I would rate this book a 4.5. I really like this book and I liked how twisted it got and you learned a whole bunch when the main character was getting manipulated with this game. I wonder if there will be any other books like this one? I love this book and I love how the author writes. I have read almost all of her books ALMOST don't come for me, I have been in a reading slumpt and slowly getting out of it.

If you have any other recommendations like this author and her books hit me up.

I may or may not have stayed up when I was supposed to sleep because I couldn't put it down. I definetly envisioned people I know and overall the feeling of this book is gut-wrenching.

This was like saw but on crack, more twisted and more psychological

Holy fucking shit this book was BRILLIANT. I never have read psychological extreme horror but this just satisfied every thing for me, as a person who also loves bloody torture. I read the “a note from my dark mind” and girl, you did not fail AT ALL. I love the “you” and “your” because yes it did help me to envision myself in the scenario and it almost reminds me of final destination 3 that came out in 2006 and the dvd had where you could decide the fat of the players. It was totally unpredictable, enticing because I was so THERE and myself couldn’t fathom what would come next or what choice would be made. And I LOVE the experimental play here. The vague description of each character but the intricate detail of the “torture” and the PLOT. Because, I am the same way with I imagine the characters however my brain will, I have no control they just come to me and there was no resistance here because there was free flow and full reign of freedom to imagine what I wanted. It got me emotionally invested, imagining what would I do if this was my loved ones, is this someone she knows? This was so playful and FUN! More of this style, yes.

What would YOU choose if faced with options to be hurt or have others hurt. YOU are the subject of this book. It is YOU making the choices, your friend, YOUR ex-lover sitting on the other side of the plexiglass. While reading this you need to engross yourself as the subject. THAT is the horrifying part.
I would definitely read more. I would like to know about what happens to ME after I find myself looking into the mirror. I’d like to read more about the employee who couldn’t stop asking questions.
All the books I have read from Sea are wonderful. If I could give this a 4.5 stars I would. Pick up any of her books and if you like extreme horror you will fall in love with her detailed writing as much as I have.

This one got me thinking…did I have people in mind when the victims were brought in? For the Ex I absolutely did, acknowledging I didn’t think twice about inflicting some sort of pain of those that had wronged me.

Deep and thought provoking, is it murder if they didn’t die directly by our hand? Do we feel guilty either way? Definitely got the grey matter working.

One of my favourite Sea books by far, would have loved a longer version or one that had multiple pathways to choose from

Putting YOU into the story…

This book is a bit like Matt Shaw’s The Game series - the main difference here being that YOU are the main character, forced to make decisions who lives, and who dies whether you like it or not.
It’s a clever concept, and one I enjoyed, and can’t wait to see if this author has written more books in a similar vein.

I enjoyed the genderless/2nd person perspective of this book-I definitely filled in the characters with some people in my personal life. I just wish we would have known their final choice and a bit more of behind the scenes(observers)!

I personally loved this book. I enjoyed all the choices she had to make. It reminded me a lot of Saw the movies. I don’t know how you could do another book though. I mean, everything is over in my point of view.

Love the point of view of this book and how it’s left open to imagine yourself, your acquaintances, and friends in these situations. Definitely a little different from her other books but so far I’ve loved every book I’ve read by her and can’t wait to read more.

Well written, especially since it's in the second person. I've read a few books from 2nd POV and it's hard to do right.
If you're into well done splatterpunk that's a quick read, this is a good one.

The writing style Sea implemented in this book is vastly different that past books of hers. At first, I will admit I did not like it. I put this book down for a while and picked it back up. As I continued into the story, I realized how necessary this writing approach was for this story to really click with readers.

The scene that really beat that into my head, was the scene where the main character is forced to decide whether to have herself be hurt or for what we assume is her ex to receive the crappy end of the stick. The way this was scene and many others within the book were written, are done so in a very vague manner so you as a reader imagine people in your own life. The ex however implied to not be the best person, and for me reading this I instantly imagine my abusive ex sitting in that chair, and how it would be a no brainer. She would have deserved it. But would your ex deserve it?
The book also refers to the main character as You, which also works extremely well to make the reader feel as if they are the one's being forced to make decisions based on people in their personal lives.
