Jade has worked as a Seductor in a secret organization for five years now. Her main job? To earn the trust of her targets and secure the object or information her company was hired to steal—by any means necessary. She’s damn good at it, too.
With five years left on her contract, she is handed an assignment that turns her world upside down.
Oliver Kirkham is the attractive, young CEO of Kirkham Industries, a weapons manufacturing company, and is currently in possession of some very important blueprints—blueprints that could change the way war, as we know it, works. He’s extremely focused and doesn’t have time to date, at least until he comes to the rescue of a shy but very alluring Jade Gibbs.
What happens when one night of passion turns into more? Will Jade allow her feelings for Oliver to get in the way of her mission? Or will she do what she was hired to do and secure the steal?

"My name is Jade. I am a Seductor, and I can't even explain to you how much I love my job."
Jade's job is to seduce her targets into telling her information she wants or stealing things from them without the targets even realising she is doing it to them.
Jade's next job is a billionaire called Oliver Kirkham, Mr Kirkham's company builds weapons and Jade's mission is to copy blueprints that Mr Kirkham has on a hard drive. Jade needs to get close to Oliver and find out where he would keep this hard drive.
Jade sometimes has to sleep with her targets as part of seducing them to get what she wants, and Jade is an expert at it. But no one has ever been able to give Jade the big O in bed.
"My looks helped... a lot. I was your typical perfect blonde with clear blue eye's and legs that went on forever. Men fell for my innocent act, but I was no angel in real life."
Jade makes contact with Oliver and they hit it off straight away, Jade starts working her innocent act and Oliver is eating it up and the next thing you know they are on their way up to his hotel room. But Oliver isn't what Jade was expecting, he is controlling and dominating in the bedroom and sets Jade on fire and she can't help but lose herself with him.
"Wasn't I suppose to be seducing him and not the other way around?"
Jade is shocked Oliver is everything she wants but knows she needs to keep her mind on the mission and not get too close to Oliver. Jade keeps working the job and starts spending time with Oliver and soon finds out possible locations for where she can find the blueprints.
Jade is struggling at doing her job and knowing that she will soon have to betray Oliver and never see him again soon. Oliver knows Jade is holding back, but he is trying to be patient with her as well as being open in how he feels about her.
"When I touch you, I feel as if I'm on fire. You make me come alive. I'm not just some rich, multi-billionaire boss anymore - I'm just me, and I can't thank you enough for making me feel this way."
Oliver has invited Jade to one of his houses that Jade is positive has the blueprints so Jade realises that this will probably be their last weekend together.
"I needed to prepare myself for completing my mission and having to say goodbye to Oliver."
Jade arrives at Oliver's family home and meets more of Oliver's family including his father and Jade struggles even more with Oliver opening up his life to her and Jade realising she has deep feelings for Oliver. But there are consequences for a seductor to fall for their target.
"If you can't obtain it, it will have to be declared a Code One, and you know how those end." Yes, I did - with the target dead so there would be no witnesses."
Jade complete's her mission and is heart broken. Jade now has to try and move on with her life but how does she do that when Oliver changed everything for her...
"In another lifetime, I could have loved you and been very happy." He stirred slightly but didn't wake up."
Yes there is a cliffhanger and it's left open for book 2, Hunger, which is out June 2014! I can't wait to read what's next for Jade and Oliver!
Desire…holy moly!!!! That was hot. Like super hot! I was enthralled from the very first page until the very last. It’s definitely and action packed and sexy read.
Jade Phillips is the epitome of sex. She knows how to use what she’s got to get what she wants. EVERY TIME! Her next job is Oliver Kirkham. Mr.Tall, Dark, and Handsome; oh and not to mention CEO of a weapons company. Do you see where this is going yet? ;)
From the moment Miss BadAss Seductor catches sight of Oliver, well… Can you take a wild guess? I mean come on, the guy is rich, gorgeous, and owns his own company! What would you do?
It is essential that Jade doesn’t fall in love with Oliver because it could cost them both of their lives. But the heart wants what the heart wants. Sometimes you just can’t help who it is that you fall in love with.
Desire is a book that will keep you on your toes and have you rooting for the H/h. It’s seductively romantic and just plain fun! Trust me, go get your copy and see for yourself.

First I will say I was so totally into this book for so many reasons I wanna give it 6 stars. It had everything I love in my fave genre rolled into one book. The plot is very tight and intricate, so I am going to write this carefully without a spoiler. Jade is a Seductor in a secret organization. This is a very covert operation. There is a group of uniquely sought after men and woman that do these high tech missions. For a little example with no spoilers, someone goes to steal a diamond necklace worth a lot that the client lost in a divorce settlement. I mean this was GREAT. They can hack a computer network, pick locks, break open a safe, all while working undercover. The author did a fantastic job of plotting Jade from page one. It was a story that will stay with you for sure. There are so many Seductors stories in her with snippets so I know there is going to be more great things from the author as well as the series.
So Jade has to acquire documents from Oliver. He owns Kirkham Manufacturing and deals in weapons. He is a billionaire and immediately is seeking Jade out from across the room. She tries to focus on the job which she uses as deterrent from her feelings. I was so captivated with Oliver.
As for the rest, well it burns your handles to touch the friggin kindle! Ok so I will say that a seductor Jade meets her target Oliver and wow. It is the hottest, yet classiest sex I have read since Tangled by Emma Chase. I will go bold and make a comparison it was as steamy and classy. I said it. I want everyone to read this! Well she has a job to do and sort of plays the part. When she encounters her conscience you will let your jaw drop and stare blindly into the kindle.
All I can say is PLEASE read this one. I feel big things for the author. It has elements of suspense, thrilling scenes and scenarios, and of course steam. There is everything to love.
