A woman is kidnapped in broad daylight, and Mac Lillard is a witness. But no one believes him. Not even himself.

Private investigator Mac Lillard wanders into Chattanooga, Tennessee after fleeing North Carolina. He’s not looking for work. He’s looking for an escape. Bloodied, road-weary, and at the end of his rope, he hopes this new town can offer some sanctuary. Instead, he winds up in the hospital, where he meets a friendly and beautiful nurse named Tiffany Hampton.

Tiffany volunteers to take an experimental vaccine in front of a crowd of news cameras, hoping her employer will appreciate her initiative. When Lillard leaves the hospital he witnesses something he shouldn’t have, and is drawn into a deadly game. A game where nothing is as it seems.

Which is clear to him after he returns to the hospital and finds Tiffany Hampton there, safe and sound. Like nothing ever happened.

But there is something… different about her.

“Anyone can be made into a reflection of someone else with enough silicone and glue.”

Join Mac Lillard in his new mind-bending quest to uncover what really happened to Tiffany. Is this a massive cover-up operation? Or is he only chasing shadows?

5/5 - Kevin Alan is an incredible author. Each of his books is expertly written; and, always has a cast of deeply layered characters.

Shadow Puppets keeps the expectation of a pulse pounding and mystery that had me completely turned around up til the last page.

And that ending! I need book three with alacrity.

Each of the Matthew Lillard books are different cases he works on, there’s no overlapping as of yet. Each book has completely stellar 5* stories that are engaging, intriguing, and will keep you flipping the pages til the end of the book.
