The Ancient #3

Ancient Revelations

Rate this book
A father’s worst nightmare.
A new hero’s greatest challenge.
A deadly secret.
And one crazy demon hunter.

A cunning trap, a hundred years in the making, is about to be sprung by Joseph Miller and his companions, Mike Samson and Ann Melakh. Surrounded by enemies and betrayed by friends, the demon hunters find themselves in the fight of their lives.

The Ancient is a Horror/Action series with just the right touch of comedy. Ancient Revelations is the third book in the series that follows the adventures of eccentric demon hunter Joseph Miller. His job is to defend the human race against seven mythical demons and their offspring. Unfortunately for us, he has been dead for the last hundred years. The series begins with Ancient Awakening and continues with Ancient Enemies and Ancient Revelations.

Late to the game reading this series. I must say it was great and trying to figure out why the next book hasn't come out since this was published in 2013. Glad my wife forced, harassed, guilt, and side-eyed me into reading this.
I love the characters, story line, plot, dialog and one liners in this series.

A good story

Despite some glaring typos and grammatical errors, the Ancient series is quite entertaining. Vampires, werewolves, demons, and gods clash in a battle of power against humanity. And toxic lilies for some reason.
The creatures and battle scenes are quite good, lots of fast paced action. Plenty of mayhem with some fantastic encounters. While the action is good, the lulls are abysmal. Dialogue between characters is pedantic at best, and rather detracts from their development in the series.
I don’t regret reading the books, but no desire for future chapters.

I enjoyed this series quite a bit. The way old mythologies were interwoven into the story to give it a history was very well done. The character development is also well done. I found myself caring about them and what happened to them. By the end the reader is rooting for the good guys, disgusted with the bad guys and intrigued by what's really going on in the background. There are more than a few editing errors but they're easy to overlook. I'm looking forward to the next chapter.

Matthew, start writing because I want more!

Miller ranks up there with Harry Dresden and Atticus O'Sullivan as the reigning stars of urban fantasy for me.

Matt, I know where the bacon lives and I'm not afraid to use it.

Good read but left me I filled

I loved the characters and story line. But after while I got annoyed with the lack of explanations & cryptic undertones. Also there were some typos. I'm looking forward to the next one and would to see these beasties and Miller on any screen.
