Саттор Турсун, (Sattor Tursun) - writer, translator. Member of the Writers 'Union of Tajikistan (1972) and the Writers' Union of the USSR (1972), People's Writer of Tajikistan (1998).

Sattor Tursun was born on February 15 , 1946 in Pasurkh village of Baysun district of Surkhandarya region of the Republic of Uzbekistan in a peasant family . In 1970 he graduated from the Arabic department of the Faculty of Oriental Studies of the Tajik State University . He started his career in the famous magazine "Voice of the East" and for twenty years worked as head of the essay and journalism department , head of the prose department , deputy editor, acting editor-in-chief of this magazine. From 1990 to 1991 he was the head of the Ideological Department of the Central Committee of the Communist Party of Tajikistan. In 1993, the first spokesman for the head of state Emomali RahmonAlthough he did not work much in this position, his role in the establishment of this institution in the Executive Office is considered important.
