Eye Telling is an erotic romance.
Katherine Newheart is engaged to her dull fiancé, Matthew O'Connor, who's just been made a partner in Katherine’s father’s law firm.
When she meets The Boy alias Benjamin Riley, everything changes. Katherine tries to hold back, keep her usual control but it fails because Benjamin is everything that Matthew isn’t and that makes him everything that Katherine needs and wants. He awakes her in more ways than one. Katherine ends all tangled up in a steamy hot and passionate love affair with Benjamin. She tries to break it off with Matthew but all of a sudden, he turns into a complete monster and starts being violent towards her, threatening her about some fatal information he has about her family. Katherine can’t stay away from Benjamin, even though she’s perfectly aware that she might jeopardize it all but her love for Benjamin is strong, stronger than her own control. But how strong is Katherine's control when it all comes down to it? Is the passionate love between her and Benjamin enough for her to start doing things just for her or will she end up in her controlling way again?

I swore I would never find a worse book than Marked. I thought worse books than that belonged in the realm of online fanfiction or the stories I wrote when I was fifteen. I was wrong. Oh so wrong. Eye Telling ('DrømmeSyn' in Danish, the version I read), is a vision of badness. Let me start from the beginning.

Katherine Newheart is engaged to a boring man whose only crime, to begin with, is being boring and a bit of a snob. Then one evening she has to go to a disgusting bar where she meets Benjamin Riley, a guy who's very youthful and whom she ends up having hot, passionate sex with every twenty pages, give or take. This suddenly turns Matthew into a violent psycopath because what is reasearch and now Katherine has to decide what to do about her hot, passionate lurve for Ben, about her now violent fiancé and the supposed secrets he knows about her father.

I just summed up the whole plot. All of it. Nothing more happens. There are a bunch of other characters, but none of them turn out to be relevant to the plot, other than the three people I've mentioned. A bunch of people are named, given exact ages, described in ridiculous detail and then never mentioned again. Tons, and tons of stuff happens with only the purpose of having Katherine moping about the same problem again and again... and it has no resolution. For that, you'll have to wait for the second book!

And I haven't even scratched the surface here. The grammar is atrocious, the spelling is just as atrocious. Everything is told and nothing is shown. It is the most repetitive thing I have ever read - time and time again we get to hear of Katherine's morning/evening routine in annoying detail, get annoyingly detailed descriptions of her every outfit and are told way too much information about her and her life. Usually, the problem with bad books is the characters don't have personality - here you're bombarded with so much personality it melts into an amorphous, grey blob and that's spoonfed to you rather than shown.

So many things in this book could have been skipped, so much left out without it harming the story. And then there are the unpleasant elements - such as the violent relationship between Katherine and Matthew. The way this relationship has nothing to do with reality - the write knows nothing about the dynamics and ups and downs of such a relationship. She hasn't researched it, and if she had, I suspect she wouldn't be talented enough to treat it well. Violent partners don't just suddenly freak out and beat you because you cheat on them - there are always signs, the victim is broken down and treated like garbage until they have no self-esteem and no will left. It's an ugly, ugly, tragic thing, not just a handy plot device you can throw in. Same goes for rape. If you're not talented enough to deal with a sensitive topic, don't.

I could go on and on - in Danish the book is a weird mish-mash of Danish with English grammar, the same thing happens over and over again throughout the book, the absurd detours the narrator's thoughts take in the middle of serious scenes... really, so much is wrong. But I also want to take a moment to say that I genuinely admire the author.

Hear me out before you wonder what's wrong with me (we all do): this book was self-published. It's a terrible mess - even the layout of it is awful - but it's her mess. She pulled herself together, she wrote it, she published it, she's proud of it. She's scraped together almost 400 Facebook fans and she's getting positive reviews in spite of everything. Heck, not only do I admire her - I envy her. She's done what I've wanted to do since I was fifteen and sure she's done it poorly, but dang it, if she didn't do it.
Her skills as a writer are subpar to even those of my own fifteen year old self, but as a human being, I have nothing but the deepest respect.

