Seeking Normal

Rate this book
SEEKING NORMAL is a must read; a chronological narrative in which the author describes dramatic events over significant years with such bracing detail that you feel like you are walking the halls of the psychiatric ward with her on the night she's admitted. As a child, she keeps secrets like her father's alcoholism, his mental illness, and her own homosexual trappings . . . As an adult, her suspicions grow concerning her husband's subtle unnatural behavior around young female children but too naive and scared to know where or whom to turn, she doesn't reveal it . . .

As a five-week-old-baby in the San Joaquin Valley of California, Jane St.John with her parents, traveled by auto from mid-California, northward to the outskirts of San Francisco, across the bay near Berkeley and Albany, to Richmond where she grew up. She graduated from San Jose State University with a BA degree in History and English. As a Graduate, she studied for and received a Secondary Teaching Credential from San Jose State University. She taught English and was Head of the English Department at a high school in a small town in the mid-west. Later on she taught in private schools. However, since Teaching positions were becoming scarce, she decided to accept a technical writer position in industry; discovered she liked writing over teaching. She worked as a Technical Writer for various companies over the years; at a storage data firm for five years. During that time she grew ill; resigned and returned to California. While hospitalized in northern California, she was diagnosed as mentally ill. Years later and from her experiences came her first novel released a year ago on September 10, 2013, entitled "Seeking Normal." Authored by Jane St.John (pen name).
