HOT COWBOY ALERT!

Tempting The Cowboy is the first book in the Paint River Ranch series, and my first book by Elizabeth Otto.

There wasn’t a thing I didn’t like about this book. What with 3 cowboy brothers, Cole, Tucker and Levi (in the Marines right now), A cute 4 year old called Birdie, and a kick-ass heroine called Rylan, it was the perfect ‘curl up and read until the end’ book for my bank holiday weekend.

”So you ride?” ... “Western saddle, I hope?”
“Yeah, but truthfully, I prefer bareback.”

He was gorgeous. It hurt the deepest pit of her stomach, made her chest hurt and her centre ache, all with one glance.

This promises to be another great series from the Entangled ‘stable’ I definitely wasn’t suffering from saddle-sore at the end that’s for sure! I am looking forward to seeing Tucker get his story next in One Night With The Cowboy.

With today's abundant selection of romance reads, Tempting the Cowboy is a gem in a crowded market. Otto's writing is alive and her talent to paint a picture with words is truly admirable. The story is packed with vivid characters, sassy humor, and hot sex. And have your tissues ready because you're likely going to shed a few tears. Did I mention the hot sex? Seriously, steamy.I didn't know I had a thing for cowboys until I met Cole Haywood. Wait til you see what he can do on a horse. Definitely an author to watch.

I've been obsessing over cowboys for the past couple of days for some unknown reason....And I am so glad that I came across this read in my craving. This was adorable in all the traditional romantic ways – with a cute and sexy romance right to the ex-wife drama. The feel-good ambiance that is so familiar about contemporary romance is a comfortable welcome, and the perfect element in creating this nice, purely fun book.

The one great thing about light contemporaries is that nothing ever feels too over the top, dramatic. The simple and tidy storyline is just the sort of aspect that makes appreciating a story like Tempting the Cowboy so darn easy. From the engaging storyline, the unexpected bouts of heartfelt emotions, the realistic characters to the sweet-cuddly, yet steamy romance is the bit where the book asserts its originality. And in doing so, sets up a creative stage for believability in a story that would otherwise be polluted with overused ideas.

I loved the characters. They are all so distinct in their divergent personalities and characters, and yet, oddly and magnificently, they come together to establish a well-rounded cast. Rylan, whom life has dealt a tragic and shitty hand, is a strong and capable heroine, easy to connect with and sympathize for. Cole Haywood, a cowboy who is just as sweet as he is hot and demanding, is not only the perfect (albeit overprotective) father to an adorable 4 year-old, but also the ideal hero. Sweet, charming little Birdie (Cole’s daughter) to cocky, playful Tucker Haywood... The character charm and family dynamic has a strong presence, one I wouldn’t mind revisiting.

That’s not to say that this book was perfect, it wasn’t. There are some things that I could have gone without, like the quick ending or Cole’s idiotic reaction to an easily resolvable issue (with a quick conversation) near the end and the quick overcoming of Cole’s past issues, but despite all that, the book ends satisfyingly. Luckily, the passionate sexual chemistry and smexy scenes filled romance compensates for that. The things one cowboy Cole Haywood can do on a horse.....

It goes without saying this is a light, easy weekend read. If you are looking for an in-depth romance, this is not for you, regardless of the lighthearted or painful emotions running high in this story. This is an uncomplicated distraction book and a wonderful journey of love, that can only be appreciated for its simplicity, and can only impress with its simplicity – which it does in spades. This is definitely not my last Elizabeth Otto book.

GORGEOUS EYE-CANDY!! <3 :D

Favourite Quote:

"Rylan glanced at her hands - they were calloused. She'd never been one to have soft hands, but they looked different to her somehow now. In a short span of time, her hands had worked harder than they ever had, they had held and tended a child she'd come to love, and done all the necessary tasks of managing a family and a home. They'd traced a man's body and held him tight in passion. They'd wiped away blood and tears. These weren't the restless hands of the judge's wife. They didn't hold a gun anymore, but they held memories. Everything she'd touched had touched her in return."

Cowboys rank up there with cops, fire-fighters and the military in terms of the perfect hero. Cole Haywood? One cowboy who doesn't let the side down. The things he can do on a horse...