What happens when you think your life is going according to plan? When do we begin to simply exist instead of really live? What about the boy from the wrong side of the tracks? This is a book that delves into the dilemmas that arise when we break the rules, when the status quo is no longer palatable, when we question our decisions and choices, and when we discover whether or not we are brave enough to live and love regardless of society's approval.
Katherine Newheart is a wealthy business owner who is in a long term relationship with her boring fiancee, Matthew O'Connor. Katherine is a pampered, privileged, woman who believes she is the master of her own destiny. She is mystified as to why no one likes Matthew, except for maybe her parents.
Matthew has become a partner at her father's law firm. Cold fish would be a kind way of describing Matthew. Pretentious, misogynistic, and controlling are more accurate. He may appear calm and in control, but as the book progresses he shows himself to be anything but! He is a seething mass of anger, obsession, and is power hungry.
Benjamin Riley (referred to in much of the book as 'the Boy') comes to Katherine' s aid one night when she has car problems. Handsome, sexy, kind, and compassionate, and from the wrong zipcode - Benjamin's is everything Matthew is not! He and Katherine are inextricably drawn to one another. She is awakened sexually, and begins realising just how boring Matthew really is in the sack! Ben's spontaneity and charismatic sexuality make Katherine burn like she's never burned before! Their affair makes her question what she knows about love. Is she in love with Matthew, or going along with what she perceives expected of her?
Experiencing romantic love for the fist time, Katherine finds herself trapped in a relationship that she no longer wants. Matthew becomes increasingly abusive and unstable as Katherine begins to think for herself. He refuses to accept that Katherine wants out, threatens her and her family, and begins physically abusing Katherine.
Will Katherine choose the man who can give her everything-except money? Will she succumb to Matthew's Machiavellian tactics and remain engaged to be married? There is no happily ever after....yet. We will all need to wait for the sequel to find out what happens to our twisted love triangle!
The book was very disturbing on many levels, but that is a GOOD thing! Many women find themselves in abusive relationships they cannot escape. Sadly, we hear about the fallout on the evening news. A good book engages both my brain and emotions. This book made me angry, hopeful, sad...but it made me feel all of them passionately!!

Two different people, Two different worlds. Only one love of a lifetime.
Does true love really conquer all?
Wow, Eye Telling was amazingly written.
I was hook, line and sank deep into this novel.
Katherine(AKA Kate)had it all; owning a successful business, financially stable, expensive designer clothes, hand bags, makeup, etc. Loving parents and friends, even her controlling OCD fiancé.
What more could she want?
Katherine and Matthew have been together five years, engaged six months, and beginning to analyze her life and what she wants, always pleasing everyone but herself.
She decides to become spontaneous, living in the moment and doing things she never has before.
One night Kate meets Benjamin(AKA Ben) at a gallery and they decide throw caution into the wind rocking both their worlds.
Ben is not Kate's typical guy; he wears t-shirts, baggy jeans, etc. Oh and has lots of lovely, colorful tattoos. He's a colorful guy who has a dark past.
"Don't Judge A Book By Its Cover"
Kate constantly reminds herself.
They begin to have a steamy, erotic, lust full affair, turning into more than either was looking for.
Her and Ben love each other like no other, but Matthew refuses to let her go. When Kate becomes too persistent to leave Matthew to be with Ben she sees a side never saw before. Conflicted emotions leave her battling with her conscience (which was historical,I laughed quite a but, love her colorful humor).
When push comes to shove, Does true love really conquer all?
I totally can't wait for book 2, I need more Kate and Ben.

are sooo superficial! From the
beginning of this book there isn't an
expensive brand name that isn't
mentioned.. I hated Katherine at the
beginning of this book, she warmed up
to me throughout the book. Katherine?
She is the owner of her own PR firm but
has this lawyer Boyfriend is partners at
her dad's law firm. The 2 of them?
Snobby. Matthew? A stuck up, snobby,
boring, cold asshole who is the
boyfriend of Katherine, they have been
together for 5 years, but don't live
together.. This is how Katherine
describes Matthew "HE'S WEARING A
GREY ARMANI SUIT WITH A WHITE
SHIRT UNDERNEATH. I WOULD LOVE
TO SEE HIM IN A SUIT THAT MAKES
HIM LOOK EVEN DULLER. AT LEAST I
HOPE HE'LL WEAR A BLACK SUIT FOR
OUR WEDDING, WHENEVER THAT IS.
MATTHEW IS 35 YEARS OLD BUT
SOMETIMES HE LOOKS 70 BECAUSE
OF HIS BORING CLOTHING AND HIS
NON-EXPRESSIVE FACE. HE RARELY
SMILES AND ALWAYS LOOKS
SERIOUS. " HERE IS ANOTHER
SNIPPET. "HE'S VERY PASSIONATE
ABOUT HIS JOB AND HE LOVES BEING
A LAWYER BECAUSE HE WANTS
JUSTICE. I DO LIKE MATTHEW'S
PASSION FOR POLITICS, JUSTICE AND
THE LAW IN GENERAL. BUT TO BE
HONEST, IT CAN BE QUITE BORING
HEARING ABOUT HIS WORK DAY,
ESPECIALLY SINCE HE TALKS IN
PARAGRAPHS. HIS VOICE IS SUCH A
MONOTONE, THANK HEAVENS HE'S
NOT SUPPOSED TO BE AN AUDIO
BOOK NARRATOR - NOT UNLESS IT
WAS FOR CHILDREN WITH SLEEPING
PROBLEMS." OMG just reading that
made me want to fall over and die!
HOW THE HELL CAN SHE STAY WITH
THEM!! Their sex life? NONEXISTENT!
He's is boring! soo BLAH!!!! I wanted to
shake her and slap her a couple of
times and ask her.. "WTF ARE YOU
DOING?!" Katherine ends up with a car
problems and goes into a shady bar to
ask for help and ends up meeting
BENJAMIN who she calls "THE BOY"
She describes him... "HE'S ONCE
AGAIN WEARING VERY YOUTHFUL
CLOTHING AND THAT ANNOYING CAP!
BUT DARN, THOSE EYES ARE
MESMERIZING! THEY ARE DEEP AND
DARK BLUE, THEY GLOW AND YET IT'S
LIKE THEY ARE TELLING ME
SOMETHING. HE GIVES ME A LITTLE
WRY SMILE, THOSE LIPS ARE TO DIE
FOR. I JUST WANT TO BITE HIS LOWER
LIP." The Description that is given for
Ben is just a good girl's wet dream! Will
Katherine give into Temptation? Or will
she just stare from a distance? Will Ben
Give Matthew a run for his money?? Oh

