Pat Parker was an American poet and activist. Both her poetry and her activism drew from her experiences as an African-American lesbian feminist. Her poetry spoke about her tough childhood growing up in poverty, dealing with sexual assault, and the murder of a sister.
I really felt these poems ♥️. They make you feel it. They read fresh today though published in the 70s, though there are some references which place it in that time. And you can feel a restless buzz under it all. A tumultuous time, lots of challenging things and change in the air... There are a few photographs throughout. Great!
