Me likey. Very interested to see where the rest of this story goes. Good for a very short novella. Jus the right amount of information to whet your appetite for the characters, enough sex to make it hot and enough drama to want to know where the rest of the story is going.

I will check the rest out later after my BR.

I found myself in the clutches of an arousal so strong there was nothing else. No fear. No trepidation. No worries or concern. Just a need to be filled, a hunger to be sated, a fire to quench.

Nikki was a young naive college student bored out of her mind with her repetitive life, tempted to live on the wild side with her room-mate Lucy she agrees to a day where she can let everything all hang out and enjoy life, but it may be all a bit too much for her. Super short intro to this series, I picked it up to get a flavor of what it was all about, but sadly it didn’t grab me enough to want to continue.

It didn't grab me and I think it's because it was short. I didn't connect with the characters and therefore have really no ambition to read the next one.

My review for Oil and Leather and Sons of Mayhem 2: Blood and Whisky .

Why I Read this Book: The first book was (and still is at the time this review posted) a Kindle freebie so I picked it up. Then I had some Kobo coupon codes to use so I also picked up parts 2-4. Let me just note that this is a 4-part serial. I usually do not read serials because (1) the price is too steep for my taste and (2) I don’t like being left waiting, usually with a cliffhanger ending, for the next installment. But because of the great deal I got on the installments and the fact that all four installments had already been released, I went for it.

What I Didn’t Like: There were too many similarities between this serial and the FX hit TV series Sons of Anarchy (henceforth SOA), beginning with Exhibit A: the name. Exhibit B: You have Jase (Jax), the club VP with “dirty blonde hair” and “cool blue eyes”. Brodie (Opie), Jase’s best friend, has “a full beard which hung down to his chest”. Exhibit C: Even some of the dialogue reminded me of SOA. “Don’t worry. I’ve got this.” – Jase (Jax). “What the fuck Jasey-boy.” – Bottle (Chibs). Exhibit D: Some of the Sons of Mayhem (henceforth SOM) members ride Harley Dyna Super Glides, like some of the guys from SOA. Exhibit E: Jase’s sanctuary is on “the roof of the Sons of Mayhem headquarters”. Like how Jax from SOA would retreat to the rooftop of the SOA headquarters for a moment of peace and to collect his thoughts. Exhibit F: “Lonnie and Brodie had a thing going with some women; putting the party chicks to work as they called it, but that shit hadn’t gotten all that far yet.” – I’m not sure exactly what this means but it sounds a little bit like the Diosa escort business in SOA. Exhibit G: An opportunity comes to the table for a vote for the SOM to distribute Crystal Meth. Like how SOA got into mulling Cocaine. Exhibit H: One of the SOM members was brutally murdered, like in SOA. Bigfella, the president of SOM, was arrested for a double homicide. There isn’t any evidence, yet, but I only read two of the four installments. Clay (SOA’s president) was arrested for triple homicide in season one. Clay was later released due to lack of evidence.

The narration was a bit all over the place. The first installment was completely Nicole’s POV. Part 2 had multiple POV narration from Jase, Nicole, Brodie, and a villain’s point of view.

There were some inconsistencies. In the 2nd installment, the villain rides in a truck that later becomes a van when he exits the vehicle. Then when the villain returns to the vehicle, it’s a truck again. Then there was this line: “As I undid the buttons of his shorts I felt his boxers pushing out.” – I don’t understand how boxers can be pushing out but the reason I’m pointing this part out is because Jase wasn’t wearing shorts, he was wearing jeans. Two sentences earlier was this line: “I let my hand brush against the front of his jeans…”.

There was a character, Johnny, mentioned in the 2nd installment in reference to Jimmy, the deputy. “Jimmy was a classmate of Johnny’s back in school.” I have no idea who this Johnny character is, as this is the first time he has been mentioned but the way it’s worded, it’s as if I’m suppose to make some sort of connection. And speaking of Jimmy, Exhibit I: he’s a childhood acquaintance of Jase. Kind of like Jax and Hale’s relationship in SOA.