times!!! Ms. Flak I give you kudos to
making this calm, loving reviewer into a
crazed emotional, mental, wreck! MY
husband has been thinking that I am
crazy because of this book! LOL

Given by the author for an honest review for her Blog Tour

Another book I feel so ambivalent about..You know, this never used to happen to me until very recently..
Anyway
In my opinion, Eye Telling is a very different book with very complicated characters. Even after reading the whole book and thinking over it, I still don’t feel like I really know the characters. Perhaps that is because they don’t know themselves yet. Yeah that’s probably it.

>>Katherine is so peculiar..On the one hand, she seems very obnoxious, proud, even arrogant and quite judgmental. On the other hand, she often seems like she doesn’t give a damn about her wealth and the “status” other people have. She’s kind and sweet. But especially in the beginning she was very uhh snob and very spoiled. She thinks too much about what others may think about looking perfect and so on. However, I think it’s because of how she grew up. As the book kept going, there were moments when I said “ OK girl get off your high horse”..I even agreed with her (she has some valid points about having a clean house and smoking!) But she could put it more delicately. What I didn’t like was her reaction to Matthew’s abuse. No woman should suffer abuse. I don’t care if the dad loses his license or if she loses money or anything at all. Abuse is unacceptable and I really believed that she would kick him to hell, once he did it. She disappointed me a lot then.

But I think her final decision was the right one. When you read it, you’ll know what I mean. When people don’t have clear minds, nothing good comes out of it. Ever. I think Katherine will surprise us in the next book in a very positive way. I surely hope so anyway!

>>Ben is predictable and unpredictable at the same time. And no I’m not insane. He is! Let me explain..His reaction to abuse was predictable..Many victims who have suffered from abuse act the way he does. I’m not going to say any more about that..You should read it!..However, his character is somewhat unpredictable..There were moments when I didn’t believe it was him..Like a lie here and there..Or should I call it omission of the truth? It’s up to you, I guess..I think he hasn’t told much yet..

Regarding all the other characters except Katherine’s employees and maybe Ben’s friends, I have to state they are unlikeable..Meaning they’re infuriating and mean and live in their own bubble..

In conclusion, I liked the book..It’s well written and Maja shows that she has strong potential. I will definitely be waiting for the sequel!! I want to know what these characters will do next, because the ending left me SPEECHLESS.
Good job, Maja!

**JOSIE’S REVIEW**

*4.5 stars*

Let me start by saying I really enjoyed this story. It was written really well.

Katherine Newheart is a woman that has it all. She’s engaged, wealthy, has a good job, wears fabulous clothes and shoes (let me not forget those), but she feels like her life is missing something. Katherine is in control of every aspect of her life but as soon as she meets Benjamin “The Boy” Riley everything changes. Ben is so much more than she thought and as she slowly gets to know him it starts to turn into more. You would think with him being called “The Boy” he would not now what he is doing. Well, you’d be WRONG! Sex with Ben is HOT! I’m talking alley sex hot, shower sex hot…you know what I’m talking about!

“Oh Kate, sweet Kate. Are you going to f**k me? Kate please. Get up here, I need to f**k you! Look at me!!Slow and hard.”

