All publicity is good publicity, right? Unless you’re recent college grad Ellie Wagner and an embarrassing video of you and your boyfriend goes viral. Every man in your life abandons you, but who knew a one-minute clip of your latest doomed relationship would brand you a slut, prevent you from getting your perfect job, and force you to keep doing the one thing you swore you’d never do again…live with your mother.

But staying with mom and her latest boy-toy (is this husband number four or five?) until your life turns around might not be all bad. Especially when you fall – literally – at the feet of a sexy, green-eyed stranger who offers you freedom and a life of luxury on a gold-rimmed platter.

There’s only one little problem – the man of your dreams is none other than Mason Nash, the latest hip-hop star busting up the music charts. Fame and fortune are his calling cards and he’s vying to steal the show on a new reality TV series that will catapult him into mainstream stardom. Hello spotlight.

The man behind the famous persona is perfect for Ellie in every way, but can she overcome the ugly pitfalls that come with Mason's celebrity status? Or will she be forced to choose between the man she loves and the independent life she longs for? After all, fame and fortune aren’t always what they seem and not all publicity is good publicity…

This one was just

It started out pretty decent. Ellie literally falls through the window and lands on the bathroom floor of hip-hop star Mason Nash. The story was told in dual POV. Ellie and Mason had some cute banter between them.

Ellie wants to stay out of the limelight after a video of her and her ex goes viral on YouTube. Which come on....

The whole video was stupid, the reasons behind the video, all of it.

So of course, once Ellie realizes Mason is famous she's like

I'm not dating you.

Then she changes her mind...because he's hot. And he's only going to be in town for a month. So why not enjoy the sex it while it lasts.

Then it's time for Mason to go on tour. They agree to give the long distance thing a go. This is where things really went downhill for me. We entered cheese-ville and predictable-city.

All of that drama wasn't necessary.

Ugh....IDK, this one could have been better. It was good, but not great. Nothing wowing to make me be able to rate it higher.

"I've never had anyone in my life like you. For five years all I've done is live and breathe the music industry. You've made me believe there are good people in this world. Peaople still untarnished. You make me a better person by just being with me. You force me to open up to you and leave myself bare. I want to give you the world, Ellie. I want to give you every piece of me, every piece of my soul until we're so intertwined there's no beginning to you or end to me, we're just one."

This book was very "new adultish” (in a good way of course). We have Ellie, who had to move back with her mother after finishing College, has a job at a real estate office that is just a mean to pay the bills and is still looking for the dream one to kick off with her career. And we have Mason, successful hip hop artist, who is tired of being in the spotlight for five years, so he rents a house in Virginia Beach to relax and think about why he is still unhappy with his life. They meet in very awkward situation and then there is this instant connection between them. She doesn't know he is a famous star. He is glad to finally meet a girl who spends time with him because of who he is and not "what" he is. She has some issues, he has some issues, they start to hang out together and have fun. Ellie finds out about Mason’s profession and since she doesn’t want to be in a limelight she’s not sure about them but still gives their relationship a shot. And then their story follows, I won't say more because I don't want to spoil the fun of reading it.

I liked the characters that author created, both Ellie and Mason are people who you would want to meet in a real life. Ellie was intelligent, optimistic, loyal and fun, like a lovely girl from neighbourhood. Mason was obviously gorgeous, sexy, caring and sincere, simply adorable. And the banter between those two?- it makes you smile all the time. There are some good, hot, and I mean really hot sex scenes along the way. The book has a HEA and no cliffhanger. It was plain sweetness, so if you're looking for angst that's not one for you. I mean there are some troubles in the story but it's nothing nerve-racking. It was very nice reading overall. I stayed two nights in a row till 2 a.m. to finish it and that's saying something. Well done as a debut novel. I will be definitely waiting for the sequel.

Oh, and let’s not forget about Mason’s forehead kisses *sigh*. Guy who does that is definitely a keeper.

"I love you, Ellie. I think I always did. From the moment I found you on the floor I was yours. My heart had been caged for so long. And you...you had the key. You picked the lock open and I haven't been the same since."

Quick Summary
Ellie Wagner is underemployed for the moment as she searches for a job in her chosen field (her degree is in comparative media studies). Working for a real estate broker, she's asked to open an oceanfront beach rental before the client arrives but literally stumbles into him in a most embarrassing way. He's mega-superstar Mason Nash, a hip-hop artist, but Ellie hasn't a clue (she's a classic rock kind of girl). He's intrigued, a lot because she doesn't know him. Both feel the attraction.

