I enjoyed this - the author weaves a story that lends itself to exploring leadership principles in a way that is engaging and emotional. Whether or not it's real or an allegory, the result is the same: inspiring the reader to explore what they love to do and to share their gifts with the world. Love provides the energy! A great reminder for everyone who feels stagnant in their job or needs encouragement for a new vision.

I usually don't like leadership books that come in the form of a story. Usually, I find the storylines to be forced, trite, only somewhat engaging, and overall I feel that the lessons are force fed. Usually, the stories are super short. In that light, I can say that "The Radical Leap" by Steve Farber does not disappoint (mostly). His story, though, reads like an autobiographical account. I can also say that his descriptions of San Diego were spot on and left me feeling nostalgic for the land of my birth.
Steve Farber, though, threw me for a loop. What was a struggle to get on board with during the first 20 pages, became a sort of passion the further I got into the book. The story is simple. You follow Steven through his journey of helping a friend out, learning about leadership, and struggling to understand himself.
Overall, I can't say that I learned anything profound, but I was able to take what I got out of the story and apply it the very next day. The story left me feeling introspective. I actually want to use the information that I learned in the story. It's very rare that there are takaways like that. Overall, I gave this book a four because I felt compelled enough to read through it in four sittings. I usually take about a week to finish a book and for once, I actually wanted to sit down and read this quickly. I got through it in 3 days.
If you want a quick read that will leave you questioning your purpose and wanting to take your position/leadership to the next level, this book is your prescription.

As a professional and MBA instructor, I've been exposed to a lot - and I do mean A LOT - of books and articles on leadership. I've yet to read one able to distill leadership to its core and convey the concepts effectively... until I read Farber's material. This book is a re-released combination of his first two books - Radical Leap and Radical Edge. He's taken the opportunity to clean-up and clarify thoughts from those two books into something amazing.

I will warn you: this is not a "one and done" book. You will think about it many times after you set it down. And you will probably re-read it multiple times. Each time I read Farber's material, I find something new. Farber will stick in your brain, and Love-Energy-Audacity-Proof will start haunting your thoughts and actions as a leader.

Was a bit leery at first - not unlike other "characters" I get skittish when messages get too preachy or touchy-feely. I can honestly say that this book gave me much to think about and helped to remind me of the connection between energy to do great things ( or to get out of bed) and a sense of purpose from knowing one's self, using one's strengths and talents, and doing what we love to do in the service of others. As a teacher, I already knew my job was important - now I have a better roadmap for building more positive relationships with students, their families and my colleagues.

If you haven't read this book and you think that leadership is in your future (or your present), you MUST read it and begin to apply its principles immediately. I would bet that you apply some already, but that you're not doing it full force or at your maximum capacity.

This book will change how you view relationships, not just those of employee-employer, but also your personal relationships. It will also encourage you to take more calculated risks in a way that doesn't just benefit you.

Cannot more highly recommend this book!

I wasn't quite sure what to expect but it came highly recommended so I dove in with both feet. I finished the book in 4 days, which is saying something for me as I'm usually not motivated to read much when I'm not travelling.

Farber poses a lot of questions and offers a new way of approaching your life's work. I'm excited to get started.

This is one of those books that just captured my attention, and like a hook in a fish, wouldn't let go (at least without a fight! :))

Fantastic leadership/business parable. There are so many life lessons to be discovered within the 300-odd pages, you will be overwhelmed, in the most + sense, from them all.

Definite must-read.

The most amazing thing about this book is how easy it is to relate to it. When you read the book you feel like it's written just for you. The concepts of LEAP (cultivate Love, generate Energy, inspire Audacity and provide Proof) are applicable to every day life not just business leadership. The storytelling is magnificent but not as much as the lessons. I think this book cannot be missed.

I really like the principles in this book. I can apply it to all areas of my life. nursing, leadership, faith & personal. I have read few books on leadership but this has motivated me like none of the others. Cant wait to see my team and see who is on board to set up WUP Book and discuss what we are learning. Definitely a book to read now and repeat.

Fastest book over 300 pages I've ever read! Couldn't put it down. Farber places himself wt the center of his own leadership fable and creates a humorous tale that will have you chuckling and scratching your head wondering the true identity of the eccentric characters therein.

Entertaining (if sometimes emotionally manipulative) business fabel. Pretty inspiring at times - Farber has a great message around loving what you do in the service of others.
