ไหงกลายเป็นนิยายไซไฟ โลกคู่ขนานไปได้ก็ไม่รู้!!
เป็นเล่มที่ดีที่สุดของมาโคโตะ ชินไค สำหรับเรา
พล็อตยังคงมีส่วนเชื่อมต่อให้นึกถึงอีกสองเล่มที่เคยอ่าน

Ke Destinasi Yang Kita Janji Dahulu, sebuah novel bergenre cinta/fiksyen sains, mengisahkan persahabatan antara Hiroki, Takuya dan Sayuri yang berpegang pada satu janji. Sebuah janji yang pada asalnya membakar semangat mereka untuk melawat sebuah menara yang megah berdiri membelah langit di Tanah Ezo. Namun, misteri kehilangan Sayuri secara tiba-tiba sekaligus memalapkan api semangat itu.
Novel ini bertemakan kehilangan dalam sebuah perhubungan yang bermula dengan pertemuan Hiroki dan Takuya yang berkongsi minat terhadap aeroangkasa. Perwatakan mereka berdua bertentangan tetapi disebabkan minat tersebut mereka saling melengkapi. Kehilangan Sayuri merancakkan lagi dinamik persahabatan mereka yang kian retak dan dari situ pembaca dapat mendalami perwatakan dua sahabat sejati ini dalam menangani kehilangan serta tidak berputus asa demi menunaikan janji. Selain itu, elemen percintaan dalam novel ini sememangnya digarap dengan baik. Penulis mengetengahkan konflik cinta remaja dan bagaimana watak-watak ini menanganinya dengan penuh kematangan. Kelemahan ketara pada novel ini boleh dikatakan tiada, cumanya ada penamat bagi sesetengah watak seharusnya dikendalikan dengan lebih baik lagi. Antara tema lain dalam novel ini ialah kesunyian hidup dan kepercayaan terhadap takdir.
Secara keseluruhannya, novel ini berjaya menggambarkan erti kehilangan melalui sudut pandang remaja dengan baik sekali. Konflik antara tiga sahabat ini menerokai fasa-fasa remaja yang ada naik turunnya apabila melalui peringkat pendewasaan. Sesungguhnya idea gabungan elemen cinta dan fiksyen sains/ fantasi daripada Makoto Shinkai mampu mengangkat penceritaan karyanya menjadi lebih menyerlah serta tidak mengecewakan.

i really wanna like this book but it’s just not for me… i forced myself to read it in one day or i knew i’d dnf it tbh. it just dragged on and there were a lot of unnecessary parts idk.. it’s not necessarily bad i just didn’t enjoy it much

This book had so much potential, and maybe it was perfect for some, but I think this shall be the end of my foray into Japanese male authordom.
This story follows Hiroki and his best friend, Takuya, from middle school through high school as they build a remote control airplane and then decide to build a real plane so that they can fly it to a tower visible just across the strait. The setting is an alternate-history Japan in which Russia has taken over half of the country and the nation is divided in half, akin to Korea's current state. Takuya and Hiroki have never known life without Russian occupation and that tower, but the tower still effects them in a way it doesn't other people. They are obsessed with it, drawn to it, repulsed by it. They become enthralled by the idea of completing their small plane and flying to it.
Shortly into the story, the boys are befriended by a girl named Sayuri who becomes equally enraptured with the plane they are building. She becomes the glue that holds them all together, entrances them with her way of speaking and her soft demeanor, receives a promise that she can be in the plane when they fly to the tower, and is never seen again.
This story had such a peaceful sense of nostalgia about it. Unfortunately, that turned into a plodding, uninteresting, seemingly irrelevant series of events that did little to keep my interest. While under 300 pages, this book still took over a month to get through because, quite simply, I had to force myself to pick it up. Especially when the elements of magical realism came into effect.
Ultimately, I found what I expected to be a whimsical story to be more of a dull, depressing descent into nothingness with a disappointing ending and a lack of any true sense of resolution or closure.