The irony of it all
Did I mention that Ellie was caught on camera stuffing a pie in her obnoxious date's face and it went viral on YouTube? She's now media shy as she came off as the bad guy in the incident. It isn't helping her job search either.

What really works about this story
Ellie and Mason both come from less than ideal childhoods but it doesn't define them. She's got great friends, enjoys her life and keeps moving forward positively. He's a nice guy and isn't caught up in his fame and fortune. There's no tiresome angst here.

There's real insight into the downside of fame and the impact on a fledgling relationship (or even a matured one). It's hard to build trust in this environment and the heart of the story surrounds Mason and Ellie's attempt to do so anyway.

The romance really rocks with some highly erotic scenes between these two that's not just about sex. It's very well written and their relationship evolves organically. The timing and pace was dead on.

I LIKED Ellie and Mason. Neither comes across as perfect and their flaws aren't extreme. They're two normal people operating in abnormal environments.

The bottom line
I really liked this well-written story. The New Adult genre is a tricky one for me as so many of the stories often seem to have the same themes. Ellie and Mason aren't written into those traps and their relationship is pretty refreshing. I also like the backdrop of a famed musician's entourage and tour venues, not something I'm familiar with and they provided some interesting tension and predicaments. I'm ready for the next story in this series.

(I received an ARC from the author in exchange for an honest review)

I was lucky enough to get a chance to read an ARC of Rumor Has It (even before it had this awesome, very appropriate title). I didn't read a synopsis so I had no idea what was in store for me, BUT from the very first chapter, where poor, loveable, spunky Ellie is face flat on the bathroom floor with her bare tush in the air--I was hooked.

Ellie is a very likeable, role-model-type character. She hasn't had it easy, her mom is kind of a flake, and even faced with adversity (she's infamous for a YouTube video gone wrong and viral), this girl has her head on her shoulders. I was rooting for her from page one--there is nothing NOT to like about this sweet, charming, smart, hard working girl.

And then in walks Mason Nash...swoon! Even his name makes my knees buckle. Add the fact that he's a famous hip-hop artist with wash-board abs and a heart of gold...Ellie was doomed from the second he found her on he bathroom floor.

Elisabeth Grace has such a way with words--she weaves them together beautifully, while making you feel like you're living in the story. And holy sex scenes--hot hot hot! Mason and Ellie's chemistry is undeniable from the very start and I was happy we didn't have to wait forever for them to create some magic together.

I highly recommend this debut from this very talented author. Not only is it a refreshing read about a unlikely love story, but there are life lessons to be learned about not giving a crap about what other people think of you.

Is the attraction these two feel enough to survive the nasty rumors in the tabloids and the cruelty that comes with being in the limelight?

You'll have to read to find out...

This is a rant...You have been warned!

Sigh...where to begin? Rumor Has It started off fairly promising. Ellie is like a lot of typical 20-somethings (and 30-somethings!), has graduated and due to the downturn is working in a job that is in no way related to her field. The downturn and the fact that an embarrassing clip of her and her ex boyfriend has gone viral on YouTube making Ellie a pariah in the world of media she aches to be employed in. Living at home and working in a real estate job is not ideal for this ambitious graduate especially when her boss is a bit of a butt-head. When Ellie is dispatched by said butt-head to deliver a set of keys to the beach-house a VIP client is renting her day goes from bad to worse when she ends up stuck halfway in a bathroom window with her skirt hanging from the ledge and her backside in the face of Hip-Hop’s biggest star Mason Nash. Do you even have to guess how the rest of this goes? BAM instant attraction and it is one drama filled page after another...

Mason Nash needs a break from the drama of celebrity life (Boo! Poor rich baby!) and so has ended up in...I wanna say Virginia? Anyway his welcome to the state is an eyeful of Ellie’s butt (if you want to know why she’s hanging out with her ass on display read the book because I can’t even...) and naturally when she turns around he’s captivated by her stunning looks, her snarky charm and the fact that she has no idea who he is. FINALLY he can be himself and someone can get to know his soul! Huzzah! Anyway they get together and it’s all fun and games apart from a drunken mom, several misunderstandings and over-reactions and a gun comes into play somewhere because god forbid there wasn’t enough ridiculous drama.
The book is chock-full of back and forth between the two, ZERO transitions, the plot just jumps wildly from one escapade to the next and of course there’s the insta-love. They sleep together once and Mason is declaring that life is better with her and when he has to leave for like a day because he HAS A JOB Ellie is all “Wah, I can’t believe he’s leaving me JUST LIKE EVERY OTHER MAN!!!” Woman! it’s been like a week!

