Addison and Colin were in love and engaged. Until they were hit by a drunk driver. Colin recovered with minor injuries. Addison suffered from short term amnesia. Super short term amnesia because really all I think she couldnt "remember" was Colin and his bff Jeremy. Everyone else she recalled. ranting and possibly minor spoiling
First and foremost, the feeling that stuck with me through the entire book regarding Addison

From the moment she woke up and didnt remember her fiance, everything she did and said was completely selfish. I felt an insane amount of dislike for her.
Poor Colin was walked all over and his feelings kicked around. By everyone! Not only Addison, but their group of friends. The ONLY friend that offered him any solace was his buddy Jeremy.
Addison immediately meets Pierce when she returns to her home from the hospital. She feels like she can tell him anything because hes unrelated to the situation. She feels like she's being pressured to remember. Well DUH bitch! Of course you fucking are!!
She doesnt give Colin a chance what-so-fucking-ever. This made me despise her. She gives the ring back and goes on about her life. Hanging out with her girlies and Pierce. He knows about the accident and memory loss. They have an attaction towards each other, but they go with the whole 'Were just friends' shit. Ya, fuck you guys.

Meanwhile, all this Pierce shit is being thrown in Colin's face. Seeing them out, and Addison telling him she's friends with him. She hardly ever talks/texts or see's Colin. She never reaches out and tries to get any memory back. She doesnt even try to get to know him. I fucking HATED her for that. Addison was so fucking selfish all the time. They way she would talk about Colin and how she doesnt feel anything.
Never did she ask how he was doing with everything. She totally fucking bailed on him in EVERY way. Ive never wanted a revenge fuck for a guy so bad. He really deserved something.
The friends dont even try to talk sense into her, but they accept Pierce with open arms. I mean he didnt really do anyting right??
So as Colin struggles with moving on in life, accepting that the only way to have Addison in his life is be her friend, he has to then deal with Pierce and Addison I mean really?? I was so freaking pissed. I think i had smoke coming out of my ears.
Anyway, the book ends on a cliffhanger. And to be honest, I dont know if Im going to read the next book. Because the way I feel towards Addison is

And I know if she doesn't end up with the person I want ill be so fucking pissed.

*I received an eARC from the author in exchange for an honest review*

I was really looking forward to reading this after reading the blurb, and it did not disappoint.

Addison wakes up after a sustaining a head injury in a car accident, to be told that she has a fiancé that she doesn’t remember. She doesn’t recognise his name, can’t recall meeting him, or agreeing to marry him and when she comes face to face there’s no recollection. At all.

Colin is relieved when he’s told that his fiancée has come out of her coma, but that’s short lived when he is then told that she has some memory loss and has no idea who he is. After staying at her bedside while she was in the coma, he then has to stay away after her family suggested that she needs a little time to recuperate. When she comes home from the hospital and he visits her, he is shocked at her indifference towards him.

Addison is tired of the expectations placed upon her and whilst out walking she meets Pierce and tells him her problems, thinking that a strangers view on the situation may give her an alternate perspective. What she doesn’t expect is to find that she feels more comfortable with him than anyone else in her life at the moment.

I really felt for both the main characters in this book. The story is told from both Addison and Colin's point of view and this gives you an idea of the impossible situation they find themselves in. I put myself in Addison’s shoes – imagine waking up and all of your family and friends are telling you that you’re engaged to someone that you have no recollection of, and when you meet him, you have no feelings what so ever for. There’s no connection there, nothing at all, yet everyone is telling you that you were about to marry him. Then I put myself in Colin’s shoes – the love of your life has just woken from a coma, and you’re so thankful they’re alive but then you find out they don’t remember you. They want to take each day at a time, but without you. You still love them, your feelings haven’t changed, but they don’t feel the same. Then you have to watch them become close to someone else, and you’re stuck in limbo.

I really wanted to hate Pierce, but I just couldn’t. He doesn’t do anything wrong, he’s a good friend to Addison, he gives her a new outlook on life, he doesn’t judge and listens to her when everyone else is trying to remind her that she had a life with Colin. It's hard for him too, he's got feelings for Addison but is wary of treading on Colin's toes, and he's also trying to protect himself. He doesn't want to leave himself open to disappointment and heart-break in case Addison's feelings for Colin return.

