Everyone tells little girls to be themselves around boys, but let’s face it, that’s simply the worst piece of advice ever. What if “yourself” is not exactly an appealing woman? Katherine Bianchi was raised to be herself, a smart, posh, stylish girl from New York City; the problem is that “herself” also included eating like a truck driver and cursing like a sailor, with a genetic inability to take bullshit from anyone. Not necessarily an appealing description in her pretentious environment.

That’s why, at 25, she was predestined to live a crazy cat lady life, or to be the overachiever workaholic she had become since college. But her perfect life plans got messed up when she met Dylan Berkeley, a handsome billionaire, owner of BKY Enterprises, who never learned the meaning of the word NO. With a Ben & Jerry’s lifestyle (lots of options, exciting flavors, and never repeating a scoop), Berkeley wasn’t intimidated by Katherine’s “ice heart bitch” reputation; the challenge of having her became a personal task he couldn’t forget. How to avoid a NO from a girl who has never said YES for an answer?

Warning: 18+ Contains sex scenes and lots of unnecessary profanities.

I loved this book!! Dylan and Katherine are two challenging heroes, and this a very nice romance and super funny too. The writer took inspiration from 50 Shades of Grey, but this book is very original and the characters are sexy and fun!!

Dylan Berkeley is a 28 years old sexy Forbes Billionaire, tall, blue eyes and wears always 3 piece suits! He likes a challenge...and Katherine is one!! He inherited an empire when he was 18 and has a very closed personality. He doesn't date, he has only two male friends and he lost his parents in a plane crash!

Katherine Bianchi is a 25 years old rich girl, who works in advertising and who swears like a sailor and eats like a wale, she reminded me of Max in "2 Broke Girls" series, she has her same physic, personality, a lot of sarcasm and humor. She never lets the others see her fragility and her self esteem problems, she doesn't feel rich and hates the superficial world of rich people surrounding her!! She's very bitchy!

And she has only two best friends Chelle (Michelle) a photographer, a rich blonde who falls in love too often and is dumped too often and Kevin, a man slut with whom she shares her flat.

Kate and Michelle

Dylan will chase Kate a lot and she will not give in easily...Dylan is used to get what he wants but Kate makes it clear to him that he will never get her!

Book 1 ends with a cliffhanger, Book 2 is Pink Ice.

So I have been debating how to rate this book. I want to clarify that I did not finish the book. There were a few problems with it for me.

1)Editing. An absolute must. I read that this author's first language is not English. Ok, that's fine, but there were a lot of fairly simple errors that need to be cleaned up.

2) The condescending boss. I could not get past his constant "kiddo" remarks. She would have filed a lawsuit against a boss who talked down to her the way he did.

3) I felt no connection to Dylan. He shows up, he's bossy and basically a stalker.

4) Way too many similarities to FSoG. The rich, incredibly good looking and smart Dominant male who takes too many liberties. The chastising for foul language. The experienced guy taking in the inexperienced female, I could go on.

5) The dialogue was pretty choppy at times and felt a little off. (This could be due to the language issue listed earlier.)

I do think that Carolina Soto has talent. (Keep writing!) If she could work with an editor and clean up some of the details, this could be a really good book. The similarities to FSoG would not be such a huge deal to me if the writing were cleaner. So, If I had to rate this one, probably going to be a low rating for me. Sorry, it just didn't work for me.

Katherine - the closed-off, self-conscious leading female whose whole life revolves around her work, parents and weekend routine filled with T.V. and junkfood.
Dylan - the equally distant, overbearing leading male with piercing Blue Eyes, never dates and has become stalkishly infatuated with the Icy Ms. Bianchi.

Two worlds collide the night Kate and her best friend Michelle meet the handsome men at dinner while on a Girl's Shopping Spree Vacation to forget Chelle's latest breakup. Dylan can't take his eyes off of Katherine and while she is drawn to his dark good looks and blue eyes, she isn't about to let her guard down. Never trusting and self-conscious of her own appearance, she blows off his attention as a play to get her into bed and nothing more. When Dylan does make his move, he comes face to face with a brick wall and then pure, hot anger at his boldness.

