HUNTED. ON THE RUN. THEN, HELD HOSTAGE BY HER MATES. As a rare breed of prey shifter, Luna has been hunted most of her life for what she is. She learned not to trust predator shifters—especially of the alpha male variety—after losing her family to the claws of a wolf pack, led by her ex-boyfriend. Hello, trust issues . So, when multiple deadly predator shifters claim she is their mate and try to keep her to themselves, she will do everything she can to escape them. Especially considering the men are enemies, and she is bound to be caught in their jealous crossfire. HELD CAPTIVE BY FOUR OF THE MOST DANGEROUS PREDATOR SHIFTERS IN EXISTENCE. A possessive, grunting alpha werewolf with an overactive sex drive. A tattooed, black-leather-jacket-wearing basilisk with an attitude problem and a penchant for dominantly wrapping his fingers around her throat. A seductive vampire with a drugging bite that makes her eyes roll back in her head. A smirking, funny fox shifter who can tell when she is lying. Being held hostage by these alpha men is one thing, but the more time an omega prey shifter spends in the presence of a predator, the more likely her heat is triggered. If she cannot escape them in time, her body will betray her—begging for their touch. Spoiler it’s already betraying her.
* * * *This is a full-novel length standalone reverse harem / why choose, high-heat shifter romance of almost 100,000 words. Readers 18+. PRETTY LITTLE PREY is an extremely spicy paranormal reverse harem romance that contains omega-verse heat, light bullying from one of the harem members (in the enemies-to-lovers sense), dominant and dirty-talking alpha men, and a deeply jealous love triangle between two of the harem members who are rivals not willing to share her affection. But, yay for happy endings full of group sex!
I’m still looking for the plot with this one. It is smut first. The plot is a barely there string that will vaguely be mentioned when absolutely needed. Which is rarely. I’m not mad at it, I just wasn’t expecting this book to be purely smut. It’s not what my mood reader brain wants to read right this moment so I’ll just DNF here. The writing is ok. Though the story jumps a lot. It’s sometimes jarring but if you’re reading this book you’re probably more interested in the smut than anything else. So take that as you will 🥴
It could have been worse? I was quite surprised that there was a story at all. The smut was nice, the prey / predator thing completely new to me. I was good entertained and i liked the characters, but i wished the writer would have gone a bit deeper into them, revealing us more about them. But yeah, as i said, could have been worse.
A unique twist on the omega/alpha romance that involves a variety of paranormal creatures that make up two unique packs that represent light vs dark. It is prophesied that the kings of light and dark will share a mate which is going to be a feat of epic proportions when the two kings hate each other. Will having the same mate lead them to war or finally provide peace? What happens when they discover their omega is a prey species rather than a predator like their packs? Some seriously intriguing themes are woven throughout that show that you shouldn't judge someone by their outward appearance, but rather get to know their character. It also has themes of acceptance, protecting those that are weak, underestimating someone based on preconceived notions and more. Make no mistake, this is a seriously spicy omega/alpha in heat read, it just happens to have a thorough plot to go with it! I'll be looking forward to more paranormal stories by this author!
Like the name, the main character can be seen as at the will of these Alpha men who claim her as theirs. This adds to the tension as she the prey, sexually but also in the world the book is set in. Shifters of any kind, the main character is a shifter lamb hence her being considered prey.
My draw The main character: a woman seen as submissive to her mate but dominant by the world (or reader). Did deliver ✅
This is one of my favorite kind of romance because throughout the story I’m hoping she can endure. Her strength and morality is challenged by the dominant sexuality. Truly is a good definition for this sub-genre, Prey. A character seen as sexual prey. Ooooooffffff
Again though, this is the perception of another. As the reader, we see who she/he/they is. Outside of those bedroom eyes. The sexual dynamic between a dominant and submissive, predator and prey.
You find yourself rooting for the main character. Its one of my favorite catalysts. The main character found love only to be overly sexualized and underestimated. With lots and lots of sexiness in between. Could it be love? I always hope so 😛
“Dragons were simple, hedonistic creatures at heart. They liked to own everything. No one was more possessive than an alpha dragon.”
“Ohh, not enough for you? You want to watch some more?” His right hand flattened against his muscular chest and slid down, down, down his light dusting of a happy trail, down to wrap around his shaft. He gave it a firm stroke. “Need to see the grand finale?”
Leaves me with one last question, where is my group of men to come save me from my heat?? Where do you get those; walmart?
The kink as I gathered: Group sex, dom and sub, cnc, heavy breeder yumminess, multiple love interests, bondage, sexual sadism, edging, enemy to lover, captive
Last thing, I actually went back to find the part where one of them *FINALLY* sticks it to her just to see how long it took. The edging was on point 😝 overall, well worth the read.

