Gosho Aoyama (青山剛昌) is a Japanese manga artist. He is best known as the creator of the manga series Detective Conan (known in the United States, Canada, and the United Kingdom as Case Closed).
Aoyama made his debut as a manga artist with the work Chotto Matte which was published in the weekly magazine Shōnen Sunday on winter of 1987. Shortly after that, another work by Aoyama, Magic Kaito, was published on the same magazine.
This volume has a lot of interesting cases, though some of the resolutions feel a bit lackluster in execution. Still, I enjoyed it overall. I find myself wanting to know more about Subaru with every chapter.
This volume kicks off with the conclusion of the main story involving tennis...and love! A very good way to kick off this book (even if you need to have read the last volume recently to fully enjoy it). The next case involves the Junior Detectives and someone in need of rescuing...oh yeah and an earthquake! Yes, a lot is happening in this story, but it makes the adventure that much more entertaining. The next story has Detective Richard Moore returning to his alma mater in which he brought the crew. What starts off innocent enough has the team stumbling on a dead body! Is it suicide or something more sinister!?! The next story involves the Junior Detectives again and this time they are out solving a crime without Detective Conan by their side and with...very limited assistance...a deck of cards!!! The final story is a cliffhanger and you won't find the conclusion in this volume...so stay tuned for volume 73 of the long running series!
Wrapping up the London adventure. Then the detective league play kick-the-can in an abandoned building only to stumble upon a possible kidnapping. Then Ran and Conan are invited to go into a student-made haunted hospital display only to stumble upon an actual dead body! Very creepy story. In the next story, Conan is home sick, but over the phone he hears a kid from Aya's apartment building for help from the Detective League getting away from the imposters posing as his parents. Although it seems like the kid is lying, Conan tells them to call the police, and then hangs up to get rest. Haibara and the rest of the league try to investigate to find out why Conan was sure the kid was telling the truth. In the last cliffhanger, a woman hires Mori to investigate threatening letters she's been getting and to be her body guard. Predictably, he fails spectacularly and she is murdered. Nice job.
This is one of my favourite parts. I love the case they solve in London and the character development between Ran and Conan/Shinichi. It´s one of my favourites in the Anime as well so I already saw it a few times and I enjoy it again and again.
NOL adalah awal dari segala sesuatu!!! dan ada, OHEMMMM SETELAH SEUMUR HIDUPKU MENANTI, pernyataan cinta dramatis dari shinichi ke Ran ... can i just DIE now?

General Synopsis: As mentioned above, I am going to write a proper review for this soon, but I have a few books ahead of this one in the queue, so I cannot stop reading DC NOW! That's sacrilege. I have decided to read all the chapters available up to now (we are almost to 1000!) As you can see, I am totally fangirling over here and I don't care, because this is one of my favorite manga series, ever! But all of this aside, there are a few things I wanted to list so I don't need to go back and look everything up when I do finally sit down and write my fangirl review. ✌🏻
DO NOT click on the spoiler link if you don't want to read all the cases in this volume, because it will ruin it for you. On the other hand, if you're a fan like me or are looking for a certain case (and please note, these are how I have set the cases), etc. click away, that's why it's there.
Another spoiler link, so don't click if you don't want to ruin this manga. I am going to include the characters introduced or as the series continues are in this volume. Personally, I think us DC fans love certain characters more than other (yes, Heiji, I mean you!), so sometimes when we are re-reading this series (like all the time!) you might wish to start at a specific case or start when a certain character is involved.
Characters in this volume:
Personal Opinion: #1, I never call this CASE CLOSED. If you do, you're not a true fan of this series, so don't even bother reading my review or my personal opinions. I'm sorry if I offend you, but you offended me first by telling me you want to read CASE CLOSED or you just love Jimmy.
#2, as you can tell by #1, I read this online. I would never waste my money buying a manga series in english that cannot get the name correct and mess up the main characters to make it appear more "ENGLISH." I am so happy I don't run a blog and this isn't a review on Sailor Moon, #1, because I have a huge soap box tirade against DiC. I also don't think there is anything against reading something online. Comics, which is what manga are, are meant to be read and shared and sometimes paying over $10 is too much in my opinion. Plus, I read the newest chapters as soon as they are released from Japan, because I would never miss a release of DC. So this is my personal shout out to you translators from me, Thank You!
HIDDEN DANGER IN THE ABANDONED BUILDING The Detective Boys' game of hide and seek in an abandoned building takes a chilling turn when Genta hears a strange knocking that Conan decodes as an emergency signal—code 252, a plea for rescue. Suspicion grows when they encounter two supposed demolition workers, but Conan’s sharp eye catches discrepancies—a set of consumed bento boxes and a slip-up about the demolition schedule. Realizing the men are impostors holding someone hostage, Conan and Haibara’s attempt to uncover the truth is cut short when they’re captured, putting them all in grave danger.
POISON IN THE HAUNTED HOUSE A visit to Kogoro’s alma mater turns sinister when Conan, Ran, and Sonoko explore a haunted house with two students playing eerie pranks. The tension spikes when a student on the operating table—part of the scare—is found convulsing and unresponsive. Conan quickly realizes the horror is all too real: she’s been poisoned with cyanide. As fear grips the group, Conan races against time to uncover the culprit behind this deadly act hidden beneath the guise of a harmless prank.
THE MYSTERY OF THE STRANGE BOY While Conan battles a fever at home, Mitsuhiko video calls to check in—but the call is interrupted by a strange boy at Ayumi’s door, begging for help. His "parents" soon arrive, claiming it was a harmless prank, but Conan senses danger. Despite Conan’s weakened state, he urges the Detective Boys to investigate. Haibara leads them to the boy’s apartment under the pretense of wanting to play with him. As the Karuta game unfolds, the tense atmosphere builds, and unease deepens when Genta’s attempt to use the restroom is suspiciously redirected—hinting that a sinister secret is lurking behind the apartment’s closed doors.
This one is my favee! Gak tau kenapa di seri akhir-akhir ini (dari sekitar 60-an apa ya) Bang Aoyama nyisipin cerita cinta (Takagi & Sato, Bu Jodie & Akai *ooh miss you, Akai~~*, Shiratori & Kobayashi, Chiba & teman SD-nya) Nah, balik lagi ke Conan 72, yang saya sukaa tentunya pas Ran & Sinichi bertengkar di Big Ben , Inggris (jauh-jauh amat yak buat berantem) But i love the way Sinichi said to Ran (ee dasar cewek kemakan juga sama omongan :D) yak, berikut dialog Ran-Sinichi:
Begitulah.... saya pun terbawa romansa mereka berdua :D
Kadang gue iseng-iseng baca ulang sambil ngisi waktu senggang.
Yah, gk mungkin dari volume pertama sih hehe but I'm perfectly love it
Ran & Shinichi : *BLUSH*
OMG OMG OMG OMG OMG.......
- Shinichi to Ran - Aoyama Gosho
Yang lucu nya ituu... Muka Shinichi waktu mau balik pulang ke rumah XD
Caapeeee deeeechhhh...heheheeee