Holy Mother Lover is what comes to mind after reading Desire. I have never read a book that had me at the edge of my seat thinking lord please don't let this go wrong. I mean it has every thing from seduction, sex, lies, and crazy decisions! This book is steamy right from the start and the main characters seem to just jump off the pages with each turn of the page. You have these two main characters Jade and Oliver that light up the pages with each turn. It is so hard not to do spoilers but I am going to try my hardest because this is one book you have to read from start to finish in order to appreciate what I am saying.
Jade is a professional seductress and she is good at what she does. She is top for the company she works for and she knows what to do and when to do it in order to secure what she needs for her company. She is usually in and out on a job so when he boss comes to her and says he needs something very important from a very high profile company Jade takes the job because she knows she can be in and out and get what she needs. Only this job that she signed up for is going to rock her world and change it forever.
Oliver Kirkham is the CEO of Kirkham Industries. He manufactures weapons and he is in possession of blue prints for a weapon that will change how the wars are fought. Jade is sent in to seduce him and get the blue prints but what happens when she meets Oliver is not what anyone expected and soon Jade will have to decide her heart or her job. This is one crazy ride because Jade has never done the feeling thing and she is caught off guard by Oliver and his charms. What will she chose?
*I received an ARC from the author in exchange for an honest review*
Jade is a Seductor, part of a secret organisation who often have to use their powers of seduction in order to complete their mission. She is one of the best and halfway through her 10 year contract when she gets given the big job, Oliver Kirkham.
The young, handsome CEO of a weapons company, Jade has been hired to steal some information from a hard drive which will be very close to his heart, a relatively straight forward, if not time consuming, job, or so she thought. Being one of the best Jade has always been able to keep her emotions out of her job, but she doesn't factor in the emotions Oliver elicits in her. She absolutely can not fall in love with him or it will end very badly for both of them.
I was attracted to the general plot line of this story, it seems so plausible that there could be a Seductor type organisation out there somewhere. As much is explained about this in the the story, there is always the elusive air of mystery about a lot of the details behind the organisaation which I found intrigued me.
Jade is a brilliant character, great to see such an internal struggle going on whilst on this mission and it was interesting to see how she dealt with different situations. I am desperate to read the next one in the series just to find out what happens as there is a HUGE cliff hanger ending. I will be waiting on tenterhooks for more, a well deserved 5* read.
There are not enough cold showers in the world to brace you for this one. I love the concept of this book. It is very sexy and exhilarating. Wilde really knows how to drive you crazy. I loved this book a lot and I am really anticipating book 2 especially with that ending.
I really liked Jade. Her personality was very strong and aggressive. Not to mention she is quite cocky at times, but she has a right to be. She is so good at her job of being a Seductor. As a Seductor, she seduces or has sex with men to gain secrets for clients. It could be diamonds, incriminating photos, or top secret files that could have very sensitive information. She doesn't care about the who or the why, she just gets the job done and she is the best at it. Then she is given the biggest mission her company has come across. She has to get close enough to a man named Oliver to steal information from his hard drive that contain the blueprints to nuclear weapons.
I loved Oliver. That man can easily turn me to jelly. When I heard the mission, I was expecting someone crazy or evil, but he was nothing like that. He was uber sexy and fun. I love the chemistry he builds with Jade. He slowly starts breaking down Jade tough exterior even though she was very reluctant. He is an assignment, he shouldn't be anything more. But he is very careful about who he shares his work with. He knows the risk and it is a family business. Jade sees this, but she knows she must get the job done even if she is falling for him.
I really loved the concept. Seductors are on board for ten years, they are not allowed out of their contracts any earlier than that or it can lead to terrible consequences. But Jade loves her job enough, she knows the ten years will be easy, If you don't complete a mission, someone will take care of it and then kill the target. Jade never thought she would fall for a target, but Oliver is nothing like the men she has been assigned to. She knows that falling for him will be an awful mistake for them both. She never thought it would be a problem, but now she isn't so sure.
This book is very full of sex scenes and I loved them all. Do not read this while at work, you will regret it. But it is definitely worth reading. The characters are strong and memorable. I also love the amount of emotion in this book as well. You really feel a connection to Jade and her situation. It is truly terrible and you will feel for her. I enjoyed this book so much. The second book can't get here fast enough. I need more. Again, that ending. Oh my goodness. You got to check this out, you will definitely fall in love.

I’ll admit, when I read the synopsis, I was not automatically intrigued. I hadn’t read a whole lot of erotic suspense but I was willing to give it a go. I am so glad I did because not only did it keep me on the edge of my seat, but there was some steamy goodness along the way!
Jade works for The Seductors, a secret agency involved in such activities as industrial espionage and assassination, among other questionably legal activities. Jade is one of their top performing agents, using anything, but most importantly her feminine wiles, to get the job done. Agents are on a ten-year contract and their lives essentially belong to the agency. It isn’t until their contracts are over that they can go back to their own lives, or create one in order to live out the rest of their lives. It pays big, but the sacrifices agents must make for the job are questionable. Will there ever be life on the outside?
Oliver is the CEO of his own company and a bazillionaire. His company manufactures parts for different defense companies and they are currently working on a project that could change the shape of warfare as we know it. Jade is assigned to gather information on a set of blueprints for a specific part, and she must seduce Oliver in order to accomplish that. One of the biggest rules the agents must abide by is to never fall for their mark, never get involved. Unfortunately as Jade becomes closer and closer to Oliver, she does just that. She begins to question whether she can cross Oliver and possibly ruin him.
The heat between Jade and Oliver is molten, but it becomes readily apparent that there is more to the relationship than just sex. The characters are believable and the storyline riveting. The attraction between the two of them is palpable and leaves you desperate for more.
Desire had me from the very first page and it was a wild ride! This is the first book in the series and you’ll want to read them in order because they build upon each other. Just when you think everything is resolved at the end of the book, out of nowhere, there is a new twist and a cliffhanger smacks you in the face. I hate cliffhangers, but at least the major part of the story that was the focus of the book is resolved and the plot is nicely set for the next book. I was happy I was able to dive right into the next volume of the series, Hunger. I am anxious to see the way things are going to play out and if Oliver and Jade will ever get their happily ever after. This one was a 4 ½ star read for me.