I could go on but I won’t; needless to say I did not enjoy this book and if you don’t like a ton of drama with a choppy plot then you won’t either. Oh and btw the video that apparently got millions of hits on YouTube? Lamest shit ever...and now I’m done! Can’t wait for book two!! Yay! O_o

Spoilers ahead

My name is what?
My name is who?
My name is.......
Slim Shady
😂😂😂😂😂😂😂

I couldn't resist!

Right so on to the review.........

Mason is a hip hop artist known for spitting lyrics. He grew up with an alcoholic mom on the wrong side of the tracks but these days Mason is a successful rapper who takes care of his Younger siblings and his recovering mom. When Mason decides to take a month break to regroup he's surprised to enter his rental home to the sight of a woman's almost bare behind, thinking it's a determined fan Mason is surprised and attracted to the young lady from the Realtors office.

The h ( OMG I forgot her name and I literally JUST finished this! Kinda says it all but.........onwards) has had a run of tough luck. She recently became famous for tossing her food in her date's face after he called her a tease and other horrible names because she'd made out with him but informed him of her 10 date/sex rule. Someone filmed the confrontation and uploaded it to you tube ( I'd think Facebook or Instagram but anywhooo) and millions of views later people have turned vicious and our poor h has lost out on job opportunities because of this. When she encounters the stranger she doesn't know who he is but eventually agrees to go out with him.

So ensues a long drawn out and very boring romance between the sometimes insecure girl next door type h and the former Playboy famous cool guy H

It was boring, sometimes corny, sometimes cheesy, sometimes convenient but very much FREE(at the time I purchased it)!😂

There were moments I didn't like the h, moments the H was clueless and moments when he acted like a horny teenager.

They eventually have a falling out and are separated for some months but he's sorry and yadda yadda yadda....... abrupt ending! Not even an epilogue after determinedly plodding my way through this???? Cold dear author, cold!

H was a Playboy before but he got some sense eventually (OMG is eventually my most used word??? Ugh back to the review 😂) his ex cheated on him and he'd loved her. She reappeared here but only briefly and he wasn't interested

h had had some relationships but nothing epic, she was drugged by a rival of the H to make it appear as if she'd cheated and even though she woke up half naked in a strange place thinking she'd been drugged but she didn't go to a doctor or anything because she'd know if she was violated

H was an ok guy but said some bullshit when he found her in bed with the dude. When he finds out the truth he hastens to her side to beg forgiveness

No others for either of them during the separation

Some things weren't settled at all but that's ok I was ready to quit Reading this anyway 😂

2.5 stars. Well, this book was a flop. And I'm pissed. It started off really well. I liked the h. She had a nice, laid back voice and didn't seem to take herself too seriously. She was smart, self aware and insightful. As I continued to read I became really excited about all the possibilities that could develop and also where exactly the author was going to lead me. Needless to say, I was expecting something smart and original in this book.

At about the 30% mark the book took a steep downward descent. I didn't believe the trip and subsequent bonding between the two of them. All of it seemed rushed and forced. Their relationship didn't feel concrete enough for me to believe that her presence on the trip would have been accepted, and their period of revelations that followed didn't resonate with me. At all. Basically, this book turned into an exact replica of every annoying NA book. The h lost that great voice and the book became pages and pages of the h's inane internal dialogue about her insecurity regarding the H and their relationship. She no longer seemed emotionally strong or independent.

The book also had the POV of the H and his narration devolved into an almost unbearable, incessant chatter about how hot the h was and how her laugh did this to him and how he wasn't expecting that quality from her and blah blah blah. I HATE when authors constantly explain and qualify details that are already evident, or should be evident. I like when an author has strong character development, insightful dialogue and meaningful interactions. That way a reader can discern everything that the author wants to reveal and nothing has to be spoon feed. I thought I was going to get that in this book. Instead, I was told almost everything and experienced very little.

