Julie presents a temptation that Luken can’t resist so even though she’s human he offers his protection along with his bite when her past catches up to her in this captivating erotic paranormal romance.
This fast paced and smooth flowing plot captivates readers with lots of passion, suspense and excitement. Julie has been dreaming of Luken for months and Luken can’t get Julie out of his head but they both have secrets that have kept them apart and the reader can’t help but get caught up in their romance as their attraction refuses to be denied with lots of red hot sex scenes. The relationship has a few difficulties that stem from their secrets which adds lots of depth to the story and ensures that the reader wants to know everything about these strong compelling characters.
Spine tingling anticipation builds as their secrets are revealed and danger finds Julie and Luken and endangering the pack. The well written scenes and details capture the imagination and bring the story to life while the while orchestrated, believable suspense and action draws readers deeper into the story. There are also some side conflicts going on with another pack to spice the story up even more and to ensure that the reader can’t put the book down.
I was completely caught up in this story from the very beginning and I have really enjoyed this series so far. I just want to say that I have read the series out of order, it is still great obviously but I actually recommend that you read it in sequence to get the full impact of the events as they happen.

Julie is just trying to get and after a disastrous marriage when she meets a gorgeous man, Luken. After giving him her number she is surprised when he never contacts her and writes him off as uninterested. Little does she know that Luken is a werewolf and has put off calling her because human and werewolf relationships rarely work out. But as time passes they are pulled together and can’t fight the attraction that grows between them. And when outside forces cause Julie to rely on Luken for protection, things just keep getting hotter.
Luken and Julie are so hot together! The sexual tension and attraction between them is combustible. But this isn’t just about sex with them. Julie and Luken are drawn to each other out of more than just desire. They have genuine love and respect for each other. I loved them as a couple. When Julie needs support Luken is the first one there, willing to help her in any way. He doesn’t smother her but lets her know he will be there for her if she needs it.
I am a huge fan of shape shifter books and I enjoy seeing all the different worlds that are created by authors and this one was just as entertaining. Cavanaugh did a good job of sharing her world of shifters without making the reader feel as if we were reading a text or leaving things out to confuse us. I liked how we learned a lot of things throughout the book like Julie does. It made it more interesting to learn with her instead of just being overloaded with facts from the beginning.
My main complaint with the story is the almost cliffhanger. We get a full story about Luken and Julie but the packs are left in turmoil and many things will change in the future. There were so many characters that wee mentioned that I am hoping will get a story as we see how their world will change but I wish we weren’t left so up in the air as to the fates of certain characters and the packs in general. I feel like there are so many story lines open after this book and I can’t wait to see what Cavanaugh has planned.

I was given a gift copy of this book in exchange for an honest review. Julie fled from a life that was filled with horrors and death to make her own way. She is finally settling into her new life and is somewhat content. The one thing she can’t seem to shake is this man she met a while ago. Luken is the epitome of tall dark and handsome. He is as drawn to Julie as she is to home but things are complicated. They both have secrets in their lives that could easily tear them apart. Instead they choose to trust each other and face these troubling times together. Many things happen that are life changing to both of them. This is a great read can’t really go into much detail without giving away all the epic parts of the story let me just say that if you love alpha males, not so submissive women and hot and steamy sex then this is the book for you! Virginia Cavanaugh is amazing

There were some amazing ideas included in this new paranormal romance. When it came to sexy Luken, I was impressed by his heart and bravery. He ruled and led his pack with a sweet sense of conscience that made me root for him all the way. Julie on the other hand, felt lacking at times, to such a point that I became irritable with her weakness. Once I surpassed the middle of the novel, she grew on me and I didn't feel quite so displeased with the romance.
They sizzled, and the sex became very hot at times, but it fell flat of my personal likes at times by using words I personally do not find attractive. Excluding that, I found them a mix of sensual and steamy that kept me reading late into the night. I would gladly pick up another novel by this author to read more about her wolf packs.

This was my second read by this fantabolous author and it get better and better. Julie was trying to rebuild her life after a disastrous marriage and meets the enigmatic Luken who has his own secrets to contend with while trying to build his pack. However the chemistry is too combustible for them to ignore and eventually they succumb to it and each other. This is a guaranteed read if you like hot alpha werewolf and strong heroine with lots of hot sex and plenty of action. Kudos to you Virginia for a well written story that keeps you entertained to the end and wondering what's next for Luken's pack.

Wow..this book was incredible! My temperature has risen up to molten lava.. Luken is an alpha werewolf who is recently in charge of his own pack. Julie,a human, has escaped from a violent ex- husband. When these two meet,sparks fly..Both of them try to keep their lives separate from one another..But passion wins and soon they are inseparable.With an enemy not far behind, Luken and Julie's love skyrockets..

It has been a while since I’ve read a shifter book, and this was just the right one to help me jump back into the genre. It had a hunky, delicious hero, a spunky heroine and even though it was short, it had enough action and romance to keep me interested.