I was seduced by this book in every way imaginable. The sensual side to the book was wonderfully written, the love story at least on Oliver's part was beautiful and the betrayal stung like a bee even for the reader. The writing lures you in and grabs hold of you and never lets you go until the very end.
I have to say this. Jade is a succubus a evil selfish destructive succubus. Oh yes her job is a seductor. And she is good at it. she is really a trollop with a better name. She seduces to steal from people. Gets men to fall for her so she can steal things from them and earn money. Why she became one is anyones guess because this devil in innocent's clothing is so closed off we find out nothing of her past. We do know she is to steal from Oliver and what she is to take if put in the wrong hands will kill innocent people. Does she care? Nooo. Why? It's her job. Pffttt....Get some galhounes youngin and own up to being a selfish evil succubus. Oh she gets Oliver alright and gets him good. this sweet kind generous man falls head over heals for this evil vile creature and trusts her with everything. he feels safe with her and opens up his life and home to her. He rearranges his work schedule so he can see her and even brings her to meet the family. Tells her he loves her and takes care of her when she is sick. And what does she do? She throws that in his face and does the unthinkable. Oh she says its for love and that she doesn't want him to be killed. bullshite! She was saving her own butt and doing her job. If she loved him she would have confessed to him and they could work out a solution. She would have trusted him to make a decision and help her. But no she just takes and takes. Takes his heart and rips it to shreds, takes his trust and destroys it, takes his life and throws it in the gutter, takes his love and laughs at it. takes his company's future as well. Does she even think about what she is doing to Oliver? No because that is not her job. She says she is even acts like she does but she is a seductor afterall and they are great at acting. We saw that at the beginning. Poor Poor Oliver.
A book about using the power of seduction to get what you want even if it destroys, a book of love and trust and how fragile it can be. I am wondering how Oliver is going to handle everything in the next book when he wakes up and everything crashes down on him. Poor guy!
A book that seduces you to the end and leaves you hanging out on the limb for more.
Like some have said before me, Desire definitely lives up to its name! I read it in one sitting, only because I couldn’t stop turning the pages to find out what would happen next. The storyline is interesting, the characters engaging, and the sex? Hot, hot, hot! I also love all of the secondary characters in this first story of this series. They’re all interesting, and I’m dying to know more about Molly, Drew, Georgie, and heck, even Mario.
Jade is one of the top Seducers in her company. She knows how to manipulate, and control her targets into doing exactly what she needs them to do. She’s funny, quick witted and had me laughing with her internal dialogue throughout the earlier chapters of the book. Things are looking up for her when she scores a big contract, but things take a turn when she meets her target; Oliver Kirkham.
Oliver is the CEO of Kirkham Industries, billionaire though not a playboy which I found to be refreshing. He’s a complete sweetheart, really, always concerned about Jade and never forcing her into doing anything that she’s not comfortable with. He isn’t ashamed of his wealthy status, though he wants nothing more than to have someone in his life that doesn’t see the money that he has, and he believes that he’s found that in Jade.
Has he really found that in her, or has he fallen for the persona that Jade projects for him? The rules might be tossed out the door for this one, but I think it’s best if you check it out and see what happens for yourself.
B.L. Wilde takes us on a wild ride of seduction, lies and love, leaving us with more questions than answers by the end. I give this book a solid 4 stars, and can’t wait to see what happens next!

Desire holds true to it's title. It's an interesting story with a unique plot that is fueled by desire. Jade is a top agent where she practices the art of seduction in order to get information or goods from targets. She's worked the job flawlessly without breaking the first rule of not getting attached. Until she meets her new target young billionaire Oliver Kirkham. Oliver awakens her to feelings that have been dormant for her for a long time. He's charismatic and wears his heart on his sleeve. Their story ignites from their very first encounter. The writing is engaging and the plot flows easily making Desire a quicker read. I didn't feel that we got a lot of depth of character from Jade. Realizing that her career is a reason for that, I still feel as though I want to know more about her and her life before she became a seductor. There is a blatant mystery that swirls around Jade, and while I liked that for Oliver as the reader I wanted more from her character. Without that, I felt a disconnect to the characters. However, her character is fiercely independent and a great example of a great heroine. The story did hold my attention and I found the plot refreshing in it's uniqueness. Usually billionaire men are paired with damsels in distress and I really liked that Jade isn't even close to being that damsel. The books ends in kind of a cliff hanger, it's not a cliff hanger where you're clutching the Kindle and screaming for more but Desire leaves you well desiring a little more. I'm excited for the second book to see where Jade and Oliver's journey takes us.
Wow!!!!!! Can I say WOW again? The plot was sexy and unique. The interaction between Oliver and Jade was fun and so cute. I love reading their dialogues- light-hearted and witty. The chemistry between them was intense, but heart warming...I found myself saying, awwww...so many times.
This was a story of a Seductor spy/thief, Jade, with a secret mission to steal some valuable information that belonged to none other than multi-billionaire Oliver Kirkham- war weapon specialist. Jade is the top agent in her line of work- beautiful, ruthless and never fails a mission. Taking on this new job was just another task for her until she catches her first glimpse of Oliver- tall, dark and handsome. Will she be able to accomplish this mission or fail because of how Oliver changes her heart? Read and find out;)
I enjoyed this book immensely. From the very beginning it gave off a fun vibe to me. I read it in one setting and could not put it down. Jade is a very self sufficient, independent woman. Her line of work is not something I would choose but she makes it work for her. When she meets Oliver he is just another mark but she quickly discovers that he means more to her than anyone ever has. They work up quite a lot of steam together. Ultimately she has no choice but to follow through with the steal as the other option is unthinkable to her. At the end of the book I was left wanting more!! I want to see what happens after Jade makes her choice and I have a few ideas from foreshadowing that I would love to see come true.
