Ok, This must be the first time that I truly did not want the heroine to fall in love with the suppose hero. I did not like Keith, and let me tell you why. Keith was a widower, and when his wife died, instead of taking care of his daughter, she was in a boarding home why he went on drinking, partying, and whoring, yet he claims he loves her so.. Now his wonderful Aunt has layed down the law, and because she loves him, decides to blackmail him, now I can tell you how, but I wont you need to read it. Now we have Bertie, and she is awesome and truly wonderful, sweet woman, and unfortunately meets Keith, and they both think they are other people when they first come in contact, and of course there is that instant attraction, but they do fight it. Bertie, should have kept fighting it. Keith is judgmental, and he truly does not deserve her, he thinks she is a bad influence on his daughter, and does not really want her near her, he constantly insults her, apologizes, insults, apologizes, insults, apologizes, you get the drift. She does not dress provocatively, but with the type of body that she has, it just looks so, so even though he does not want to want her, he does, but just for a good time. Bertie, needs the money that it takes to decorate Keith's house, to help some poor people, and she knows that Keith is actively on the lookout to get married and that she is not in the running, but she can not help her attraction to him, so unfortunately they act upon that attraction, so of course, he cheats on his so called girlfriend, and after he gets what he wants from poor Bertie, he dumps her.. Breaks her heart, then shows up with his milquetoast girlfriend, god I wanted to slap him, I really really wanted her to find someone else, someone that deserved her, because it was not Keith. I dont care how many times, he said that he wanted someone for his daughter, that was bull, his daughter did not like Gail, they didn't get along, and he was having problems with Maddie, because of it, and then he acts like he decided not to get married to someone he didn't love, when it was Gail, Gail who broke it off. Yeah!, Now don't get me wrong, I did enjoy the book, I did like Liza, the supposed nemesis, who wasn't and I am hoping for a book for her, and Cal, and I did like Gary, I liked everybody else, just not Keith.

Find My Way Home by Michele Summers is her first book in her new Harmony Homecomings series. Michele Summers has written a wonderfully delightful romance that takes place in a small town, Harmony, North Carolina. I thoroughly enjoyed this book.

We meet our heroine Bertie Anderson immediately, as she is busy rushing to finish decorating a house. Bertie is an interior designer, and within three weeks, she plans to leave Harmony to for a dream job at a big designing firm. Bertie’s dream is to make it big, and wants out of Harmony. The town though loves Bertie, as she is Miss do it all, since she helps everyone with whatever needs to be done. They don’t want Bertie to leave Harmony, as she is the glue that holds them together. But they accept that she will leave to fulfill her dreams.

Then she finds out that the mansion she has always wanted to design and decorate has been bought. When she meets the owner, Keith Morgan, a famous retired pro tennis player, Bertie is immediately attracted to this gorgeous hunk. Her “Aunt Franny” to her surprise is Keith’s real aunt, and the two of them are thrown together by the Aunt’s ultimatum. Keith must find a wife in three months or lose custody of his daughter to his Aunt. Bertie is given a huge payoff to stay for 3 more months and finish the house. The plot thickens, as everyone is pushing them together, except Keith and Bertie, who want nothing to do with each other.

Yes, Bertie becomes more and more lustful for Keith, but she wants her dreams and is determined not to fall for this known womanizer. Keith is also hot for Bertie and thinks of her as “Betty Boop”. Bertie is smart, bubbly, independent, outgoing, outspoken, everyone’s friend, and at times clumsy; especially when roller skating at the restaurant she owns with her brother, Cal, on roller derby night. Even Maddie, Keith’s young daughter wants Bertie to be her mom.

But Keith will not allow himself to fall for someone who reminds him of his dead wife, which is all in his mind, as Bertie is nothing like her. Keith wants a quiet stay at home woman, who will cook, clean, take care of Maddie, and do whatever he says, and that is not Bertie by a longshot. What follows is a fun story of two people who are sexually attracted to each other, and do everything they can to avoid one another, despite the need to work together. The sexual chemistry between them is sizzling. I loved Bertie, as she was fun to watch, dealing with her family and friends in this quaint town. There was so much humor throughout, that made this a enjoyable read. I really liked Keith, but his stubbornness and refusal to recognize that Bertie was the perfect woman for him, annoyed me and I wanted to smack him a lot.

Michele Summers has written a fun and delightful story, and I look forward to reading the next book in this series. If you want a fun small town story, and romance with obstacles, you need to read this book. It will be worth it.

Based on the blurb, I was really expecting a sizzling romance where the heroine and hero fight off their attraction because of their clash of personality and different goals in life.

Alas, that I didn’t get.

