About the author

Sharada Sharma was born in the hilly district of Syangja in Nepal and she graduated from Tribhuvan University in Biology and Nepali literature. Sharada was associated with Nepal Family Planning Association and served as advisory at the International Family Planning Organization, South Asia regional office.

It could have been much much better. Starting was brilliant, however it fails to lure you till the end. Sub plots are unnecessarily bloated. It could have been nicer with lesser character but more detailed and organised plot. Sometimes it feels like a collection of short stories. Nice attempt though.

It is a nice book written in simple words.

The plot starts with a girl’s journey of being a highly ranked monk. In presenting so, the writer has also given an insight into Buddhism as well.

As the story progresses, new characters were introduced. A separate chapter gives a gist about each character and how they are connected.

Going on, the story tells about how each individual are burning within. For instance “Mukti” – an individual in the novel is hunted by his guilt. Similarly, others are also burning inside because of their lies etc.

Now, to overcome their burden and in seeking some purpose to live for, they all end up in hermitages of some sort. They try to concentrate on meditation. From there the story moves in an interesting direction.

An interesting read. Tainted with some prejudices of the writer. Somewhere seems a little prudish. Still very refreshing. Offers fresh perspectives on the "path to spiritualism". Could have been better but I would still recommend this book to everyone.

ताप अलि फरक खालको उपन्यास हो । फरक यस अर्थमा की यसमा बौद्ध गुम्बा तथा आश्रमहरुसँग सम्बन्धित कथावस्तु छ । बिभिन्न प्रकारका तापहरुबाट बच्न मानिसहरुले गर्ने सफल तथा असफल प्रयासहरु दर्शाइएका छन्‌ यसमा । गुम्बा तथा आश्रममा महिलामाथि हुनेगरेका भेदभावहरुको चित्रण छ । साथै बौद्ध धर्म सम्बन्धी धेरै जानकारी पाइन्छ, ताप पढ्दा । त्यसैले यो अनुसन्धानमुलक उपन्यास पनि हो ।

तर केही अश्लिल शब्दहरु प्रयोग गरिएका छन्‌ । अनि जहाँबाट सुरु भयो त्यहाँ नपुग्दै सिद्दिन्छ यो उपन्यास।

कथा सलल बग्छ । सरल भाषाशैली छ । पढुञ्जेल अल्छी लाग्दैन । एकपटक पढ्नुहोला ।