Romanzo che è al tempo stesso fedele adattamento e aggiunta dell'omonimo film di Makoto Shinkai ( meglio conosciuto per il suo film Your Name), Oltre le nuvole racconta la storia di una promessa e di un aereo.
All'inizio non mi stava piacendo perché avevo difficoltà a capire tutti i termini tecnici della costruzione dell'aereo, ma superate le prime pagine, ci si addentra in una storia di promesse, quella della costruzione di un aereo, il Velaciela, e quella che fanno i due ragazzi protagonisti alla loro amica Sayuri, di portarla in volo fino a una misteriosa Torre. Sullo sfondo di un ipotetico e fantascientifico Giappone diviso in due, una parte controllata dall'Unione (la Russia comunista) e l'altra dagli Stati Uniti, ci si ritrova anche a seguire la strana fascinazione per una misteriosa torre che sembra non solo collegata a Sayuri stessa ma anche allo studio dei mondi possibili, i mondi paralleli.
Consiglio di leggere il libro e subito dopo di vedere il film non solo per completezza ma anche per comprendere al meglio tutti gli aspetti della storia.
Concludo dicendo che è un libro che mi è piaciuto molto, anche il finale per quanto dolceamaro lo approvo molto, perché è importante ccome venga sottolineata l'importanza dell'indipendenza personale, per quanto si ami una persona, dipendere troppo da essa è sbagliato e quindi si, approvo il finale, anche se capisco non possa piacere a tutti.

Về cuốn này nếu nói ngắn gọn thì mình sẽ nói là:
"Đừng tưởng bìa đẹp mà nội dung hay!"
Mình ấn tượng nhất là về sắc xanh tuyệt đẹp của bìa. Chấm hết.
Truyện đã dài dòng ngay từ những phút đầu tiên, mình vừa đọc vừa ngáp. Có những trang nói về máy bay của 2 nhân vật chính thì mình chỉ muốn skip luôn cho qua. Tuyến nhân vật xây dựng cũng làm mình thấy khó chịu. Chả hiểu 2 thằng con trai chỉ vì 1 đứa con gái mà bỏ dở đi ước mơ mấy năm trời? Ủa, có đáng ko vậy? Rồi đang chơi thân tự nhiên vì chuyện nhỏ thế mà xa cách luôn, đọc mà muốn cáu.
Đã thế, truyện còn thêm thắt cả mấy thông tin não của Sayuri kết nối với tháp, nhảm vl nhảm. Nếu đã có chuyện đó thì có người phải đưa tin, hay thậm chí là đem cô bé đi giải phẫu luôn rồi. Mà gia đình cô bé cũng chẳng thấy tăm hơi đâu...
Tình cảm của Hiroki dành cho Sayuri chưa đủ độ. Mới chỉ là hai đứa trẻ lớp 7, quen nhau có mấy ngày, thì không thể bị ảnh hưởng đến mức độ mà bị ám ảnh ngay cả khi đã lên cấp 3 được, vô lí hết sức.
Đọc 1 lần rồi say bye luôn.

