What’s your name, Beautiful?
Never mind. It doesn’t matter, and I won’t remember it, anyway.
I’m Tack Morgan, and I’m Las Vegas Magazine’s Sexiest Man. I’m the host of the most listened-to morning drive-time show on Vegas’s FM dial.
I’m also in therapy for sexual harassment.
My therapist is the one making me write this. The doc says it’ll help me put things into perspective.
To be clear, I don’t have sexual harassment issues. I have sexual frustration issues.
And it’s totally not my fault.
That responsibility rests squarely with the person I’m being accused of harassing. I see her each and every weekday morning at the ungodly hour of 6 a.m.
Funny. I used to think that was the best time of the whole day. I lived for starting my mornings so early, not seeing my bed until many, many hours later.
Unless it was for recreation.
At the risk of sounding cocky, I recreated a lot.
Sex is my sport of choice. Or at least it was, until Jen waltzed through the station door and announced she was my new morning-show co-host.
I swear, she’s developed some sort of pheromone-canceling ESP that follows me around everywhere and cockblocks me at every turn. I haven’t gotten laid in… too long.
Honestly, I haven’t been keeping track.
Actually, yes, I have.
It’s been two months.
Coincidentally, that’s exactly how long Jensen MacKenzie has been my co-host.
I don’t think my balls can get any bluer.

Title: Waking up in Vegas
Series:Standalone
Author: Stevie Kisner
Release Date: May 23, 2014
Rating:4.5 stars
Cliffhanger:No
HEA:

"I'm confident, but seriously, it isn't arrogance when you know your strengths and utilize them. Can I help it if I'm better than some people, and can I help it that it's patently obvious?"

And that, right there, illustrates all the completely egotistical, selfish, and total jerk face personality that is Tack Morgan. Did I like Tack very much in the beginning? He was pretty much every mother's worst nightmare that unashamedly used and tossed women like, well, a used condom. One taste was enough for him and he was out the door looking for his next piece of meat. Not many women would like a guy like that. Did I still think he was hilarious? I admit nothing. Though I will say, this man will grow on you like a disease. You try to fight it, but there is no escaping his brash and overly confident personality. He's an over the top man's man and in your face about it.

His opinions are so ridiculous at times I couldn't stop myself from busting out laughing. For example, everybody knows that cold water causes shrinkage to a guys most prized possession. His thoughts:

I mean, what if it doesn't come back? It's something every guy worries about. We know it should come back, and it always has-but what if, one day, it...didn't?
My life would be over. That's what.

He oozes sex appeal and flashes his winning smile- is it any wonder that he can charm the panties off of any woman he encounters? He's the biggest slut, bigger than anyone in town-male or female. In fact, his reputation has even spread past the outskirts of Las Vegas where he resides and heads the top morning show on the radio.

"Your reputation as a manslut is legendary in radiodom. I was warned about you before I left, Tack, by my station manager. In Kansas City."
"Really?" I tried to hide it, but a molecule of pride must have leaked out somewhere, because Miss Smackety smacked me.

Miss Smackety: Jensen MacKenzie.

Little blonde pixie with a voice like sin, dynamic and bursting with wit and intelligence that smashes Tack's ego into dust on a daily basis. I loved this woman-for so many reasons. It takes some big lady balls to take down the player of his caliber and she does it with flair and style. His new co-host is not what he's expecting and the emotions and....ahem...hardcore feelings she evokes are life altering. And seemingly effortless.

She took a sip from her mug and groaned. My stiffy was instantaneous. I choked on my own mouthful and rolled my stool as far forward as possible to hid my lap. This was not good.

She doesn't even know what she's doing to him. Does she?

She's funny, no-nonsense and befriends him...yes, Tack now has a friend of the female variety and he doesn't know what to think about it. Especially since she turns him on so bad and he can't do anything about it. He has a strict rule against fraternizing with co-workers and he's not about to step over that line. But he's tempted-like he's never been before in his life. She's like no other woman he's ever met-constantly surprising him and impressing him and his will power seems to be wavering by the minute. Pretty soon, he's inching closer to passing that line and losing his will to care.

Now he's ruined. HIs carefree lifestyle is in the wind. No other woman matches up or seems to appeal anymore. He's got a serious case of lust and attraction for one woman. His Jen. She confuses the hell out of him though. One minute she's flirting with him, the next she acts like he's her brother. This woman is going to be the death of him.