In fact, throughout the book I was battling with the kind of stereotypes that just rubbed me the wrong way. Especially because I really, really, didn’t like the characters, especially Keith. The story started nicely … well, what I mean by ‘started’ was basically chapter 1. Then it just went downhill for me when Keith described Bertie as “Betty Boop, the crazy interior decorator who thought he was gay” or “hair like Jessica Rabbit, but she’s short and curvy like Betty Boop, with round, green eyes and exaggerated, curly eyelashes” but then ended up kissing her. Basically in those first few chapters.

And I didn’t really love Bertie as well … not when she thought that interior designer was one level above ‘decorator’ simply because ‘decorator implied a bored housewife who only dabbled’. Truthfully I didn’t really see her as a smart designer *shrugs*. I was also not amused with the fact that Bertie staying in Harmony to work on Keith’s house was basically because she was offered a huge amount of money by Keith’s aunt. It was not mentioned in the blurb, of course, but again it rubbed me the wrong way because it was the kind of manipulation that I didn’t enjoy.

Throughout the book, the attraction between these two was basically ruled by lust. I swear, I was having a conniption every time I read Keith thinking about Bertie’s “world-class cleavage” or “voluptuous breasts.” Then, I gritted my teeth because Keith was choosing to be with “someone plain, simple, and sweet. Someone who liked to clean, bake cookies, and watch Disney movies with his daughter” because of course that is what ‘plain woman’ is good for, is it?

Basically the whole storyline just made me feel annoyed. It was hard to stay interested when I really dislike the main characters. I didn’t even think they both redeemed themselves in the end. Truthfully, I was more interested with Bertie’s friend-turned-enemy, Liza Palmer.

Finding My Way home is a heartwarming story about letting go of past mistakes and trusting your heart. Keith is a retired tennis pro who moves to Harmony, by the request of his aunt, to raise his ten year old daughter. His daughter is the reason he got married in the first place. Although he loves his daughter and he changed his ways when he became a dad, the same can not be said for his deceased wife. Now he is looking for a plain "vanilla" woman to marry so his daughter can have a mother.

Bertie is a firecracker. She is fun, smart sexy....the whole package. When Keith comes looking for her to redecorate the house he bought in Harmony sparks fly. Keith wants nothing to do with Bertie or her drama. Bertie just wants to finish this last job and get out of town. She wants to go to the big city and get a real life.

Bertie helps calm Keith when he overreacts with every situation with his daughter. Sometimes the things you think are bad for you are actually the things that keep you sane. Can Keith figure out what he really wants before it is too late? I really, really enjoyed this book. It reminds me of the kind of books that Kristan Higgins writes..... lots of attraction without the smut. This is a fun and sweet read.

I really enjoyed this book. It is cute, funny, sweet, swoon worthy and takes place in the South so what is not to love. I admit I am not usually a fan of any sports type romances they just do not appeal to me so I went in not expecting to enjoy this one as much as I really did. I won a copy of the book in a Valentine giveaway through Jess, http://frommetoyouvideophoto.blogspot... Virtual Assistant for Michele Summers. I was NOT ask to review, I just wanted to jump right on into Find My Way Home and review. There was fun bantering back and forth but it was not overdone. This whole book seemed to have the right balance of everything that makes an enjoyable read! Oh and silly but I always said if I ever had a daughter her name would be Francesca it has ALWAYS been one of my top favorite names. I am following Michele everywhere and look forward to reading something else by her. IF you are looking for something light, fast and easy to get into I recommend.

People are not always as they seem as the main characters in author Michele Summers’s latest release, FIND MY WAY HOME, discover.

In this first installment in the author’s Harmony Homecomings series, interior designer Bertie Anderson loves her hometown of Harmony, NC, but can’t wait to move to Atlanta and start her dream job for a major design company. Finishing her last job in Harmony, Bertie learns the old Victorian house she loves has been bought.

When Bertie is given the challenge of renovating the old Victorian in three months to receive a huge fee plus bonus, she can’t resist. The bonus will not only keep her out financially, but she can also help one of her only beloved charities.

Retired tennis pro Keith Morgan has moved to Harmony to save his relationship with his daughter. Leaving the bright lights, fast living and hot women in Miami was the right thing to do. Keith’s had enough drama from his late wife.

When Bertie and Keith are thrown together due to the renovation project, sparks and tempers begin to fly. Despite their strong attraction to each other, the pair is determined to go their separate ways. But their family and the residents of Harmony have something to say about that.

FIND MY WAY HOME is a hilarious, feel-good story that will tug on your heart strings, while leaving in you stitches from laughing. The author has created warm and likable characters. The small-town setting pulls you in for a family atmosphere.