This is the authors first novel and it had a lot of potential. I think she needed to limit the amount of mates if she wasn't going to give them equal attention. Two of them acted just as spectators more than anything else- they didn't even have any on screen romance. The book was also nothing but smut so in that respect it was trash. But exactly the kind of trash I wanted to read so it was in good in that respect. I unfortunately saw a lot of similarities between this story line and the movie zootopia which ruined it a bit for me. Including the whole predator/Prey distinction and even that the last bad guy would inject the Prey with a serum that would keep them in their animal form. Which is exactly what happened in zootopia to the predators. This book had a very amateur writing style with a lot of repeated statements in the beginning including how the MM's were predators and the MF was Prey and as such yada yada yada... it came up every few sentences in the first half of the book and I honestly didn't think it was gonna move past it. The author really never stopped mentioning it... but the second half definitely got better. All in all I would read another book by this author.

This story is one that is full of steam but also a storyline of a meek woman finding her way through this world while being tossed into a battle between good vs. bad. Luna is a prey shifter that is always being hunted by her past and stronger predators that enjoy the chase, but one night changes everything for her. After being taken by predators she realizes just how much danger she is in and needs to escape, but what she wasn’t expecting was to find her mate, well mates. She fights and refuses to give in but sometimes that isn’t enough when it comes to her needs. Luna finds an inner strength throughout all her time with the guys and those that hunt her, but will she stay to be with those that claim her or will she always stay on the run? This paranormal story is full of steam that will melt the pages with twists and suspense to keep you on the edge wondering what will happen and what will Luna choose to do.
4.5 stars, rounded down because the whole thing was a bit rushed and a lot of plot was brushed aside for smut (It's porn without plot tbh) though I felt it could have gone so much MORE. The concept could have been a whole series, if the author had wanted! Good as a standalone though.
I'll always be a little uncomfortable with the power dynamic in world like this, but the sex scenes were REALLY hot. It's not strongly omegaverse (I mean, it is, but it's not really brought up outside of the FMC worrying about her reaction to the guys and the world perception of you seems more related to the species you are than anything else.) There's not much plot or worldbuilding to distract you from the character interactions, and I did NOT like the part where —but overall this was a very fun and entertaining smutty book.
Whew, this book was spicy! Perhaps it’s just me but some of the plot, characters, and dialogue style reminds me of Lothaire and The Master by Kresley Cole. It’s why I devoured this book.
One star takeaway is because Sly, Nikolai, and Kobe did not get much quality screen time in the book. They were lucky enough to touch an ankle during sexy times. What happened to Conor? Why include his POVs when he isn’t part of the harem? I don’t think his POV really added any value just confusion.
The other star takeaway is I thought it felt rushed towards the end. I wanted to read more about the dynamic and development of the rh all coming together (pun intended). Overall, it was still a funny, captivating, entertaining, and spicy read. Wished it included more character and relationship development and less filler.
I really enjoyed the concept of light side vs dark side and that each kingdom had predators vs prey. It just depends on whether they were pulled towards the sun or moon.
The plot was interesting and I was hooked throughout the book. But I grew really tired of all the sex scenes. They are constant from beginning to end. Basically they were just a bunch of horny man children constantly fighting over the MFC and the fmc spent so much time wet and begging for sexual relief that it took away from the plot. It was mostly smutt with wild dramatic problems that got solved quickly only for the next problem to happen.
I wish the romance and relationship building was more. She used sex and the mate bond to create angst but without all the humping, blood feedings, and heats there was no chemistry except for Kobe, Bas, and Dax.
I couldn’t even finish this book. I made it half-way through because it was an interesting take on Paranormal reverse harem, but the consent was just not there like at all. The “consent” was justified as her “prey pheromones” but Ive read darker romance novels with non-con with more consent by the FMC. Her being turned into a vampire without her consent was just the last straw for me. The justification they had for turning her into a vampire was just not it. Also, the storytelling a little confusing to me. The amount of characters that were present made it mildly confusing to follow, maybe it was just me. I really wanted to like this book, but it was just too much even for my dark romance loving self. Also, there were no exact trigger warnings at the beginning and there definitely some things that happened that can triggering for some readers.