As the story progresses, you see Tack's transformation. He's always had his positive traits despite his loose morals. He donates to charities, he's an animal lover, he pulls out chairs and holds open doors. See? He's not completely unredeemable. But he never before left himself open to get used by women. So he left them first. His first sexual experience molded this behavior and he simply looks at it as self-preservation. But now, Jen is making him softer, more outgoing and less self-centered. He's nicer to people and he thinks about the consequences of his actions. But with his past, Jen is not willing to turn her life upside down and trust that he'll be devoted to her. She clearly wants him just as bad but she's running scared. She's taking another job in Phoenix and he has one chance to change her mind. He's desperate to show her that he means business this time. Only...how?

After some fooling around, Tack Morgan: Resident Manwhore, won't put out. You heard me right. He won't do the deed for two reasons:

1-In the past, sex ALWAYS equalled FINISHED. And that can never happen with her.

2-He hopes to show her that she means more to him than simply lust.

Fireworks, explosions, waves crashing-hand me any trite expression and, I swear to God, I lived it when her tongue slid alongside mine. Wrapped in her scent, her taste, and her arms, I asked myself again how I would let her go. How she could even want to.

By the end, I was totally team Tack and rooting for him to breakthrough to Jen. Kind of unbelievable, but true, nonetheless. I really felt for him and wanted her to understand how vulnerable and hopeful he was. Coming down to the last day before she has to leave, his willpower finally snaps and he makes a decision: if he can only have her one night, he'll take it and never regret it. This woman has changed him forever. Can't she see that?

This book was worth the long wait and I can honestly say it was just as good as I'd hoped it would be. I'm so happy to be able to say that. It's not always the case that your expectations are met after months of waiting but this book was definitely a "winning hand".

But does she come to her senses and stay? I'm not telling....but I will say: that epilogue was PERFECTION! If you have this book on your list and you're in the mood for a good laugh, move this hot book up!

Who doesn’t love a man-whore story told from the man-whore himself?
Stevie Kisner first brought us inside the mind of rock legend JT Blackwood in DREAM ME OFF MY FEET, and now in WAKING UP IN VEGAS, she brings us the internal musings of fellow ladies’ man Spartacus “Tack” Morgan.

Tack is a sexy, funny, and popular radio personality who hosts the morning-drive broadcast. His sexual exploits are legendary, and he’s left a line of broken hearts in his wake. But why get emotionally involved when there are so many fish in the sea?

Enter Jensen MacKenzie, his newly-appointed co-host.

Suddenly Tack’s heart is doing funny things in his chest, and another body part is doing some funny things behind his zipper.

Total honesty here – I have no idea what else she said. Because holy sh*t, her on-air voice was pure porn star… I could hear the ratings going up already. Whoever hired her was a genius. And was going to die, if I made it through our timeslot without my scrotum exploding.

My personal requirements for a good read are normally humor, heart, and heat, and I’m thrilled to report that WUIV delivered on all counts.

I should mention here that I was a beta-reader for this book from the very first moment of its inception. When Stevie emailed those first pages, I cracked right the hell up, and then promptly badgered her incessantly over the following months to send more. Throughout the editing process, I must have read every word five times over, yet even still, when Release Day finally rolled around, I promptly one-clicked… and then read it all over again. It’s just that good.

HUMOR: Fricking hilarious, with numerous laugh-out-loud moments on nearly every page. Tack’s unapologetic misogyny makes for some hysterical internal dialogue. The laughs are even bigger when his thoughts manage to slip out of his mouth. Those instances are what land Tack in mandatory therapy for sexual harassment, and some of the biggest laughs are delivered during those imposed sessions.

She made another note in the margin, then shuffled the pages until she came to one with the corner folded down. “Explain having sex in the women’s bathroom.”

“What, like the mechanics of it?”

HEAT: Phew! My heart was beating frantically from their very first kiss. The swoony times are written so well and with such emotion, you can’t help but be taken along for the ride. Tack is sexy as all hell, and Jen amps up his frustrations to the point that their encounters are positively ELECTRIC.

I feathered my lips over hers again, coaxing her to let me inside. The set of her mouth softened, but still she kept me out.

Then I heard the slight sound of a swallowed moan, rough and intoxicating.