"He probably wanted someone to spend the night with, and I was near. Maybe he was too tired to look for someone else so he decided to take what he thought was easy. I was just the flavor of the evening, and if he lived, as I supposed, in a Ben and Jerry's universe, I was just one of the many flavors."

As hard as Kate pushes him away, he just pushes that much harder to get close. The back and forth banter was entertaining, snarky and kept you guessing where it would lead. Dylan could be so cold and distant from the rest of the world but when it involved Kate, his emotions exploded and swirled around like a hurricane. He was determined to get Kate by whatever means, pushing past all of her boundaries, to the wall of ice in her chest. Kate just as stubbornly refused that Dylan meant anything to her, friends that sometimes sleep together was all she was capable of giving him.

Things heat up and get quite intense, just when you think they are making progress, BAM - Kate is pissed and they end up three steps back. She isn't used to the daily invasion in her life but most of all, she isn't used to feeling something for someone other than her parents or two best friends. I am really rooting for Dylan in this one. I just want to shake the stubbornness out of Kate! The end will throw your emotions in utter chaos and I have to read Book 2 to find out what happens next!

This is the debut novel for Carolina Soto and the first book in the Ice series. The cover (shoes!) and blurb were winners for me and enticed me in to read.

I must admit the first couple of chapters were hard going but this was getting to know the writing style of this new author and also the characters who were two headstrong individuals that at first were not portraying the warmth that is needed to grab the reader’s emotion. However, after a while I clicked into the psyche of Katherine and Dylan and it was all systems go!

Katherine Bianchi is a society ‘princess’ used to getting what she wants and controlling her life from an early age. She doesn’t let many people into her inner circle besides her best friends Michelle and Kevin, who is also her housemate. Katherine doesn’t date and keeps men at an arm’s length, after all falling for somebody gave them control over her emotions and nobody took control of Ms Bianchi. She swears like a trouper, eats junk food like a big man and is a lover of trash TV, but being by herself at the weekend she can do what she wants.

Dylan Berkeley, the blue eyed, sexy Forbes billionaire is an arrogant CEO of his empire. He doesn’t apologise for who or what he is and when he wants something he gets it, no questions asked or needed. Like Katherine he is hiding behind his own ice cover and nobody has ever been able to thaw it that is until a certain society beauty throws him off his feet.

Kathryn agreed to go on a shopping trip outside of New York with Michelle and it is here they meet Mark and Spence with their friend/boss Dylan. Michelle and Mark hit it off straight away, whereas for Katherine and Dylan, he immediately wants her but she immediately hates him and his arrogance.

The story then progresses with Dylan and Katherine ‘one step forward and two steps back’ dance of a relationship, however this is not a love story, they are not dating as they keep telling each other. Dylan’s intent is purely to own, Katherine’s is to purely deflect against this. The reader is taken along on this crazy journey but is privy to see from an outsider’s advantage of the ice from each side thawing.

I totally loved both characters and I absolutely ‘got’ Katherine. I could see lots of my own traits in her that it was scary! It was brilliantly depicted in her standoffish ways, her controlling stance in everything she did. I could understand why people tried to avoid her! But those closest to her could see what a wonderful person she was and accepted her ways without question. Although Michelle did get frustrated of her reluctance to commit to any man. Dylan was an absolute dream of an alpha billionaire who at first seemed an over the top stalker that he seemed a little disconcerting. Some people would have had him incarcerated without a doubt! However he drew the reader in to his boorish ways and his twinkling eyes as underneath it all he was a hurting boy who missed his doting Mom and Dad and had never gotten over their deaths from when he was an impressionable teen. To see how he had changed in adulthood gave the reader a great insight.

The ending was a bit of a shocker, as there I was on the road to happy endings when with a boom a corner was crash bang walloped straight between my eyes! So glad the next book is already out so I can whip right on to find out what will happen after that.