I have so much I want to say about this book, but I don’t want to spoil it for anyone so all I’m going to say is READ IT! I’m still thinking about it days later!

I was extremely excited about reading this book once I read the teasers Lena Nicole had posted. When I was offered a chance to read the ARC I just couldn't say no. With my busy schedule it took me a bit to finish it, but every chance I had I was reading this great book.
The One Left Behind is a fantastic story about Colin and Addison - a couple with everything falling into place for their future. When all of a sudden tragedy strikes and leaves Colin with all of his memories and feelings for Addison, but strips Addison of all memory she ever had of Colin. The story is told in both Addison's and Colin's point of views, which gives the reader a great perspective from both parties. It's a great story about love and trying to live life on your own. Even when everyone is trying to give you advice, sometimes you just need to listen to yourself... or find yourself a Pierce!
There are so many things I want to tell you about this book, but everything I type out I end up deleting because I feel it might give too much away. Since I'm in this dilema, all I can say that I know for sure won't give too much away is that you definitely want to read this book! It's worth every penny and every minute you spend reading it.

Just finished this book...what a roller coaster of emotions. I LOVED it. There are definitely times I wanna back hand Addison. The story is something that probably happens in everyday life, I cant imagine. I love the story from both Addison and Colin's point of views. I cannot wait for the second book to come out. I just hope Addison makes the right choice...which is Colin. ;)

The One Left Behind is a gripping, heart-breaking, and all together beautifully written debut novel. Lena Nicole took an interesting premise and turned it into gorgeous story of love and loss. I could not make myself stop reading it!

Addison and Colin and are happily in love and engaged. When a car accident destroys the life they have. Colin wakes up hurt but worried about Addison. Addison wakes up with no memory of Colin or her life with him. Everyone is telling her how much she loves him but all she see is a stranger when she looks at him.

Colin is completely heartbroken. The women he was planning on spending the rest of his life with now barely wants to be around him. The more Addison is pushed towards Colin the more she wants her space. As Addison is trying to get her life back in walks Pierce, a handsome and debonair stranger. He knows nothing about her baggage and is a breath of fresh air in her life.

I will admit I was a Colin fan from the get go. It was hard for me to see Addison make the choices she made. Pierce was this wonderful man but all I could think about was Colin. My heart broke for him over and over. The fact that Lena Nicole is a writing duo made the book that much richer. While I was a Colin fan I could definitely see why readers could fall in love with him.

The One Left Behind is a beautiful story of lost love, second chances, and new beginnings. Lena Nicole's debut novel completely drew me into their story. The One Left Behind ripped my heart to shreds and left me begging for more!

My heart is breaking. This book is so emotional and gut wrenching. I adored it!

You take the day to day for granted but memories are with us always. One moment, one fateful event changed everything.

Addison and Colin are in love. They are going to be married. They are best friends. Too bad she has NO memory of her life with him at all.
Colin is holding out for the return of her memories but Addison simply wants to try to move forward and have some semblance of "normal". In the middle of this, Pierce enters her life.

Now now don't be haters. You want to be mad at him. When none of this is his fault. Actually it's nobody's fault. Pierce is actually fantastic. He has been hurt in his past but he is such a good man. I was blown away by him. He made wanting to be mad at him impossible. This whole thing is tragic! Plain and simple.

I was all over the place. I was mad at Addison! I was mad at Pierce! I was mad at Colin! I was emotionally wrecked for all parties. This story takes you on an emotional roller coaster of healing and friendship. It makes you look at the pieces and examine each one, question it and say "What would I do? How would I cope?" Amazing and raw, it grabs you at your core.

The ending? Holy cow! I was breathless and kept pushing the kindle screen thinking NOOOOOOOOO! Alas they did it! I am still reeling. I need answers please and thank you.

What - happens - now????

What a great debut novel, congrats and please tell me your working on book two now. Is it done? Huh? I'm just sitting here with my mouth gaping open waiting...