I'm not the biggest fan of erotica, so this was a little iffy for me going in. I thought it would be better because its plot sounded interesting: Men and women who work for an agency who seduce people to find out business secrets, plots for bad things, microchips etc, but Jade--the main character--starts to have feelings for her target.
I'm not sure if it was the writing style or just the way the author had decided to play the story out but I couldn't get into it. It was really heavy on the sex in that first 25% and like I said not a fan of too much sex.
I really need to stay away from books that are more sex than romance.
B.L. Wilde is on par with the best in this genre. With "Desire" the first in the Seductors Series I am already fiending for the next installment. This is non-stop intrigue, sex-capades, titillating, sizzling, and on the edge of your seat plain fun read. Jade Phillips is the number one Seductor and always gets her targets with the 1-2-Sex-Boom-Pow. Does she break the code of ethics when she takes on the mission of seducing multi-billionaire Oliver Kirkham? I was routing for both of them the entire time. Awww Amore'!!!
OMG! Let me start by saying OLIVERRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRR! This book is so tasty. We have Jade, a Seductor, and Oliver, the target (hint, hint). From the beginning I was so taken in. The plot is so dang delicious. This book is sexy and smart and fun and funny . I love love love the characters and I was like DAYUM at the end... For real like DAYUM. You are missing out if you do not real this book. Darn a Good read this is a Great read!!!
Right this is going to be a quick and short review as i really need to start book 2 of this series !!!! ABSOLUTELY LOVED IT !!!! Soooooooo Jealous of Jade meeting Oliver, but not jealous of the way they meet due to obvious reasons. It really got me gripped and HOT DAMN can i get an Oliver please !!!!
Three things crossed my mind reading this: Joss Whedon did it better, thank God this is a series, and I'm glad I read this after dark.
If you've seen Whedon's Dollhouse? You know the plot of this novel. Someone else mentioned Alias and I heard a few references to Chuck, too, but seriously, axe the bit where the "dolls" are mindwiped after each mission and you've got the same scenario. This is a trope. It's a fun trope, makes for an interesting read, and amuses me, but it's not original by any means. Jade is a "Seductor" which means she's signed a decade of her life away in exchange for a life lived virtually outside the bounds of the law. Seductors are paid to do whatever it takes to acquire what the client wants from a target. They're trained to defend themselves, to kill if necessary, and yes to use their bodies if that's what it takes to accomplish the mission. Seductors are taught to be cameleons who blend seamlessly into the lives of their targets in order to gain their trust to get whatever their clients are after.
It's interesting as a premise, I say Whedon did it better because I preferred his interpretation of this trope. Why? Because I liked that the "dolls" didn't have to live with the consequences of their actions. They got to do terrible things to potential decent people for a cash payout without ever remembering any of it. Jade doesn't have that luxury. The Seductors just get to live with the fact that they're blackmailing, murdering, stealing, prostituting themselves, and whatever else you want to add into that mix to get the job done; they seem to be fine with it which is a little sketchy to me since most people have a moral compass that would make that less than fantastic for them.
Do I have a problem with people who lack a moral compass? No. I love horror. I enjoy gore and I love dark fiction, but the reader is meant to empathize with Jade and she's honestly not an individual I found it easy to empathize with on any level. She's in love with her position. She's the top of the Seductor food chain. The only reason she starts to re-think her job or the missions assigned to her is because of Oliver Kirkham who is her target for Desire TSS #1 and there's really no full explanation for her change of heart beyond he's a good guy who is great in bed.
Oliver really is, by all appearances, a great guy. He's good-looking, wealthy, and the traditionally portrayed sex god when it comes to the bedroom. As a reader, I found him easy to empathize with as I learned more about him throughout the course of the work. He's a guy who takes care of his family, his business, and maintains a level of humility that is at odds with his wealth and social status.
He's a good guy. It's easy to like a good guy.
Jade is only moderately more revealed to the reader than she is to Oliver. We're clued in to the fact that she's playing him. It's shown that she begins to have doubts about the mission she's working as she falls for him though it never really delves into who she is as an individual. She's a mystery. I know very little about her outside of her thoughts on sex, her skills as a Seductor, and that family is a hot-button topic for her.
That's why I say thank God this is a series. It's well-written to the point that I would tune in for the next episode to find out more about Jade though I honestly would rather know more about the other members of her crew. I loved Drew. Molly made me laugh. I'm intrigued by Georgie and I even wouldn't mind knowing more about that jerk Mario. At least he realizes he's a tool which makes him amusing. I'd read more about this world. It's got an episodic feel to it which is very appealing to me as I'm a consummate fangirl.
I like "Monster of the Week" television shows so absolutely! Loved the pilot!
I'd also point out it's very much a "late night" or "reading after dark" read since there's a lot of sex in it---as in, way more than I was expecting, potentially every chapter contains it, possibly there are chapters that are nothing except sex, that amount of sex. It was verging on: I've-read-porn-with-less-sex-than-this. It's definitely a hot-and-heavy read. I'd recommend it to anyone who liked erotica.
Overall, I'd rate this one a solid 4 stars since I'm interested enough to want more, will read the sequel, and did enjoy it as an intro to the series. I do hope we either get more of Jade's personality/backstory in the sequel or book 2 is told from some other character's POV since I, personally, would rather see more there. Good start! I'll be back for episode 2!

In Desire by B. L. Wilde, we have the pleasure to go alongside Jade Phillips—Jade Gibbs in this situation—in her mission as a Seductor to steal something from a very important target, Oliver Kirkham, a beautiful and wealthy CEO.
Jade is the best at her job; she can make anyone fall at her feet with a bat of an eye, and she does just that with Oliver. But being the best in your line of work, and always respecting the rules, can get tricky after five years of doing it, especially when your target is Mister Kirkham.
