Pirates on the open seas with no limits other than the endless horizon . . . sailing on ships, no land in sight for months at a time . . . these wild men have only each other to satisfy their beastly desires. This brand-new, swashbuckling collection of erotic stories will take you back in time to see pirates as you’ve never imagined them. "Captain" Jack Hart is an experienced seaman who has ridden wild waves worldwide. This is his first collection of erotic stories from his travels.
I purchased this multiple author anthology in October 2009 and read four of it's eighteen stories so far....
The Serpent by John Simpson This was my first story by this author about pirates in 1665 going to the pirate stronghold of Tortuga. What the men get up to when they leave the ship is the focus of this story, including the captain. Some terms are defined in particular "cabin boy" and "matelot". Captain's privilege / first time
Blow the Man Down by Zavo My first story by this author and my first pirate story by anyone. Zavo is very descriptive about what happens to the other ship's crew and captain when they are captured by pirates. He also gives a scenario of what can happen to pirates when they go to shore on uncharted lands in the West Indies area.
Bearded by Shane Allison When I read the lntroduction of this anthology and learned there are some modern pirate stories in addition to all the historical / traditional ones. This is a modern story with a traditional pirate > an eye patch, a hook for a hand, and scraggly hair, with an apartment full of stolen still tagged merchandise.
Matelotage by Erastes Enjoyed this pirate story by this first time author for me. Others have raved about Erastes who is known for his historical fiction. I was introduced to some more new pirate vocabulary in this story about the marooning of the captain's cabin boy. I learned what a terrible fate it is to maroon someone on a deserted island. Betrayal Heartbroken captain
As a female reader ersonally I don't mind the male-on-male scenes. As a female reader personally I don't mind the male-on-male scenes. On the contrary, the more testosterone, the merrier ;-o And some of these stories had tons of testosterone (especially the first one). Some unusual themes are presented here: rape fantasies, captivity narratives, (physical) punishment for punishment's sake, sex with minors, etc. These themes would have been most "politically incorrect" in a heterosexual setting. The saving grace of the gay point of view is that the (female) reader needs no excuses to justify being drawn into these taboo settings and scenarios, and there are no qualms about betraying one's feminist beliefs.
Different edition for this one, part of the erotic spiral. This would fit nicely into the "out of my comfort zone" reading challenge I've joined... I'd never read stories so specifically targetting a homosexual male audience. So it was an interesting bit of sight-seeing, I suppose, but I had no great desire to extend my stay.