Tempting the Cowboy is the first book I have read by Elizabeth Otto and it won't be the last. I’ve read many many of Entangled's Indulgence line and I can say it's up there as one of the best. Beautifully written, it has a captivating storyline, wonderful realistic characters, excellent steamy content and it touches your emotions; I found myself going from laughing to fighting the tears and everything in between.

Rylan Fredrickson has left her life as a city cop behind and decamped to the country as housekeeper on a busy ranch. I loved her and despite her personal tragedy she's a strong, kind and caring lady. Following his father's death, Cole is at the helm of Paint River Ranch. Protective, brooding, thoughtful and very sexy, he is also an amazing single Dad to the sweetest 4 year old little lady. Both have had more than their fair share of heartache, both have surrounded themselves with emotional barriers but neither can fight the chemistry...

It's a passionate, intimate, hot yet heartfelt journey of trust and acceptance and with touching moments combined with those that pull on the heartstrings, I felt their joy and their pain. Fabulous secondary characters bring valuable content as do the lovely sweet moments from Cole's daughter. A superb first outing to the ranch. Can’t wait to return and see if Tucker can live up to the high standards his big brother has set.

I received this book as an ARC from the publisher for an honest and unbiased opinion.

Fire burned his skin beneath the weight of her hands, urging Cole to take what he wanted. And oh, he wanted to. So badly. Rylan’s chest heaved. A soft, needy exclamation escaped her lips. Shit, she wanted it too.

Rylan leaves the big city behind to work as a housekeeper on a ranch owned by the Haywood family. She’s hoping to come to terms with the tragic events of her past and take a breather from her fast paced job as a police officer. Rylan finds more than she bargained for when she finds Cole Haywood, sexy cowboy, and her boss. When sparks start to fly between Cole and Rylan, both struggle with the implications of what could happen if their relationship turns in to something other than boss and employee. Cole’s been burned before and has too many responsibilities to make the same mistake he made years before. Rylan’s scared of letting go of the past and becoming part of a family again…

Tempting the Cowboy was well written, sweet, and had just enough steam to keep me interested. Don’t get me wrong, it’s plenty of steamy but it’s not filled with just sex. The chemistry between the two characters is evident right off the bat and the author does a good job of showing their relationship develop. (Most of the steam happens in the last half of the book). Even though I think at one point in the book Rylan forgives Cole too easily (I don’t want to say too much and give anything away), I think Tempting the Cowboy was a pretty realistic love story. Nothing too over the top. I enjoyed the supporting characters especially Birdy. Cole has two brothers, one is a resident cowboy at the ranch and the other is serving in the military overseas. As soon as I read that I was hoping we would have a second book in the series with another Haywood brother featured. Lucky for me, next up is Tucker Haywood in One Night with a Cowboy. I don’t think you can go wrong with any of the Entangled Indulgence books. You can always count on solid writing, a good story, and a healthy dose of steam. I would definitely read Tucker’s story…who can resist a sexy cowboy?

A solid 3.5 STAR book.

So sweet, heart-breaking, original, and well written. Two characters burned by their past experiences, but who might just dare to try to open their heart once more.

I am in love with a cowboy. Cole is every romance reader's dream. He is honest, straight forward, rich and handsome. Rylan is lucky to have run into him ...it was fate. I love this story of struggle and understanding. This is a passionate love story full of patience and compassion.

Review:

This is one of those books that you don't want to end.

I got so invested in these characters that I just wanted to story to keep going and going. The story of these two people who have both been hurt and lost, is so well written that it stands out compared to other stories I have read recently. I am going to warn you, to have tissues ready because I was so moved by the characters and story that there were parts that I cried along with the characters.

The story is about Rylan; a former police officer, who has lost her young child and husband in a car accident. To get away from her past and hopefully move on, she takes a job as a housekeeper on a ranch. As a mother I cannot imagine losing any of my kids and having to deal with that loss. Through the writing of this story you feel her grief and sympathize with Rylan. When she gets to the ranch she finds out that Cole her boss is a single father to a young girl, which is very hard for Rylan. Cole has had his share of loss too. Cole got involved with his ex when she worked for him and ended up falling for her and marrying her. She ends up leaving Cole and Birdie (their daughter), so you can see why he has trust issues and has vowed not to get involved with an employee again. These two emotionally scarred people have a rocky road of emotions and misunderstandings to overcome, but they are perfect for each other and help each other heal and love again. Would love to find out, say five years down the road, what is happening with them.

