Rain Medici and Dominick Kane continue with their whirlwind love affair. The story has a way of sucking you in and the colloquial and simple way in which the author writes makes it very interesting.
Several secrets were revealed in the first book, but that only gave way to new ones. Rain is now unsure how Dominick will react, but she knows she has to be honest with him.
Dominick continues with his possessive and irrational nature, but that is the only way he knows how to show love. Rain also has moments where she acts irrationally and that is upsetting. Rain is a fixer, always looking to make everything right. This sometimes gets her in trouble.
The love between Dominick and Rain is strong and all consuming, but at times, it also seems destructive. He loves hard and doesn’t always think before acting. This definitely causes issues between them.
So much is going on in the story, so many twists and turns, so many unresolved issues…what a rollercoaster.
I was happy to see the secret of Dominick’s parents was just what I thought it would be. Now, I have mixed feelings about the person out to hurt Rain. I think I know who it is and would like to be right, but at the same time, if I am, that would be devastating.
I’ve enjoyed reading both books in the series and am waiting to see how much gets resolved in the third book.