**MAY CONTAIN SPOILERS--DO NOT READ UNLESS YOU'VE READ THE BOOK** I was disappointed very early on in this book when I realized the direction it was heading in. I understand that Addison suffered from Amnesia, but I disliked her character immensely. While she had no memories of Colin, she had enough people surrounding her to tell her of their history and love to not treat Colin as insensitively and cruelly as she did. She gave Colin his ring back too early--she could've kept in her drawer. Inconsiderate. Knowing Colin must be suffering seeing her be affectionate with Pierce in his presence and that of their mutual friends--and then to question his alcohol intake? This after he gave her a thoughtful birthday gift? Very Inconsiderate. To not give Colin the opportunity to spend time with her to try to trigger her memory other than that one time when she was released from the hospital? Extremely inconsiderate. I don't feel Addison is worthy of either of these two men. At this point, there can't be a satisfying ending. Either Pierce gets hurt or Colin does, again. For a long book, it dragged on and on and didn't get exciting until the last 2 pages. Didn't love this one.

I wasn't sure how I was going to rate this. It was a toss between a 3 and a 4.Why? The idea of the story its self was good--great actually. It was hard for me to stay interested. It was very much to the point without giving any thing extra. I walked down the beach in my bare feet. I looked at the stars. I came home. Ok and??? How were you feeling? What were you thinking? etc.
I did notice however as the book went on the writing did get better and was able to keep me going. I am anxious to read the second. Why? Well because i want to know what happens!!! Will she go back to Colin? Will she continue with Pierce. Who will it be? Typical cliffy ending too. You know---the ones where you want to bury your kindle in the back yard after beating it off the concrete relentlessly? Yeah that kind of cliffy.

An outstanding day of reading. This was almost a torturous read because of the "triangle" and the reasons for the situation. Two solid and fabulous male leads make it hard to stand solid in one corner choosing only one. There are some tender and charming moments, along with angst and turmoil, in the telling of this story and this author has handled them exceptionally well. I am excited that I can move on to the next book immediately -- just when I caught my breath and turned the page, a gigantic whopper of a cliffy left me breathless! (Really, readers will be expecting a major roadblock because things were going along way too smoothly!)

OMG! That cliff hanger was unexpected....while reading the book I thought she would remember so many times but when it didn't happen I gave up and started hoping for Charlotte and Colin to get together because she seemed like the perfect fit for him after everything he went through. I can't believe I have to wait until 2014 for the sequel!!!

My rating: 3.5 of 5 ⭐️

After suffering a brain injury in a car accident, it takes Addison a while to wake up, when she does she can remember everything.....except the past six months or so.....which would include meeting, dating and becoming engaged to Colin. She has no clue who he is, let alone have feelings for him. But everyone is pushing her to remember him.

Colin, who was also injured in the accident, came away with minor injuries, and cannot believe that the love of his life now looks at him as if he is a stranger. Trying to trigger her into remembering by talking about shared memories has only alienated her more, and for now he is going to try an keep his distance, frustrating as it may be.

Having closed herself off from the pressure from friends and family, Addison welcomes the friendship of Pierce, someone who has no connection to her from before the accident. He treats her like a normal person and has no other expectations than for her to be herself. Addison does feel guilty over having hurt Colin and she does her best to keep him in her life as a friend, but that is a difficult transition for Colin to make and one he is not quite ready to give in to yet.

As Pierce and Addison get closer and time does not seem to help in restoring Addison's memory, it seems time for life to move on, both for Addison, and for Colin, but not necessarily in the same direction......

******

A very provocative storyline, with interesting points of view.

The characters were portrayed in a very personable and likeable way and it helped to have both Addison and Colin's POV to draw from, even when they at times appeared to be at opposite sides of the spectrum. Both were victims in this story, and no one was a villain.

There was definite character growth visible for Addison and Pierce was the catalyst for that. He drew a lot out of her, challenged her in ways that forced her to demand more of herself than she ever had before. Whereas the implication is that Colin was not that welcoming of the changes in Addison, he liked her fine the way she was.

The writing was well done, obviously clever and sound. The cover is phenomenal and reminds me of Rodin's "Le Penseur" (The Thinker). I liked the content, the message of the book, even though it might have been a bit repetitive in places. It isn't a book full of action and so unless a whole lot of different or new things happen, it threatens to become a tad drawn out. I guess I was waiting for some kind of build up towards something......and that something finally happened, but by that time ended up a bit of an out-of-the-blue cliffhanger, virtually on the last page of the book.