I lost the last shred of restraint that I’d convinced myself I had so much of.

With a groan, I took and I teased and finally her lips parted just a fraction, allowing me inside to taste her sweetness full-on.

HEART: Tack starts off as an unapologetic lothario. And a bit of a dick. Meeting Jen is the catalyst for his unwanted change of heart. She’s the first woman—aside from his feisty mother—to ever challenge him, and her unwavering personality makes Tack see how empty his life has truly been. He grows so much through this story, and you get to experience this change every step of the way. I found myself melting during each new revelation, my heart breaking right along with Tack’s.

The incomparable JT Blackwood (from DMOMF) makes an appearance, and I was practically giddy to see him again. As funny as he was, he also helped to shed some much-needed light on Tack’s situation.

JT: “So nobody knows about the two of you?”

TACK: “Not really.”

JT: “Why in the hell not? She doesn’t have a third tit or anything, does she? Something awkward to explain at pool parties?”

TACK: “Honestly? I’m afraid to be out there, as a couple. What if I fail? What if she really does leave in a week?”

JT: “Sure, if what’s in your heart stays inside, nobody can crush it. But if you hide it, it will die that same death, sure as if someone stomped it into bits.”

TACK: “Are you calling me a chicken?”

JT: “Buck-auck.”

All in all, WUIV is a well-written story that will have you laughing one minute and swooning the next. Quite simply, you’ll fall in LOVE with Tack.

I do not give 5 stars out lightly. And while I read A LOT, if you check my reviews, you’ll find I’ve hardly written any at all. So, when I actually do give a 5-star, you know I really mean it. And I mean it with this one. Take a chance on this book. You won’t regret it!

This was hilarious! I get really sick of the over-the-top emotional smarminess in most books. This was a classic in-your-face manwhore account of life as a dude who eventually gets the girl.

I am really glad I read this (in one sitting).

Thanks to T. Torrest for constantly reminding her readers about this one!

Tack and Jen

First off, you have a lot to live up to when you name your hero Tack. He better be good. And well....he wasn't. I thought the blurb was kind of funny but then it turns out the whole book is like that. It got old. Tack is a misogynistic jackhole. I knew by 4% this wasn't going to be the book for me. I made it to about 30% but then I gave up.

If you liked Tangled, you may or may not like this one!

Well, that was helpful, wasn't?

See, I'm a big Tangled fan! Huge! Addicted! Read in two different languages, got the T-Shirt! (okay, maybe I didn't get a T-Shirt, but I did read in two different languages!)
So, ever since I read Tangled, I've been trying to find a similar book. Just to scratch my itch.
And this book is the closest I've ever gotten!

So that's a plus...

But I can't compare this book with Tangled... Or this book is gonna lose embarrassingly hard!

The Story is about a Big Las Vegas Player who falls in love with his new co-worker. Nothing to see here people, You've heard the story before...

Pros:
- The guy is a radio host! That's original... One because who listen to radio anymore?? Two because contemporary romance books always fall into the same professions: Athlete, businessman/lawyer/millionaire, boxer, musician, biker/criminal... So, a radio host? There's something I didn't see before!!

- It started great... The guy was charming, the girl was weird... She felt believable... A few funny scenes... Fun stuff...

- The many ways he finds to wake her up!!! Those were the best scenes!!! I was actually very disappointed when they got together and he started waking her up with kisses... BORING!!! They should just be friends forever and keep being funny, because as a couple they are tiresome!

Cons:
- Then things fall to shit!!! Everything started to get too unconvincing! As a psychology student I felt embarrassed for this representation of a therapy session and of a person... I could not get in any of the characters mind! Even though this is written in first person! I couldn't form a bond with the character because everything felt too naive, too unreal and unconvincing...
And the end??? When they come clean with everything??? I was like: "WTF!!! Is this some kind of superhero movie now?? Are we in the part where the villain tells us his whole plan???"
That scene was so unnecessary! And confusing! I did not understand the plan at all! It seemed too much of a child's play to be plot by adults!

-The sex scenes were boring... I like how he didn't described the sex at the beginning, but he does describe every little detail about the sex with Jen... Pretty unnecessary, if you ask me... It's not like this is erotica, and if it were it would still be pretty tame.

So, at the end... Even though I laugh a few times during this book, I still end up unsatisfied in the end...

