The Long Anticipated release is finally here in an exciting new installment of Kingdom!
Rumors abound in Wonderland, of a dark princess named Chrysalis who bears the Moon's curse. Her beauty is beyond compare, and her madness… even greater than her father’s, The Hatter. Death follows wherever she roams, and Danika—fairy godmother of all villains—knows this task is too great for her to handle on her own. She has no choice but to seek out the one they call Huntsman, his mission is simple: Find the creature, and destroy it.
But nothing is ever so simple in Kingdom. The moment the hunter Aeric steps foot in the mad, twisted realm he's enveloped in a reality that is neither wholly true nor fantasy. The key, the Cheshire explains, to ending the madness is for one to become mad themselves. The Huntsman has one chance to figure out the riddle before the beauty destroys them all…
Marie Hall is a USA Today Bestselling author and has always held a dangerous fascination for creatures that go bump in the night. And mermaids. And of course fairies. Trolls. Unicorns. Shapeshifters. Vampires. Scottish brogues. Kilts. Beefy arms. Ummm... Bad boys! Especially the sexy ones.
Then the day came she realized apart from the sexy bad boy she married, there'd be no vampires/shapeshifters/mermaids/fairies/or even stinky trolls in her future unless she wrote about them. More often than not she can be found roaming the wild, lush tropical forest she calls her backyard (a.k.a. Hawaii) and day dreaming constantly about her latest project.
Her Mad Hatter is the first book of her Kingdom Series.
She loves to hear from her readers and can be reached at mariehallwrites@gmail.com!

Huntsman's Prey (Kingdom Series: Book 7) By Marie Hall is just as amazing as the other 6 in the Kingdom series.
Marie hasn't disappointed at all. The Huntsman is as yummy as the other bad boys. Complex, alluring & a bit of an annoyance with his stubbornness (in a good way). His charge is to capture Chrysalis the daughter of the Mad hatter & Alice who was cursed by the moon & currently causing havoc in Wonderland.
The story is very in depth, you can picture where you are & the characters with ease thanks to Marie's writing. This, like the others in the series is a definite page turner that once you pick up, you cannot put down. I love the twist at the end & I'm SOOOOOOOOO looking forward to Book 8!!!
Please don't ever stop writing about Kingdom as I may cry.
I got this book from the author, free of cost, in exchange of an honest review from my side.
Firstly I would like to thank the author for giving me this opportunity of reading and reviewing this book and I would also like to thank Carrie [Moderator of Lovers of Paranormal Group of Goodreads] for giving me this book under their Read to Review Theme.
Okay, so I'm a Marie Hall fan so I grabbed this book instantly and I'm so happy to say that I completely loved this book just like the others. I would definitely recommend this book to everyone because it's awesome-sauce!!!
Coming to the characters, well I don't think I have to say anything about it because all the readers out there who have read Marie's books know that the characters in her books have their own soul and life. They just seems to be a part of our own world rather than a fictional character belonging to a fantastical world. Any with this book there wasn't anything different. I bonded with the characters and I loved their slow and steady progress and development.
The plot was awesome and there wasn't any minor defect or fault in it, well I didn't find any whatsoever. The story line is also great and intriguing. What I most liked is the presentation, I mean the series in which the major events unfolded was so perfect and well thought that nothing seemed to be out of place but the suspense was intense as well so even if one thing led to another you wouldn't be able to guess the next move of the author before you read it.
A compelling read that kept me hooked in and the passion and action [deadly and sexy combo] was in immense quantity so the readers out there shouldn't have any complaint with this book. I loved the writing style of the author very much and seriously speaking I just admire her work, I mean the words she chose to describe each scene is brilliant and heart touching. So go for it guys and enjoy!!!
*SPOILERS!!* * * * * * * * * At first I thought the split personalities thing would bother me because I felt like Chrysalis would be second to Lyssa, but then I thought, 'Well, this IS Wonderland and different rules apply there and they are the SAME person technically.' I enjoyed revisiting Hatter and Alice and look forward to Rumple's story.

I think everyone knows how much I enjoy classic fairy tales and the twists that modern authors give to them in their retellings. But there is just something special about the world that Marie Hall has created in her Kingdom series. It’s so rich and well imagined, combining the worlds we’ve all grown up with and putting twists and turns that I, for one, never even dreamed of. I’ve been hooked since the very beginning with HER MAD HATTER…what can I say? Of all the fairy tale realms, Wonderland (and a pretty sexy Hatter) just draws me in…in all it’s manifestations.
Ah, but HUNTSMAN’S PREY goes beyond the story of Hatter and Alice. Have you ever wondered what might happen if they had a child? A girl? A girl who would inherit her father’s madness and turn it…and Wonderland…into something never seen before? That’s what we get with HUNTSMAN’S PREY. For poor, poor Chrysalis was moon-cursed at birth and now that she’s reached her eighteenth birthday it’s about to get very dark in Wonderland…very dark indeed. Aeric, the Red Queen’s own Huntsman, is called upon to stop Chrysa…but maybe…maybe…he can save her.