“WOW!!” That was my very first thought after I have finished Desire. I cannot tell you in words how much I liked it! Even though this book had a lot of sex scenes, I think that the amount of erotica, combined with the actual plot is just perfect. I wish more erotica authors would take notes and read this book to see when the amount of sex is enough and switch to the plot. I think it is physically impossible for Oliver to go at it so many times in one night, but hey, he does represent the image of the perfect man!
Jade’s appearance can be compared with one of an angel. She is a tall blonde with clear blue eyes. She is the image of perfection! But also, with her beauty comes her intelligence, confidence, power and focus. *sigh* I wish I were like her. She has every man at her feet, but sadly she doesn’t give in to anyone.
I have fallen deeply for Oliver. I love how gentle, caring and loving the powerful CEO is. As he always says, wealth doesn’t define him, and I definitely saw that. Mister Kirkham is absolutely taken with Jade, and my heart couldn’t break more at the thought of him getting his heart shattered. B.L. Wilde managed very well to describe indirectly and directly Oliver’s feelings for Jade, and I wish he doesn’t ever find out what she really is doing.
Throughout the whole book, I wished Jade would let herself go and fall for Oliver. I am sure she has some feelings for him, and I wish we weren’t left with such a cliffhanger and saw what she really thought of him. My only drawback about this book is its ending. When I read the last page and intended to turn to the next one, I was profoundly disappointed to see that it ended. So, Miss Wilde, please hurry up and finish writing the sequel, ‘cause I am ready to read it!
All in all, I loved Desire! Bee Wilde managed to describe the characters, places, actions *wink wink* *nudge nudge* perfectly! Honestly, I cannot wait for the sequel to see what happens to Jade and Oliver. What were his thoughts waking up, and what will Jade do now? This novel is a real must for every erotica lover, and even to those who are not as passionate about it, but look for a fun drama-romance read.
Rating: 5 out of 5 honey pots
Sally's Review:
B.L. Wilde definitely gives erotica authors a run for their money with this book!
I was hooked on from the prologue and just could not put this book down! It is amazing! We meet Jade, a Seductor in a secret organization hired to obtain information or items by wealthy clients. She's five years into her contract and is the best at her job—at least until she's assigned a certain hottie CEO as her next target. Oliver Kirkham is a young entrepreneur and CEO of his family's company, taking over from his father at a young age. Sparks fly right off the page when these two meet and you'll definitely find yourself in need of a nice tall glass of water to cool off.
Although this story has a lot of fantastic, extremely HOT sex scenes that leave you panting for more, it's not overdone like some of today's erotica authors. There's a perfect balance of lust, sex, and plot. Some characters make you fall in love with them from the beginning, and others make you want to reach into the page and ring their scrawny little necks.
When you read Desire, you'll laugh, you'll cry, you'll need a few cold showers, and you'll scream when the book ends, not wanting to believe that Miss Wilde would leave it where she did. There was no other way it could be though, and when you read it, you'll understand. The good news is that there's a book two already in the works and it will definitely be on my list to get the day it comes out!!
So thank you, B.L. Wilde for this incredible book that I've now read more times than I care to admit! Desire has it ALL!!! And dare I say it...yes, I do!
In my humble opinion, it's 1000x better than 50 Shades of Grey!
I feel I have to start off by telling you guys that I had no idea what to expect when I picked up Desire. I had been told of B.L. Wilde as a fan fiction writer but with everything going on I hadn't had a chance to actually read her work. When I get review request I pick them based on if I find them interesting, which I know sounds redundant but you'd be surprised by how many bloggers accept requests just to get the free book. I was a little bit unsure at the beginning, I knew the blurb I read sounded like a really interesting take on a suspenseful romance but I was a little worried. I didn't have a reason to be. The book opens with Jade half way into a ten year contract with what amounts to a clandestine organization that. You want something stolen, they are who you hire. The difference between them and let's say mercenaries? These guys use sex to get what they want, and Jade is the best they have. Her next mission is an easy information grab, or it should have been. Oliver, her mark however, makes it increasingly difficult to keep her objectivity.
One of my favorite things about this book is the way Jade never apologizes for what she does. She starts out the book as a woman who is completely at peace with what she does. It would be really easy to end up hating her but B.L. does a great job humanizing her as the story progresses. As the reader you never feel like the development is rushed, it all happens very naturally. B.L. does something really smart with Jade when she makes her self aware in certain situations. She is fully aware that Oliver has feelings for the Jade she created for his benefit and not who she really is. And Oliver is kind of endearing. He is very sweet to read and the whole time I personally wondered how he would act if he was dealing with the real Jade and not the one tailored to him.
Besides great characters we get a great plot. A really fast paced story that once you start, you'll find difficult to put down. Be forewarned though, there are some seriously steamy scenes in here. B.L. does not pull punches when she writes sex scenes. I will say they are for the most part tasteful and always in place with the story. You wont really find a sex scene just for the hell of it. There are even a few places we get a fade to black moment, which is great because they just would have been sex for the sake of porn. For those of you that have read my reviews before you know how I feel about cliffhangers. That being said that is pretty much the only reason this isn't a five star review. Don't get me wrong, the cliffhanger is done really well, I just need to know!!!!!! While the story itself isn't predictable as you're reading it, once you finish you absolutely look back and think, "Well, of course that's what happened". I don't know about you guys but to me that's a good story. I was so involved with the story as it was happening I couldn't spare a second to try and figure it out before the end.
Bottom line is if you like a little suspense with your romance you should definitely pick up Desire. I know I'll be picking up book two, which I hear is in the works as you read this.
What would you do if your job was seducing unsuspecting people for someone else’s gain? How would you handle allowing a target cloud your judgement towards the job that you’re on? These are some of the questions that Jade is faced with after working for a secret organization of Seductors.
Over the past 5 years she has gotten really good at her job and it makes it so much more easier that she actually enjoys what she’s doing. Jade finally gets the one case that is almost too much for her to handle, she’s given that task of retrieving some sensitive information from Kirkham Industries CEO, Oliver Kirkham.