A fabulous debut by Ms Soto who has produced a wonderful read. Four stars!

I think Carolina Soto has hit a home run out of the park on her first try. I would love to have given this book 5 stars but the story wasn't without some missteps her and there. (for me) I received this book as an ARC for an honest reivew. I do not recall ever reading a character like Katherine. I don't think she ever had a day dream about what her wedding would be like when grew up or who she would marry or how many kids she would have. She is unapologetic about the way she is. She does not seek anyone's approval, she says what she thinks, she does what she wants. One of the things whe doesn't want is to be a "stepford wife". This what a plot hole for me. Katherine states two or three times within the story she does not want to be or become a stepford wife without any explanation why this is a big deal to her. Katherine meets Dylan and immediately there is tension and antagonism and attitude between the two of them. Dylan is a twenty something billionaire with an entourage of two "trusted" friends. He does not "date" and he always gets what he wants. He also does't do friendship. Ha! Ms. Soto makes a liar out of him. That is the beauty of this story. The first line of Katherine and Dylan's story is "This is not a love story". And it is not in the atypical definition of the phrase. The author takes us on the journey, (albeit slow) from their first meeting through friendship and dating. She left me with wanting more immediately and there is a second book. I hate that I have to wait but wait I will.

(Just a few more things - I don't think the secondary best friend character is developed and maintained throughout the story appropriately. Michelle is Katherine's best friend and the reason Katherine and Dylan meet. She develops a relationship with one of Dyaln's entourage but all of a sudden they are missing from the story. Finally, I touched on the stepford wife issue. There has to be a reason for how and why Katherine has become the person she is and I do not feel there is any back story. Did I mention the sex was hot? Will it was but I would actually have liked more once their relationship reached this point).

To summarize - I am so jealous that Caroline Soto wrote such a great story on first try. I highly recommend this book and look forward to future titles by her. One final thought I have about this book. Blue Ice contains characters and a story line that is the same but different. So for every time you have read the line "If you liked ______, you'll like this book. Here you will find that statement to be true. If you like Sylvia Day or J. Kenner or Anne Melody or Jennifer Probst or Nicole Edwards then you will like Blue Ice.

*** I received a copy of this book in exchange for a honest review***

Let me start off by saying, I loved this story. I adore Katherine's no bs attitude. I appreciate that she swears like a sailor, we could be bffs if she were real. Dylan is everything I want in a fantasy. The cliffhanger is a killer, please tell me the sequel will be out soon! My thoughts are scattered because it's the middle of the night and I just finished reading. I read a few other reviews and I would like to address two things. 1. The comparison to FSOG. Yes, I can see the similarities, but I also appreciate the fact that the author didn't write her heroine as a complete doormat, so beyond the rich, successful, super dominate business tycoon, I think the similarities end. 2. I saw a review or two that was very critical of grammar and dialect, the reviewers also stated that like me, they had received an advanced copy. WTF people? You do realize that we are not supposed to be judging ARCs as finished products, right? We are receiving a free copy of a book, that most of the time hasn't gone through final editing yet. Now, if the book is being sold with a ton of errors, completely different, but don't give a low rating on a unfinished product based on that. End rant.

Bottom line, I very much enjoyed this story and I will be impatiently awaiting the sequel.

Katie might have some serious commitment issues, but she is a totally hardcore bitch with the most awesome anger problems.

Like when she broke the quarterback’s arm, back in high school the night before the big game because he "grabbed her ass".

"Why on Earth people want to talk about awkward topics, we can live our lives ignoring things that make us uncomfortable, why to talk about them."

"Blue Eyes asked for a coin, of course, rich men don’t carry change, that’s for stupid mortals."

“You always do what you want, don’t you pretentious bastard?Watch your fucking mouth Katherine. Again, he was pairing my badattitude."

BLUE ICE takes everything “cold” to a whole new level!