I am going to say this again, that the writing and the story really are first rate and I just loved the book.

Well, this has only been my second Cowboy story, and I have to say that I will be reading more of them, lol. At least if they are all like Mr. Haywood. ;)
Both Rylan and Cole have difficult pasts which makes it hard for them in their current situation to trust and let their guard down. Rylan moves to Paint River Ranch to get a fresh start and to try to let life happen. When she meets her future boss in, what I would say is quite the first impression lol, she's instantly attracted but her brain works overtime to tamp it down. Same goes for Cole, though from his interpretation of their first encounter he's a little fuzzy on the details. They both try to, not really deny that they are attracted to each other, but to not give in to temptation. But when they do, woohoo! It was so sexy! As they try to keep things casual, feelings start to develop and they both start getting antsy. Cole & Rylan have to let go of their past in order to move forward, a job a little more difficult for her than it is for him. But that's what being there for each other is anyway, right?
I thought it was a great read and I loved all of the characters as well. And I'm especially looking forward to Tucker's story, he's the funny layed back one so you know its going to be good. lol

It was really good. You felt for the characters when they both suffered their pain and they even made a very believable couple, even if, originally she was the" hired help".
Ryland had taken off to start a new life and to try and find a new reason for living after losing her husband and child in a car accident he was responsible for and for which she was currently being sued. When she meets Cole,it's when he's not too sober and he's not that polite either and she takes him home since, when they get introduced by the barkeep, turns out she's his new housekeeper and her ride to his place. She doesn't know that he has a four year-old and she's going to be a handful and a stark reminder of her recent past, but she eventually came to terms with it. His Mother and brother are a hoot and they certainly know how to give their love ones a dose of reality, when it come to the truth. Even if they don't want to hear it. If you get a chance to pick it up you'll enjoy it.

Rylan Fredrickson goes to Montana to work at the Paint River Ranch as a housekeeper. She lost everything she loves in life. She needs to get away and heal. When she arrives at the ranch, she knows she's in trouble. The cause is one hot cowboy, Cole Haywood. He's her boss and a single father. Birdie, his daughter, is the love of his life. Her own daughter is dead. Can she cope with caring for another child? She doesn't think so. The past controls her. Elizabeth Otto has written a beautiful emotional romance which explores how we deal with loss. Will Rylan be able to take a chance on happiness? Rylan and Cole are a wonderful match. The sparks fly as they struggle to come to terms with their attraction. Birdie is a such a loving child. She will win your heart. Can they become a family? This story is filled with wry humor and tear inducing emotion. A wonderful story that will keep you reading until the last page. Keep a box of tissues handy.

Rylan takes a job on a ranch; she left her job as a cop and was trying to move on from her past life. She fines her boss Cole extremely sexy but Rylan has just been through a hard tragic time. She is still trying to get over her loss.

Cole is one sexy cowboy with a heart of gold. His true love is his daughter, Birdie. Cole isn’t looking for a relationship, he is perfectly find being a single dad but with Rylan around all the time he can’t fight the chemistry between them.
Rylan’s doesn’t want to lose her memories of her past and she is afraid by letting Cole and Birdie into her heart, she will forget the special memories she has.

This is a beautiful romance book, it has everything I look for and more. It is very emotional and powerful and SEXY as sin…This is one of those books I would read again!

Okay so I am a sucker for a cowboy book and this one is no exception.

I loved this book it was an emotional roller coaster but in the best of ways. It may be my pregnancy hormones but this book had me crying at the beginning and at the end. Oh the end of this book was not what I expected at all but it was fabulous but seriously keep your tissues close.

Rylan for me was a character I could really relate to. I don't want to say too much for fear of giving things away but I am sure I would feel like her if i'd been through the same wringer.

Now Cole he was one sexy cowboy pigheaded and stubborn as hell but those are the best kind as far as i'm concerned.

Overall I give this 5 out of 5 I would recommend this book to any one.

PS please tell me book two will be here soon ;)

I will admit, I'm a total sucker for hot cowboys, and this book surpassed all my expectations! I was hooked on the first page and loved every page there after!!

