The books I own may have been written up to eighteen years before I was born, yet despite this, Pam Ayres was my favourite childhood poet and that still very much remains! Witty, relatable and full of personality, I just love her verses and always will! The works of Pam Ayres will always have a very special place on my shelf. 'Some More Of Me Poetry' is one of my favourite books of hers. You just can't beat this kind of classic, lighthearted humour! I have always reached out to this book when in need of cheering up :)

My Mother had a Flit Gun,
It was not devoid of charm,
A bit of Flit,
Shot out of it,
The rest shot up her arm.

It's all just too real and funny. Felt like notes and sketches from a friend. Ended up giving it away as a belated Christmas present to one such friend.

Funny, takes me back in times of 1970s England. Loved it!

This is the second collection of Ayers' funny verses. This is the sort of poetry I like. It rhymes, it doesn't take itself too seriously and I went away with a big smile on my face after each reading. The accompanying sketches were great too, lots of detail and worth a special look for an extra laugh.

I think that this is the one that I had as a child of it’s the one with Dolly on the Dust Cart in it. I loved this book so much and would love to have it now. Can anyone can confirm that this is the one that I’m thinking of l?

A funny book of silly English poetry, doesn't take itself seriously which was nice for a road trip and the beach.

Could've done without the one from the Black and White Minstrel Show, but I did check out more of her poetry after.

Mostly still funny. Published 1976 so showing its age. I suppose she was a model for Victoria Wood. Though Wood was better in every way.
