Gosho Aoyama (青山剛昌) is a Japanese manga artist. He is best known as the creator of the manga series Detective Conan (known in the United States, Canada, and the United Kingdom as Case Closed).
Aoyama made his debut as a manga artist with the work Chotto Matte which was published in the weekly magazine Shōnen Sunday on winter of 1987. Shortly after that, another work by Aoyama, Magic Kaito, was published on the same magazine.
I really enjoyed the last case, but I still find it a bit ridiculous that no one seems to notice how different Conan is or that he’s the one actually solving the cases! It's such an obvious giveaway by now, but I guess that’s part of the charm.
I’m also super intrigued by Sera and her mysterious connection to the FBI agents. There’s something about her that feels familiar, and I can’t help but wonder— is she really who she seems to be?
Conclusion of the gunman story; after they capture him without him getting killed (or anyone else), Sinichi over the phone solves the crime and identifies the culprit. Next, Dr Agasa is knocked out and Ayumi is taken hostage in an elaborate ruse to steel something, and Conan and Haibara and the rest of the Detective Boys must solve the case. Heiji and Kuzuha show up with a problem, but they get drawn into a murder investigation where Sere is trying to see who is the better detective, Heiji or Sinichi (through Coman). It seems like she knows more than she should about Sinichi and Conan! Next, Heiji asks for help solving a case involving the poisoning of a president of a company who dies years ago, only to be lead in to the president's son being murdered!
General Synopsis: As mentioned above, I am going to write a proper review for this soon, but I have a few books ahead of this one in the queue, so I cannot stop reading DC NOW! That's sacrilege. I have decided to read all the chapters available up to now (we are almost to 1000!) As you can see, I am totally fangirling over here and I don't care, because this is one of my favorite manga series, ever! But all of this aside, there are a few things I wanted to list so I don't need to go back and look everything up when I do finally sit down and write my fangirl review. ✌🏻
DO NOT click on the spoiler link if you don't want to read all the cases in this volume, because it will ruin it for you. On the other hand, if you're a fan like me or are looking for a certain case (and please note, these are how I have set the cases), etc. click away, that's why it's there.
Another spoiler link, so don't click if you don't want to ruin this manga. I am going to include the characters introduced or as the series continues are in this volume. Personally, I think us DC fans love certain characters more than other (yes, Heiji, I mean you!), so sometimes when we are re-reading this series (like all the time!) you might wish to start at a specific case or start when a certain character is involved.
Characters in this volume:
Personal Opinion: #1, I never call this CASE CLOSED. If you do, you're not a true fan of this series, so don't even bother reading my review or my personal opinions. I'm sorry if I offend you, but you offended me first by telling me you want to read CASE CLOSED or you just love Jimmy.
#2, as you can tell by #1, I read this online. I would never waste my money buying a manga series in english that cannot get the name correct and mess up the main characters to make it appear more "ENGLISH." I am so happy I don't run a blog and this isn't a review on Sailor Moon, #1, because I have a huge soap box tirade against DiC. I also don't think there is anything against reading something online. Comics, which is what manga are, are meant to be read and shared and sometimes paying over $10 is too much in my opinion. Plus, I read the newest chapters as soon as they are released from Japan, because I would never miss a release of DC. So this is my personal shout out to you translators from me, Thank You!
THE MYSTERIOUS KIDNAPPING AT PROFESSOR AGASA’S HOUSE Professor Agasa’s discovery of an old vase draws the attention of suspicious individuals. After an accident with a soccer ball ruins their dinner, Ai takes the Detective Boys to buy new ingredients. Upon returning, they find Agasa unconscious and Ayumi missing, kidnapped along with the antique rug. A cryptic message about a cat leads them to Ayumi's location, but the real mystery lies in uncovering the kidnappers' true motive.
THE POISONED CONFESSION AT THE RESTAURANT During a visit to Tokyo, Heiji and Kazuha become embroiled in a poisoning case at a restaurant. The victim’s dying words point to a Kansai connection, and Heiji realizes the culprit is among three suspects still in the restaurant. Conan devises a clever plan involving salty soup to expose the murderer, revealing a link to a recent unsolved murder in Saitama.
THE POISONOUS PUZZLE AND THE WIDOW’S SECRET Heiji receives a letter from a man murdered a month earlier, challenging him to solve the case. While investigating the deceased’s villa, Kazuha discovers the word "EYE" scratched into the wall. A dinner at the widow's house turns deadly when the deceased’s son is poisoned. A dying clue points to the letter "S," implicating all five suspects. Heiji and Conan confront the widow, only to find her dead from cyanide poisoning, deepening the mystery.
This volume concludes the cliffhanger story that took place within the detective agency with a suicide bomber who wants revenge! Good story from volume 73 and ends just as interesting within this volume. The next story is definitely a story of misdirection and deception. The Junior Detectives along with Amy are wrapped up in a mystery that definitely keeps you guessing. The next case takes place with a suicide (or is it?) inside a Danny's Family Restaurant (Denny's won't be able to sue with this slight change...ha ha ha). This becomes an unofficial contest of who is the greatest teen detective. Next, we have someone bold enough to commit a murder in front of a slew of detectives!!! This case has more twists then usual and does not end in this volume so if you want the conclusion you will need to get a copy of volume 75 of Case Closed!
Selalu suka semua seri komik Det. Conan.
I know it's irrelevant, but it's pretty much disturbing, hehe.
It was amazing ^_^
I like it when Heiji shows up and him and Conan/Shinichi start a competetion. This is the case. One thing I love about this manga in general are the clues based in words- I don´t speak japanese but I like how complex this language is and how it´s used. This case in the manga focuses on the different dialects- I´ve been to Tokio and Osaka and it always makes me laugh how different these cities are :)
This entire review has been hidden because of spoilers.
