Join Gwen Marston as she leads you through her intuitive process for designing minimal quilts with maximum impact. Learn elements of design, art, color, and history via page after page of unique quilts. Although this book includes basic instructions, no patterns are needed for this minimalist quiltmaking approach.
Full disclosure- I'm biased because I have two quilts in the book and I admire Gwen tremendously. If you love quiltmaking, this book (and all Gwen Marston books) should be on your shelf! Highly recommended!
Gwen is a national treasure. We are so lucky that she shares her processes and thoughts with us. I hadn't read this book yet because I didn't think I would like minimal quiltmaking. Ha! It's fascinating.....
Not a typical quilt book. I usually don't include craft and quilt books on my Goodreads list, but I actually did read this one, cover to cover. It's not really a "how-to" or pattern book, but a discussion about how Gwen approached making minimal quits. I have been an admirer of Gwen's since I started quilting and this was an inspiring glimpse into how her creative mind works. This makes me want to actually read her other quilt books as opposed to just looking through the gorgeous photos.
Gwen Marston's has come up with another quilt making book that will make quilters rush out to the fabric store to choose color field fabrics to begin sewing her latest minimalist quilts. She continues to be an inspiration in the quilt field and her books make what can be difficult look easy.
