Solid 3.5 stars.
Have you ever seen a movie and thought "This is too much. They really needed to make this a series" That was this book. The concept for great but there was way too much going on. Draco and Hermione were written really well in it but the author jumped from POV to POV over SEVERAL characters, all with their own side stories, that the crux, Dramione was only lightly touched on.
The writing, could have also been better and since it was written over ten years ago, I'd love to see Redhead come back and do a rewrite on this one because it has/had so much potential. For example, I would have loved more on Claire's life but that needed to be it's own story. I would have loved to see where Katie's magic took her too. Again, needs it's own story. This one here would have kept my attention more had it been just Draco/Hermione not a 100 cast character of jumping from one scene to the next.
There were also some immature writing in the fic. The use of "going mental" "being mental" was juvenile and dated the fic. So I'm going to assume the author was quite young when she wrote this one.
I can't believe this took me 6 days to read. And I kept at it. I didn't stray or read something else. Less is more sometimes.
