Once a god. Now a target.

Darius awakes confused, soaked in the blood of slain foes he doesn't recall. Someone stole his strength, powers, memories, and all that remains are his ominous killing instincts that tell of a troubled history.

He's hunted by the gods of the human empire and is soon fleeing with only his bonded panther and a reluctant woman to help him escape and piece together his forgotten past. And what he learns only confuses him more.

Not only did he once walk amongst the gods that now hound him, but they feared him.

Why? No one will say, but he soon discovers that, despite their godlike powers, he and they are mortal, and to defeat him they summoned a figure from legend—one that's now coming to finish what began with his memories.

Now weakened, Darius won't survive unless he becomes the man they feared again and reclaims the powers that once earned him the title he's forgotten…

The Slayer of Gods.

Wow. This series was an intense read. I’ll be honest here and admit that I am not an avid reader of high fantasy, but I am very glad I got a chance to read this particular set of books.

One of the best parts of this series is the world-building. The author has done a fantastic job creating the mood, settings, and overall feel of Margalvia, Toria, and the many places the characters travel. Details were plentiful, but not overwhelming and I got a Lord of the Rings-esque feeling while reading this, which is not a bad thing.

I also wanted to point out the characters were extremely well done. I loved Darius. There is so much to his character and so many layers that I was actually hungry to find out more about him and his history. Although he is clearly a warrior, there is a softness to him as well, and seeing his internal and external battles over the course of 4 books really brought forth his humanity, and humility. Honestly, I wasn’t the biggest fan of his ‘relationship’ with Lex (I’m not the biggest fan of her in general), but I appreciate that there needed to be something more than just the fighting, bloodshed and political backstabbing.

Overall, I think this series was very well done. The author has clearly put a lot of thought and effort into these books and it shows in the intricacies of the plot, the depth of the characters, and the details of the world.

Thank you Voracious Readers and Andy Blinston for my copy! I received an ARC of this series and am voluntarily leaving a review. All above thoughts and opinions are my own.

I thoroughly enjoyed this series with all the twists and turns, never quite knowing whether our hero would survive. Glad I got the boxed set so able to read without interruption