So I have to be honest and admit that when I actually grasped all what being a top Seductors really was, I kinda felt like they were just super spy-like prostitutes. Ok so it wasn’t kinda, that’s what I thought and I’m really having a hard time thinking otherwise.
Jade has a true talent for getting what she wants and does not feel guilty about her position one bit. Things changed when the Seductor was seduced by the target. After her first encounter with Oliver, Jade was never the same. Jade couldn’t believe just how simple it was for Oliver to take over her thoughts and do things to her body that she never thought possible.
I liked Jade she despite her focus and loyalty to her job she has a conscience and for me it made her more human.
Oliver Kirkham is different from most of the overly wealthy alpha males that I have been in many books that I’ve read as of late, which is refreshing. Despite his primal desire for Jade, he’s not stalker like and far from that I need to control your every move syndrome.
As I progressed through Desire I was on the edge of my seat wondering if Jade would complete her mission. On some level I was hoping somehow circumstances would change where Oliver would not get hurt. I actually developed a soft for him.
While Desire did come full circle it still had that cliffhanger vibe. I got to the last page and almost passed out. I wanna know what happens now. So almost immediately I looked to see when I would be able to get my greedy hands on Vol. 2 I learn that I have to suffer until June, 2014. Now I have a pouty face.
Wow. I have to say that this is my first actual erotica novel. I have to say… I’m impressed. When I thought about erotica always thought that it would lack a storyline and be graphic. Well, my opinions were half right. This novel definitely has a brilliant storyline behind it, and yes – it was graphic. I didn’t think that I would be able to handle Erotica, but I guess now that I’m older, my reading has become more risqué. This novel enthralled me. Honestly – I couldn’t get enough.
“You make me hum with a need I’ve never felt before. A desire that I can feel in every cell of my body.”
I loved the concept of this book. The whole spy-ish thing doesn’t usually grab my interest but the originality of this made me squirm with anticipation. I mean it really made me think about the fact that there are probably people out there like the seductors. I’m so beyond intrigued! No joke, I could only wish to do something like that. Yes, some may say it’s degrading, but it’s so amazing. This book was a breath of fresh air, I felt so exhilarated while reading it. B. L. Wilde definitely wrote a winner with this one. I finished this book a few days ago and I’m still thinking about it. Talk about a book hangover.
The characters in this book were super sexy and exuberating. Jade was a strong vixen, who knows what she’s good at and performed her duties as a seductor to the highest qualifications – making her the best. I almost didn’t think I would like her at first, being as how she is cocky. But then I thought about it… There isn’t anything wrong with being playful and cocky if you can back it up, and Jade could most definitely back it up. Jade is given the largest and most coveted mission of all the seductors. Then she actually meets her Target, Oliver. Oliver is the embodiment of sex. He’s wealthy, a CEO of his own company and just absolutely delicious. The chemistry between the two of them is absolute genius.
B.L. Wilde did an astonishing job with the imagery and the sexy scenes. I devoured this, and if I didn’t have to work and if I didn’t pass out from exhaustion – I would have devoured it in its entirety. The whole secrecy of the job kept me on the edge of my seat. I really liked how you get a backround history on the workings of the Seductors. B.L. reminds you of the severity of complications that can occur if you defect from the plan laid out for you.
I adored this book and can’t wait for the second novel. I truly hope that it will have more to do with Jade and Oliver. However I would like to see more into the support characters of Georgie and Drew. While this book had very strong sexual situations, there was definitely a lot of emotions and angst to go along with it. I fell in love with the characters, and the story. I know for a fact that you will too. I strongly recommend this book, as long as you’re ok with super sexual scenes and a lot of them. I promise the story behind the sexy times is just as amazing as the scenes themselves. B.L. Wilde has a new fan in me, that’s for sure. I seriously can’t wait for book 2, either!!!!!
what the hell! it can't end like that. I need book two, NOW!
I was given a copy for this book in exchange for an honest review.
Desire takes an interesting spin on the dirtier side of espionage by focusing solely on the more amorous side of things. Personally, I was actually really fascinated with the concept because espionage and intelligence gathering were some of the things I’ve studied in university haha. But no, don’t go thinking that this is your standard fare for spy erotica because it really isn’t.
The book takes us through the heroine, Jade, and her current mission. It’s the biggest mission in her firm/agency and there’s a lot of pressure and expectations on her. As I said, I was really fascinated by the concept so I enjoyed reading the interactions between her coworkers. It didn’t really delve deep about the agency and which lettered-organizations it works with/for but it was definitely interesting going with Jade and co. on their missions. They seem to be a very interesting bunch and I have a feeling they’ll pop-up some more in the future books. (I can’t really think of another word besides interesting right now, but I do mean this in the sincere “I really want to know more” interesting :D )
Speaking of feelings, Oliver and Jade certainly had a lot of emotionfeelings and pantsfeelings towards each other. The sex between these two was definitely sizzling. So hot. I can’t words right now. Just yeah. Trust me on this.
My one problem with the whole book is that I felt like we didn’t really get to know Jade a lot? I’m a big sucker for the shy heroine/rake-playboy hero so you know, I was disappointed that it was an act and at the same time really curious about who Jade was. On an emotional level, I got to know how Jade felt but there were so many hints about her past and unsettling foreshadowing about the rules and codes. It really wouldn’t have made sense if Jade just started blurting out details about her past as if she was talking to the reader, but I am immensely curious and I just want to knooooooow. Also I have a really bad feeling about Mario right now. I don’t like it.
To sum it up, I am a bit lost as to how to properly review this book because it ended in a weird cliffhanger. Weird because it definitely answered some things regarding her mission, her feelings, etc but then it opened up a whole can of questions that I suppose will be answered int he next book? Will it?
So, if you’re looking for a different take on a spy romance but heavy on the erotica, Desire would be a good read. I just found this book really fascinating. I think B.L. Wilde has a unique take on the whole spy romance thing. I’m still on the fence on whether I’d read the next book. I guess I would if it answered all the questions I have and if it revealed who the real Jade was. I’m now going to try and process all the theories I have in my head now.