Katherine is perceived as a frigid bitch, but I see the truth – she just never encountered the right person to heat her up to melt that frosty front she dons. Then there’s Dylan Berkley. He has loads of cold hard cash, but he’s going to have to come up with a better way to lure Katherine in because she has plenty of cash padding her pockets and doesn’t need his.

Any author who can incorporate Ben & Jerry’s in a book blurb that has absolutely nothing to do with ice cream is a winner in my book! Author Carolina Soto paints the most delicious picture when describing Dylan Berkeley’s lifestyle:
With a Ben & Jerry’s lifestyle (lots of options, exciting flavors, and never repeating a scoop). . .
From the moment Katherine and Dylan met, I knew it was going to be an exciting adventure because the sparks begin to fly immediately – they feigned disinterest, but any fool could see the truth! The real fun began when their chance encounter morphed into something else entirely, something unavoidable – something to do with her livelihood and to Dylan’s delight, something that forced Katherine to spend time with him!

BLUE ICE, like the real world, isn’t all perfect and pretty. Although I was sad that we didn’t get that picture-perfect “happily ever after,” we did get a promise of an HEA in Carolina Soto’s follow up book that will hopefully (but not confirmed) be out in early 2014. I felt that Ms. Soto was true to Katherine and Dylan’s strong personalities by ending the book they way she did and anything else would have been out of character, therefore unbelievable. BLUE ICE is a great start to new author, Carolina Soto’s writing career and is set to release on October, 30, 2013, so go ahead and add it to your never-ending TBR pile!

First off let me just say it is about time we call them what they are people.....BOOBS! Yes, the elephant in the room is now called BOOBS! Love the fact The Ms. Soto refers to her "parts" with what we as women refer to them as. Not your health teacher or doctor! Your fellow friends in the female social pool. Suit up sisters cuz you are in for some real sexy scenes from a real woman's inner monologue.
First few chapters were a bit much for a gal 10years the senior of the main character Katherine but I had no problem reliving some of the situations in my head. She is head strong and considered a bitch because she takes no shit and holds no punches back, literally. She is my hero among a sea of over drama momma twenty somethings. She is comfortable in her skin but not so much with the idea of someone touching back. She has the emotional baggage of a horder on a garage sale. Now the love interest is Dylan Fucking Berkley. That is not his middle name but you will soon understand why I refer to him as such. Hot, Handsome, & Horny. The three H's of Rich basterds with tunnel vision. He has it bad for a girl who could give two rats asses if he wanted her number let alone her body. Her friends are very aware of her inability to "hookup" or even communicate in a non violent way with the opposite sex and most same sex were a bit frightened of her as well. Again love this Bitch! And apparently Mr. Berkley does too. She isn't like crazy fists flying bar fight but she holds her own. Throughout the book you feel them move forward but both fall prey to the emotional baggage they carry. You will beg them to check that shit and free themselves up for the mile high club! Be ready for Dylan to be a control freak but so is Katherine. They are like static electricity. He wants her to come to him. She drags her feet. They collide and sparks fly! Both are shocked and hurt and in the end they are both clingy!
This is my first review of a book by an author who has just written her first book. Honestly I think if you don't like this book you can suck it and then write about in your own review. Me personally I am going to stalk Ms. Soto until she releases the next instalment. Until then read this book! You will laugh and squirm. Sometimes at the same time but for different reasons I am sure.

Katherine Bianchi is a complete Type A personality. She’s has a strong persona and is a perfectionist, workaholic, and control freak but really it’s somewhat of a façade to hid the fact that she’s also imperceptibly broken and insecure. On the weekends, she has a love of junk food and television. She also loves to cuss so if that kind of language bothers you, you might want to skip this title. I, on the other hand, love to use colorful language around my nearest and dearest. For a majority of the book, Kate seems to be in control but it’s fun to see it start to slip away the further in you read. In face towards the end, she really starts to reveal some submissive tendencies.