Having said all that......it doesn't take away that there is a good story here, an interesting concept, well-thought out and intelligent writing, but what would do it a world of good would be a bit more pizazz from these talented writers (there are two). Give us a bit of fire, a little passion, and I'm not referring to sex (there is sex in the book!!)......a little more UMPHF!!!! You obviously have it...now let it all hang out!!

I am very curious to read the next instalment, and I hope it comes with a resolution........ I DO NOT LIKE CLIFFHANGERS!!! LOL

✨A clever, insightful, poignant first novel!✨

Going into this book, I knew I would have a hard time with it. Not because it sounded bad. Quite the opposite actually. This book sounded amazing but I knew when it came to the subject matter it would strike a chord with me. In the end, this book took me on the emotional roller coaster I was expecting and then some.

After my best friend was in a car accident that left her in the hospital with a severe brain injury, there were several moments that I worried how life would be different when things got back to normal. Little did I know that at the time, things would never get back to normal, we just had to find and create ourselves a new normal. Having this life experience, I felt like I could really connect with all of the characters in The One Left Behind. Like all the characters involved in this book, the normal they were used to, the normal in which Addison and Colin were engaged and ready to be married, a normal in which a random group of people became a big group of friends because of two people, well, that normal just didn’t exist anymore.

This story crumbled my heart in so many ways. I have never been so conflicted over characters and their relationship before. I can usually go into a story picking out the guy I want to root for and then smiling like I just won a trophy at the end of the book when the MC ends up with that guy. For this story, I went through so many phases. There were several phases in which I wanted to hug Colin. The guy was obviously heartbroken considering he fiance didn’t remember him. There were probably even more instances that I was insanely irritated with Addison for hurting Colin over and over again. And then there were moments where I felt so guilty because I remembered that it is not her fault she can’t remember and she is just living her life the best way she could. There were moments I swooned for Colin and probably and equal amount of moments in which I swooned for Pierce. So now that I am finished with this book, you can probably understand why I still don’t know where my feelings are with the whole thing.

I may not be able to tell you exactly how I feel about the characters and how the story ended up but I can tell you this: this book is definitely worth the read because for every moment that will hurt your heart and piss you off, there are even more moments you will smile. You will be cheering both Addison and Colin on as they move forward with their life. You will smile when funny things happen with Addison and Colin’s friends because at some point in the story, it’s like they become your friends too. And maybe you will read this book and your response will be totally different from mine. Maybe you will be Team Colin or Team Pierce, or maybe you will even be Team Addison but I really think you need to read this to decide for yourself.

I know this review is really just a jumbled mess of words but I think that’s maybe because after reading this book, my thoughts and feelings for all things The One Left Behind are a jumbled mess too. I don’t know how I feel about Colin, or Pierce, or Addison but I do know that overall, I loved this book. I loved that it made me feel everything that was good, bad, ugly, and everywhere else in between. It’s in your best interest to give this one a read so you can perhaps decide for yourself. And also, because it’s pretty amazing!

ARC provided by the author in return for my honest review

This wasn't an easy read for me and this was not because I didn’t like it, far from it, but it drove every emotion I had into a frantic whirlpool. I was so wrung out by the end of it I needed a lie down!

There are three main characters, and no it is not a ménage a trois, who are Addison, Colin and Pierce. Colin and Addison are engaged to be married but one night are involved in a car accident which leaves Addison with partial memory loss – the memories of Colin. She doesn't know who he is until her family and friends fill in the gaps for her. She feels nothing and this leaves Colin feeling utterly bereft and lost. They both decide to be friends until Addison gets her memory back but then the worry is that she may not.

It is whilst Addison is trying to figure out what she needs to do and how to handle her situation that she meets Pierce on the beach one evening. He is so easy to talk to and she feels herself drawn to him. Hence a budding romance commences. And it is that part that had me being torn apart. How could she do this whilst Colin, the most adorable gorgeous man has to stand by and watch the love of his life move on with her life with another? I tried not to like Pierce and I wanted to tell him to take a hike but then as I read further in, how could I not like him? What had he done wrong? Nothing. Oh the angst and turmoil!

