We gave the supervillains a humiliating black eye on national TV, and it sent a message nobody could miss:
Superheroes are back, and the LNP is doomed.
But it won’t be so simple, the LNP have massive resources and are totally ruthless and they are willing to kill as many innocents as it takes to draw us out in the open where they can kill us easily.
The empire, as they say, is going to strike back, and we’re going to be in for the fight of our lives.
This continued the exploits of the Wonder League and was a fun escalation of the team interactions and their attack against the LNP. The continued development of Theo's power set was interesting and I look forward to seeing what else he can do. Can he start to use his powers as a more offensive power? Mr. Jacobs has a large canvas to work with. I really like how the Alchemist powers of Sandy are staring to evolve as well. With her ability to control elements, how she transformed the storage building pipes was crazy, I can't wait to see how Mr. Jacobs takes her powers to the next level too. This was a great second book in the series. I can't wait to see Earl Johns response to the Wonder League's successes in this book and how they will continue to whittle away at the LNP's power base.
This is such a fantastic superhero story, the dystopian setting, and challenges the characters face make for some really incredible storytelling! I eagerly await the next one!
I like the plot and the story, but at times I find it difficult to want to read the book. I find myself taking very long breaks in order to continue reading