On the surface Dylan Berkeley seems like a straight forward alpha male character. As a billionaire entitled playboy, he tries to control Kate from the minute he sets eyes on her, yet she keeps rejecting him. Fortunately, he doesn’t give up and continues to pursue her and really just break her down bit by bit.

There is a lot of back and forth between Katherine and Dylan. Usually in other books I kind of get fed up with too much but in this one it only adds fuel to the fire. There are some clear influences by to other popular romances however this one differs with the overall relationship between the two main characters. They have a largely tactless connection which seems to evolve throughout the story. At times they are downright horrible to each other, while other instances they seem to be a bit of kindred spirits.

There are some rough patches and seemingly disjointed phrases, however, I found this relatively easy to look past and still find the overall story enjoyable.

Fair warning, this is the first of a two book series. It does end with a surprising cliffhanger. In my mind I thought I knew who and what would come between and BAM, I was completely wrong. So now I have to wait for the second installment to see where their story goes. Overall, I find this to be an intriguing and unique enough book of what can sometimes fall prey to clichés.

3.5 Swearing Stars!

25 year old Katie has never really had a boyfriend, she's never wanted on either. So when her best friend drags her to San Antonio after her last relationship falls apart she helps a friend out. What she doesn't expect is to meet Dylan, CEO of his own company and asshole. Dylan instantly wants Katie the moment he sees her and and he isn't afraid to tell her.

However, Katie isn't into Mr. Tall, Dark, and Handsome and wants nothing to do with him. Literally she runs away from him numerous times. Slowly and I mean very slowly Katie begins to let him in, only to push him out when she lets her own insecurities get in the way. Dylan knows what he wants though and he's willing to fight for Katie, but when things become too serious and Katie expresses wanting more than he's willing to give down the road, they face the question as to whether it's worth it.

I agree that some phrases did sound a little off, I always think it sounds weird when I read "I am going" "You could not" ect. I use contractions for the most part so some sentences did sound a bit funny, but after learning that english wasn't her first language it's easy to understand why it was written like that. English is the hardest language to learn especially with all the many different spellings we have for the same word. I know somewhere it said "I miss you mommy two." Or something like that, when it should be 'too" It wan't that big of a deal though, at least to me anyway.

I really liked the book, I mean I still don't get why Katie was that closed off, I get she was scared but she drew to many conclusions about a situation without really thinking them through. I also didn't mind the swearing. She lets you know in the blurb itself that it swears so I don't get why people are going crazy that they didn't like it because of that, I mean she warns you.

Overall it was a really good book, and easy quick read that I'd recommend,

Katherine is a woman who has grown up to do as she pleases and say what she wants. She works at a successful company and enjoys her posh life in New York. One day while Katherine and her best friend, Michelle are on a girls shopping spree vacation to forget about Michelle's latest breakup they bump into some handsome men. One of them is Dylan, a successful, handsome, single billionaire. She is immediately drawn in to his great looks especially his blue eyes. Katherine is a self-conscious about her appearance and believes that Dylan only wants to get into her pants and that's all. So she blows him off. But Dylan doesn't take no for an answer and continues to pursue her.
To the rest of the world, Dylan may seem cold and detached but when it comes to Katherine he will do anything to have her. To make her understand that she means a lot to him. Just when the two get further in their relationship, Katherine blows up because of her insecurities and they end up three steps behind. I loved their snarky comments to each other. Dylan is so sweet and he tries so hard to get past Katherine's wall. I'm rooting for him. I can't wait to read the next book because I need to know what's going to happen after the cliffhanger. One thing I wish there was more of is Michelle, Marc, and Spencer. I loved the secondary characters. I mean it was because of Michelle that Katherine met Dylan. But anyways, overall it was a great book. I have to say that the author, Caroline Soto, did a great job for her first book.

Negative stuff first: This book is full of editing errors - I read in other reviews that English is not the author's first language which I didn't know until now.

I thought Dylan was very creepy & stalkerish. Katherine told him right away she wasn't interested & he completely invaded her privacy multiple times. I was rather surprised she continued the relationship with him instead of reporting him for stalking.

