Coping and being able to begin healing after losing two of the most beloved women from both extreme ends of generations have been difficult.My mother, at 86, and my granddaughter, at 16, died within 6 days of each other, leaving my family all utterly devastated. It was a huge emotional blow for us. This unfortunate event has triggered the creation of this narration that i hope will comfort others and honor the memory of my granddaughter Niesha. I believe that by channeling my grief constructively, i am penning down my journey of what is taking me to hold it all together. Sharing my story of how i am rising above the pain is my attempt to wipe my daughter's tears and inspire others who have lost their loved ones. And, in this process, I am being healed.

I have learned that sharing my story and donating my "Niesh Hair Scarf" wigs to cancer patients has become my granddaughter, Neisha's Legacy.