Rylan is strong, has been hurt in the past and just wants to get away from all the memories so she accepts a job as a houseketper on a ranch. Cole runs the ranch and also has been hurt in the past and is not willing to trust another woman. However, their chemistry is just too much to ignore.

Watching them fall for each other and move through their past toward each other is sweet, hot, heartbreaking, and touching. Once they finally let go with each other - STEAMY!!! I'll go horseback riding with Cole any day!!

Cannot express how much I loved their story and how much I am looking forward to the next one in this series!!!

Loved Rylan and Cole

I read this book for the first time years ago and I keep coming back to it. Rylan is one of my favorite female main characters. She’s strong and pragmatic with a heartbreaking past. Rylan just wants a fresh start. Cole is determined not to repeat past mistakes. Their chemistry is sizzling. Otto’s descriptions of Paint River Ranch really make me wish I could visit such a place. Love the cowboys!

Reread: 3/28/23
I forgot how much angst and push-pull are in this book. Cole is pretty gruff, but I love how honest he is about his feelings for Rylan.

It was great until the end part.

I felt that the heroine forgave the hero too easily for his stupid behavior. Make him bleed first before you take him back. Always.

Tempting the Cowboy is the first book in a new series from author Elizabeth Otto, and oh my, what an amazing start!
Rylan Frederickson has had too much of her life taken away by tragedy and is looking to make a fresh start. It’s that desire that leads her to Paint River Ranch. Certain that a more simple life working as a housekeeper on the ranch is exactly what she needs to start to heal her hurt. What she’s certain she doesn’t need is to deal with the gorgeous, sexy, yet ornery, co-owner of the ranch. He’s an attraction she really can’t afford and even worse he’s a single dad of a beautiful four-year old little girl. The combination of a handsome, doting father and an adorable, loving little girl represents what was taken away from her and what she could never have again.

Cole Haywood is a busy man these days. Running his family’s ranch and being a single dad take up all of his waking hours, but he wouldn’t change a thing….except maybe adding the love of a good woman into the mix. On second thought, maybe not. He’d tried that route before and it didn’t turn out well. It did, however, lead to a new section to the Paint River Ranch employee handbook. No *ahem* relations with the staff. Now, after meeting Rylan, the new housekeeper, he’s thinking that maybe that handbook needs another revision to remove that section. Unfortunately there’s more than just a policy keeping him away from Rylan and he’s reminded every time that he looks at his little girl. He can’t afford to make any mistakes and his focus needs to remain on his little girl, Birdie, and his ranch. The question is, how long can the reasons to stay away from Rylan hold up?

The paths that Rylan and Cole have gone down lead them both to this crossroads in their lives and it seems like fate has led them here together. Both equally wounded by love and life in the past, they don’t realize it right away, but eventually they will…that they can help each other heal and learn to love again.

I devoured this book. I read it in just one sitting and loved every minute. It starts out with Rylan and Cole not liking each other one bit and turns into a passion fueled romance that I adored. Rylan’s story absolutely broke my heart and I wanted nothing more than for her to have a happy ending. She deserved it more than I can say. As a police officer, she was as tough as nails, but in her personal life she wasn’t strong enough and she’s paying for it now. I really enjoyed seeing her emotional journey through this story and I cried through so much of the last part of this book…but, you know I love that! Cole is an equally amazing character. He is gruff and rugged with a gorgeous body and killer looks. He carries around so much weight on his shoulders but carries it with dignity. His loyalty to his family and his love for his little girl made him even more delicious than just a sexy cowboy. Together, Cole and Rylan are a match made in heaven. They rise above the lows life has given them and in the end, realize they have found love and another chance at a happily ever after. Now, I will tell you that it isn’t an easy road and the last few chapters had me sobbing and my chest was aching but don’t worry, you’ll love the ending. I promise!

Thank you, Elizabeth, for a fabulous story. I am SO looking forward to more from this series and the Haywood boys!

A child is the best thing that a parent can have but there is also enough room for a life time partner. The only thing that she needs is to heal and he needs to believe that happily ever afters do exist.

