Little spider Twigs has a lot of friends and all his friends are Spiders. They like to play together as all kids do. People created a lot of tales about Spiders. They think that Spiders are scary and angry. Kids will learn that in fact spiders are very beneficial for people, because they fight mosquitoes and pests.
This book is written to teach children to be responsible towards animals. If children learn to love and respect animals, they will become reliable and responsible adults.
A book about the different kinds of spiders and what the do for humans. I liked how there was a story to follow as I learned about the different types of spiders. I learned a lot about them. I never knew there were so many different types. Each has their own look as well as their own living conditions. I always thought they all spun webs like you see in corners of rooms but they don't. I liked that photographs were shown. This is perfect for your 4-8 year old as well as adults.
I liked the book. It teaches you a lot about why spiders are important and how they help humans. It’s cute story for kids and easy to read. Great book and I would recommend to all parents.

Alice Cussler really opened my eyes to look at spiders a little differently now with new information from her book: All My Friends Are Spiders.
I am afraid of most creepy crawlers and spiders are on top of the list. Now after reading how Twig and his family valued their peace in the cottage with out the humans that lived there, laughing at myself. This book was a great learning tool to educated children on the spiders. I thought many times during reading this book, that the spiders were acting like humans. I enjoyed this book! I didn't enjoy facing my fears of spiders! Great job, Alice Cussler and thanks for helping me with my fear and learning about spiders.
Hugo is introduced as a starfish with big eyes and a big heart. His problem was that he felt sad. Hoping to get rid of this feeling, Hugo goes to visit the wise Manta who advises Hugo to search for it right here. When Hugo is unsuccessful, Manta gives him a few other suggestions like fishing, spending time with friends or searching for a treasure so he can buy anything he wants. After a period of time elapses, Hugo still feels dissatisfied so Manta finally reveals the secret of being happy forever--to share with others!
The lessons of empathy and sharing are invaluable ones, but I question the way the author depicts the ending. The illustrations are bright, colorful and appealing for young readers, but I feel the final product is a big confusing for young readers. This book can be the basis of productive discussion between parents or teachers with children.
To educate little kids about spiders is actually a great idea. Spiders in fact are really beneficial creatures, but most of us are trying to kill them at the first sight. I'm really afraid of spiders myself, so I was a kind of skeptical about this book. I became curious because of the lovely cover. I read it to my 6 years old son and he loved it. I hope he will not be afraid of spiders in future.
An adorable book about the spiders living in a cottage play when the people are away --- good introduction to spiders with lovely pictures --- good learning experience teaching the readers how spiders help people and we shouldn't be afraid of them! I thoroughly enjoyed this story and it made me glad that every spider I find in my house I name and leave them alone. I figure if they're there then there must be bugs somewhere that they're eating! Good learning experience!
