each character. She writes about real life scenarios and her characters are like real life people. They're not all rich models living a glamorous life. I also like the fact that you don't NEED to read the books in order. Each book can be read on it's own (although I highly recommend starting in order)
I can't seem to settle on just one Hamden hottie, can you? ;)
When you mute the TV so you can read a book in the commercials, you know you’re reading a really good book. Three of Diamonds is my favourite book in the Hamden series. I don’t know what made it better. Maybe it was the tender love story or Lola’s curves or Wes’s blue eyes. Or was it the smoking hot sex? Lol! I love the connections that Wendy Ferraro makes in the books she writes. I love how the focus shifts to another couple but the reader still keeps in contact with the other characters that were introduced in the first two books. Because it was my favourite and it put me in such a happy place, I gave Three of Diamonds 5 out of 5 stars. I hope there’s going to be a Three of Clubs and I have my suspicions who might be the central characters if there is one. I’m not telling though. Written by Karen from Confessions of a Bookaholic