This is the first installment to “A Paint River Ranch” series and I have to say that I fell in love with these two characters well actually with three. There was so much emotion going through me when I was reading this book I felt pain, sadness, confusion, happiness and most of all love. From the moment that I read that there was a little footsteps down the hall and screamed “doggie” I knew that I was going to fall in love with Birdie. There was Rylan and the emotional wreck that she was in I was trying to figure out what she was running away from and when I found out my heart was crushed. Then finally Cole the man that held the family together, the person that took over the ranch when his father passed away, the devoted son, brother but most of all a devoted father.

Rylan Frederickson needed to heal and after accepting a job over the phone she knows that this is her opportunity. When everything goes wrong she ends up in a bar and low and behold the person that can take her to the ranch is there. Only that he has been drinking but most of all he is a very handsome cowboy and there is no way she is going to let Cole Haywood drive. Cole knows that he is being an ass but he doesn’t care he needs to quit looking and feeling things for Rylan. He needs to remember that she is an employee and that getting involved with an employee is against the rules. Cole needs to take care of the ranch, his mother but most of all his precious Birdie.

As time goes by the feelings that they both have can’t be denied any longer. Once they share that first kiss nothing is able to stop them. They both know that they should but who the hell cares. Rylan is able to open up to Cole and lets him know about her terrible past, the reason that she gets attorney mail. He can’t believe what she has gone through not only what she went through with her husband but losing her daughter. Rylan has blamed herself for the death of her daughter, there are so many what if’s, she should have left her husband only that he threatened her. Cole has not told Rylan yet about his past and that’s never a good thing because his ex has been calling him. When she finds out the specifics of how he got Birdie what will she do? What will Cole do when Rylan can’t be a mother to Bridie because she Rachel can’t be replaced? Will Cole lose Rylan because he can’t listen to what she has to say after a horrible accident involving Birdie?

Tempting the Cowboy was such a wonderful read that I could not put it done not even for sleep. I love Ms. Otto’s writing style and with how much passion she puts into her writing. I like how the story began with that tension that said that something horrible happened to Rylan and how the passion between the two characters was going to explosive. The storyline was great and the pace of the story was perfect. The sexual tension between these two characters is hot and when they come together it’s full of passion. It’s seems that both of them need healing because of their previous relationship and it seemed that they were healing each other.

I recommend this read to all the readers that enjoy romance reads. I can’t wait to read the next in this series.

What a fabulous read! I was roped in from the very beginning and couldn’t put this book down until the end – and now I can’t wait for the next book in the series! This book is so much more than your typical cowboy romance novel and I would recommend it to anyone who enjoys a great love story with steam and heat as well as some emotional angst thrown in.

I loved Rylan – she is such a strong character, trying to get on with her life after the recent tragedy she has gone through. A former cop, she is self-confident and strong, and I love her sassy mouth – or as Cole would say, she’s a little “ornery.” You can feel her pain as she struggles with her emotions throughout the book, and it was heart-wrenching and heart-warming all at the same time to see how her relationship with Cole’s daughter Birdie developed.

Cole is just delicious – and to quote Rylan:
“Cole Haywood had a delectable lower lip and a top one that curled up just a bit, making him look inviting and sexy as sin. His eyes just had to be the brightest turquoise she’d ever seen, too. They were brilliant, even in the dim light.”

Yum! But he’s a man who has been burned by love in the past and has centered his life on his young daughter and running the ranch.

From the first moment that Rylan and Cole meet the sparks fly, but Cole is reluctant to pursue any type of relationship with Rylan since she works for him…just refer to the “Handbook” section on fraternizing with the employees, which was put in place after Cole crossed those boundaries once before. Of course when you have an attraction as potent as the one between Cole & Rylan you know the handbook is going out the window and boundaries are going to be crossed – which leads to some hot & steamy time for the two! But nothing is ever easy, mistakes and events from the past tend to shape the future, and Cole and Rylan have to come to terms with their own issues before they can move forward.

I loved the family that Elizabeth Otto has created. Maeve Haywood is wonderful, looking out for her sons, so sweet to Rylan and helping Cole raise his daughter. And I can’t wait to learn more about the two other Haywood brothers, Tucker and Levi – if their stories are half as hot as Cole’s we’ll all be in for a real treat!

I must admit that after reading this book I have a new found appreciation for cowboys!

