I have to start out by saying that I really disliked Cameron in the first book. He was an immature twit and I wanted to kick his butt for the way the acted toward Olivia and George. George was just a novelty to him and he was put out when Radley and Olivia fell in love. So coming into this book, I wasn’t looking forward to reading Cameron’s story.

After reading The Army Doctor’s Baby, I was glad that Cameron was stepping back and letting Rad be a father to George. Cam was a stupid immature guy that refused to step up to his responsibility. But after getting to know him in this book, I felt kind of bad for him. He realized what he missed out on and that was just sad.

In some ways, I felt like this book wasn’t as rushed as the previous one. Maybe it’s because the course of the book seemed like was months longer or maybe it was because there was more action. Either way, much to my surprise, I enjoyed this one more than the first.

This book was just okay. Unfortunately it had one strike against it before I ever began reading it. In the first book in this series Cameron, who is Radley's brother, got his girlfriend pregnant and abandoned both her and his child. His brother, Radley, stepped up to the plate and married his brother's ex-girlfriend falling in love with her and her baby. He took up the mantle and became the father to his brother's child. Cameron, the dead beat bio dad, didn't bother to claim his child. That really colored this book for me. Yes, he was trying to right a wrong but it was too little, too late.

The Army Doctor’s Wedding is by Helen Scott Taylor. It is one of the books in the boxed set Ten Brides for Ten Heros. The books all have the same plot which is very simple-boy meets girl, have problems, make up and get married. They are good for mindless reading and they are simply fun.
Alice Conway has certainly come down in her life. She is the estranged daughter of Sir Alistair Conway and now is a volunteer for Safe Cradle charity. She is in the middle of Africa running for her life and the life of the child she carries in her arms. Three African women who were with her when the village was overrun and their children were fleeing also. If the rebels catch them, they will be instantly killed if they were lucky. Reaching the refugee camp before they caught up with them is looking less and less likely. Suddenly two helicopters arrive, one firing on the rebels and one picking up the women and children. Major Cameron Knight, an army doctor, sees Alice go down. He doesn’t know if she is dead or alive but it is his job to find out and help if he can. Neither knew their life is about to change drastically.
Major Cameron Knight is a front line army doctor. He is in his element when he rescues hurt soldiers and puts them back together as best he can before sending them on to a larger hospital. He is the second son of Major General George Knight and the brother of Colonel Radley Knight. All his life he was the irresponsible son while Radley was the responsible one. Through a set if unusual circumstances, Cameron even gave up his rights to his son to Radley. So, Cameron’s son George is being brought up as Radley’s son. Cameron felt it was the right thing to do for George. The last thing he is looking for is a wife and family but he gets just that.
In order to bring the baby Alice saved to Britain to repair his cleft lip, Alice has to get permission from the local government to take him out of the country. Cameron had already arranged a visa for him to enter England through his father. Knowing a little of the language, Cameron took her to the Child Protective Services to see what could be done. They end up in the adoption agency. The only way they will allow a child to leave Africa is to be adopted and only married couples can adopt. Alice and Cameron decide to get married to fulfill all the requirements to get Sami out of Africa.
What will be the reaction of Cameron’s family when he brings home a wife and son? Will Sami get the operation he needs? Will their marriage remain in name only? Will Alice be able to adopt Sami in England? How will her father take the news he is not only the father of the bride but also a grandfather?

4.5 Star Review - The Army Doctor's Wedding

I recommend this book.

I enjoyed this book by Helen. This book includes passion, laughs, heartache, and sweet romance.

If you have not read the below I would recommend reading that book first:
The Army Doctor's Baby

Alice Conway was holding a baby and ended up breaking her arm while running from the enemy. The baby needs surgery to fix his lip. If the mother had she not died in childbirth she would not have touched the baby anyway. The village people believed that a child born with a deformity was cursed and so is the mother after that. Alice would not leave him behind.

Major Cameron Knight just rescued a charity worker. While she is healing he is working and looking in on the baby. As the days go by and Alice heals Cameron feels drawn to her. She finds him attractive but she is trying to fight it. He is a medic who is serving his country. She needs to learn to take care of her baby so she can get him home.

In order to get the surgery she has to adopt the baby “Sami”. The government in that country only lets married people adopt children so she has to be married. Cameron decides he will marry her so she can take Sami home and get his surgery.

Once home they spend time together Cameron feels torn as he is growing close to both Sami and Alice but what if Alice doesn’t want him or his help. He is also feeling guilt and anger at himself for giving up his son to his brother even though it was for the best. What will Alice think if she finds out he gave up his own son?

When the adoption process starts Cameron realizes that his job is making the process harder. Should he quit his job so Alice can keep her son? Will he regret making the choice he thinks he has to make? Will he end up alone or with Alice and Sami?

I was given a copy for review in exchange for my honest opinion.
Self-less, impulsive, loyal, kind these are a few of the ways you can describe Cameron Knight. Reading this book made me feel like I was thrown into the war torn country. It caused my imagination to run all over the place and be put through the high stress that they were. I was ready to fall down and start having a panic attack within the first chapter!
This book had covered a lot of ground in a small amount of time! I couldn’t put the book down the whole time I was reading. I had read the first Army Doctor book with Radley and to be honest I didn’t like Cameron but its 6 years later and he is 6 years wiser. Alice seemed to bring out an even better person in him than even he knew he could be.
I laughed, I cried, and I got frustrated. This book was fantastic in bringing out all of my emotions and in making the characters believable. I seriously hope that Helen goes back and writes books for each of the children that are introduced in this series as I am now in love with all of them! 5/5

Let me just say that after the first book, I was not a fan of Cameron, our hero in this one. I did tell the author this in messages, but she assured me that he would have his story. Well, I have to retract my opinion of him in this one.

Cam and Alice became a couple that I was rooting for right from the beginning. With the time jump that occurred between book 1 and this one, you could see how much Cam had grown. He truly did gain the respect that I didn't want to give him in the first one.

The Army Doctor's Wedding by Helen Scott Taylor is a nice romantic story with great characters and a nice story line. If you like reading classic romance stories this one is a good one.
It's my second book by this author and I'll be picking up another one of her books very soon.

This is the second book in the Army Doctor's series. The next ones are:
The Army Doctor's Christmas Baby
The Army Doctor's New Year's Baby

The first one was The Army Doctor's Baby.

Cameron and Alice

This was another great book by the author. It is the story of two people who met during an African war, rescued natives, and fell in love. I really liked this story.

Loved this book!

This book was so fun to read. A family who stays together and back each other up through trying times is a wonderful thing. Not all families do that. Great read Helen Scoot Taylor!