The majority of the Kingdom series are novella length and I have to commend the author on packing so much world/plot development into the shorter length. They’ve always felt like the perfect little bite when I read one. But HUNTSMAN’S PREY is longer…regular novel length. Hall makes the most of the additional pages by really expanding the world of Kingdom and creating a fast-paced plot that keeps you turning those pages. The characters are well imagined, written, and are very intriguing. Hall throws in a pretty big twist when it comes to Chrysalis too. One that kept me guessing right up to the big reveal and I have to admit, while I got parts of it right, I didn’t get it all but I did enjoy how Hall treats it and Aeric’s reaction.
While HUNTSMAN’S PREY is part of a series, you can read it as a stand alone. However, I would definitely recommend that you read the series before you start. Like I said, they’re novella length and are pretty quick reads…come on you know you want to! Well, if nothing else definitely read HER MAD HATTER (#1), DANIKA’S SURPRISE (#5.5), and MOON’S FLOWER (#6) before picking this one up. They all have history that lead up to Chrysalis’s story and it will make HUNTSMAN’S PREY that much richer for you. Enjoy!

I love this series and this latest installment hasn't let me down. I thoroughly enjoyed how Marie Hall took beloved children's fairy tales and added the adult twist to each story, and then to continue the story lines with the introduction of the Mad Hatter's daughter is the icing on the cake (no pun intended lol). Please, don't start with this book if you haven't read the first six in the series; if you don't want to go back that far (although you will enjoy the journey that much more if you do), you at least need to read Danika's Surprise (#6) before reading this one so it will make more sense.
While this book is longer than the previous stories, Marie Hall does an incredible job of world-building, and while I thought it was impressive when she described Hatter's part of Kingdom, she certainly raised the bar in this book. Chrysa is a wonderful character, curse and all. Aeric took some time for me to like him, but learning his earlier history I could understand why he is the way he is. Rumpel is great, and I can't wait to read his story! I would definitely recommend this entire series!
This would have been a 5-star read for me if the ending hadn't left me feeling incredibly unsatisfied. I plowed through this one in no time. It was another "darker" tale, as with Red & Her Wolf (similar curse at play, so that's understandable) and for a while I was REALLY enjoying it. Honestly, I was so excited to reach the end!!! But, it just didn't jive with me...
Huntsman’s Prey ( Kingdom Series # 7) by Marie Hall I received this book in exchange for an honest review by the Author and the “Lovers of Paranormal” Group on Goodreads.com I absolutely love Marie Hall’s books, and the Kingdom Series are my all time favourite, so I was very excited when this book came out. This is a brilliant book that I loved, so much so that I have already re-read it. Huntsman’s Prey is the 7th book in the series and follows the story of Chrysalis (The Mad Hatters’ daughter ) and the Huntsman Aeric. This book is well crafted and is set in the crazy world of the Hatter. The plot is excellent, and very well thought out. The style of writing is rich and descriptive and flows well, making the book an easy read. The characters are well described and true to life. This book is a real page turner that will have you hooked until the very end. If you love books with a Supernatural / romantic theme, then you will enjoy this one. I can’t wait for the next book in this series to come out. I will definitely be looking for more of this talented authors work.
Oh My Goodness! I loved this book! I have to say that I had my doubts about this book when I first started reading it because it was a little confusing to follow, but I quickly fell deeply in love with it. I love that we were able to go back to Hatters Mad World and the adventures through his land was amazing. But I also confess, when Chrysa/Lissa "died" I cried to hard it took me almost 15 minutes to continue reading the book I was so heart broken for Aeric. All in all I am ver very pleased with the way the story turned out. I'm really happy for Danika and Jericho as well. They deserve to be together and happy. Way to go with this book Marie Hall, I loved it!
I remember reading the previous books in this particular world and getting a bit burnt out by the time book 6 came along. Enjoying the books, yes, but events just began to feel repetitive. This installment, however, has brought a new twist that makes me extremely happy. The author has given more of the magical world that I have come to know and love. In this particular story, readers are allowed a bigger glance into the upside-down, topsy-turvy wonderland, where nothing is as it seems and the Cheshire is as cryptic as ever. Readers also get to know Hatter and Alice's daughter, and the ramifications of the curse we first glimpsed in Danika's Surprise. I absolutely loved this love story, and have gained a new excitement for this series.
I have got to say, I stumbled upon the Kingdom series recently and I am glad that I did. They are a great escape from some of the more serious mystery/thrillers that I read.
That being said, I have read the books preceding this one and I have seen some reviews that say it's confusing but I think that's the point! It's in a messed up Wonderland which is already insane and we aren't supposed to understand what's going on all the time, just like the Hunstman. I do like that it is told from his perspective. Nice change of pace from bouncing back and forth between characters.
I am sure that many reviews rehash the plot so I don't do that, plus I don't like spoilers. I will say that this is one of my favorites of the Kingdom series so far.
The only con is the end which felt a tad forced, but other than that, it was a fun ride!