The story moves at a quick pace and has a number of twists along the way. The romance sizzles as the story unfolds. Harmony has a lot to offer and this delightful read is just the beginning.

FTC Full Disclosure – A copy of this book was sent to me by the publisher in hopes I would review it. However, receiving the complimentary copy did not influence my review. The thoughts are completely my own and given honestly and freely.

Find My Way Home, a treat for lovers of Southern, romantic comedies, see the first of Michele Summers three-book Harmony Homecomings series. Summers depicts a quirky North Carolina town only 20 miles from a bigger, more progressive city. The townspeople of Harmony are challenged with  give-and-take on hilarious small town traits versus struggles of implementing modern, big city characteristics.

The two main characters who collide with this same give-and-take are hot, good looking, retired  tennis pro, Keith Morgan and artsy, funky, but talented interior designer, Bertie Anderson.

The desire in keeping a quaintness and uniqueness to this small town, but at the same time allowing economic growth, is challenging. As Harmony changes, so do Keith and Bertie. Keith has to give up his big city, fast-paced, wild-ass ways. And Bertie must surrender her ambitions of thinking bigger is always better.

With crazy ultimatums and an almost impossible deadline the two fumble, stumble and create such a scene that the whole town knows much more than they should; which only fuels the fire for disaster in their relationship. Don't despair, there's a satisfying happily ever after ending.

You’ll find yourself laughing out loud and wanting more from this author. Summers’ gift in writing snappy dialogue in an unpretentious way with smooth connections will keep your nose in this book to the very end. She’s comical and describes outlandish settings or situations in ways that literally allow you to picture them in your head. (Laughing the whole way, too!)

I give Find My Way Home a 5 star review, and look forward to reading many more romantic comedies by Michele Summers.

Find My Way Home is an enjoyable and cute debut novel. It's the first in a series about the town of Harmony. Bertie is an interior designer who is also everyone's go to person when they need something done in town. Everyone loves her, but she wants to leave town to start a new life. Keith has moved to his Aunt's town to try to make a new life with his daughter. When Aunt Francesca hires Bertie to renovate Keith's new home, the sparks fly. The problem? Bertie doesn't fit the quiet "motherly" image he thinks should be a new mom to his child.

I thought these two were cute together. It was fun to watch them try to fight their attraction to each other. Bertie is larger than life with a really big heart. I loved her character and she was just the thing that Keith needed. The only thing that annoyed me about the story was the amount of times that Keith mentioned Bertie's generous breasts. After the 4th or 5th time, I think I got the point.

There are other characters that round out the story nicely. I wish we could have gotten more of Cal and Liza's story. That looked to be intriguing, but we only get a glimpse of them getting together. Maybe there will be a novella? Anyway, this is a cute read and one I recommend trying out.

A cute romance set in a small town where you can't hide anything.

Bertie is full of life, and has way too many things to do. I liked her as she was fun, loved her job and was nice.

Keith, oh Keith, I mean he was nice and all but I so wanted to kick him in the balls. Not cos he was evil or anything but just stupid. See his aunt has told him to get marry in 3 months. So what does he do? He goes after the safe girl who he feels nothing for. The woman he would be tired of after a week. But it's the woman who bakes, is happy and safe. Oh men! While Bertie has too big boobs, dances and sings too much. *kicks him*. But we all know hey will get together in the end. Just the way there is long as he does not see that what is before him is perfect.

The way there is fun though, everyone except him and Bertie can see they should be together. There are misunderstandings, passion and a fun town to read about,

fun

Ooh I loved this story! Sweet, busy, volunteers for everything, can’t say no Bertie was dead set on leaving her little town to further her interior design career. Until she met Keith that is. Yummy former tennis star Keith. He sounds divine, other than being a total moron when it comes to what he really wants. Ok, maybe not total moron, but he really should have opened his eyes a teensy bit instead of going the safe route to begin with. Silly man. He did redeem himself when he mentioned his cowboy boots and hat though.

Thank you Michelle and Sourcebooks Casablanca for the opportunity to read and review such a great story!! Just hit pre-order on Amazon for the paperback!

3 1/2*
Very strong debut novel for this author.
A great cast of characters that are well written makes this book an enjoyable read.
While the plot is a tiny bit familiar (famous womanizing bad boy has to make good for his child, enter bumbling loveable town good girl) you won't notice while you are swept up in the doings of the town and it's inhabitants.
I was a little taken aback by such rapid time changes in the book. I understand why it was done but it seemed as though every other chapter it was "three weeks later". This certainly kept the plot moving forward.
Readers of Rachel Gibson will probably be happy with Michele Summers, who similarly uses loveable characters and humorous situations to advance her story to a satisfying ending.
I'm sure with so many quirky other people introduced that this will become a series.