Then there was some things that didn’t make sense to me. “He walked towards them confidently, not running or walking.” Say what? And this line: “If that’d boring then I must be an eighty year old grandmother, I’d hate to see exciting!”

Even with all the SOA similarities, the MC life portrayed in the SOM series didn’t feel authentic. There was a scene where Jase used rubber bullets on some intruders. Rubber bullets??

And lastly, this series could’ve really used an editor. In addition to what I’ve already mentioned, there were so many missing commas.

Overall Impression: Reading this series gave me SOA flashbacks, which was distracting for me since I would remember similar moments or characters from the SOA show. The main different between the SOA and SOM is the word “fuck”, where it’s completely absent in the TV series and over used in this series. (There were 354 uses of the word “fuck” and other forms of the word in the entire 278 pages of this serial.) SOA is big right now, I get that. I also get how readers are enthralled by MC romances. I, for one, am one of those readers. But this series felt like SOA fan fiction. Maybe it was, I’m not sure. Even though I am currently craving MC romances, I want originality. I don’t want the same premise and same characters hashed out over and over. I do not think I will be reading the second half of this series.

The story itself is good, but these new installments or episodes that are parts of ONE book ... Just pisses me off. To pay for a couple of chapters at a time ... Ugh. I would just rather wait until all the parts come out and read it a once.

Nikki a college student, who is the all American good girl, decides to take a chance and throw out her good girl status for a night.

When she seen her beat friend and dorm mate come home, hopping off the back of a bike with a bunch if bikers, she reveals in her friend story of the night she had, and becoming a "Party Girl", that's what the refer to the girls who are all about fun and sex with the bikers in the club.

wanting in on the fun, and to lose her self if for only one night, Nikki tells her friend she wants to go the next time.

in cut off shorts, that are barely legal, and a too short shirt, Nikki is ready for the time of her life with the Sons of Mayhem.

meeting Jade, a fine ass VP of Sons of Mayhem, Nikki is excited in more ways then one. Getting on a bike for the first time, being in a chase and a shoot out, and that's just the first hour of meeting Jade. Nikkei doesn't know.what she got herself into.

Hiding out, sitting low for a bit, that's when. Nicole and Jade get more acquainted with each other, but the story ends with us wanting more.

For a free short read it had all you would want in it, and hell, who doesn't love.a.sexy biker who know what to do with his hands? I know I do!!!!

Nicole is a straight laced and straight A college student. She hears this loud noise when she's waiting for her roommate, Lucy to come home. Lucy is a bit of a free spirit and wild as they come. Lucy has spent the evening with a group of bikers and tells Nicole all about it. Nicole has a boyfriend that might or might not be gay and dreams of having a man that would make her feel attractive and wanted. She suggests that maybe she'll go with Lucy the next time she hangs out with the bikers.

After the break up with her boyfriend, who I'm sure is gay, she agrees to go out with Lucy. Nicole is very excited but nervous, especially after Lucy has slutted up their outfits for the night. She is about to back out when she hears the roar of motorcycles. She then sees Jase, the VP, not that she knows what VP means in biker speak. He's a very hot man. She gets on the back of his bike and off they go.

This is a very short prelude to this series. I enjoyed it and will probably read on depending on the price of the other books. I'm on a bit of a biker bing lately and I'm devouring books in that genre. Maybe it's because Sons of Anarchy is over for the season but whatever the reason, I'm having a blast.

So glad she gave this away for free. Not that 99c is a lot of money, but it was really really short...like sample short. My rating has nothing to do with length, I knew how long it was when I started, my low stars are hopefully explained in the next few sentences. This definitely needs more development, which I'm sure will done in the next ones. At this point I feel like there was no real depth into any character introduced, but lots of 'action', I'm just feeling like it was way to rushed. Now if this wasn't published as is, if it was done with the entire story I may not feel this way....maybe. I see she's released all of the stories as one book and also edited it so it would flow better. I'm considering getting it. Just to see if she's fixed any issues I had or if they are read together it works better.