So personally The book was alright. Like there’s not much else to say. The plot and idea for the book was VERY clever and it could’ve made an AMAZING enemies to lovers RH. But I feel like the writer focused too much on the smut and the story was just moving too slow. The fmc is funny asf though, The dark vs light plot was very interesting So I haven’t finished it so i can’t speak but (SPOILERS BELOW)
Basically Idk if the dragon and basialk ever like each other? and if they do i think they should’ve at least met again or had a face to face before 50% mark. It would’ve set up them being friends nicely (if they do)
All the ingredients were there but it still fell flat. The FMC was the standard 22-year-old (seriously, why are shifter/omega FMCs ALWAYS 22????? Is it like the cut-off to not be YA? Someone help me understand), small blond girl. Nothing wrong with this, but when it's an identical prototype to 8000 other similiar books, there should be something to set her apart and there really wasn't. She felt more like a stand-in character to show off the MMCs. The relationship balance was way off so as well. You just didn't get to see much chemistry. It's not bad, it just feels like shifter romance madlibs
The premise seemed interesting and this different breed of shifter appeared to be rather different, so I expected a rather alluring story. Whenever there is a prophecy entangled within the plot, I cannot help being drawn to the mystery that it may entail. Unfortunately, this one did not work for me. The FMC was dragged into sort of captivity by the MMCs , but despite the fated mates trope, for me there were no genuine connections being build. However, the writing is quite decent and there is natural flow from one chapter to another.I think that in this particular case , it is a me thing rather than anything else.
Oh Luna! She has so many things going against her, and just when you think that her problems are sorted out and fixed - along comes another one to drag her down again. Between all the predator men that are vying for her attention, what chance does a lowly little prey have? I loved the amount of twists and turns that round out this story as Luna is just trying to survive, but she manages to end a long feud and defeat a long standing hatred just by being herself. I loved this quite different story, and can't wait to read more by this author.
I enjoyed that this book had an actual plot instead of just being typical omegaverse spice, but I didn’t really like the MMCs. It felt like only half of them had personalities and the other half were forgotten about. Why did Kobe only speak in grunts? Nikolai was basically a background character and Daxton and Bastille had half baked tension that we never actually saw come to a head. I feel like Luna had to carry the weight of the team on her back and in turn her character became repetitive and tired. She was a good character, I just wish she had a little help.
DNF at 75%. This was what I expected really- a Wattpad level romance with high heat and little else. It needed editing and the characters needed work, but I didn't come for glorious descriptions and carefully crafted fantasy worlds. I thought it would be smut with maybe a little plot, and it didn't disappoint. The steam was great, and I liked the intensity between which 'side' the FMC was choosing, but it was a book for the darkness of the bedroom and not much else- certainly not a casual train ride or dinner with extended family. It was good, but nothing deep or thought provoking. 5/10.
Tbh the romance suited the length of the book. Most RH do this same thing (or very similar) where they cram the men all into a book and then I’m left scratching my head, hoping for a plot or a surprise addition later on. This finished within one book. That meant I wasn’t expecting a huge character development, or world building, or any of those things.
It's an OK book. Though I had a few issues with it. Firstly, I felt as though 2 of the harem were more like an afterthought than actual members. They didn't get any scenes with the fmc except maybe 1 or 2 and they weren't steamy. Secondly I get writers want to convey caveman like tendencies in their alphas but for me personally I can not stand when they convey this by dropping the "I" from the sentence. Anyways it's OK but is it worth 3.99? Nope not really imo😔.
I love a good reverse harem romance. This one had the making to be a great reverse harem. However, the author struggled to make it feel like a true poly relationship. Most of the book felt like two mates and oh by the way there’s now three mates. The author needs a way to tie them together. That being said, the steam is 🔥🔥🔥🔥 and the premise behind the book is great too. I look forward to future books from this writer.
Really awesome book if this is your typical genre, better than alot of other reverse Harem novels I've read and totally nailed the paranormal side of it. Really good character development for the male leads and the female lead. Only bad part, wish the ending was slightly different and we got to see how the kingdom reacted to their queen but other than that totally loved it.

Why did you pick this book up? Was it to learn something about complex characters with deeply written backstories and the intricate political structure of a fantasy world? No, you picked it up for you-know-what. Delivers! Spicy scenes, all the feels. A quick read but gets you there, multiple times if you know what I mean.
While some of the writing was a bit repetitive, I did enjoy this. The plot was a unique take on the shifter trope and the spice was SPICY. Even though there was a lot of heat in these it still didn't feel like all heat and no plot, which I appreciated!
What a refreshingly good book! It does touch on the dark side so beware of that if you've got triggers. Never read a lamb shifter book. Loved and I do mean loved how fiesty she was with the alphas! Would love to read more of them!
I ate this book up so freaking fast and loved every second of it. It is very explicit and vulgar and I am all here for it. I need more like this if anyone has any suggestions! My favorite was Bastille, but Sly was a close second 🥵🔥🌶️