“Rule #3: Case files are confidential. Anyone found sharing information will be dealt with accordingly.
Everyone knew the ‘dealt with accordingly’ part couldn’t be good, so no one had
broken the rule while I’d been here to actually find out.”
This rule on page 12 gives you an idea just how devoted the Seductors are to their craft. And are they devoted. It’s pretty obvious to say that sex plays a big part in this story and new series by B.L. Wilde, but it’s more than just sex. There are amazing characters, both the real character and the Seductor character they create to reach their objectives. I was intrigued at the idea of a female James Bond-like company and I was not disappointed.
“Rule #1: Seductors must never get attached to their target. If this happens, the mission will be classified as a Code 1 and any further contact between the target and Seductor will be terminated.”
“I had no conscience when it came to stealing, nor did I care who wanted these
blueprints. Clients had the choice of remaining anonymous to the chosen Seductor—as
was the case with this job—but I never thought about the outcome anyway. This was
business. It was all about the money, and this deal was worth five million dollars. It was
the biggest mission I’d ever been assigned to, and I would succeed. There was no doubt
in my mind.”
Rule number one and Jade’s own inner monologue explains perfectly how and why she goes into the Seductor character without a second thought to what repercussions her actions or findings may lead to. It’s a very interesting blend of loving and despising Jade, as if she’s two completely different characters instead of one who simply separates herself from her working persona. It seems that her heart may have finally met it’s match in her latest target file in Oliver Kirkham, but will she let her heart win out? You know me, I don’t do spoilers so you have to read Desire if you want to discover the answer to the mystery of Jade’s heart. I will say that you will not be disappointed and I for one am longing for the next installment of the Seductors series. Sexy, adventure, sexy, intrigue, sexy, romance, sexy, humor, sexy, passion, and did I mention sexy? It’s all here. Oliver is the kind of man that most of us dream about and Jade is definitely the free spirited, independent, and strong woman most of us want to be. And because of Miss Wilde’s amazing writing we feel that we are not only reading Jade and Oliver’s story but actually experiencing it. Can’t wait to see what this author brings us in the future.
Small disclaimer - Since this review, the cover has changed and I have to say the new one is ABSOLUTELY PERFECT!
4.5 out of 5 for this reader folks!
WOW .. well that was a totally different (in a great way) and SUPER HOT read. Desire by B.L. Wilde is most definitely classified as an erotic novel. While the smut was yummy and plentiful, I have to say the actual storyline was quite unique and not something I have come across before (not that I can think of right now anyway ...lol).
Meet sexy, strong minded, nothing gets in her way, Jade. Jade is an employee to a company called "The Seductors". These are men and woman who are trained in the art of seduction in order to manipulate a "target". Clients hire a seductor for many reasons. A seductor is trained to be the best, and not just the best at seduction. A seductor is held to a high standard of fitness, personal image, special ops, and yes .. SEX! Jade is considered to be a top seductor within the company. She can manipulate and distance herself from any target she has been given, and ALWAYS gets the job done!
Jade's latest target is Oliver, the CEO of a company that specializes on nuclear weapons. Jade's mission is simple ... seduce Oliver and get close enough to extract essential files on his computer. Easy enough for the top seductor right??? Ya ... not so much! ;) What Jade doesn't expect, is to have her mind blown by this wicked and wonderful man. For the first time, Jade is somewhat feeling a little trumped and is experiencing feelings that have no business in surfacing. Oliver rocks her world in ways that make him the hardest target she has ever had.
So much more to this story .. I am not giving you any more goodies. LOL I will say, I was captivated by the story, and the smut made my toes curl in the best way ever. These two lit my e-reader on fire! ;) It was intense at times, especially reading how Jade lowers her walls and let's Oliver see her vulnerable side. Lines get blurred as the relationship progresses, leaving Jade to question if a mission is in fact worth it.
The writing was excellent. I was completely drawn in. My only negative remarks will be about the cover and the ending. The cover needs to match this amazing book, and right now it looks a little on the cheap side. The ending .. hard to comment on this without giving much away, so all I'll say is that I was a little confused if I was left with a cliffhanger or a true ending. I guess I'll find out when her next book in this series is released! ;)
I was given this free in exchange for an honest review. I give it 4.5 stars, but Goodreads doesn't allow halfsies - dammit Goodreads!
:o/ !!
*Caution: may contain spoilers*
This is one of those books that makes you sit up at 1:00am going "whaaaaa....." And that's exactly what I did. It is told from Jade's POV. She is a spy at an agency called "The Seductors" and it is appropriately titled. Gorgeous women and men work almost as 007 type agents stealing whatever they need to for well paying checks. Jade is one of the top women-if not THE top woman- at her agency. All's fair in love and war, until she's assigned to Oliver Kirkham,a young, rich, and very attractive CEO of Kirkham Industries, a weapons manufacturing company. Jade's job is to steal some very important blueprints. At first it's business as usual. But since there are several properties involved she's on the job for over 2 months. Time goes by, the sex is AMAZING and little by little, each is falling in love with the other.
Sure, there was a lot of sex in this and one may argue it was a bit excessive, but I didn't mind it. I personally wouldn't think a man in his position would fall in love as easily as he does, but I'll go with it for the sake of the story. He even asked her to move to his NY apt with him.
Jade's resolve crumbles little by little, and I honestly wondered whether she indeed would cave or finish the job as she was supposed to. At the very end, she did in fact steal the documents via Oliver's main computer while he slept. She took one last peak at the only man she ever really loved, and snuck out quietly only to disappear from his life forever. Bear in mind, if she hadn't finished the job, it would have meant Oliver's life.
Jade's past was only touched upon very lightly and you get the impression that there was some sort of tragedy or major psychological trauma. I wished it would have been elaborated a bit. I feel it would have given Jade a bit more of a human trait. We would have been able to see why she was so heartless and cold for so long, only thawing out for this one man who she inevitably must betray, only this time not out of choice.