People disliking the ending are being unreasonable in my opinion. To me, the ending makes perfect sense, and is realistic (which is what I think people really dislike at the end of the day). Sayuri just barely escaped death, and on top of that, she did nothing but suffer through sleep for her teen years.
Just because Hiroki rescued her mind from the tower, it doesn't mean that they get a "And they lived happily ever after" sort of ending. All of the characters in this book suffered, and people forget that trauma inflicts a lot of unwanted change. For Sayuri, who recovered succesfully thanks to Hiroki's help, she needed a new start. She needed to finally get out there and do something amazing of her own. If she didn't do that, she wouldn't be "whole", as she said. You have to remember that Hiroki, at freaking middle school, was building a whole ass plane. Then at eighteen, he bombed a freaking tower with a nuclear bomb and rescued her. What did Sayuri do?
Some might question, so why couldn't she work on herself while she was with Hiroki? And that's just it, it's just as I said, trauma inflicts unwanted change and complicated emotions. The time she spent with him was probably bittersweet and filled with thoughts about the future, for this reason, she couldn't be there. She needed to be somewhere completely anew, a place that had no traces of her old life, because those traces would invoke all kinds of thoughts and emotions and worst of all regrets.
It's a similar endeavor to Toradora! People hated how Taiga vanished out of nowhere and left Ryuiji as soon as they finally had a relationship going. But like Sayuri, Taiga needed to go and fix her complicated family situation on her own before she returned to Ryuji. Situations shouldn't be left unresolved, and emotion shouldn't be either. Sayuri loved Hiroki but she couldn't ignore what she was feeling.
Maybe in the future they get back together, or maybe not. One thing this book didn't do was give enough development to the characters, even at thirty-one, Hiroki didn't seem very satisfied with his life. But I'd also argue that despite the book's Sci-Fi core themes, the story did try to apply realistic attributes to its characters and their development. People in reality don't always get positive developments over their character, that takes a while, if it ever even happens. On top of that, undergoing positive change doesn't mean you get to live a better life. The world isn't black and white like that, and I think this is what this book is trying to say deep down.
That's why I personally liked the ending even if it was depressing. It's not what people wanted, it's not what I wanted, but it is what we got. Hey, that reminds me of life a little. You also have to remember that the movie didn't even give us that much, just that vague beginning with Hiroki reminiscing. I'm glad I didn't watch the movie, I'd feel so frustrated wondering what happened between Sayuri and Hiroki. So this ending is definately a form of closure, at least in that chapter of their lives.
There are no happy endings, only incomplete ones. I have no idea where I heard that but this book in conjunction with the incomplete movie perfectly illustrates that.

Mình mua quyển sách này vì đơn giản là bìa nó đẹp, vậy mà tận 4 năm sau khi mua mình mới có thời gian và hứng thú để đọc nó.
Chẳng phải vì mình không có thời gian. Nhớ lại, chính những trang đầu của câu chuyện đã dập tắt hứng thú của mình. Câu chuyện thơ ấu sẽ được k��� từ góc nhìn của nhân vật chính khi 31 tuổi, với một cuộc sống mà chính cậu ấy cũng thấy không thỏa mãn. Từ góc kể chuyện đó đã khiến mình bỏ dở quyển truyện này mấy năm... Cho đến bây giờ khi thật sự rảnh và chả có chuyện gì để làm mới cố đọc hết.

Bỏ qua những dòng chen ngang của cậu trai 31 tuổi, câu chuyện có khỏi đầu, phần giữa, và cao trào thật sự khá lôi cuốn người đọc. Nhất là nhân vật Sayuri, lúc đầu đọc mình luôn nghĩ cô là một người bí ẩn, và sau khi đọc hết cả quyển mình vẫn chẳng hiểu gì về cô hết. Và cả cậu bạn bỏ đi biệt tăm không hề gặp lại lần cuối nữa. Cậu cuối cùng cũng không chọn trốn tránh bằng cách làm mọi thứ biến mất, mà thay vào đó là làm chính mình biến mất. Và cuối cùng là nhân vật chính của câu chuyện. Nhìn tư đoạn văn 31 tuổi trên cùng chắc bạn cũng hiểu rồi.
Cuối cùng, mình không nghĩ đây là một câu chuyện đáng đọc. Có lẽ vấn đề không năm ở hồi kết, mà là ở cả cấu trúc của quyển sách này rồi. Mình đọc được có người review so sánh nó với cảnh cuối trong Toradora!, nhưng thật sự nó chả giống nhau gì cả. Dù không thể so sánh một bộ 10 tập sách với một quyển, nhưng ở Toradora, với rất nhiều cao trào, nhân vật Taiga đã được khai thác thật sự triệt để rồi. Đoạn kết đã chứng minh cho sự trưởng thành ở cô. Và cả niềm hi vọng được trao ở đoạn kết của anime nữa...
TLDR: Mua về chưng bìa thì đẹp.
Chẳng phải vì mình không có thời gian. Nhớ lại, chính những trang đầu của câu chuyện đã dập tắt hứng thú của mình. Câu chuyện thơ ấu sẽ được k��� từ góc nhìn của nhân vật chính khi 31 tuổi, với một cuộc sống mà chính cậu ấy cũng thấy không thỏa mãn. Từ góc kể chuyện đó đã khiến mình bỏ dở quyển truyện này mấy năm... Cho đến bây giờ khi thật sự rảnh và chả có chuyện gì để làm mới cố đọc hết.