I don't remember seeing the resolution to the industrial espionage issue. I know Katherine addressed it in a meeting, but I don't remember it actually being resolved. I would have liked know what happened. Maybe that comes in the next book?

Dylan pissed me off with getting angry at Katherine for her cursing then cursing back at her. Double standard much??

Now for the positives: I loved Katherine. She stayed true to herself. She kept telling people she wasn't a nice person, but yet she supported her friends when they needed it. She didn't try to change to attract a man. She stayed loyal to her boss.

She knew that she wasn't ready to walk away from her job and be the "little woman" that Dylan basically demanded even though she was developing strong feelings; possibly even falling in love with him, so she walked away from him. That took guts. It makes me wonder what comes next.

Thank you Carolina for the opportunity to read your book. I did enjoy it.

Blue Ice (Ice #1) by Carolina Soto
4 out of 5

The best part of this book is leading man, Dylan Berkeley. He is sweet, funny, and tenacious when it comes to things he wants. The leading lady, Katherine Bianchi, on the other hand, leaves a lot to be desired. I love the fact that she pulls no punches and doesn't apologize for who she is. However, I found myself annoyed that she continued to push Dylan away even when he clearly had feelings for her and wanted to be with her. He has way more patience than I do because I would've walked away from Katherine’s attitude long before he does. The more we learn about Katherine’s past, the more questions I have about why she’s so closed off and angry all the time. There doesn't seem to be any reason for her anger and I spent a lot of time wanting her to get over whatever her problem was.

Soto is a good storyteller, and the story flows really well. When Dylan and Katherine aren't angry with each other, they have wonderful chemistry and Soto writes some really steamy scenes for them. If only I could have connected with Katherine the way I did with Dylan, I would've loved this book. I am reading the next book in this series because I am invested in this couple and really want Dylan to be happy and Katherine to release whatever is holding her back. I’m really hoping they get their happily-ever-after!

I was given this book from the author for an honest review.

This was a good book. Even though there were some grammatical errors, it was a good book.

We meet Katherine Bianchi, who has tough skin on the outside, takes no BS from anyone including from her best friends Michelle and Kevin, but on the inside, she has low self-esteem and low self confidence.

She meets Dylan Berkeley and his friends Marc and Spencer, while they were in San Antonio, so Michelle can forgot her last boyfriend and shop. The one thing that Katherine really notices about Dylan is his striking blue eyes. She's nicknamed him Blue Eyes. Dylan, is a very persistent man, to get what he wants and he wants Katherine. Katherine, isn't one to put up with his crap and the things he does to pursue her.

As the story continues, Kathrine and Dylan have an only friends relationship. Katherine, not looking to just hook-up, but some day to have a family and Dylan, has said from the beginning he's not one that has relationships or gf's. But Dylan, wants to spend all this time with her, but he doesn't do relationships. There is a line that kind of get's blurred because a friend, doesn't spend all this time and makes it point to check on her and safety.

I can't wait to read the next book, you're kind of left with a cliffhanger.

Though English is not Ms. Soto's first language, I enjoyed this story...at times. I had issues with it's constant angst and drama where Katherine (the heroine) was concerned. Her hatefulness was downright over the top at times, and at others, just completely unnecessary. I get that both Dylan, the hero and Katherine carried tons of baggage...who doesn't? But wow, to be THAT stubborn and negative only encouraged me to continue disliking her. I'll admit, the writing style might have had more to do with my on again/off again dislike for Katherine. Even when she and Dylan sent texts to one another, it was in shouty caps which distracted me.

I have to admit something, though. Katherine's inner banter DID make me laugh...a lot. That was good and it also kept me flipping the pages. As her relationship with Dylan evolved, the steam factor rose as well...which was equally fulfilling when you got past all the f-bombs Katherine would throw at him.

For a first attempt, this isn't a bad story, It just needs a good editor along with giving Katherine a good slap on the wrist for a foul mouth and equally bad behavior.