I did not know what to expect from this book, as it was my first by this author. I certainly did not expect I would be giving it 4.75 Stars! By the book’s description, it led me to believe it would be another typical story where the woman comes to the Dude Ranch not prepared for western live, falls in love with the brooding but sexy cowboy, whom doesn’t want to commit due to a failed marriage, etc. Well, this storyline had some of that, and so much more. Tempting the Cowboy had heart and soul. I stayed up way past my bedtime, as I could not put it down. Believe me, I had to reach for my Kleenex more than once.
The characters came alive to me. I could feel Rylan’s range of emotions. The author slowly revealed the events that took Rylan from cop to a housekeeper. Even though, Rylan is emotionally scarred and only a shadow of the woman she once was, you could feel the “zest” within her from the first conversation she had with the intoxicated cowboy, Cole. Cole was casted in the typical older brother role- serious, guarded, and very protective of his family. His failed marriage has left a bitter man, and yet the scenes with his daughter are so heartwarming. Of course, I fell “in like” immediately with the 2nd son, as Tucker has all the charming characteristic of the middle child. There is a 3rd brother, Levi, whom is only mentioned in passing, as he is serving in the military. Maybe the next book, will give us more info on him.
When Rylan and Cole finally give into their lustful feelings for each other, the pages “Light-Up” from their passion. The author really explored their sensuality by sharing with the readers a love making session while riding a horse. That’s a true cowboy moment, if there was ever one!
I am certainly looking forward to the continuation of “A Paint River Ranch Series” starring the Haywood brothers.

This was a surprisingly great story to read. I certainly was not expecting the level of emotions that were brought to the page, nor the steamy chemistry between the characters.

Elizabeth Otto did a great job of drawing me into the story by making Rylan and Cole's first meeting crackle with tension. It made for a fantastic read to see these two fighting their attraction and their emotions for each other as the story progressed.

I loved that Cole was protective of his daughter, even when at one time I thought he went a bit too far. I even understood why he was so hesitant to open up to Rylan after learning of his previous experience with his ex-wife. Likewise, I understood Rylan's apprehension at getting close to another man, especially a man with a child. Rylan and Cole had issues and it was a treat to see them lowering the walls they had built around each other.

It goes without saying that their chemistry was off-the-charts HOT. The sexual tension between these two was palpable through the page and when the author added their emotions to the mix it made for some fabulous scenes.

I enjoyed the addition of the secondary characters, especially Cole's brother. Birdie, Cole's daughter, was a cutie and his mother brought some motherly comfort and understanding when things started to get difficult.

All in all, Tempting the Cowboy was an emotionally driven, romantic read.

I received this title from the publisher through NetGalley in exchange of my honest opinion.

This book is the first in the Paint River Ranch series. Set in the beautiful Montana countryside, it introduces us to the Haywood family. This is the story of Cole, eldest son and manager of the large ranch and Rylan, formerly a city cop who has escaped to the rugged wilderness to start a new life in the hopes of overcoming the tragedy of losing her young daughter. Cole has a strict "hands off" policy when it comes to newly hired employees due to a disastrous marriage that none-the-less gifted him with his now 4 year old daughter Birdie. This policy is sorely tested by his immediate attraction to Rylan and her reciprocation of these feelings.

I really enjoyed the family dynamics of this story. Cole, his brother Tucker, and his mother Maeve have warm family interactions that draw in the reader and make one wish to share the evenings with them. This draws Rylan in, making her realize that solitude isn't going to help her overcome her grief. Her fear of losing the memory of her daughter by accepting Birdie and Cole's overtures into her life make her actions realistic and understandable. The sexual chemistry between Cole and Rylan is well written and believable, the steamy love scenes equally so. I also appreciated the alternating third person points of view of Cole and Rylan, giving an emotional depth to the story that was both poignant and heartwarming. Paint River Ranch is a place I look forward to visiting again as this series continues. 4 well deserved stars!