This is how silly the book became: There was one point where the H goes to the h and fights to continue his relationship with her and that same day, for no good reason, she is lamenting about how he must not see her in a romantic way. What??? Another time the H has to cancel plans in order to make an unexpected, but very important business meeting (the h is aware of why the meeting is important, btw) and she whines that he must not really care for her if he was able to leave for this business meeting. Huh??? She eventually checks herself but, seriously, why the fuck did I have to read that nonsense at all? It was completely manufactured bullshit that didn't make sense and it devalued the book for me. The h is smart and insightful and if insecurity was needed for conflict it should have come from something worthy of her intellect. And then there was the silly, OTT, ridiculous conflict towards the end of the book. Nothing about it made sense.

*****THIS IS NOW AVAILABLE!!!*******

I still can't believe I was lucky enough to get my hands on this ARC. Debut author Elisabeth Grace has proven she deserves to be in the Limelight! And why?? Two words....MASON NASH!

A refreshing take on the NA genre. Ellie, a strong female lead and Mason...oh Mason. The man of my dreams!

Ellie and Mason meet in an unusual way. She has no idea who he is...though she should. Mason's interest is immediately piqued by this...such a refreshing change for him.

As they get to know each other, it becomes apparent they come from two different walks of life...but are they really all that different?

Now Ellie must choose between hiding from the spotlight or being thrust into it. The spotlight has burned her before after all.

This author not only held my interest, but she had me laughing out loud numerous times through this novel! I had more than one odd look from my husband while reading this! Haha! The perfect blend of romance and humour and of course sex....

Pour yourself a glass of wine (leave the bottle within arms reach!) and cozy up....because you won't be able to put this one down!

I am already counting down the days until I can get my hands on this authors next release!

Rumor Has It is a rock solid performance by debut author Elisabeth Grace. From the moment a mortified Ellie Wagner falls at smokin’ hot hip-hop artist Mason Nash’s feet these two characters had me hooked - with a fully charged Kindle and no plans for the rest of the day. The emotion Ms. Grace writes with is all encompassing. The humor, the angst, the venom, the sexual tension - all there in this wonderful sexy read. It was my pleasure to have been given an ARC of this book in exchange for an honest review. I am already eagerly awaiting her next release.

The situation in which these two find each other when they actually meet for the first time is pretty funny. Ellie Wagner is a great girl who gets dealt a shitty hand in life. After an embarrassing video of Ellie humiliating her boyfriend on YouTube goes viral she gets bashed on facebook and the internet. People are calling her terrible names, she's ready to lay low and just steer clear from the spotlight (that's after her Youtube video gets millions of hits).

Ellie works for a real estate company and is asked by her boss to unlock a rental house for an unknown client. This girl gets herself locked out, and tries to climb in through the damn window! Her dress gets torn; panties are showing; falls from the window bashing her head on the toilet. It's classic! Until her client walks into the bathroom, thinking she's in intruder. I mean really what kind of introduction is this?? Funny has hell!! Okay now I am hooked and this story totally has my attention. Must read on....

Now we meet the hot guy whose renting the house, Mason Nash. Mason isn't wearing a shirt, this dude is showing some serious abs. A six-pack if we are being honest here; he's got tats everywhere. Picture laying on the floor and looking up at that hot man in tats. I would lose it. Well Ellie is hot for him.

Mason Nash collage This story is told from a duel POV, which I love. So we learn that Mason Nash, isn't just some hot rich guy renting a house in Virginia Beach for a month for shits and kickers. He's a friggin Hip-Hop Artist. A very famous one. And Ellie has no clue!! She is soooo not into rap, and pays no attention to Hollywood gossip. So when Mason realizes that Ellie doesn't recognize him, he uses it to his advantage to get to know this beautiful girl; and stay below the radar for once.

So, they spend time together. Lots of time together. I guess because Mason is a Hip Hop artist I assumed I would be getting this too cool for school celebrity act. This story seriously surprised me. I fell in love with Mason in a hot second; as does Ellie. Mason is so kind, and gentle with her, and they talk about everything under the sun. He really wants to get to know Ellie and not just get in her pants. He only has one month to spend in Virginia to rest before his tour kicks off, and he wants to spend every minute with Ellie. He is relentless and pines for her. He gets what he wants; shit I wouldn't pass up a month with this hottie.

