Written near the end of a long and fruitful ministry, former Australian missionary Alfred Stanway said, ‘The aim of this book is to get people to pray. I want those who have stopped to start again; those who have never started to begin, and those who pray to persevere.’
A marvellous book about prayer. Reflects piety from another generation, but that's not a criticism. I wish I shared this man's piety. Also of church-history interest - a former CMS/Aus missionary bishop to Africa, who later headed up Trinity Episcopal School in Philadelphia as its foundation principal.
