Beautiful knitting designs in this book, but I think "easy" is an exaggeration. Debbie Bliss designs often includes fussy little details that elevate a pattern beyond a basic look, but contributes to a more complicated project: turned hems/collars/sleeves, Fair Isle pattern details, matched and very visible shaping in the "Shirt-style cardigan." I never thought her patterns are written to be easy on the knitter, too, so intrepid beginner beware. (Why knit a cap flat, please?) Many of the kids' patterns suffer from a baggy look but the four adult patterns look classic and fit elegantly.

BOTTOM LINE: Decent enough basic knitting pattern book, but nothing special. And the subtitle lies.

While the cover states that there will be designs for adults inside, I found there to be mainly children's things here, and a couple of blankets. There are only five sweaters (out of the 25 total) for larger folks, and I use that word comparatively - three of the designs size only up to 36" and two of them only to 40", making them entirely unworkable for me and likely many, if not most, of the adults who might read this book. The kids designs are rather basic but nicely done, and the adult sweaters aren't that bad, rather classic looking but, again, somewhat basic and "blah" in style. So if you have kids and are looking for some easy, basic patterns for them, this might be worth a look; nothing in here is useful, or enjoyable-looking to me, though.
