There is so much going on in this one. High society, knight training, friendships...

A storytelling element I've seen in a number of manga and light novels--now including this one--is the invincible power of rumor. Doesn't matter if there's any substantiation for it, or any truth behind it, the very fact that a rumor is spreading about someone can be enough to sink them socially. I don't get it. Maybe that works in junior high, especially if it's rumors about someone who was on track to be socially ostracized in the first place, but among adults? (Well, I saw Oppenheimer yesterday, and in some ways it isn't that different from what's going on here, so maybe my skepticism is unwarranted.)

I rather like how Aristia has realized that gaining a social footing is just as important to her future success as becoming the heir to house Monique through her knight's training. The way she's going about it feels rather contrived, and I have a hard time imagining that her new "friends" wouldn't feel that way, too. There are four of them, and so far not a single one has been given the slightest characterization. I don't remember any of their names, nor the name of the social rival on the cover of this book.

Aristia's also making fashion innovations like an isekai heroine, using information she had before her time loop, which... eh. Some of this is feeling more than a little repetitive from other stories of its type, and I've barely scratched the surface of shoujo light novels.

The way seems to have been cleared for Aristia's HEA--whatever it might amount to--barely halfway through the series, and seeing a winner win over and over with only token resistance from very weak opponents isn't very interesting to see in a story. There's always the possibility of a shoujo heroine nadir in the next few volumes, so there's something to look out for.

I still love the art. It's expressive, and so prettily ornamental and colorful. It shines even as the storytelling is losing some of the luster it had early on.

I really enjoyed this volume! All of the stakes are slowly rising and the threads binding Tia to her fate are tightening despite her best efforts.

As they age friendships between Tia, Allendis, and Carsein are only becoming more difficult. She obviously cares for both of them and they are more aware than ever of each other as romantic rivals. But this volume also continues the Crown Prince’s ascent as a third romantic interest. While he has treated Tia with little but disdain in both timelines this Prince is slowly being won over despite himself. After his sojourn to the Monique country home last volume to check on Tia he just can’t help himself in this volume. And while they remain ever so awkward around each other he has begun to care so much more that even his father the Emperor takes notice.

With romantic rivals surrounding her and political factions attempting to slander Tia’s character and create a wedge in the Imperial faction, and the mystery of her mother’s life and death ever on her mind we really get into it in volume 5. I’m excited for what volume six reveals!

Ugh…am I going to have to own these as well??

Allen…showing a bad side here. He was a promising friend/love interest, but he’s taken a turn toward Yandere territory, and possibly threatening her father. He likes Tia to the point that he may be doing something bad very shortly…

Meanwhile both guys have advanced in their respective careers earlier than before, inspired by their feelings for Tia. I really wonder in their previous lives if there was any intersection between the three. How sad that she could have been happy with one of them - though maybe not because she was a completely different person.

Unfortunately Tia scuttles the plan to dissolve the betrothal due to her own competence catching the eye of the emperor 😓 Here is House Rass openly wanting to add her to their family, while Allen is plotting to make her his. And now she’s making allies in society…hmm. Still some events seem to be skipping around. I’d like to see the true girl of prophecy show up.

That idea backfired. They nearly had the emperor agreeing to let Tia go and then she saves the the day with the fire. The prince also seems to be torn here and warming up to her far more in the previous life they led together, though is it enough to stop the chain of events when the other girl arrives in their world? Lots of mixed signals, though Tia seems perfectly happy to be friendly with everyone and prefer to be tied to none of them. Not that the boys all agree as it seems everyone is taking an interest in her - for better or for worse.

I wasn’t sure if I would finish this, after finding out prince is the Ml. But after reading “your highness please don’t kill me again, I think I might understand the authors direction a bit more. I still don’t think the characters are as strong for me, but I’ll wait for it to progress more, before forming a final opinion.

Breath of fresh air...

I feel like for the first time reading this series I didn't have trouble breathing. Finally Tia is getting stable footing and the confidence to overcome her fate. The events unfolding in this volume filled me with hope for her future.

Good storyline. Hope a certain green admirer doesn't go down the dark path...yikes...and when is the bloody prophecy gonna arrive already?! There - no spoilers but hopefully enough to make the reader have fun with volumes 1 to 5 ;-)

Great

And the plot thickens… Love the storyline, love how unpredictable it is and love how the heroine is taking charge of her own life. I can’t wait for the next volume!

I was kicking my feet and giggling the whole time. All I will say is lady guasha or Genoa or whatever her name is. She’s such a snake. Total bad vibes. But I’m glad all my bbys are okay.

The ending of this made my heart hurt for Carsein. I can already tell how this is going to end but it doesn’t make me any less sad for those left behind.

In seeking to become her father’s heir, Tia assumes duties with the knights, and she begins squiring and taking on the title Dame Monique when she’s on duty. Later, one of Tia’s memories of a fateful day return to her, and she realizes a catastrophe is about to occur in the king’s private gardens. Averting it may bring her back under the gaze of the royals she is hoping to escape, but letting disaster strike again may mean lose a piece of her own family legacy as well. And there’s still so much about her mother she doesn’t know, but even Prince Ruve seems to have more answers than Tia!

It's good to see Tia striking out on her own as a knight and building up some skills outside of her house and out of the shadow of Sein and Allendis for a moment, but as soon as she gets a little bit of freedom, something sucks her right back into her fate as the promised empress. The story has hinted off and on about this mystery with her mother, so this curve ball of Ruve knowing more than Tia makes the mystery that much more tantalizing and will definitely keep readers on the hook for more.

Poco a poco vamos viendo cómo Tia encaja su nueva realidad como escudera para convertirse en la heredera de la familia y evitar su futuro como emperatriz.

Sin embargo suceden algunas cosas que hacen que deba actuar como era antaño.
