This might be Susie's all time favorite. It's a quick read, perfect for her age, or actually just younger. Great for short attention spans because it's just a poem divided up into stanzas on each page.
However, we have a much older edition with watercolor illustrations that are BEAUTIFUL. Our copy was a hand me down gift from dear friends who got it from a school used book sale, St. Mary's in Boise for anybody interested.

I'm not going to set a date on this one because we've read it multiple times a day since Christmas.

A little boy and his dog play follow the leader, and a variety of animals join the game. While going through the forest, a tiger with not-so-good intentions follows along as well. The little boy and his dog have a plan to get rid of the tiger, saving all the animals while keeping the tiger happy at the same time!

I thought this would be a good get-up-and-move book, although it's not terribly easy to follow (or we didn't try, I guess). There are different animals, although a little confusing how a tiger makes it into the mix. The joke at the end was over my son's head.

There is more adventure to this book than one might think from reading the synopsis. It isn't just about a kid and some animals playing follow the leader. What happens when a ferocious tiger wants to join the game? Read, find out, and enjoy.