I kept pushing through each chapter thinking that this will be the part where she will remember and everything will be brought to a head, but then who would she choose? However the authors were clever, keeping the momentum and the tension growing until you think is this ever going to be fixed?

To say any further would give the game away and I need to warn you now this is book one of the series, so take from that what you think.

This was an emotion packed book and one you need to delve into but be prepared to have your heart squeezed and your head mashed. A wonderful debut by Lena Nicole.

I had the great pleasure of being asked to read and review this story. Boy, I am so very happy I did this. These writers sure know how to put you smack dab right into this storyline. This review contains spoilers.

Accidents, heartaches, new love, great friends, emotional parents, laughter, lots of surprises and a wedding.

The story begins with Addison and her fiancé’ Colin. These two are involved in a serious car accident caused by a drunk driver. Addison wakes up realizing she is in the hospital where she works. She’s told she had severe brain trauma. She recalls everyone in her life except for her fiancé’’ Colin.

Each chapter goes back and forth with what Addison is going through and then what Colin is going through. Very well put and flows very smoothly.

In the weeks of her recovery, Addison is on the beach and meets a wonderful man named Pierce. There is surely a spark going on between these two people and Addison becomes very comfortable in talking to Pierce about everything.

Colin and Addison have a great group of friends which get together often and she invites Pierce to one of the get together where Colin is also there. Colin now has to deal with the mixed emotions of his fiancé getting close to another man. I loved reading all the amazing adventures this group of friends go through, you feel as though you are 100% at these gatherings with them.

You can totally feel Colin’s pain throughout the entire story it’s told so well. You can’t help but love this guy with everything that’s happening around him. How does one cope with being so much in love, planning on spending the rest of your life with someone and suddenly in a split second it’s all gone?

Addison moves on with her life and falls hard for Pierce. They have a very romantic story line and you can’t help but fall in love with Pierce for all the romantic gestures he does for Addison and their love for each other.

Will there be a happy ever after……..

This is an amazing story and one you cannot miss out on reading. Every character in the book you can’t help but loving them all. Thanks authors and Brandee’s Book Endings for the chance to read this.

I first learned of The One Left Behind when a friend recommended it to me. I started to read it right after I purchased it, but after I reading a few chapters I knew I wasn't ready to have my heart ripped out of my chest just yet, (sometimes you have to prepare yourself for stories like that) so I held off. When this blog tour came along, I was ready to finish it. I'd just finished a few light-hearted books and was ready to tackle the heavy. And it was just that.

The One Left Behind was told in dual perspectives which I enjoyed a lot. And while is told in dual perspectives, and the synopsis led me to believe that it would be more of Colin's story about what happened, I read it as though it was more of Addison's story. As she was creating a new life for herself, I got to see all of the new experiences she was having as she tried to move on with her life after her tragic accident.

My heart broke for Colin as he began to realize that his life was changed forever because of Addison's memory loss. His memories of their life together and the love that they shared, followed by his downward spiral is difficult to read because you begin to realize that he really was losing the love of life. This isn't something that I even want to imagine experiencing. I rooted for him as he tried to make sense of it all.

As I read, I continued to wonder when was Addison going to get her memories back or even if she would ever get her memory back. Would it come back in glimpses, would they seem like echoes? What was going to be the trigger? No spoilers here, but it was a doozy that's for sure, and it will leave readers thinking, "Did that just happen?" Oh yes and did! And you have to read the next book to learn what happened next. Most times I would be put off when I story ends with a cliff-hanger, but I knew beforehand (thanks to the same friend who recommended the book), so I didn't mind so much. Plus, it just builds the suspense for the next book.

Even through the heartache and heartbreak, I enjoyed reading The One Left Behind and look forward to reading what will happen next for Colin and Addison.