With each book Marie Hall outdoes herself. This is my new favorite. I'm completely baffled as to how she continues to create couples so completely different from each other. Though each couple is so different and unique, I fall in love with each one equally if not more. Although, I think there is a special part of me that will always love Hatter and his family the most. For those of you out there that are thinking of reading this, I will warn you, this is the one book I feel you can't read until you've at least read the previous two in order, Danika's Surprise and Moon's Flower. You've been warned. I hope to hear more about this match on the future.
This story was amazing! The build up with the novella and moon's flower made it so much better, I think. I'm always sucked into these stories and can't stop reading, but this one was really great! I really and truly did not expect the way it would turn out. Also I'd like to add that I'm a huge fan of having little details through not just the story but the series as a whole come back to complete the full picture. I mean at this point the author hasn't created just characters but an entire world to get lost in. Boy I've never been so excited to get lost, over and over and over again! Now off to check out the devilish imp Rumpel's part of kingdom and his story 😍 Happy Reading 📚💜
This was not a good book....probably my least favorite so far. I don’t know why everyone loves it so much. There was zero chemistry between the characters, the “hunt” was lame and confusing and the cursed girl was elusive and I never really understood what the hell was going on.
Making goo goo eyes and doing it in the woods does not a life long love make.
Anyway, just had to throw my unwanted and unpopular opinion out there. So far in this series there have only been 3 I didn’t care for so hopefully that won’t continue as I enjoy reading them.
I enjoy a fresh take on the great fairy tales or in this case Lewis Carrolls Alice stories. The only thing stopping me from giving a better star number are spelling or word errors. I don't know if it's my Kindle version but words like isle instead of aisle for walking down a lane. Or missing words in sentences. It's rife throughout the series up to this point. Should you read it of course.
It seems I cannot get enough of this series of books. The story was beautifully told and interesting enough to keep me wondering what was going to happen next. Alice in Wonderland will never be the same.
Ok, this book really confused me at first but I finally figured it out after a while. This book is just as good as all the others in this series. It is a must read for anyone who love the Kingdom serie
Another fascinating wonderful wonderland book that made me fall in love with the huntsman and his prey. Wonderful love story that made me feel the madness of chrysalis and the love of Lissa.
I do enjoy the plot in her narratives, but there is definite need for a proof-reader. Repetitions, spelling mistakes, these take away much from the reading experience.
Never expected that she had a duel personality, the Hunter having a hard time knowing he did need help. And falling for both personalities was special and understanding.
This one was okay. I enjoyed the romance part but the madness was a bit hard to follow and I was turned off by the multiple personalities. I had a hard time thinking he could keep them separate in his head. TBH, I always had a hard time following the stories in Wonderland due to the madness there. It seems like the journey just goes in circles and nothing really gets accomplished. Which is exactly how I felt about this one.
Danica’s story concludes in this one, which was a pleasant surprise for me because I wanted that in the last book. Some of the things I didn’t like in the last book are addressed here.
The plot was straightforward, tidy and tied up all loose ends.I’m digging the extended fairy tail series. These are the second generation of fairy tales, the bad guys children. It’s pretty cool. I’m a sucker for fairy tale retellings. I’d definitely recommend for 18 and up as there is some graphic sex scenes here.
Review includes Marie Hall's character interview with the Hatter
Chrysalis pretty much stayed in the shadows with her madness well established. At one point, I even compare her to Smeagol (LOTR) when she was talking to herself at the reflection pool. However, I didn't really feel much for our heroine aside from sympathy and that throbbing fear that Aeric might not be able to save her in time. Aeric on the other hand wowed me. Since HUNTSMAN'S PREY is told in his POV, we really get to know him. Aeric's character is similar to the Huntsman archetype, on top of that, he's what you can consider a tortured hero because of an unfortunate event involving a woman from his past. That relationship brought a curse down Aeric which left him jaded and non-receptive in love. At the same time, I love the mish-mash of fairy tale MHall used to make up his character. The monkey wrench is Lissa. For the most part, I kept thinking if MHall is veering off the expected H/h HEA because of Lissa but then she pulled this surprise in the end that is simply ingenious! I'm still thinking of the resolution long-term, it's unconventional but since it's in the Kingdom world, "normal" doesn't really exists.
The world building is Wonderland-based with MHall's fanciful additions. There's no insta-love unlike in the previous novellas because the build-up is good. And as I've hinted, there's a love triangle but it was executed in such an interesting way. You actually won't see it play out until the end, leaving a LOT to the imagination. It'll make sense once you've read HUNTSMAN'S PREY. My only critic is I wish there was more to Chrysalis than her madness. I wanted to empathize with her plight but all I felt was sympathy for our heroine. The revelation also felt a little rushed for me, all the info regarding the conflict coupled with the backstory was poured in one blow my head was reeling with info, I have to reread the confrontation part slowly.
The resolution is very... interesting. I'll give it away if I saw more. So I'll just leave you with: read HUNTSMAN'S PREY if you love fairy tale retelling. It's sexy, suspenseful, mind boggling and every bit a fairy tale except that it's tailored for adults instead of a bedtime story for kids.