Matthew ended up really shocking me! This humdrum guy turned into this evil creepy guy. I was scared to turn the page to see what he would do next. Matthew wants to control Katherine and he does not and WILL not let her go! He does anything and everything to keep her. He went beyond creepy, stalkerish behavior. This relationship is so sick! He even turns her parents against her. When a child cannot even go to her parents for help, you know something is wrong.

“You just be a good girl and let Benjamin be. Otherwise there’ll be an accident. You WILL satisfy me right now. Be a good fiancé and give me whatever you have. Now get down on your knees and suck my c**k. Shut up and do as you’re told. Just think about Benjamin.”

The more I read, the more I felt for Katherine. All she wanted to do was be with Benjamin but the more she tried the more her control was taken away from her. When she finally makes a choice, is it the right one? How much love does she have for Benjamin?

I was an emotional mess when I finished this book. Just a fair warning some scenes are hard to read. There were so many times that I wanted to jump into my Kindle and beat up Mathew. I wanted Katherine to be strong and have the love she deserved but I felt myself asking at what cost to Katherine?! When I got to the end, I was left gutted and I wanted more but now I have to wait for book 2.

**** I received and ARC for an honest review ****

Wow, Eye Telling was amazing I was hook, and this is what I was not expecting to like it at all, I'll have to say though at the beginning of this book I couldn't stand the main character Katherine, really at first I felt like getting her out of the story and smack her around, but then she grow on me and I end up liking her.Two different people, Two different worlds and one love of a lifetime, I don't even think its enough, Kate and Ben had me in tears, they just made my heart melt down.

Katherine Newheart is engaged to her fiancé, Matthew O'Connor he is a partner in Katherine father law firm that's where they met and being together for five years, Katherine has everything, she is wealthy business owner she is pampered, privileged she has Loving parents and friends, what else can she have that's where Benjamin Riley comes in, now Benjamin is everything from what Katherine will go for, he has tattoos but is very good looking with some amazing eyes, Katherine meets Benjamin one night when she's having car trouble and he decide it to help her out now what was that for, that's when their world turned up side down.

I am keeping this short cause I don't want to give nothing more away, I just want to say Thank You to Author Maja Flak for introducing me to this great story.

Eye Telling is a sinfully erotic story about forbidden love. Katherine is a career woman that is somewhat of a workaholic. She goes through the motions each day not really living life to its fullest potential. Matthew is Katherine's fiance of five years, and yet they do not live together. Matthew is a control freak. Katherine has changed so much of who she is to please Matthew, and doesn't realize it until the boy comes along. He awakens her body and her mind. She had never known what a skilled lover was until she met Ben. But, Ben has secrets, and what if Matthew found out about her hunger for forbidden fruit.

In the beginning I was not happy with Katherine for cheating on Matthew. Later in the story, when Matthew's true personality emerges, I am shocked that she stays with him. Maja does a good job developing her characters. She had me hating the boy, then loving him, loving Matthew, then hating him, and I wanted to give Katherine a swift kick in the ass for most of the story. This story did not have the hook that I am used to. It took a while for me to get into this book. I am glad I stuck it out though, because this story needed to be told. It was very realistic. I know there are couples out there that are very similar to Katherine and Matthew and that is really sad. I hope to see Katherine get her happily ever after in book two.

I'm not the best at writing reviews so forgive me.

Wow what a story. Kate and Ben had me in tears they melted my heart. I felt Kate's anguish on what to do. I felt Ben's love for Kate. It's so hard to write a review without giving the twists away. This novel had me from the start. I couldn't put it down took me just over 5 hours to read. I feel in love with Maja words the way she describes love and shows it in her work is incredible. Everyone should read this love story.

I only have one problem with this story.....BOOK 2 ISN'T READY YET AND I NEED IT.

As much as I liked this book I had a difficult time getting into the story.

I found the initial few chapters of the story quite slow and at times it was quite pretentious (lots of designer name dropping) and for me this made the story difficult to grasp and I did get a little bored.

I just couldn’t warm to Katherine, she was VERY self-absorbed, she’s a 30 year old running her company and a real snob!

Katherine is engaged to Matthew who is a lawyer at her dads firm, they seem ok together but clearly something is missing……Then along comes Ben. Then we have a real love triangle and true colours are shown.

I must admit that it took me a while to warm up to the book. Having said that, I still think the story has something going for it.

Maja does a brilliant job of making you love or hate the characters and empathise with some of the strong characters.

It is an enjoyable book and a book that’s worth checking out, even if it takes awhile to get into.
