Brit Nelson spent the last four years of college in Seattle, a city that nurtured her artistic abilities and freethinking spirit. She had recently discovered a love for music and was enjoying some local success with her band. As her college career was coming to a close, an opportunity to teach art in Los Angeles presented itself. This forced Brit to make a choice between staying comfortable or starting over.
Josh Rand was an ex-collegiate swimmer who had turned to MMA as a way to heal the scars left from a nasty divorce. His engineering career was really beginning to take off, and like Brit, he was contemplating a move to Los Angeles to pursue a new job opportunity.
The two had become acquainted through their mutual friends, but they rubbed each other the wrong way from the very start. Josh's logical, responsible attitude was the polar opposite of Brit’s hippie lifestyle, and he would have never pictured himself with someone like her. But everything changed the moment he heard her sing.
I've always explored various artistic mediums but nothing has ever captivated me like the world of literature. I am truly grateful to all the authors who have inspired me, and only hope I can contribute to the wonderful craft of storytelling.
I like games and kids and red Starburst. I like tattoos and koi fish and tattoos of koi fish. I like fresh air and gardening and sushi. I'm sure you'll read about my other interests because I draw inspiration from things I enjoy.
I love to hear from my fans. Feel free to contact me anytime.
This story was a lot like the others in this series. The female lead was pretty clueless, the male lead was arrogant and possessive, the female lead had very little experience with men, and the male lead had a very large… how was it described? Oh, yes… piece of equipment. 6 out of 10
The characters in this one came from the same mould as the others in the series. It's most likely not going to change, so I can already tell I'm not going to like the main characters in the next one.

Mind the Gap is book 4 in the In Too Deep series, and having just finished the 3rd book in the series I was interested to read this one, and get to know more about Britt Nelson and Josh Rand. Britt is an old friend of Gretchen, and Josh, who use to swim with Collin. Two very different people, but you know what they say ‘opposites attract’
I enjoyed the storyline having read the previous books in the series, I had a feeling that Mind The Gap was going to be an entertaining fun easy fast paced read, and it was. Brit was a free sprite, and had a hippy lifestyle, and Josh took life a bit too seriously, but because of his past I could sort of understand it. He was also into MMA so I was a fan.
Both had choices to make as opportunities had arisen that would take them both out of their comfort zones, but in many ways for the better. Loved the loved/ hate relationship that Britt, and Josh had, they had good chemistry together, and the attraction was there, but from the very beginning they rubbed each other up the wrong way. It was funny to read, and I enjoyed their banter.
Overall I liked Mind The Gap, another enjoyable read from the series. I enjoyed catching up with the other characters from the previous books. I was keen to know about the title, as being a London girl who travels on the tube its a saying that I know very well. So it did make me smile when it was connected to the same thing. I’m looking forward to reading the next book in the series, “Three Months and your Mine” which is also the last book in the series.
A few quotes:
“I’d been in quite a few kissing situation in my day, none were utterly hot as this one”
“I was falling hard fast in spite of out differences –or maybe because of them”
“I wanted her, and it seems like she wanted me too. What was there to do but go with it?”
“I was falling hard, and the unexpected emotion threw me for a loop”
I received a copy from the author for my honest review.
The third book in the series, Second String, gave hints that the next book would be Josh's story and this was just that. Josh and Brit didn't get along right from the start. He thought she was an elitist hippy while she thought he was annoying know it all.
Brit is art student who kinda does her own thing, dresses how she want and does what she wants without caring what people think. She is a long time friend of Rachels and quickly becoming close with Rachels group of friends.
Josh is always serious and is pretty smart which tends to come across as rude if you don't know him. Josh is part of Collins group of friends/ex-swim team member and is planning to move to LA with the rest of his friends.
Brit and Josh gives the opposites attract saying a whole new meaning. The chemistry between the characters is very passionate and entertaining. And I really liked how they developed a love hate relationship. I also liked how they both dove into new lives and took big chances for their future.
As usual in this series we get to see more of the previous books which I love I just thought this one had a little too much of the rest of the characters in the series. It took me away from the love story at hand. While I did love the Brit and Josh I just wanted a little bit more to fully be immersed into their story.
Overall this is a good series; its fast paced with loads of passion that take you into another world which lets face thats why we read these books!
This is a part of a series. It is not a MMA series. This is not an MMA story at all. The hero in this story trains MMA part time. It plays little part in the story. This is a story of opposites attract and learning to speak each other’s language. The heroine also is learning to trust her own voice and be the person insider her. Being able to be in both the hero and heroine’s heads gives the reader just the right amount of insight. It has a strong underlying current o f the book, Men are from Mars, Women Are From Venus. I came away from this book feeling like I’d read something very positive. Yes, it had the descriptive, but not too descriptive sex scenes, the issues between the hero and heroine, and the happily ever after. But this story is different from most of the books I read. This story left me feeling very uplifted. This is the first time I’ve read this author, but it won’t be the last.
This book was alright I fell in love with Josh's jealousy and protectiveness, "I said she's mine, and so is the painting, so you need to effing back off." He worries about his girl, and he gets concerned I liked that side of him it showed how vulnerable he was, "Brit, what the hell? We've been calling. I almost kicked your door down. Go open it and let me-" This book was an okay read I felt like something was missing or just that the characters were missing something I can't put my finger on it.
Mind the Gap is book four in the In Too Deep series by Casey McMillin. Again, another solid book in this series that had me hooked from beginning to end. I am loving the chemistry between all the characters and how Casey is continuing not only the main characters stories but all the past characters as well. I'm quickly becoming a huge Casey fan and can't wait to read the next book in this series!!