Ellie just needs to get her priorities straight though; like getting a job which is impossible because everybody recognizes her from the damn YouTube video. She's strong though, that's what I love about Ellie. She doesn't let it get in her way; still putting out resumes and refusing to take a handout from Mason who clearly has connections. Nope this chick has her pride.

Ellie Wagner collage

"Don't you understand how much those comments affected me. I lost out on a job today because of it. People I don't even know are having debates about what a horrible person I am. I can't put myself in a position like that again. I'm sorry."

"There's no-"

She pulled away from me and held up a hand. "No, Mason. I've made my decision. I can't see you anymore."

See what I'm saying....Brave...Who the hell turns Mason Nash down??? I really admire Ellie. Usually these chicks are harping all over these men. Nope not Ellie. And thankfully she has a great support system because her funny ass friends are always there for her.

Doesn't matter how brave she is. Mason Nash IS relentless. And this is what sells me on Mason. He's a celebrity that can't trust anybody in this business. Every word that comes out of his mouth is believable and your instantly putty in his hands.
"You're the most refreshing person I've met in years, Ellie. You're not working an angle, you're intelligent and you're so goddamn beautiful in a way that grabs me by the throat and makes it hard to speak. And I sling rhymes for a living so that's saying something."

Dude, you got me there...That shit was fucking poetic. I wouldn't care if he wore a gold chain (which he doesn't), or sling rhymes or whatever. Mason Nash is so into Ellie and the fact that he can trust her is speaking volumes.

At this point, I am hooked. Rumor Has It is jam packed full of all kinds of emotions. It is such a beautiful story; they fall in love, and deep sea fish; they play naked drinking games.

I am a fan of dialog in a story, and I thoroughly enjoyed theirs. Their back and forth conversations are fucking hysterical. OMG and the sex!! It's epic. Elisabeth Grace can really write some serious lustful, hot, panty dropping scenes. WOW...watch out ladies...Mason is HOT, and ready to make you....oh just read on....
"Now you can make noise. I want to hear you scream my name when you come for me."

"No. Sit up and watch."

He placed my legs over his shoulders and leaned in, licking from the top to bottom of my sex. I moaned. Loudly.

HOLLA!! You go girl...Moan as load as you want!! That's so freaking hot, and this book is jam freakin packed with this kinda hotness. Oh he doesn't just make love to her lady parts, he bangs her all over the place, and she loves it!!! They connect in such a way that its hard for them to part.

But Mason makes it work. Its adorable how he makes it work; flying her around to meet him on tour, the sweet text messages.

Don't forget the title of this book; Rumor Has It. I guess in Hollywood nothing is as it seems. Gotta watch out who you trust, because those tabloids, they can mess with your head. Can't always believe what you read, or see.

Mason and Ellie really get caught up in the whirlwind of the "Rumor Mill."

Their trust is tested. Is their love enough for each other? It's a heart wrenching story; it's angsty; it will piss you off. It will make you cry. So much is on the line for Mason, his career. Does he trust her, does she trust him?
"Please. Fight. For Us." He dropped his forehead back down onto mine.

Mason Nash melted me in this book. I loved loved loved this story. I haven't read one like it. Rapper meets hometown girl. It's original, I enjoyed Elisabeth's writing. It's a re-read. Yep!!

Check out their beautiful story. Rumor Has It this story is on FIRE!!!

It has been quite a while since I got emotionally invested in a book. This book had me so emotionally invested in the story line and characters that I found myself weeping at the end when everything came to a close.

Throughout this book I found myself riding this emotional rollercoaster along with the characters. I was happy when they were happy, angry when they were angry, sad when they were sad, and turned on when they were turned on.

I found myself sad when the book ended. I really wanted to keep living in this book and definitely wanted more.

J&G ~ 3.5 Stars

Jenny:
So G, Rumor Has It was a sweet, humorous and sometimes hot escape type read that we need every now and then don’t you think? I mean it didn’t blow my mind but I really did enjoy it nonetheless and enjoyed every minute spent with these guys.

‘She looked at me as if I were the centre of her universe, like I was the only one who could provide her with what she needed right now.’ – Mason

This was a “rock star” theme with a difference, in that the hero is a Hip Hop artist and we’ve never read a music related book with that genre. Being that I’m not a huge Hip Hop fan, it didn’t affect my enjoyment of the story. I mean, what’s not to love about the gorgeous, hot hip hop star Mason Nash?