I can't say enough good things about this book. Rylan Fredrickson, former police officer, who lost her 18 month old daughter in a car accident caused by her husband, who also died in the accident. She needs a break from her train wreck of a life. She decides to take a job as a housekeeper on Paint River Ranch. Cole Haywood, Co-owner of the Paint River Ranch, single father of the cutest 5 year old little girl, Birdie. The story sounds typical but it's far from it. The tragedies Rylan has had to endure coupled with the hurt and betrayal Cole has suffered at the hands of Birdie's mother, make for some hesitant but EXPLOSIVE chemistry between them. They know they shouldn't but can't help themselves, which makes for some sizzling hot cowboy love scenes!!! But wait, can Rylan give Cole more when she can hardly bring herself to interact with Birdie, who means the world to Cole?

This is a MUST read! It's not your typical cowboy love story. It's better! Elizabeth Otto has written an amazing book and this reader can't wait to see what she comes up with next. I love her writing style. The story flows smoothly with no hiccups. Even though this is not a long book, there is so much of a fabulous story packed between the pages that I had to give it 5-stars! This is one of those books that I can read over and over.

Thank you Net Galley and the publisher for this copy in exchange for an honest review.

This is my first book by Elizabeth, so I did not know what to expect. I have to tell you, I loved this book.

I thought it was a very well written love story.

I loved both hero and heroine in the book, as well as the secondary characters.
Rylan was trying to escape a painful loss, her 18 month old daughter killed in a car crash, by a drunk driver, her cheating, drunk husband. Rylan goes to the ranch as a housekeeper, but ends up finding so much more out of it. She finds the ability to love and open her heart to another child after she did not think she would ever be able to again.

Cole is running his family's very successful ranch and being single dad to his 5 year old daughter Birdie. The last thing Cole wants is another women in his life as his ex took his offered money and left him and their daughter behind. Cole soon realizes not everyone is like his ex wife and opens himself up to Rylan.

This book is emotional and heart breaking, but is also HOT as hell. The author did a great job with the characters. Very pleased.

Oh wow, Tempting the Cowboy had me on a roller-coaster of emotions, from laughing to tears to anger and even fear. This was a wonderful read. Rylan came to The Painting Ranch to get away from her memories and try to find a way to move on. She took the job as the housekeeper, hoping that she would never have to love again. Rylan had been through hell, but I admired how strong she was, as well as kind, caring, giving, and understanding.
Rylan didn't expect Cole, the co-owner, to be so great. He was Strong, Sexy, Protective, Charming, passionate, loyal, kind, hard-working and loved and treated his daughter as his whole world. Cole had been burned badly by his first wife and had no desire to ever be in that position again.
Tempting a Cowboy was a steamy but touching and sweet story. I truly enjoyed this book and I highly recommend. I can't wait to read the next book in series! I received an ARC copy of this book in exchange for my honest review. All thoughts and opinions are my own. My review can be found at http://booksbooksmorebooks.blogspot.c...

Christ! Reading this book was an emotional roller coaster. Every time it seemed that things were smoothing out, something came along and just slammed the breath out of you. But it was so good, gut wrenching, twisting your heart, damned good. It was also passionate, sheet clenching, mouth watering sexy good. And it was worth every minute. Elizabeth is one hell of a writer, and I'm very glad I read this. Of course, now I have to go back and see what else she's written, but that's a good thing. I don't think I've ever read about cowboys very much, but damn this book is certainly making me re-think that. I loved the characters, the flow of the storyline, everything. And at the end I wanted more. To me, that's saying something. Cole was intense, smokin' hot and not only a good man, but a good father. Rylan was a broken woman looking for a place to heal. What she found instead was so much more. Congratulations Elizabeth, excellent job with everything. I saw that there will be another book in this series, and I'm looking forward to that a lot.

I received a copy of this book in return for an honest review.

Tempting the Cowboy is one of the most emotional romances I have read in a long time. It was amazing how drawn into the character's lives I was. Rylan has left the city to work at the ranch to escape her past and the demons in it. Cole runs the ranch while trying to be a father to his little girl and take care of his ailing mother. Cole has a policy about not getting involved with the "help". but something about Rylan makes her so very hard to resist. Several very emotional scenes had me practically crying (in a good way). The whole story was written in such a realistic way that all the characters were so very real to me. Cole's daughter, Birdie, was such a sweet little thing and really was the catalyst in the relationship in so many ways. This is a must read for any lover of romance. - See more at: http://hotofftheshelves.blogspot.com/...