I just finished The One Left Behind and I really liked it. It was such a sweet compelling story and trust me, it will pull your heart strings. This story is about Addison and Colin. They are at a pivotal stage in their life, engaged and she is moving in with him. They are in a car wreck and Colin walks away with bumps and bruises while Addison wakes up from a come and has short term memory loss. She remembers everything but Colin. Colin is devastated but is trying really hard to give her space. With separation comes heartache for Colin more so than Addison but she needs this to figure out their relationship. For her he is a stranger and she needs time. Here is where she meets Pierce. He is someone that is outside of their group but is there for Addison as a friend. Things progress between them quickly causing Colin to be bitter. Will Colin be able to move on? Will Addison’s memory come back? You will have to read and see.

I really liked the story. I loved how it was in both point of views so you could really tell how they were feeling and it was easily followed when going back and forth. I really liked Colin. He was such a sweetheart and he is so strong for wanting to stick by Addison even though she needed her space. He really honestly tried and I felt his pain and heartache and I just wanted things to go his way so he wouldn’t be so mad and hurt. I liked Addison, and I understand that this situation was very hard for her but for me I thought at times that she easily dismissed Colin. That might just be me though. I wanted to hate Pierce but he is actually a good guy that fell in love with her when he was really trying to just be her friend.

It really is a love triangle for some more than others in this story and you will honestly feel bad for what is taking place and what is to come. Even though I knew how things would end up, I would still shocked and upset. It definitely pulled me in from the very beginning and I cannot wait to see what happens next.

I was given this as an ARC to read and review. This never reflects on my reviews, I say it as it is and how I personally feel about what I have just read. Reviewers should be honest, and if any critical avenues about a book, should be explained and not an attack, I hope that is how I always approach my books reviews, now that being said........

I just wish I could give this book more then 5 stars!

I thoroughly enjoyed this read and was glued to my Kindle from start to finish with the exception of a cup of tea break and making a meal for my family!

Addison is engaged to Colin, and ready to move out of her condo to his when they are both involved in an accident. Colin makes it with cuts and bruises but Addison is left with no memory of being with Colin, her friends and many other things. The hope for it returning was awaited for by Colin, meanwhile, Colin is finding this so difficult to cope with, seeing Addison, having to be 'just friends' with her. She inturn finds it hard to be around him as obviously she has no feelings for him and feels she is 'expected' to behave in certain ways. But she has to move on. So its decided with several talks to her Father and her friends that maybe she should just live in the 'now'. Meanwhile, she meets Pierce. She doesn't want to get involved with him, and he with her as he knows she has enough to contend with, but the inevitable happens, so now we have:
Colin....who was her fiance
Pierce...who is he new friend and knows her as now and not 'then'
Addison... who just wants to move on as she can't remember her past so no option.

This equals:
Colin in turmoil
Pierce in love
Addison confused.

Her memory doesn't come back until.........

You will have to read this fantastic book to find out!

Let me just start by saying I am beyond impressed at this début, Lena Nicole has come onto the self published scene with professionalism and an impressive novel. The cover is absolutely breath-taking and the story polished to perfection.

Matters of the heart alway weigh heavily on me, and The One Left Behind ripped my heart wide open. This is the most soul crushing love triangle EVER! With love there is no right or wrong, black or white and that is what left me completely divided. There is no “bad guy” in this triangle, no one to hate, just a shitty hand of fate to blame.

This book had me emotionally, all over the place. Just when I though I was going to curl up in the fetal position and bawl, Lena Nicole would break the emotional tension with some comedy and have me laughing out loud.

Addison is probably the person I wanted to blame, but really my heart broke for her. She is too likable to hate, damn her!

Pierce was so perfect, charming, handsome, funny, everything we want to swoon over. Pierce is the new guy so of course we get to see all of his perfection.

Colin is the “old” guy who Addison can not remember, we don’t often see him at his best as he tries to heal his shattered heart. My heart BROKE for Colin, he had to grieve for the Fiance that was physically right in front of him.

The anguish I felt for Colin, kept me from allowing myself from completely love Peirce.

I still do not know where I want the second book to take me, whatever the outcome I will still be sad for “The one Left Behind”.

You think the Titanic, Beaches and The Notebook left you an emotional mess, Check out this Amazing Debut Novel.

Holly Cow!!! I don’t even know how to review this book without giving away too much!!! I will try my best not to ruin it for you so you are just as surprised as I was when I was reading it. One thing I will say is at the ending I got chills and my mouth dropped right open! I totally had a WTF moment!