“But remember this…every time you see me watching you from across the room, know that I’m envisioning all the ways I’m going to take you when we get back here tonight. Remember I’m counting the minutes until I’m deep inside you again, until I’m tasting your sweetness on my tongue.” – Mason

Pass the fan! The underlying message in this story is so relevant to how we live our lives today through social media and how something can be misconstrued and lives ruined by the press of a few buttons. Ellie, our heroine knows this only too well after being the subject of such lies and innuendo after a video of her goes viral. I must say I thought the video was something quite different to what it turned out to be, did you G?

Gitte: Yeah, I was expecting something huge and controversial Jenny, but that kind of wasn’t the case. I guess that was my overall expectation of the story too and whilst I didn’t think this one turned out to be what I expected at all, I do agree Jenny, ‘Rumor Has It’ was really sweet, sexy and fun. It didn’t wow me though, it was just okay. I think because the beginning of the story had such a great build-up I thought it was going to turn into more than it did. It’s definitely a well written story to stick in between those dark or very angsty emotional reads though and I think a nice escape is spot on Jenny!

For me, I have to say, this is my first ‘hip hop star’ book and I’m not sure this didn’t play a small part in my overall feeling. That is in no way a fault of the story, it’s just my personal opinion. I’m not a fan of hip hop, so for me, I didn’t really connect with our hero as such. He was a bit meh for me because of this when added to some of his behaviour in the story. Don’t get me wrong, he was gorgeous, had a good heart underneath and was a well written character. I just didn’t feel him. I did however, feel incredibly sorry for his ‘family life’ and applauded his attitude and sense of responsibility!

As for Ellie, I really liked her character. She was strong, sweet and likeable. She had an honest innocence, was comfortable in her own skin and had a love of life which made me completely connect with her. She was a very well written heroine! She’s had a tumultuous home-life and this has made her very wary. I really felt for her and wanted her to be proved wrong!

‘I’d probably cry for weeks but I’d get over it. I knew better than to let him become important to me, knew it would only lead to heart-break when he left. They always left….’

I thought the social media message was spot on! That was the crux of the story-line really and I agree with how devastatingly intrusive and misconstrued it can be and get. This covers all aspects, and when combined with what someone would do for fame and fortune, well it can affect the victim/s horribly.

“Words can cause as much damage as fists, if not more. The only difference is that the damage is on the inside where no one can see it and it accumulates over time…”

J&G:
This dual pov story can be read as a standalone, though we will get to revisit Ellie and Nash in further books based on other characters from Rumor Has It. It was a fabulous escape and despite the subject matter and message in the story; it was quite a light read. It was enjoyable to spend time with Ellie and Mason as they navigate their way through the paparazzi, through life being lived in the spotlight, through the ups and downs of success and failure, battling the odds and enjoying the triumphs.

‘I realised this was the price of fame. Every moment of your life lived out in the public sphere was immortalized forever.’

Through their self-discovery and finding out the real importance of what matters in life. These two were a delight to spend a day with.

"Rumor Has It" there's a new author in town! ;) And what a debut it is...I cannot say enough good things about this story, the characters, and the writing--but I'll sure try!

A "rock star romance" with a unique plot, this book had me hooked from page one, though it's the end of the first chapter where I was laughing out loud. The pacing was perfect and I would have read it in one sitting if I could have...darn life kept getting in the way! I loved the author's style of writing and thought that the dual point-of-view was particularly effective in this story.

All that being said, it was the characters that really shined in this story. Not only did I love the way they stayed true to who they were and what they wanted throughout the entire book, but the dialogue between them was fantastic. I'll let you in on what I'm talking about....

Mason Nash. Sex-on-a-stick, heart of gold, devoted to family, ultra-talented hip-hop artist.

A slow easy smile crept across his face. He had a dimple. Seriously? That attractive and somehow the heavens figured he needed a dimple, too? For what? In case there was a girl alive who didn't want to drop their panties for him upon contact? It was just unfair.

While this does seem unfair, that's only if he's not yours. If he is, then all is right with the world ;)

Ellie Wagner. Self-deprecating, refreshingly mature, real (as in just-like-you-and-me real), often hilarious, and smart.

I was not in this guy's league, I wasn't in the ballpark; hell, I couldn't even afford tickets to watch the game.