4 1/2 stars What a debut novel! I loved the way that Kate and Dylan verbally sparred with each other. It was a very real life look at how romance does really take place most of the time. It starts slowly and builds from there. Dylan doesn't like being told no. Kate really doesn't care and doesn't want to be the next flavor of the week for Dylan. I can say that the ending caught me off guard, but that I am totally looking forward to reading the second book when it comes out. I really would like to know what happens to these characters, and if they get their HEA, because sometimes in real life you don't. Carolina did a fantastic job with this book. The storyline flows right along, the characters are ones that I want to know more about and care what happens. For a first time book, this was great!

Blue Ice is a great book. I was given a copy in exchange for an honest review. I was hooked on this story from the beginning! I LOVED Carolina Soto's main character, Katherine! Katie is a very head strong, determined and strong woman who is against becoming a "Stepford Wife" She does not have time for men and their games, until she meets Dylan. I loved Katie's attitude, her thoughts had me laughing and she not your typical New York girl. She looks the part, designer clothes and shoes, but she eats and swears like a trucker. Dylan is your drop-dead gorgeous forbs billionaire who is never told no, until he meets the beautiful Katherine. This book is funny, has some sad parts and some hot & steamy scenes. You knocked it out of the park with your first book Carolina, I look forward to your next book! Thank you for an awesome read!

Blue ice book one

4 out of 5 fangs

Let me start if by saying this was a good book. I enjoyed how smooth the writing was and it made me laugh a few times. What I did not like was all the designer name drops and I could really careless about what shoes you bought. Dylan was your typical rich, hottie who had amazing blue eyes. My problem with him was his attitude, one minute he was like all over Kate being jealous then next " I don't date". I was confused by his up and down demeanor.

Katherine was you cold as ice kinda girl who did not think anyone like Dylan could want her. So she tried to stay away and not let him too close but she had a soft spot for those blue eyes( who won't) but when Dylan ask her to move to Chicago that's when all heck breaks loose. Book 2 pink ice here I come!

True to Ms. Soto's words this was not a "love story." Instead it's a real life story and my oh my what a story it is. I was instantly captivated by how strong both the hero and heroine were. Although their strengths can be interpreted as douchebaggy and bitchy I like to think they're just a lil misunderstood lol.

"Why do you think no one can want you, just you …"

"Because you can't want what you don't know ..."

This was a great debut novel to what has the potential to be a great series. I'm anxiously waiting to see how Soto will manage to give two very strong characters their well deserved HEA without having to compromise what I love most about them.

Carolina Soto's debut novel opens the door for a promising series.

Blue Ice is not your typical love story... The expected roles are reversed; Dylan is the one trying to chisel through Katherine’s tough exterior. Katherine throws up wall after wall, at times making it difficult for even the reader to like her, but in the end you can’t help but love her, and have no doubt why Dylan is so drawn to her.

Blue Ice is edgy and realistic. As the author writes, “This is not a love story…” but it sure holds the promise for one. Anxiously awaiting the second installment.

Damn that cliffhanger...It is a good read....I love it!!!

Dylan "Blue Eyes" and Katherine "Doll"

Dylan was relentless in his pursuit of Katherine...she was the first person to remind of his mother.

I love Katherine...even though her ovaries burst every time she saw him...she never let her wall fall down.

Katherine needs to realize that she needs to stop running and face her problems head on. She needs to speak to Dylan and tell him what's really in her heart.

I would have given this book 5 stars if not for some serious editing and the cliffhanger.
I was impressed to learn this was a debut novel. Loved the main characters and the story, but so much is left unsaid. And just so stubborn for no reason. Anyhow, loved the romance and the leads and can't wait to read more about them. When is the sequel coming out? Well done!

I love the writing and the humor. I was fully into the story. I loved Dylan, but sometimes I really had problems with Katie. I had so much trouble coming to grips with her attitude. I'm interested to see how book two is going to take her character.