Addison was sweet, kind and just an all around great person to have someone like this who has everything falling into place for her and then have her life turned upside down by an accident just broke my heart. To wake up and not remember certain parts of your life I just couldn’t imagine how she felt.

Colin, Addison’s fiance before the accident someone who also had everything falling into place for him didn’t expect his life to be turned upside down when he remembers everything but his fiance doesn’t remember him at all. He broke my heart because he was falling apart and was turning into a different person. He went through a dark stage and that is all Addison could see.

Pierce, holly hottness! How can you not like him! He is sexy as sin!! He is the man you want to take home to your parents because he is so repectful. But when he opens the door for you he slaps you on your butt! He is the best of both worlds. He is a perfect boyfriend!

Read this story and you will be so torn on who to root for. Both boys in this book will tug at your heart strings and it makes it so hard to just pick who should be with Addison in the end. I will be honest I finished the book and I still can’t decide who I want her to pick!! I am dying for book 2 to be released! I give this book 4.5 stars!!!

Have you ever thought what it would be like to wake up and not know your significant other? Or to have your significant other not know you? This book was amazing and so emotional, I loved it. Addison and Colin have a wonderful relationship, just newly engaged, they are a perfect match, until they aren’t. Addison and Colin get into an accident and Addison gets a form of amnesia. She can’t remember anything about Colin.

I felt for Colin and Addison. He wants her so badly to remember him, but she just can’t and when she asks him for time and not to be pushed, he graciously gives it to her. Enter Pierce. I wanted to not like him, but he is just so amazing and you can feel the instant connection he and Addison have. He is a stranger, someone who doesn’t know her past and isn’t pushing her to remember. He gives her a kind of freedom from the pressure. I can see why she ends up falling for him. I loved that he got her to do things that she was afraid of and pushed her out of her comfort zone.

But at the same time I was torn, poor Colin has a horrible time with this and even starts to become reckless in his choices. When he finally starts to realize that he and Addison will never be what they once were, he settles for becoming her friend and tries to move on with his life too. Even though he still hopes for her to remember him.

But what would happen if she did remember? How could her heart choose between her past and her future? This book was emotional! If you are into emotional reads with drama and romance, this read is for you. I can’t wait to see what happens to this threesome in book two.

Review of The One Left Behind by Lena Nicole

Review done for Hooked on Books

3 ½ out of 5 stars

Addison has lost her memory due to being in an accident, in which she and her fiancé, Colin, were hit by a drunk driver.

She doesn’t have any memory of Colin.

Colin does everything he can to try to remind Addison of their love and life together. Unfortunately Addison is not that interested once she meets Pierce.

The book tells the story of the development of Addison and Pierce’s relationship. The author ends the book with a huge cliffhanger.

I have never hated the lead female character as much as I hate Addison. She is a selfish, cruel witch. She didn’t care about Colin at all. As soon as she was released from the hospital she meets good-looking Pierce and that is it for Colin.

She didn’t care about anyone but herself. She didn’t give herself a chance with Colin. She jumped right into a relationship with Pierce. I don’t know how many times I had to turn off my phone and stop reading because I could not believe how dense and cruel Addison was.

And Pierce is no better. He knew her story, that she was engaged and trying to get her memory back, but he still pursued her.

I felt so sorry for Colin. He thought he found the love of his life.

The book was well written but I hated the story line. If the author wanted us to like Addison and Pierce’s story then she did a good job. But if she was trying to make us feel sorry and like Addison, then that definitely did not happen.

If you like a story with lots of drama and a frustrating love-triangle then this might be one book for you.

"I need to take this sh***y situation and turn it into something I can be proud of."

