Although I feel like this short 180 page book got dogmatic at times, it provides a good summary of what Historical Materialism is and how it’s been used through out history to effect changes throughout society. This book also gives a rundown of the USSR’s social policies and public moralities concerning religion, art, and science and how they contrast with bourgeois democratic countries social policies and public moralities on the same topics.

Soviet diamat crap.

A good synthesis of historical materialism. It crammed a lot of theory in 180 pages which was a nice summary. I really could’ve done without all the Soviet propaganda, though I understand that that fits the context under which the book was written.