Favorite Quotes:

"It was just hard to concentrate with my pulse pounding a bossa nova in my dick"

"(The dog)... Barks at thunder like he's telling the sky to shut up. Short-guy syndrome."

"Well, fuck me with a chainsaw"

"So, you think I'm sexy then?"
"Well, maybe not so much this morning. But I kissed you, didn't I?"
"Well, yeah, but I thought it was just something that you did, like when dogs pee on fire hydrants."

"Jensen narrowed her eyes, but didn't say anything. She'd been a little cranky when I woke her up by blowing a coach's whistle through the phone, but I thought she'd have been over it by now"

"My need for her - and the resulting samba of my pulse below my belt - was a dangerous distraction"

I was lucky enough to receive an ARC from the author in advance of publication, but I've been so swamped that I just now got around to reading it. I'm so sad I waited this long, but I'm still thrilled I got a chance to read it. I've not read a strictly male POV book since Emma Chase's Tangled. Now, I'm not one to compare book-to-book because it's like comparing apples and oranges, but despite what others seem to be saying, I thought Tack and Waking Up in Vegas could proudly stand right next to Tangled.

Tack was a self-professed manwhore – and a bit of a jerk – but I found myself unapologetically enamored with him all the same. His inner dialogue was blunt and sometimes made me cringe, but you know what? That's what I expect from a man like him. I adored Jen and the chemistry between them was fiery. As much as I enjoyed manwhore Tack, I loved his transformation more. (Of course.) There's more to Tack than meets the eye and I thoroughly enjoyed learning every bit of it.

Waking Up in Vegas was laugh out loud funny. It had crude moments and sexy ones. There was a huge transformation that was still believable and just made me love Tack even more. Jen was a kickass leading lady and I loved the dynamic they shared. It was flirtatious and full of sexual tension. I got a whole bunch of feels from this one when it was all said and done. This was a really quick read that I wish had been a little longer. I wouldn't have minded spending a bit more time in Tack's world.

I received a copy of this book from the author in exchange for an honest review.

This was a very entertaining book! First off, I loved that it was in first-person format from Tack's pov. He was hilarious and very unapologetic for his views on life and how he lived his. Even though he didn't believe in spending more than one night with a woman I thought there was nothing wrong with the way he handled it. He rocked!!!
I wasn't that crazy about Jensen though. I didn't like how she interacted with Tack and in some of the chapters I was completely baffled about why she did things and what her goal was. That seemed pretty ironic to me because Tack was baffled as well and would ask his therapist for insight. The therapist would make a cryptic remark such as "ah, well, she's a woman" but not elaborate more, which frustrated me. I'M a woman and I couldn't figure out what the heck she was doing or what she was hoping to succeed!!! I don't know if that means I'm lacking some feminine wiles (a very real possibility!) or what but I got kind of tired of trying to interpret Jensen's actions. For that reason I deducted a star because I couldn't relate to Jensen at all. But I loved Tack! ; )

I. FREAKING. LOVED. TACK!
I have to say I have been looking forward to reading this...well, since I first heard about it! It did NOT disappoint! I love when the characters are more or less telling you their story. Rather than a narrator. It was almost like Tack was in the room with me telling his version of events as they were happening. Tack is a manwhore with a heart of gold.... A reluctant romantic.... A perfect imperfection of a man and I loved every minute of the book. You guys are gonna LOVE this book. A rom-com at its best.

When I first read the back of the book it reminded me a bit of another "Tangled" story, and it still does ....a little, but the two stories are so very different. I laughed .... A lot!

Tack is definitely one of my top 10 BBFs. Right up there with Drew Evans, Ryan Christiansen, Simon Parker, Sean Wilder, Gideon Cross, Christian Grey, and Gabriel Emerson....to name a few.

I will DEFINITELY be reading this one again!

2.5 to 3 more complicated than it needed to be stars! Let me just start with this is nothing like Tangled. Drew was both sexy, clever and one step ahead of everyone in his POV. Tack is one step behind, self-centered and somehow not that sexy. I'm not sure what it is about DJ's but all I remember is Howard Stern telling people he has a face for radio. I can't get a visual on Tack to excuse some of his dumb guy traits. Jensen never jumps off the page for me either. She seems a bit dull and goofy. I was never certain she even had feelings for Tack until about 65%. The whole getting Mom involved in some kind of "lesson on commitment" was very strange.