I’m lost at words to describe this book. It had a slow start at first but things got excited when Sayuri started to appear.
There were a lot of twists that I was not expecting and the way their friendship just ended? Was bizarre to me, like how could they just simply do that?
Getting to the next point, I’m not sure if I was hyping Hiroki to be with Rika or I was shipping him to reunite and be with Sayuri, it was a hard call but I totally loved their relationship.
Regarding the ending, I have so many questions regarding about Takuya and his disappearance, I really thought for a second that they might have rekindled their friendship and they will all be together again, but that’s not what it happened. And when they turned 21, for Sayuri to leave Hiroki so she finds herself again, I mean I’m glad for that but it wasn’t the type of ending that I was expecting. They really fulfilled their promise but each ended up alone and that’s really sad.
Ps. I just finished watching the movie and it’s ridiculous how the emotions that were found in the book such as their inner thoughts weren’t displayed but shared by the emotion, so many things weren’t mentioned in the movie but the book fulfilled that rule so good.

Một quyển truyện dành cho tuổi trẻ, kết hợp nhiều thể loại: học đường, lãng mạn, hiện thực kỳ ảo, hành động cứu thế giới,… nhưng trên hết vẫn là sự lãng mạn lý tưởng của tình bạn, tình yêu.
Diễn biến khá chậm, đi từ tình bạn giữa hai cậu trai cùng lớp đến khi tách lớp và gặp 1 bạn gái rồi cùng có tình cảm. Một ngày nọ, bạn gái biến mất và được mọi người cho biết là chuyển nhà, nhưng chỉ nhân vật “tôi” không tin, vẫn nhớ đến và tìm kiếm, thậm chí nhiều lần thấy cô bạn trong những giấc mơ. Toà tháp cao bên sông là nơi ba người bạn muốn cùng nhau đến đó, nhưng nơi đó cũng thuộc về lãnh thổ của một cái gọi là Liên bang vốn đối đầu với người Nhật. Những sự thật được hé lộ về toà tháp, cô bạn gái lại xuất hiện,… và rồi mọi thứ cứ tiếp tục.
Văn phong lãng mạn nhẹ nhàng kiểu học đường, những tình tiết và mối quan hệ phù hợp với độc giả trẻ. Phần cao trào, dù được chuẩn bị trước đó khá chậm và kỹ, nhưng lại diễn ra quá nhanh, và phần kết thúc hơi nhẹ so với không khí chung.

The Place Promised in Our Early Days is my favorite film from Makoto Shinkai. So I had to read the novel version. The movie is a hidden gem. It is a story about two middle school boys building a plane during an era over a North-South division in Japan. A tall and mysterious tower divides Ezo (modern day Hokkaido) with the rest of Japan. They meet Sayuri Sawatari, a classmate who can play the violin, and they make a promise together to fly their airplane, the Velaciela, to the tower someday. The ending was both happy and sad. I love the movie's story T^T
There are many references to Kenji Miyazawa's poems on the book. It was classic works that show up in anime and manga that got me into literature did you know? It was great to experience that excitement and wonder again when reading. This is my favorite line from Miyazawa's poems (not in this novel)
"In your harsh, harsh fever, panting, you asked me for a last bowl of snow that fell from the sky."