Although she may not have it all together (not many do the second they graduate from college), she at least knows what she wants out of life and doesn't abandon those goals....not even for hotter-than-hell Mason.

"I had an amazing night, Ellie. The best I've had in years."
Holy crap. This guy was making it super difficult for me to stick to my ten-date rule.
"I had a good time, too."
"Let's do it again."
"Okay." What else was there to say really? I wasn't into games, which was why I was always upfront about the ten date thing. I wasn't going to play coy or pretend I didn't want to see him again.

That's what I'm talking about!

Skye Summers. BFF to Ellie, funny, loyal, with a bit of mystery surrounding her character (next book in the series is about her...yay!).

"You have to stop worrying about that video. I know it looks bad, but it'll blow over. Someone else will do something stupid and put it on the Internet and the world will forget your video ever existed."
"Gee, thanks," I deadpanned.
"You know it's at almost twenty-four million views now."
"You do realize that every time you go and check out how many views the damn thing has you're just adding to the tally, right?"
"I can't help myself." Skye laughed and I couldn't help but laugh with her. Of everyone in my life I knew she'd have my back. Always.

I loved Katie too, another friend of Ellie's, who provided a lot of humorous dialogue throughout the book and is also very real, but I better wrap this up before I give away too much :). Basically, Rumor Has It had it all...it felt relatable in a way that many books about celebrities do not, contained some important life lessons that were obvious but not shoved down your throat, and...oh yeah...did I mention that Ms. Grace brought the steam along with her in this debut? But with a guy like Mason Nash as the object of our sexual attraction affection, did you expect anything less?

“I want to give you every piece of me, every piece of my soul until we’re so entwined there’s no beginning to you and no end to me, we’re just one.”-Mason
So did that quote make you swoon a little bit? I know it did me. This is such a sweet fun read. It is filled with love and strength. Ellie and Mason are that perfect couple that you do not expect. They are from two different worlds and that is what Mason loves about Ellie even more. He is a huge HIP HOP celebrity and she has no clue who he is, rock and roll is more her thing. Mason is not your typical man whore celebrity singing sensation. In the past yes he was, but he has not been that type of man in a long time. This was refreshing.

The story delves into how the effects of Social Media and how it can turn your personal life to hell. Ellie is dealing with the aftermath of a video that went viral and has to deal with a lot of negative feedback from it. The one thing she does not want is to be the center of attention. SOOO let’s fall for a superstar!! Where the tabloids post the worst pictures of you and make up horrible stories about you.

What I truly loved in this book is how the author had the characters stand up for themselves. Ellie was beaten up (figuratively speaking) but she fights back, she turns negative into a positive and uses it to help others. Mason is amazing because he has not had the easiest life growing up but he wants to help his family, always want to provide for them. There is great communication for the most part with the characters. Of course there are those that do not want the happy couple to stay happy and try to tear them apart in the worst way possible.

Now I only had a tiny dislike of the book. I wish that it could have been hotter, the sex scenes were good but faded out to black too often, and the ones that were there were lacking a little bit. I sensed that Mason was Alpha in the beginning but that side of his personality seemed to disappear later. It just seemed to lack some consistency. I did feel their connection but it was not super intense to me, it did not dig down into my heart where I felt they needed each other in order to survive. I still enjoyed every second of it.

This was a fun story filled with some craziness along the way.

We meet Ellie who’s had a rough go of it lately, haunted by decisions she made in the past. She’s in a dead end job with a great education. She’s stuck in a rut; no one wants to take a chance on her.

Then there’s Mason, a superstar who needs a break. He has the money and the fame but something’s missing. There’s a piece of the puzzle that he needs to complete him. He has no clue what he’s looking for or where to find it.

Their meeting was hilarious. She had no idea who he was. He was relieved she didn’t fall all over him. They start a relationship knowing there’s a time limit. Feelings develop and she’s it, that missing piece. She doesn’t want anything from him but him. His fame scares her but she doesn’t care. She just wants him. Things happen along the way. Rumors run rampant. Their relationship is sabotaged by someone he’s trusted with his life. He lets her go without hearing her side of the story. They’re both miserable without each other. The truth is finally revealed and Ellie being the amazing woman she is will give it another try. This book deals with an issue that can occur on a daily basis – cyber bullying. It shows you that only you can change how people see you by standing up for yourself and taking your life back.