Iva says: "I have stalked Stevie Kisner's facebook page almost daily for the past six months, anxiously waiting for Waking Up in Vegas to be released. Stevie very graciously gave Kota's Book Kollection Blog an exclusive introduction to Tack during our Christmas giveaway and straight away I wanted more! So with that type of anticipation, finally getting to read Waking Up in Vegas was a little scary. I mean - what if it was total shit?"

Stevie Kisner, you kill me with Tack's turn of phrase for just about everything. I loved the slice of male POV through every single reaction, action & and mule headed move. The man was a perfect 29yr old idiot. And his slow, irreverent slide into love was just awesome. From Tack's nickname to his dog, nothing was overlooked in how you built this character. I love how he fell for Jensen. I love how he spoke to his counselor. And most definitely loved the scenes with his mom. Such a well balanced story from star to finish. But my absolute 5 stars tipping point was the music. From the subtitles to the songs they chose to play in the booth, I was in love with them all. Great, great job!

DNF

The plot is okay, manwhore etc.
I'm not sure if it's a dual POV coz I didn't finish it.

I feel like the words just passed by me, it was a blur, nothing too exciting. It's not the story, it's about the writing style.. I couldn't really explain what set me off but Around 26% of the story, I couldn't take it and took a breather, then breeze through the novel, at 50%, I had to stop... I didn't find him that interesting...

Loved it! Even when Tack was saying things to women he really should have kept to himself I still loved him haha. At times I felt bad for him but he kind of needed the wake up call so I didn't feel too bad for him. Loved Jensen. She was just awesome. Loved when she would put Tack in his place. Plus the fact she kind of ran the course of the relationship was great. It's always fun when the guy has to work for it. Great book! Super funny!

Waking Up in Vegas is a story about an ultimate man whore falling in love and becoming a better man. It's not new and pretty simple. But what surpised me was how well this book was written. It was funny and easy to read. It reminded me a lot of Tangled. If you are looking for a light summer read, you'll like this one.

I had a hard time getting into this book in the beginning but ended up really enjoying it. I didn't really like Tack for about the first 15% of the book but I ended up really liking him. This was laugh-out-loud funny. The entire book is told from a male POV. Looking forward to reading more by this author.

*A man ruled by his little head with impulse control issues

*The one woman he can't control himself around and the only one he can stand to be around for more than a night

*A situation full of complications and kind of forbidden that affects both of their careers

*Confined in close quarters way too many hours a day

=One big confusing mess for Tack Morgan

Tack is the rude, crude, socially unacceptable manwhore who lacks a filter and he is talking right to his audience (us...the readers). He is a sexy, popular morning DJ with a reputation for leaving a string of broken hearts and one night stands.

His new co-host, Jensen Mackenzie is perky, sexy, smart, and personable. And her sexy voice alone causes him to be on full alert and everything about her keeps him that way.

Tack is left reeling trying to figure out how one woman can screw with his head, body and change his life so fast. Soon he even finds himself in sexual harassment counseling (not that he would ever do anything like that. wink) and part of his anatomy is in a constant state of pain.

I loved Tack and Jen's flirty, feisty interactions. I enjoyed seeing the "Love 'em then Leave 'em" guy get totally confused, distracted and become a "pansy ass" with feelings as he discovered more of his vulnerable and softer side. It was fun seeing the manwhore fall.

But Jensen really kept him on his toes. She took him on and all of his issues. She just kind of slipped into his life and sent him spinning. She also made him work for it and she was just as stubborn as he was. But then she hit him with news that would ruin everything.

Can a man really change when he meets his match? Will he be able to win the girl or will he finally find himself the one left behind?

This was fast paced, sweet, funny, and sexually charged. It was all in Tack's unfiltered point of view and he spoke directly to the readers. He was honest, opinionated, inappropriate at times, and hilarious. I enjoyed the humor and quirkiness, and Tack had me smiling and laughing so much throughout it. This was also a journey of self awareness for this guy, as well as him being hit over the head with lust, longing, friendship, and love. I could not help but like him and feel sorry for him. I really liked Jensen too even though she frustrated me at times by some of her decisions. My heart was totally on Tack's side and I was sweating out how it was all going to end up.

