'El animal' ('The animal') is a book of fiery, love poetry, written with m passion and from within the heart. It tells the story of the 'pantera' (panther) that has conquered the poet, Carlos Salem. 


He navigates the topics of attraction, love, sex, self-knowledge and expectation from a raw, visceral, corporal sensitivity, giving the poems the density of songs, of tales, of stories. 


I enjoyed it but as I am not used to reading poetry, found a little challenging getting used to the tempo these verses offer. It's being, though, an interesting journey.

No sabía si darle 3 ó 4 estrellas. Hay poemas que me han encantado, que me han hecho emocionarme, y otros que me han resultado indiferentes o incluso malos. Pero también creo que esto pasa con muchos poemarios, que es difícil mantener un nivel en todos los poemas, que no todos significan lo mismo para el autor ni para los lectores.
