Siberian Volkov Pack #5

A Siberian Werewolf In Paris

Rate this book
"A Siberian Werewolf in Paris" is the fifth book in the bestselling, and much loved series, Siberian Volkov Pack.

Valerii Belikov, Siberian lycanthrope, knew that under the baseball cap and grubby jeans “Little Joe MacDonald” was actually Josephine. He didn’t know why she was hiding, but when the mating bond snapped into place after she was injured, he never expected her to run away. Josie is his mate, the one woman meant to be his, and should have known they couldn’t live apart. He could accept her hiding, but there was no way he could give her up.

Josephine Chevalier knew this day would come. Her father’s killers had found her. To keep her pack mates in England safe, she needed to run. It was time to return to Paris where it all started five years ago. Now if only Valerii, the man she wanted above all others, would stay away.

Looking down at the golden cord tying their hearts together, she realized he would come. How could she keep him safe?

A Siberian Werewolf in Paris (Volkov Pack #5) by Caryn Moya Block
* I received a copy of this book in exchange for an honest review*

Josie and her family were kidnapped from their Paris home where her parents were the pack leaders. Her father was killed during experiments and her mother soon followed him. With the help of a young scientist, Josie manages to escape and has been on the run ever since. She lives life ready to run at a moment’s notice and tries to blend in with others around her. She has found a safe haven with the London pack but her past has managed to sneak up on her, along with the mating bond she wasn’t expecting. Now her only option to keep those she loves safe is to return to Paris and face the evil stalking her.

Valerii has known that Josie was hiding something but he never realized that she was the alpha heir of the Paris werewolf pack. When the mating bond snaps into place, he can’t believe that he has found the one for him. He can’t wait to share everything with her and show her what it means to be a mate until he realizes that she has ran from him, taking his money with her. He has no intention of letting someone else protect his mate, that’s his job and he takes it very seriously. His mate isn’t happy that he followed her but a very wise woman on the train convinced her that she and Valerii are stronger together than apart.

Together these two take on the not only the Paris pack’s problems but the organization that kidnapped her family and killed her father, Doctors for a Better Humanity. They are still learning each other but the mating bond helps with that and as the story progresses they learn to trust and depend on each other. They are well matched and a strong Alpha couple. I love how Valerii just steps in and automatically takes over directing the Paris pack once she has made her claim. He is a good person that cares about his fellow wolves, which was evident when he rescues Bijou, her brother and his mate.

I love that Josie is a strong female and wants to take care of things. She has had a hard time since she lost her parents but she has managed to take care of herself. She is now ready to go home and face her captors and her former pack; it’s the only way she can keep her mate safe. Valerii was there for her and did what he could to take care of her but he still let her be involved and do what she needed to do too.

The book has interesting secondary characters that add to the complexity of the story. One of my favorites was Josie’s grandmother, the scene with her and Valerii on the train was great. I think the author does a good job with the background descriptions of the key players too. This is the fifth book in the series but I was able to read it as a standalone and enjoy the story without being lost. I would like to go back and read other stories in this series. My only complaint was in the formatting, there were several areas where the story was out of context and all jumbled up. I don’t know if it had to with the kindle conversion or not but it did make it difficult to follow at times.

Overall I really enjoyed this story and plan on picking up other’s in this series. I give A Siberian Werewolf in Paris 4 Flaming Hearts.

Joe has been living with Rosie for 5yr. The new English Alpha for 2. She thinks her disguise has been working but little does she know the whole pack knows Joe is probably really Josephine. When intruders break into the pack house Joe recognizes one as her abductor from 5 yr ago...one of the men that helped the man who killed her parents so she runs.
Valerii is upset by her disapperance and has to admit to himself he cares for her triggering their heartmate bond which he follows to Paris. There he discovers Joe is more then she told Rosie and the English pack and her enemies can hurt all of their kind.
I was a bit disappointed that the Alpha voice at the end was never I.D. is that going to be addressed in another novel??