I was glad to read about a strong female lead who does what she has to, as opposed to so many books who make a woman do what she wants and the man do what "he has to". In that regard, this was a refreshing read.
It was a sad ending, but life isn't always happy and we sometimes have to make tough decisions with our heads as opposed to our hearts.
I received this ARC from the author for my honest review and being a bit hesitant (because this is my first review), I was very pleased with this book. I guess I was more than pleased with the book, I fell in LOVE with it! I totally fell in love with Jade and now have a new book-boyfriend (Oliver). This is one of those books that make up stay up to 2am and try to finish all in one sitting.
The story starts out with our heroine Jade, who is the strong, no nonsense type of girl. She works for a company (The Seductors) that employs only the prettiest and handsomest people around. Their company's main goal while working is to get the information needed by client by anyways necessary. And according to Jade, "Sex—it can get you anything.”
Jade (being one of the companies best seducers) is given the top account. Get top secret blueprints from the playboy CEO, Oliver Kirkham. This mission, which Jade feels is a piece of cake soon takes on a whole different field when she meets him. By ditching her "Balls to the Wall" attitude, the now shy Jade makes contact with her target and immediately sparks fly. Their world wind weekend together soon leads to multiple visits in different states and even the meeting of family members. Oliver can read Jade like a book and some point that makes her panic. But putting her emotions in check, she pushes through the task at hand. With all of this can Jade keep up this act without breaking her company's number one rule? Or will she abandon the mission, due to her feelings, and put Oliver's life at risk?
With all the hot sex in this book, you would think that it would overshadow the main story, however it doesn't. The main story will make you fall in love with each character and understand their specific situations. Ms. Wilde has brilliantly written this story, so much so that I defiantly had to read it again. I feel in love with Oliver, who could be so sweet and thoughtful but then the next minute his "Inner Alpha Male" comes out. And lets just say Jade is the ultimate bad-ass that every girl wants to be.
When reading this book, you will receive a major shock......THE ENDING. This cliff hanger leaves you wanting so much more from this story and from this couple. Ms. Wilde has defiantly set the stage for the second book witch according to her Goodreads page is due out in June. I can't wait, I want so much more for this couple.
DESIRE I received Complimentary copy provided by author/publisher for an honest review of this book to give an honest review that I will post to Amazon as well as Goodreads. It will be added to my blog for any blog tour going of the book at this time. Jade works as seductor and her job requires her to get close to people and get stuff for other people. She has been at her job for the past five years. Her boss Sonia has decided to put Jade on a big assignment for the company that could me in big money. They are hired to get blue prints for a weapon from a guy name Oliver Kirkham. He is the CEO of the company and is in her early thirty’s so Jade will be going to London to meet him for the first time. On their first meeting the seductor is to learn as much as they can so they can use this to the advantage to get in really good with the “steal”. Jade and Oliver’s first meeting has gone very well she able to get him to bring her up to his room after dinner. She is play the shy subdued type which not her normal role. Her cover for this job is an Art lover. They have two days together in London and Oliver has really fallen for Jade and has decided that he must see here again when they are back in the states. So she tell him that he can visit her at her penthouse. Part of the requirements for being a seductor is to always be in good shape and on your game no matter what is going on. They have monthly fitness test. Jason is one of their fitness coaches. He is also one of four hit men too. If a mission fails the hit men come in get the product that was to be stolen and then take care of the target by any means. They have done things such as had it look like they had an accident or a burglary gone wrong. They had to be careful and never take any chances. Jade had to get to the penthouse to get it ready for Oliver’s visit to make it look like she really lived there. She would plant all kinds of different things around the place. Pictures, books, CD’s and anything else to make it look as if she really has lived there for a very long time. To help insure with her cover of her job she has Oliver come with her to her office one day while he is visiting. They have one of the other girls from the firm there as well to assist with the pulling off the job. There is so much more that happens that I don’t want to give away much more. Pick up a copy of Desire and find out for yourself what Jade does with Oliver.
************I was offered this book in exchange for an honest review**************** OMG OMG OMG , where to start ....I started reading this book at 11 am this morning and had read the full book 5 hours later, I never in my wildest dreams thought this book would grip me like it did. It had my arse perched firmly on the edge of my seat the whole way through.
We first meet Jade, she is a Seductor who works for a secret organisation, she has worked for this company for 5 year's and its apparent that she is the best at what she does, which is retieve items for client's by any means necessary. Thing's are running smoothly in her job/life that is until she is sent on a massive mission. She has to retrieve some very valuable blueprint's from Hot/Young CEO Oliver Kirkham of Kirkham industries a weapons manufacturing company, in the wrong hands these blueprint's have the potential to cause alot of people harm. The chemistry between Jade and Oliver is apparent right from the beginning, it's very Erotic im so glad I read alone (blushes). It's a love story with a massive twist, you may find yourself hating Jade's character in part's, especially when it becomes apparent that Oliver starts to have serious feelings for her, Can she let herself feel for him? Is she capable? After all shes basically a prostitute sent there to do a job & feelings are no way included in the job description infact feelings are forbidden, there are rules set in place and if they are broken they can put her and Oliver grave danger. I do feel there is alot more to Jade that meets the eye, things pop up in the book that make me question how she began to work for this company. I hope to find out more about this in the next book. Bee certainly leaves you craving more after the cliffhanger ending, I felt myself screaming NOOOOOOOOOO at my kindle. If you love books that are full of Passion, Drama and Angst then this definitely is the book for you. It will leave you needing a cold shower with all the sex scenes in it. I dont think hot is the right word im looking for to describe this book. ?....maybe Inferno is a better one. ♥♥♥♥♥♥ I didn't want to give too much away in this review as I didnt want to ruin the experience for people, but I cant stress this enough people NEED to read this........ im so looking forward to reading the next addition. Bee Wilde is truly an amazing author and I'm glad I had the pleasure to read her work.