This is a stand alone but a few characters from her other books Dream Me Off My Feet and Stagepass (Prequel Novella to 'Sex, Love, and Rock & Roll' Series do make an appearance.

I was gifted a copy in exchange for an honest review. Will be posted at Reviews by Tammy and Kim.

A hot morning radio host who was voted Las Vegas Magazines sexiest man, has no trouble separating his sex life from his professional one, but when a beautiful petite co-host with a velvet voice sends his testosterone levels skyrocketing, Tack Morgan finds honesty can land you in counseling, the friend zone sucks and there isn't a shower cold enough to wash away the sexual frustration caused by his new co-host.

I'm always intrigued when I hear a romance is written from a male perspective and absolutely love it when the author gets it right. Using a first person narrative, we are introduced to Tack Morgan and the reader gets to experience firsthand what it's like to be inside the mind of an impulsive, arrogant but loveable man whose mouth has no filter and his sexual confidence is off the rails.

Jensen Mackenzie, beautiful with a spirited personality, rocks as the one woman that tests the boundaries Tack has built around his professional career, sex life and his heart. This story is set in a Las Vegas morning show that provides a refreshingly different backdrop and Tacks mom, friends and a couple of four-legged characters add fun and realism to this sexy-hot story that has just as many laugh out loud scenes as tender ones. Waking Up in Vegas is a fun, sexy read and thanks to author Stevie Kisner, I will never look at a bag of frozen peas the same way again. Recommend Highly.

What a breath of fresh air! This book was exactly what I needed to bring me out of my reading rut this weekend.

I love me a good reformed manwhore book. And this was exactly that, a good damn book!

Tack is a popular DJ at a Vegas radio station, when he's assigned a new partner, he's not happy. Until he gets a look at exactly who his new on air partner is, that is.

Jensen has moved to Vegas from Kansas City to take this radio station job. She knows all about Tack's rep with women and although she's extremely attracted to him, she's not ready to be another notch in his bedpost.

Waking Up in Vegas is told completely in Tack's POV. It's funny and sexy and even has some angst thrown in for good measure. If I hadn't known ahead of time that the author was a woman I would swear this book was written by a man. Her peek into the male psyche is so well written and definitely an eye opener. She definitely knows how men think.

Fun and fabulous, this is a great read with witty banter, a great storyline and of course hot and steamy too. Each chapter is titled after great rock songs. Seriously if this book had a soundtrack, I'd buy it! I have the urge to listen to some 80's hair bands now. And as an added bonus it's a full length standalone with no cliffhanger!

To say I was excited about the release of this book would have been the understatement of the century. I honestly thought it would be like Tangled, and since stupid me thought that, I knew it would be fucking amazing. And then I actually started reading it and I had to fight to keep my eyes open.

It was waaaay too detailed. Or something. It was super slow though. I read the first 20-ish percent of the book properly, and then I just stopped reading. I couldn't take it anymore. So this morning, I decided to "finish" the story. So I read the last 4 chapters and I felt like I didn't miss a thing. And that's that. One thing that really bothered me was that I couldn't find anything to connect to the MCs with. One might say that's because it's from a male POV, but I've read plenty of stories from dual/male POV and they worked great. This though, just didn't. I felt let down, big time. It's safe to say I'm not going anywhere near this story again. Once is more than enough.

Waking Up in Vegas by Stevie Kisner was a breath of fresh air. Tack Morgan is your typical man whore. He is a morning DJ at a radio station in Las Vegas and lives the life of a player: No more than one night with a woman.

Well his world is spun around when he gets a new co-host, Jenson McKenzie. She is everything he didn't want in a woman and now he has no clue what to do.

Tack is so used to getting his way, that when he ends up having to go to a therapist for sexual harassment counselling, his life is totally changed. He begins to see what he is missing out in life- Love.

This story was truly funny. I loved the POV from a male perspective. The author kept me thoroughly entertained throughout the book. Even though Tack is an ass, I couldn't help but feel sorry for the guy and eventually liked him.

This was a great book and I highly recommend it if you are looking for something light hearted and funny!

I always try to stick a book out no matter what. It's just something I have to do. So it's very rare if at all I give up.

I didn't so much as give up on this book as I skimmed the beginning here and there a couple of times. It felt necessary if I was going to make it through.

