Fantasy-Humour #3

The Halfshaft Games

Rate this book
The Games have commenced. A contest of strength, of courage, of the sheer will to survive, all for the amusement of the bloodthirsty masses at home. And only two people will make it out of the brooding forest alive.

As a brutal troll pursues a brace of dwarfs, and the Queen of the Amazons hunts down elves and witches, Halfshaft the befuddled wizard runs for his life. His only companion is Cherry, his self-obsessed, bikini-clad team-mate. Together, they attempt to survive against everything the Games can throw at them. And to resist the urge to throttle each other in the meantime.

Colourful humorous fantasy/parody by the author of "Slave-Girls and Amazons".

Please note that this book contains humour which is unsuitable for children.

Humerous third helping of the 'Halfshaft' trilogy, inspired this time round by The Hunger Games, Battle Royale & Big Brother. Only rated it three stars as it missed the presence of Rod & Thane (as well as the myriad of cameo characters of the first two books), & whilst Takina is present, she spends most of the book away from the story. The first 2 books worked so well because of the main character ensemble, and this outing felt like a band making a comeback with only two original members. Also succeeded in making me even more terrified of clowns than even I felt possible!

A very enjoyable humorous read. Cantankerous old Halfshaft is tricked into joining The Games, which is a fight to the death, but not if halfshaft can help it.
He is aided by Cherry a voluptuous bikini clad narcissus.
Dwarves, Trolls, Amazon women and witches are thrown into the mix as well.