4-4.5 Stars

I was given an ARC copy of Rumor Has It for an honest review.

I was pretty much sucked into Ellie and Mason's story from their first meeting. Not only was it unusual, but it was laugh-out-loud funny. Ellie is a sweet, kind-hearted woman that doesn't realize her worth or beauty. After being publicly humiliated by a viral video, she tries to avoid anything that will draw attention to her. She meets the sexy Mason Nash by chance and their chemistry is immediate and through the roof. What Ellie doesn't realize is that Mason is very much a public figure and being with him is going to put her right back into the spotlight.

I really love the way this author writes; I enjoyed the dual point of view, the sex scenes were INSANE and she literally made me laugh out loud. I can't wait to read more of this new author!

This was just ok for me.

I found that I was disappointed in the video and what it entailed. I thought it would be something worse than what it was. I didn't think it was a big deal and I thought she was entitled in her response and that the person that really looked bad was the guy.

But, I liked the relationship between Ellie and Mason. But honestly, I have a huge soft spot for rock stars.

So, while it didn't work for me, it wasn't bad. I would definitely recommend it for other people. :)

I loved this book about a chance meeting in a most unusual way and the resulting romance. Mason is a big hip-hop star taking a break from the spotlight. Ellie is a recent grad working at a real estate broker office while she looks for a job suited to her major in comparative media studies. She has no clue that this hot guy who asks her out is famous since she's not into hip-hop music.

Social media plays a role in this story as a double-edged sword. A social media presence is important for a rising star but the wrong post can do unintended damage or change a narrative. Ellie is hoping her embarrassing viral video will be forgotten but it's difficult to stay out of the spotlight when the guy you're dating is a paparazzi magnet.

Ellie and Mason have genuine affection for each other. They are presented with challenges from all sides and have to separate fact from fiction when situations cannot be taken at face value.

Rumor has it! A story about a normal girl with an embarrassing video and a Hip Hop celebrity.
I must say I find this book very entertaining, easy to read and very refreshing.

You can relate to the many facets of their life that you get to see in the book. Both of them have Mother Issues they didn’t have it easy growing up. Ellie a college boomerang as she calls it, has to return to live with her mother and current boyfriend. She works as a real state secretary but she wish to move to a better more relate to her carrier job. But here is the road block! she has a viral video on internet about her and her boyfriend. Well I can say that I thought it was far worse that it is. I found that not believable that a video like that would close so many doors for you. Well moving on! She later meets Mason and everything starts developing from that point on.

I find the drama and the stress in this book well develop. It also has a lot of laugh and gasp moments. The trips the limos, private planes and everything goes with the story and the stress of being apart. I loved the characters, I think the ending could be better but it was fine.

I like this book but it is not without any flaws! This Is I no way perfect but I loved it! For me it would be great if this book were a standalone book but I also i want to learn more about the couple in future books. I think the Author has a lot of potential and I can’t wait for the next book from this author!

4 Sweet Sexy Sizzling Stars & Hearts

Oh boy Mason Nash, what a guy. I really enjoyed this sexy sweet romance. I laughed out loud at their first meeting and was completely enthralled throughout this story. Ellie has had her share of being ridiculed in the media and want's to just fade out and her little 15 minutes of fame to be forgotten. Then in comes sexy hip hop superstar Mason Nash. All those dreams are tossed when there is no way they can hide living this type of lifestyle. I loved how sweet and romantic Mason was and how he never once tried to hide or act in any way like he wasn't crazy about Elle. They had amazing chemistry and there were some super hot scenes to enjoy. Lot's of drama, intrigue and humor made this a great read. I can't wait for the next one.

Wow! Every month that I waited for this book was definitely worth the wait! Ellie and Mason were just perfect for each other, two souls that had troubled childhoods. I thoroughly enjoyed reading about these two falling in love with each other, Ellie facing her insecurities, and not to mention the sex in this book is HOT! I definitely recommend this book! I will definitely be reading Elisabeth Grace's upcoming books! 5 out of 5 blazing stars!

Loved the story, the characters and great writing. This is the kind of story I needed read at the moment, it gave me butterflies in my stomach at times and loved the way Mason was always upfront and cleared the air so there was no lingering misunderstanding due to his profession. Looking forward to continue with this series.