Cái kết khá buồn cho main. Mình nể nhất làm tinh thần làm việc bất khuất của takuya và hiroki dù gặp phải muôn vàn khó khăn. Khi đã bắt tay vào đam mê thì thời gian tiền bạc công sức cũng không quan trọng. Nhưng lại bị một cô gái xuất hiện giữa chừng rồi biến mất đã làm đổ vỡ mọi thứ kể cả tình bạn vô cùng thân thiết giữa 2 anh chàng. Yếu tố mờ ảo đã làm mạch truyện trở nên kịch tính vô thường hơn bao giờ hết. Cuộc chiến tranh trong truyện tuy là hư cấu nhưng cũng thể hiện rõ sự phê phán, chán ghét chiến tranh vì nó đã gây sự tan tóc đau thương chia lìa xa cách bao gia đình để người ở bắc kẻ ở nam không biết bao giờ mới gặp lại nhau giống như bác Okabe phải xa người vợ hàng chục năm trời. Cuối cùng hai anh chàng đều rất dũng cảm sẵn sàng hy sinh tính mạng vì mục đích của mình. Mình vẫn tiếc vì Hiroki cuối cùng chẳng có được Rika lẫn Sayuki =((

Hai cậu bé cấp 2 nhưng tài giỏi tới nỗi chế tạo được máy bay chở được hai người. Thêm một cô gái mà có mối liên kết tới một ngọn tháp đã chia cắt Nhật Bản. Cuối cùng hai chàng trai đã thành công trong việc cứu sống cô gái khỏi ngọn tháp, dù tiền cược chính là cả thế giới. Cô gái sau khi được cứu trở về, dù rất yêu chàng trai nhưng cô lại lựa chọn rời xa chàng trai để tự lập. Vũ trụ trong văn học Nhật Bản đôi khi khá là khỏ hiểu.

I’m a realism so I enjoy the ending. The book is too long for an entertaining novel but just right for a book that would change somebody life. And it hit me real hard.
After reading the first time, there’s a question i got left. “Why do the characters have to leave when things getting good?”. I can feel that’s the right thing to do somehow, but but why? I don’t understand.
And Takuya did had a promise with Maki, maybe because Hiroki don’t know that?

This book was so heartwarming and sad at the same time. It was about a young boy who'd fallen in love with a girl in middle school. Suddenly she disappeared and wasn't found. To forget about her and his past in the small village he grew up in, he moved to Tokyo. Later he finds out his middle crush was unconscious and it was related to the reason he left his town.

This book felt like it went on for longer than needed but I did enjoy it. The scenery that the author depicts and the activities that the main characters are involved in encouraged me to walk outside and read versus just reading in the comfort of my own room. I really appreciated that. I do recommend it but it can be quite confusing at times.

Tuy là một câu chuyện hư cấu. Nhưng ta vẫn cảm nhận được những niềm vui, những nổi buồn trong từng nhân vật khi thiếu vắng một bóng người mà mình quý nhất trong một đời người. Chuyến bay nào cũng có những lúc gặp sự cố hoặc trục trặc nhưng sau cùng nó vẫn sẽ tiếp đất một cách an toàn.

Nửa đầu dth như những bộ khác cùng tg, nửa sau thêm khoa học viễn tưởng thế giới đa vũ trụ hơi khiên cưỡng nhưng cũng tạm. Mình k thích cái kết lắm, kiểu ép theo khuôn của những bộ trước, nam nữ ai cũng phải cô đơn. Tả cảnh đẹp phải biết.

比起《秒速五厘米》，其实我更喜欢《云之彼端》，高中的时候看过动漫，当时就觉得浩纪的心境和我很像，那是一种足以淹没自我的绝望的孤独感。小说比动漫内容更加丰富，也讲清楚了佐由理和浩纪分开的原因，多年过去，仍然很喜欢这个故事。