I didn't want to finish Find My Way Home by Michele Summers today! What a fun read this was. Growing up in a small town in NC, I couldn't help but think "Is this someone I know??" I love how Michele never skipped a detail to the point where I could smell gardenias or picture the remodel taking place. The relationships are authentic and highly familiar. I think Francesca was my favorite, because she knew all along what she was doing. The relationship and constant tension between Bertie and Keith had me on my toes, not sure how things would work out between the two of them. I loved the comparison of Harmony to Mayberry and the southern charm that flooded the book from beginning to end! I recommend this book to all of my friends and family, and anyone who enjoys a witty, touched by a true southerner, in a classic kind of way!

Find My Way Home by Michele Summers was an absolute laugh out loud hilarious read that tangled with the readers emotions, between Bertie and Keith's feelings to the rest of the Harmony townsfolk. Aunt Francesca's scenes were an absolute hoot to read and the way she steered Keith and his emotions almost made you feel sorry for Keith's character. So many of Bertie's antics will have you rolling with laughter throughout the book! A lot of sentiments in the story that had you sympathising for the characters.

Find My Way Home by Michele Summers was a fabulous read that did not disappoint.

I loved this book. The author kept it going and entertained me with very funny and unexpected events that took place.
Bertie was cute but a bit of a clutz which make me laugh at all that she got into. Keith made me crazy at times because I wanted him to fall in love with Bertie. But then... I loved him and he ended up being someone I'd want to fall for! LOL.
Anyways.. Michele Summers is a fabulous entertainer. She keeps the readers laughing and wanting more as you read the book. Very cute, funny and well written.
I just wish her next book would come out sooner! I don't know if I can wait till Feb. 2015.

What a lovely gentle read, how very refreshing. This first book in Michele Summers' Harmony Homecoming series has hooked me for sure. I love a good small town romance populated by quirky characters and where the town is almost a character in itself. The hero and heroine were engaging and interesting, I was drawn to them emotionally and was invested in them reaching their happily ever after. The story is well plotted, the pacing is even and the dialogue quite witty. I enjoyed my trip to Harmony and look forward to more.

Bertie n Keith, what an interesting couple, so did Cal n Lisa.

I love small town story, it is sweet, simple. People living there r easy without pressure. I do want living there but I can't, because I m no American, n living in a city, crowd, noisy n pack all the time

A simple story with loves n hates, a man who looking for a new life after retried n a woman who always want way out from the small town, but when she found out she was truly in love living there, she won't be away anymore

This was a cute, fun romance. Michele Summers is a good author and her style is easy to read and the story flows nicely. I enjoyed the characters and the small town of Harmony! I would read another book by this author. The only downside was the excessive use of the "F Word".....there was really no need to use it and it did take away from the fun summer read!

I'm sorry, author, but I did not like this. I kept reading because I really did like Sweet Southern Trouble, but this one was frustrating and disappointing. I won't go in to tons of detail, but basically, the hero is a jerk. A real, big, jerk, and he is a jerk the whole time! I kept reading, thinking 'surely, he is going to change his attitude. Surely, we're going to find out that he is a wonderful guy, who has been misunderstood!' NOPE! Actually, 'Jerk' is too nice of a word for him, but I am trying not to be crude. He treats the heroine horribly over and over again! And then again! Right up to the end of the story! If an man treated me the way he treated her even ONCE, he would never get another chance with me. This is supposed to be a ROMANCE - with a HERO, but what kind of hero tells his lady, 'it was just sex. It didn't mean anything" ??? Not any hero I have ever liked!! That kind of statement is for normal A**hole guys, not romance heroes!! That is only one of MANY examples of him treating the sweet heroine terribly, and worse yet, 'it was just sex, I don't want you' is one of the last things he says to her before they get their 'HEA'! Poor girl! Don't do it! You deserve better! OTHER people eventually make the relationship workout, not the hero himself, and this was very confusing to me. Did the author think we wouldn't notice or care that he never really made any effort to repair all the damage he had done to the woman he 'loves'? That's another thing, by the last 25% of the book, we were in full Tell But Don't Show mode. Everything was just explained in a rushed way, which absolutely no feeling. We didn't even get to experience any of the scenes ??? Lastly, I am compelled to mention that the man is a terrible father! He is constantly exploding on his daughter and telling her to go away. She's only ten, and she has already been sent to boarding school, so he can drink and womanize. While the poor child is home for a very short visit with him, he is doing everything except spend time with her, including bringing strange woman with him every time he is supposed to have an outing with the daughter. I just can't.
Summary: Very likely, this man is the WORST romance hero I have ever read.