Quick four chapters set you up for what I can only expect to be an explosive next entry in this series.

After Nicole sees her wild roommate, Lucy, getting groped while hopping off the back of a burly biker's bike, she decides her life needs some adventure. Convincing her roommate she needs to take a walk on the wild side she winds up on the Sons of Mayhems's VP, Jase's bike, heading to their club house. However it can't be that simple. A chase with an unknown assailant ensues and soon Nicole finds her self alone with the sexy Jase at a warehouse awaiting back up.

It seems back up may be a step behind whoever was after them...

A very short read that's a part of a series. I think it would be better to judge the series as a whole instead of each individual story by itself or that the author should have published the series as one book instead of short novellas but it has potential to be a good story.

What a hot intro to this MC series! In this novella, Nicole decides to hang with her wild college roommate Lucy when she discovers that Lucy has been partying with the Sons of Mayhem MC. They even gave Lucy a nickname, "Juicy". On her first time cutting loose, she ends up with Jase. Her first time on a motorcycle she ends up in a deadly chase, which ends with a hot makeout session with Jase...but their problems are just beginning.

This was so great, and just a taste. I'm excited to read the full length novel!

Cliffhanger, great short story about a collage girl Nikki wanting to have some fun after another disappointing time with her boyfriend that she believes is gay after hearing from her friend and roommate about her wild night with the Sons MC, Nikki wants to try that but for her night out with the MC, she finds her self having a bunch of first time things, first time meeting bikers, on a Harley, car chase, shot out and having her first thigh quivering orgasm.

This was okay. Not very good..but not very bad either.I wish it was longer! I'm glad that this was free right now.I don't know if I'm gonna buy the rest of the "books."I'm not sure it is worth it.I think the Reapers series by Joanna Wylde and the Undeniable series by Madeleine Sheehan are much better!

Yes this is a short story but I knew it was and I do love Biker stories. Good start to series and the author offers future books for 99c is you subscribe to her email list and she then emails you to let you know for a short time they are available for discounted price. I liked the characters and look forward to reading more about Jase and Nicole, gives you an insight into the biker world.

A good start, but it was only 30 something pages and the next 2 parts are only 60 and 80 something pages. By the time the book is complete it will end up costing way too much money.

Plus, if you are going to rip off Sons of Anarchy, don't make it so similar.
Jase=Jax...shoulder length blonde hair
Brodie=Opie...long beard
Sons of Mayhem=Men of Mayhem

Nicole is a college student bored of her life so she asks her roommate to invite her the next time she goes to hang out with the Sons of Mayhem, a wild MC where she meets Jase, the VP of the club.

Short story, the beginning of a series, interesting but nothing too exciting. I'm gonna give the second book a shot though.

This is just really an intro to the actual first book in this series. From the author's notes this book was originally a four part serial with the same two characters, Jase and Nicole. Then the four parts were re-edited and formed into one complete novel, so technically this is more of a prequel than anything else, so totally expect a cliffhanger as this is not the complete book!

I liked the CHAPTER that was suppose to be book one. I don't like supporting booking that is sold per chapter. With that said, I guess I will have to borrow chapter 2.....I meant book 2 and the remaining chapters/books to find out what happens. I will probably have lost interest by then.

Really, i dont even know if i should consider it as a book or a chapter. It is SO short, that you know what, maybe i should call it an "Introduction" or a "Prologue". My Lord.
The irony of it is, that i liked the premise.

Im flabbergasted!

Please just write a whole book, then release it. Many books start out weak, but improve after the basic plot is set. Because part 1 was only a few introductory chapters I couldn't get an idea of the book's true quality.

If you love SOA you'll love this

I'm a huge SOA addict. this story (so far) reminds me a lot of SOA. this book is extremely short and leaves you needing the rest of the books right away!