The premise of this book interested me. I loved experiencing 'The Vow', both the book and the movie, so I was thrilled to get the opportunity to read a book along the same story line. However, this turned out to be a difficult read for me. After the first few chapters, I was rooting for Colin and Addison. Then, I was left wanting. The way the situation played out just exasperated me. I disagreed with the characters' choices in some places and just wanted them to try harder in others. Because of this, I had a difficult time connecting with the characters throughout. I didn't understand why Addison didn't make more of an effort to get to know Colin after losing her memory. I was really upset that instead of rebuilding a good relationship, she went to work building a new relationship, all the while causing hurt for Colin. I liked Colin's character for the most part, but at times he also made choices I didn't agree with. Why not work harder to encourage Addison to give him a chance? And then there's Pierce. He was such a sweet guy, but I didn't feel like I was allowed to like him because I was set up to root for Colin and Addison... There was quite a bit of repetition within the story making it longer than it needed to be. However, the ending threw me for a loop that I was NOT expecting, drawing me back in and making me wonder...Just what will happen next?

what a truly heartfelt and beautiful story., this is serious one story that will take you on one hell of a journey that you will not ever see coming, I have to admit that at times in the beginning I was very upset with the way Addison handle things with Colin, and felt that she did not give him a chance. I felt that before he even had a chance to plead his case that her mind was made up based on the conversation she had with the guy she meet on the beach the first day home from the hospital about always living for the future and never wait around for the paste.. which I felt that she spent more time getting to know Pierce and not as much time with anyone else special Colin, & being that they shared friends I don't think they helped much in this situation other then just pacifying her and for that I felt that Colin got the short end of the stick cause everyone always seem to tell him to give her time and space, which he was damn if he did and damn if he didn't ... but then again the situation which they are in was never an easy one and doesn't have a right or wrong way .. it just is.. but by the middle of the story I started to see things a bit different.. This story has you feeling everyone's emotions from the 1st page to the last page.. It is a story that will capture your heart and pull at you feelings and is one amazing and beautiful read.. I must definitely recommend this book .. A MUST READ FOR SURE <3

I honestly did not know what to expect when I started reading The One Left Behind. What I got was an absolutely heart wrenching roller coaster of a story. Lena Nicole did such an amazing job with Addison and Colin’s story that I could not put it down. From being to end it captivated me and made me want more. I had to find out what would become of them.

When driving home one night, Colin has the most important thing in his life ripped away from him by a drunk driver. Although Addison was still alive, she did not remember him or their life together. And as much as he would like to push her into remembering him and their life, he knows if he does then he will push her completely away. So what is the only option he has but to try to be her friend and hope that her memory will return and he will not lose the love of his life.

Addison remembers her family, friends, her job, but the one thing she can’t remember is the man that everyone says is her fiancé Colin. But when she meets a sexy stranger one day at the beach and he lets her get everything out without being involved in the situation. The only thing is, she begins to have feeling for this man and decides to start dating him and falls in love with him. But where does this leave Colin?

Now the one thing I will say is this is the first book, so be aware you will get a cliff hanger.

First off, I have to comment on how impressed I was by Lena Nicole's over all writing for their debut novel. I feel like so many authors are quick to publish and present an imperfect book to us readers. This is far from the case with this novel! While I do wish there was a bit more character depth regarding secondary characters, I really enjoyed what was presented in this book! So bravo Lena Nicole!!

As for the book, I was hooked from the beginning! There were so many times I kept thinking Addison would regain her memory and when it didn't happen I really started pulling for Colin and Charlotte! I went through emotional phases of loving, wanting to slap, and hating all three main characters (Addison, Pierce, and Colin) at various point throughout the novel. While I loved the story line of Addison and Pierce falling for each other, I did wish Addison would have fought for her memory a bit more.

I cannot wait for the second book! I'm dying to know the outcome and am still hoping for Colin and Charlotte to get together. To me, Pierce and Addison belong together regardless and I hope that happens all while Colin finds love again himself! I also hope Megan and Jeremy get their own book!!!

I rate this book a 4.5.
Addison and Colin love each other and are soon to be married, until one fated day a car accident changes both their lives. Addison wakes up, unable to remember her life or love for Colin. Colin is set out to help her remember, but when Addison meets Pierce 'Mr. Sex On Legs' everything takes an unexpected turn.
Will Addison remember? Will Colin let her forget?

This story is a heart-warming, well written journey into the lives of lovable characters. A great read, which will have you rushing out to get the next book. Lena Nicole has delivered a must read which will have the characters leaving a lasting impression on your heart.
I can't wait to read book 2