About 60% through maybe I actually started to become interested.

Tack starts off like any other full of themselves man-whore book hero but it just irked me with him more than the others. When her apartment get termites is when I started to sort of like his character and get into the book a little more.

With Jenson I couldn't really get a read off of her. She was chipper one minute and then quiet and cuddly the next. You don't even know if she's interested in him for most of this book so it just felt like it was prolonged a bit.

Thank god there was no cheating because on top of everything else I didn't care for about the book I would have just admitted defeat and given up on it.

I didn't like it. There, I've said it. It was boring, slow-paced and there are probably a hundred other books like this. I was just… bad. I don't particularly want to go into a rant so

Basically, the story goes something like this…

Tack doesn't really know what he wants and which head he should listen to. He goes from the "i-dont-wanna-date-EV-AH" to the "i-love-you-rainbows-and-fucking-unicorns" thoughts.

They get together, Tack and Jensen. THE END. I skimmed and while there were a little bit more going on, the end result is the same.

Not super funny or anything nor did it have anything that made my heart race with the romance. Mediocre at best… I'm sure you've read something much better than this and you also can read something better than this. My personal recommendations; Go read something else.

I found this to be a fun-to-read-laugh-out-loud story that stands on its own. Another bad boy who shares his POV that will keep you in stitches with some great one-liners. Tack is a bit of a mess – but he’s a good mess. And when he falls for “the one,” it’s quite a romp. Especially when “the one” is a bit of a pill herself and plays the game almost as well as the bad boy. And who doesn't like a story straight out of Vegas?

The sparks fly, the banter is witty and funny, the romance is hot, and it’s just an all-around great treat. I didn't enjoy it quite as much as Tangled (which it's been compared to), but I definitely enjoyed it. Tack and Jen were very entertaining and likeable in all aspects. And you’ll get the happily-ever-after with no dang cliffy in sight. Great job!

There are certain times that I wish I was a blogger so my voice can reach lots of people. This book is one of those reasons that I want to shout it from the roof tops. Waking Up In Vegas is a hilarious must-read. Tack is an unapologetic man-whore who meets his match in his new morning radio talk show co-host Jensen. Sparks fly and the heat rises. Will he be able to convince himself and Jensen that they belong together? I was cracking up while reading this book, it's an easy and fun read that leaves me with a big smile on my face. The supporting cast was well thought out, from the uproarious scenes with the therapists, to the charming scenes with the dogs, I loved them all. While Tack is pretty tactless in the beginning, his brash ways make the story and ending more endearing. This was the first book I read by Stevie Kisner, and I know it won't be the last!

Tack Morgan is who everyone in Vegas wakes up to. He is the morning drive time DJ at KLVR radio station, and voted Las Vegas Magazine's Sexiest Man. Tack lives by his title and spends his off hours playing women like he does music. That is until a new morning co-host, Jensen MacKenzie, arrives and turns his dials. Tack's antics lead him into hot water and he is forced to take sexual harassment classes in order to keep his job.

We enjoyed this male perspective, it was refreshing and hilariously fun. Tack is really a sweet guy deep down. His momma raised him well, although he doesn't see it. Jensen is funny, feisty, and can sure handle her own. The relationship formed between these two is steamy and sweet, there is nothing Top 40 about it, Waking in Vegas Rocks!
We give it 4.5 sighs.

The reviews on Amazon compared this one to Tangled by Emma Chase (which I can definitely see the parallels). It's also told from the male POV (and a rather womanizing chauvinistic male). There were definitely some swoon worthy and steamy moments, but Tack just fell a little flat as a character for me. He showed only minimal growth throughout the book and totally didn't see where the things he was saying and doing were highly inappropriate with how to treat women, and I'm sorry but the excuse of growing up in his mom's club just didn't cut it for me. It was an overall cute and enjoyable love story, I just wish there was more depth to it.

I enjoyed this book. Yes, it did remind me a lot of Tangled, with the male narrator and the healthy dose of oversharing, but I thought the author did a really nice job getting inside the head of a single guy in Vegas. I didn't fall as in love with him a I did Drew, but it was close. It was nice to see Tack evolve and grow and I was really happy that he had to see a therapist. It helped make his growth more believable.
My only real complaint was the end. I would have loved to have seen further into the future. How amazing would it be for Tack to have a little girl!
